I had the steamed dumplings which were really good. They were encased in a thin dough and the filling was ample. It was quiet and the cashier was very friendly.

On my quest to find my favorite Chinese vegetable/vegetarian plate, it was Lee's Garden's chance. When I walked up and the windows and door were dirty with finger prints everywhere, I started to turn around and walk out but I had already been spotted and greeted. I ordered the usual and the price, after the bottled water was $8.00. The pricing was a plus. I also liked that the veggies came out on an actual dish. They still served the rice on syrofoam and the fork was so flimsy that it wouldn't pick up the broccoli without scooping it. All in all, it was a pretty good meal and better than any of the mall food court options.

Lee's Garden has some of the best food around. The menu is the typical chinese takeout menu but the food is well above average. I've tried several different dishes from here and they have all tasted wonderful. I'm eating one as I type this. The general Tso's is nice and meaty, not all breading like other places. Everything is good though. Seriously, you have to try it.

First time order. It was fast hot and delicious. I will definitely order from here again :)

This is a typical American Chinese take out/delivery place, that has gone downhill in the last couple of years. A few years ago it was actually a bit of a standout in the field. Sure, it was much like other American Chinese places, but the food was pretty good, they delivered to a good chunk of Lexington, and the food was good. If you really insist on eating in, they have a couple of tiny tables for eating in, and it's such a "family run" place that the owner's little girl is typically sitting at one of them playing, you'll find she often comes up to diners and makes idle conversation. Somewhere along the way, it stopped being quite so good. They changed their delivery area, so that suddenly one day they didn't deliver to our place anymore, after we had been ordering from there for a couple of years. Now we had to go pick up our food, which was a mild inconvenience but as the food was pretty good for what it was, this was acceptable. The food just seemed to go downhill over time, and it gradually became greasier, soggier, and saltier, like they were cutting corners with the cuisine and it showed. The last time we ordered from there, we made a large order for a party (figuring chinese take-out was an appropriate meal for a party largely watching kung fu films) and a couple of our guests got food poisoning! With that as the exclamation point at the end of a long, slow decline they stopped receiving our patronage. If you want mediocre, greasy, soggy American-style Chinese food this will do adequately, but you can find better.

Well... Like the other guys said.... It's Americanized BUT, not bad. I have had TONS of Chinese food, and plenty in Chinatown L.A. and S.F. and it's not tooooo far off but it's to the American palate for sure. I went safe and got the Orange chicken, pork fried rice, pork egg roll, spring roll and sesame balls. I wanted to try a little of their most sold offerings... The orange chicken I got was pretty damn good actually. The spice is perfect and everything was fresh, not too sweet, etc. The rice was cooked properly but the egg rolls were decent with a little grease but not bad. The sesame balls are ok as well. No frozen taste on anything that I could tell and I really liked the fresh orange peel and crisp veggies in my dish. NOT amazing... but for take out... I think my meal was a little more than decent. I'd order the Orange chicken again... None of the other stuff though. ... ... The vibe is awkward for most I'm assuming but I've been in some seriously awkward restaurants before so I don't get phased anymore. Just kind of cold and " cliche " for a take out place.

Another typical Americanized Chinese eatery in town. Food is good, egg rolls are larger than most places but still taste like a typical Chinese eatery egg roll.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
