Love the 3-way chili! We always add hot sauce as well as onion (which technically makes it 4-way). Give this restaurant a try if you haven't already! P.S. They have a birthday club .

I eat here for the people experience mostly! Good people mostly and good service. Love the cheese fries and the chili dip. The cheesecake is pretty darn good as well! The rest I can take or leave.

My cheese coney had a huge chunk of plastic in it. Absolutely disgusting. I would avoid this place at all costs.

We used to have Gold Star Chili years ago, when we lived in Lexington. If anything, it's even better now! The service was great too. Thanks for a great experience!

Love having this hometown food staple nearby (& at Fayette Mall), my Cincinnati style chili cravings require it! We always have great service, the food is served hot & the prices/portions are very reasonable compared to other restaurants. I noticed tonight that when she brought the check, it already had a place for a tip. I hadn't given her my card yet, but she told me you fill it out and then they ring the card through. I like this method, as it shows exactly what was charged to your card and you aren't left wondering if the server tried to inflate their tip. I wish more restaurants would follow suit with this method.

Once again, this place does not disappoint. I got the Tex Mex Nachos and they were amazing! You can buy a lot for $10. Noticed when I had gotten the Tex Mex Chili, they wrap the cup in aluminum foil and wrapper. Pretty smart. It definitely comes to the customer piping hot! One thing they could definitely do though is to pack utensils for people carrying out and/or coming through the drive thru. They kind of just threw a spoon in the bag. Not really hygienic.

Cincinnati-styled chili. The service is typically good, the food is always served fresh and fast and the pricing is affordable. Kid's menu selections make this chain family-friendly.

Cleanliness is the only thing holding this establishment from a 4 star rating. I noticed the tables aren't cleaned off to quickly. The service was politely handled, food was hot and always tasty. Soda was refilled without question or waiting. Reasonably priced if you love chili and spaghetti this is a must stop.

I am liking this place less and less with each visit. I usually make a stop here for food when heading to and from my parent's house in TN. Usually, road trips entail slim pickings for vegetarian food, and I'm stuck eating french fries the whole way, but Gold Star left a positive impression in my mind at first - they have vegetarian chili which you can even get Cincinatti-style in the form of a 5-way - what a novelty for a traveler! But as the novelty wore off, I realized that the vegetarian "chili" is but peas and carrots and other canned vegetables drowned in a chili-like sauce and can't possibly afford you the illusion of indulging in Cincinatti-style chili. Hope is not lost, however - you can still get your hands on some good vegetarian Cincinatti-style chili. Go down the street to the Meijer and buy the Gold Star Chili seasoning packet and a pack of Smart Grounds. Okay, so you won't be able to have it on the road, but I made this later at home, and it turned out spectacular.
