Fried chicken is way too salty. Avoid it. This place is also way overpriced. I don't care if it is located in a Hyatt Regency. Prices should be lower than this in Lexington. Breakfast is also way overpriced but at least the food is decent.

I have stayed at the Hyatt for the past 4 years during the annual Lexington Comic and Toy Convention. The hotel has been very good, and we occasionally do the breakfast buffet at the BlueFire, to mixed results. On Saturday night, March 14, 2015, I was lamed up with a busted ankle, and my group also had two hungry kids. We decide, instead of walking to find food, or driving somewhere, to head down to the BlueFire to check the menu. After we were seated, the waitress came up and immediately started talking about a large group that had come in, and the kitchen was running slow because of them. Looking over at the group, they didn't seem to be much larger than our group of six. She then started pushing the buffet HARD. The rest of my party went to check the buffet (remember, I could barely walk, so getting food at a buffet didn't seem wise) and the waitress went to get soda for myself and my father. Coming back from the buffet, my brother and sister-in-law said there was nothing for the kids, and mentioned this to the waitress, who said she was going to get menus. Someone else (man in suit. Manager-type?) brought a single kids menu and crayons, and the menu already had half of the puzzles completed. A few minutes later, they brought another kids menu, but not once did they bring any adult menus. Finally, the waitress came back, and with a huge heaping helping of attitude, asked if we were getting the buffet. At this point, I made a comment that "You know what? Forget this.", got up from my chair, and limped out of the restaurant and back to the room. The rest of the party packed up a few minutes later and left, hitting a chinese restaurant somewhere else in Lexington. With the mixed experiences I've had there before, and then this experience, I'm never setting foot back in this piss-poor, unprofessional eatery again. Even if I'm lamed up, I'll hobble up the street a bit to Saul Good next year.

This is the resturant/bar in the hotel lobby and it is piss poor. I sit down and waited 20 min for the server to even stop by. Then didn't see them again until 15 minutes later when I ordered my own drink at the bar. It was very disorganized and actually closed at 11pm on a Friday and Saturday night. WTF? The entire staff here is unprofessional and sloppy. I thought I was going to have to go make my own damn drink. Rude Lazy and Annoying. I wish I could rate them lower and a 1. Will not be attending this place again. I feel bad for the people who use this to determine if Lexington is a good place to visit. I am going to show my true inner geek here and quote Gandalf..."Run you fools!"

This is the best the Hyatt can do???? We wanted some simple casual food on a cold night when we weren't in the mood to go out from the hotel. Soup for my wife, and soup and meatloaf for me. Bread selection was minimal and microwaved texture...you know, super soft. My soup comes out, and 20 seconds later (I'm not kidding) my meatloaf comes out. I send the meatloaf back, as I only had one or two spoonfuls of the soup. I finish my soup 8 minutes later, and then they bring my wife's soup and the original meatloaf and green beans. Needless to say it wasn't even warm now, so I send it back for a new one. A new plate comes out for me just as my wife is finishing her soup. Manager comes over and decides to offer me a free glass of wine...I decline (it wasn't that good). She returns 2 minutes later and decides to comp each of us our glass of wine, and my wife's soup as she had to eat alone....that's fine. We finish our meal and go upstairs to bed. Next time I'll dress warmly to go out.

Let me start by saying I love the hotel. We stay here every year for Lexington Comic and Toy Convention. I also know that hotel restaurants are not going to be the greatest dining experiences. They are there for convenience, nothing more. The convenience was why we went. We had two kids that were hungry and tired. We didn't want to go anywhere and it seemed like a good idea. We were horribly wrong!! When we arrived, we were sat quickly as the restaurant was only about 50% full. We weren't given menus, but that wasn't surprising as they push the buffet. Our waitress then told us that if we decided to order off the menu, it could take over an hour because there were a lot of orders currently in (remember that the restaurant is only 50% full). Our kids didn't want anything on the buffet (which wasn't shocking as it was "fancy" main dishes that didn't look very appetizing). We told our waitress and she seemed annoyed. She told us that they could make chicken tenders and fries for the kids. I finally asked her to bring menus and got even more attitude. They finally brought ONE kids menu (two boys) and no adult menus. Eventually, our waitress came back and gave us even more attitude about ordering off a menu, so we just got up and left. Can't rate the food because we never ate. Won't go back. Not worth the hassle. Hate to see what happens when they are busy.

The only reason this is a 3 star is because of the bartender and his knowledge of Bourbon. The food was terrible and not much to talk about. Please, if you must come here, eat a pizza first and possibly just have a beverage.

I often have a snack here when traveling to Lexington. The food is OK. The breakfast buffet is really good and I would most heartily recommend it. Last week, I had breakfast there and there seemed to be more attentive servers than they know what to do. An over eager young man actually cleared my plate before I had a chance to eat the second half of my english muffin. I almost yelled after him: "Hey - bring my muffin back", but though the better of it as I was dressed up in a suit and looking quite professional. But I really wanted that muffin! Oh well.

I, too, like so many other Yelpers before me, stayed here at the Hyatt and therefore ate at the BlureFire Bar and Grill. Unfortunately, sometimes its all we have. In my humble opinion, hotel restaurants are notoriously bad but I do try them every now and again. Unlike some of the other reviews, I found the service to be very good indeed. I never waited, every one were full of smiles, polite, and regularly checked up on me. The food, however, was not the freshest I have had (or would expect). Its clear that much is prepared in advance and then just heated up. It is a bit disappointing, especially considering they are owned by Hyatt and the prices that they are charging. If you can, find one of the many, many, other places in downtown Lexington, just a short walk away. Cheers!

This is pre-cooked, microwaved food that smells like death.

I ate at the BlueFire Bar & Grill three different nights while in Lexington since I was staying at the Hyatt for a business trip and simply didn't have the time or energy to go elsewhere. The menus looked creative enough, but the actual food items weren't great. I also noticed a consistent pattern of menu items not being quite true to their descriptions. The salads and sweet potato fries were good. The sirloin-stuffed porto was horribly misnamed. It was actually cubes of sirloin on a thin piece of portabella mushroom - not even an entire mushroom cap! The flavors were fine, but it wasn't easy to try to get mushroom and sirloin in each bite. The bison burger with hickory bacon was the best and cheapest entree I had here. Good flavor and actually medium rare, as I requested. The crispy chicken wasn't crispy at all. I expected fried chicken, but the chicken was lightly browned and actually almost soggy. The menu said it would come with "seasonal vegetables," but all I got were a few overroasted sliced yellow & red bell peppers. In the middle of summer, I'm not convinced those were the best seasonal vegetables the restaurnat could have mustered! The whipped potatoes were a bit too chunky to be called "whipped potatoes." Again, a case of bad naming. The hot brown (turkey, bacon, gouda sauce, and tomato on bread, with some green onion and other toppings) was a bit too rich. The first few bites were good, but after a while, the gouda sauce cooled down and everything started to taste bad. (Although I was eating pretty quickly, the sandwich didn't start out piping hot, and the hotel was heavily air-conditioned.) Service was fine by my normal, non-Kentucky standards, but elsewhere in Lexington, all the waiters were much friendlier than the ones at the Hyatt. The food came out a bit slowly, considering how few customers were in the restaurant, but perhaps the kitchen was understaffed or fulfilling a lot of in-room dining orders. Would I eat here again if I was staying at the Hyatt? Sure. Would I come here if I wasn't staying at the Hyatt? Probably not.

The Hyatt in Lexington is such a beautiful hotel and the Blue fire bar & grill has a very sleek modern inviting look. Unfortunately looks can be very deceiving. After a long day of traveling and lite sight seeing I figured it would be convenient to dine at the hotel. I seated myself and waited for a bit of attention. Finally, a waiter came over and said he would be right with me. I had no menu, no water and 10 minutes later I was again greeted by another waitress who wanted to know if I had been helped and she proceeded to find my waiter. Okay I have to make this long story short... 20 minutes later I have my food. First of all I could not substitute soup for a salad because the chef hates substitutes. Second of all the Crab cab was absolutely awful dry and tasteless , I ordered creme bur lee with berries but when my treat was placed in front of me no berries could be found I figured maybe it was underneath the creme but it was not. You would figured I would have learned my lesson.. but the next morning I craved a good cup of coffee and a big old fashion county breakfast. When you wake up you never want to go far. I waited on a line for more than 15 minutes, I was half way through my breakfast before a waitress came over with coffee.. thank goodness it was a breakfast buffet and I was able to help myself. I must say the omelet and the pancakes had a delicious taste . Breakfast definitely wins over dinner but the service does not make sense for a hotel like the Hyatt who is very customer focus.
