Best meal in town been here twice for hibachi for lunch we had salad fried rice shrimp scallops and ny strip steak Joey was our chef on both occasions fantastic meal and Joey is great at lunch hibachi is $10 for one choice like steak or $15 if you want two choices so the two of us we spent $25 for steak shrimp and scallops well worth it definitely recommended

I went there yesterday just to try the sushi. This place is definitely a more japanese restaurant style place than sushi bar, and it was a little depressing being in such a social type place when it was all but empty. However the sushi was good, not great, and the service was perfect. It probably would have been more enjoyable in a group setting where you could enjoy the chef's perfomance and sample more of the food. Overall a decent performer.

Habachi is always a fun time with family and entertaining for the kids. We had a sushi roll with red snapper and it was really good! The food was pretty good!!

One of my absolute favorite places to get sushi! (I could care less about hibachi)...my only complaint is it's soooo cold. Bring a jacket ladies (and gents). I wish they had a patio.

I was in Lexington for a conference and, after 2 days of buffet food, I was dying for some good sushi. I turned to Yelp and I found a restaurant with great reviews - Asuka. I ordered the Dynamite Shrimp ( kind of like the Bang Bang Shrimp at Bonefish Grill), the Taido Maki Roll (spicy crawfish with cream cheese and jalapeño), and 2 pieces of Kani. The fish was fresh and everything was nice and spicy. I wasn't too impressed with the Kani however, it was overly sweet.

We always sit at the sushi bar and it's by far the best sushi I've ever had. They take their time in preparing it but they are also very friendly. They want to make sure that you love the food. They always throw in extras like a cucumber salad and soup. And the last two times we've been the sushi chefs make us a dessert. We will definitely go back there!

I have only been here twice for lunch but its becoming one of my fav lunch spots as long as I can make it before 2. Couple Rolls, Soup, and rice and its golden pony boy!!

Nice lunch spot when you get sick of the same old. $10 special includes entree, rice, veggies, and soup or salad. I ordered the salmon with a salad. The salad was not good. The ginger dressing was ok but it was a bitter, white iceberg lettuce. Blah. But everything else was very good. I'll definitely go again (but I'll order the soup!)

Our oldest son asked for Sushi for his birthday dinner. My other two children looked like they were going to die if they had to partake in sushi so I opted for a Japanese Steakhouse. This place is newly opened in the old Billys BBQ location in Hamburg and is the second location for this restaurant (original is in Brannon Crossing). The remodel looks fantastic and it was nice to see a 100% on their health inspection when walking in. We were seated quickly and I think we scared the older couple that we shared the grill with, well at least at first. Once the chef arrived he started chatting, laughing and before we knew it, the older guy was telling us about how he missed Half Life (if you're a gamer, you'll understand) and we all started talking. The soup arrived, then the salad and then the chef. All on par of any place you'd visit here in Lexington. What made me smile was the little extras that they did. My seven year old always asks for chop sticks and I always forget to bring a rubber band with me to fix them for him (I know I am ashamed). This time they brought out children's chop sticks and I looked like super mom and my kid was thrilled to sit and try to eat his rice one piece at a time with is new found independence. I will admit, this is the calmest and quietest I've seen him at a place to eat which made my dinner so much more enjoyable. Our chef was skilled and very funny. He does all the standard tricks and typical show. He talked to us, the kids and he answered many questions the kids asked. Overall the food was very good. I prefer my steak medium rare and he was spot on. The rice was very good, not over done or under cooked. They gave us a complimentary shrimp that they cook in a garlic breadcrumb coating on the grill. It was very good and luckily two of the kids refused it touch it, so more for the husband and I. Everyone else in our party of seven devoured their food and had no complaints. Our bill totaled, tip included $180, no alcohol, one order of a Spicy Crab sushi roll, and dinners.

Everything about this place is so ass. The sushi tastes like shit. The service is awful and slow. If you are forced to go here avoid the server Brittany at all costs. My water glass stood empty for 10 minutes before she refilled it. You know this place is a sorry excuse for a sushi bar when they don't even bring out chop sticks with your sushi.0.

Asuka has really good sushi in a great romantic atmosphere. I came here for the first time just a couple of weeks ago on a Wednesday evening as I had heard about their $2 off sushi deal on Wednesday's. I made a reservation, but it was 5:30 and when we got there we clearly didn't need a reservation. Although as we sat and ate our meal, it got a lot busier. The $2 off deal is good on any sushi roll including the special rolls. We ordered too much, but it was all really good and we ended up eating it all! It was a nice touch that they gave us free miso soup!

Hold onto your seats, ladies and gentlemen (and everyone in between.) This is my first review as a member of the Elite Squad and I am flashing my badge allllll over the place. As soon as I walked into this establishment, I looked at their Best Restaurant Award from 2014 and I told my boyfriend, "I knew that; I'm Elite." After showing my '15 badge and assuring the hostess it was okay to approach me, we were seated at a grill. First, might I add. (We were the first people there, but still, I know how this Elite thing works.) I think it should be added that I have never been to a hibachi place before and I have never had Japanese food before -- besides (limited) sushi. I'll start off with service because the food has to be saved for last -- otherwise I'll start drooling and seeing the lights again and I can't finish a review like that. The waitress and chef were both quite pleasant. The waitress had refills before my glass was even half empty and she was very polite. But, she wasn't annoying or there too much. It's a fine line and she didn't cross it. The chef had fun with a particular little girl - I'm pretty sure they became their own manzai - creating laughs and gags throughout the meal. The actual art of the making of the food was amazing and entrancing to watch. Now the food. Folks, I don't ever say this kind of thing, but I am pretty sure this is one of the top two best - if not the best - food and dining experiences I have ever had. I can honestly say that I haven't had better chicken or shrimp anywhere. This is competing with my Disney World five-star restaurant experience. I don't usually eat much, but this is the kind of food you can't stop eating for sheer pleasure of the taste. Oh, get the fried rice. My boyfriend made sure I did and I see why he did. And from someone who never uses sauce but was made to: Use the Yummy Yummy sauce. I give five stars because this is as good as it gets; great service and absolutely delicious food. I do indeed recommend this.

Solid sushi. Hurricane roll was delish. Will definitely be back. Want to try the crab Rangoon roll because it is a favorite of mine at another place. Think I may go back today, it really is that good.

Always very good sushi. We really like the atmosphere at the Hamburg location. The one in Brannon Crossing is not very desirable. The Brannon Crossing atmosphere feels to much like a cafeteria. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is I feel they have a limited menu. I wish they would step it up and have more broad dinner options. I know it is the set standard menu for most typical hibachi grills.

Let me start out by saying I love a good Japanese Restaurant, but I hate leaving smelling like a hibachi grill. This place did not disappointment me. I had met a friend there for lunch and we were seated far away from the hibachi so we didn't stink. That alone earned them a star. The other 3 stars comes from the great service of our waitress and awsome food. I ordered udon noodles because I am somewhat of a noodle addict and by jiminy it was yummy. The broth by itself was so tasty, I could have probably just drank it. It also came with a side of tempura shrimp. The batter of which was so like and crisp. I will have to go back to this place at some point. I really recommend it.

Have always enjoyed our meals here. I reccomend sitting at the grill, as the food is much hotter and tastier right off the grill. Servers sometimes have some confusion, but overall we really enjoy dining here.

OK, now I had never been to a Hibachi grill, ever! My son, after watching a movie that had one in it (yeah that's how you get a kid to come to try a place) he decided he wanted to try one! This is the closest one to my house so we decided on this place! It was delicious! The food was great... I wish I got to take a picture for you, however I was too intrigued with the events at the grill to worry about you guys! Yeah, sorry! :D He did the lighting of the grill on fire! Everyone at my table was like, whoa! My son loved it! It is a great place to entertain kids. I also have the most pickiest kid in America! But he tried the Teriyaki chicken, and loved it. I got the steak option and he loved that too! Yes, so what did I eat, well the scraps of course! It was a really nice experience. I hope to go back sometime soon! This time with my daughter in tote, she will eat more than the boy, but she was kinda upset she wasn't with us the first time! The chef was entertaining and my son was all smiles! The waitress was excellent, however it did take a bit longer because after they sat us down, no one turned on the grill, so we had to wait for it to get hot. But accidents happen and so I didn't knock them for that one! I can't wait to bring my entire family back! Next time I want to try thier sushi as well!!!

Consistently great sushi--high quality fish, unique rolls, and artful preparation. It's such a convenient location and has become our go-to sushi in Lexington.

This was my third Japanese restaurant experience. We arrived at about 7:30 and were seated right away as the first party at a hibachi. I ordered the combination scallop and shrimp dinner. The chicken broth soup (not sure the name) and a salad which came with a ginger dressing arrived shortly after we ordered but the chef didn't come out for a long time after we finished up with our salads. I think they were waiting to seat more people at the hibachi, but no one else ever showed up. When were arrived, the table beside of us was getting their food grilled, they had long since eaten and left. So finally the waiter said that they were closing our table and we could move to the middle if we would like. Our chef was funny and entertaining. The scallops were some of the best I've ever had. They're offering buy one get one half off combination dinners for the month April, so the bill for two meals was under $40. Not too bad for a Japanese restaurant. They did the same offer in February too.
