Korean BBQ!!!! You can grill your own meat (chicken, pork belly, bulgolgi, kalbi, seafood) and it's super fun! It comes with little appetizer dishes, or panchan (pickled radish, pickled cucumber, kimchi, bean sprouts, fish cake). They also have all-you-can-eat! Their chop chae is also superb! Delicious seafood pancake is also a must! And you will definitely walk out smelling like Korean BBQ! The only thing that might keep me from coming back more often is that they don't accept American Express credit cards.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Lexington. the service is consistantly excellent and so is the food. We love going to the buffet on the weekends. I eat mostly asian foods because of my food allergies- its a good place to go for anyone with gluten allergies or intolerances. I haven't had a mediocre dish there yet. I also recommend the dolsot bop. It is awesome.

Food was good here, marinated well, plenty of sides that were allright too. I should have asked if someone can help me cook it right. Nice staff.

Great lunch buffet for $10- bulgogi, spicy sausage with rice cakes, japchae, etc. Good quality and made fresh daily.

Is this the best Koren food I've had? No. But I think it is the best in Lexington. The food is always satisfying. I agree with the others, 25 dollars for bbq buffet is a little too much. But since they are the only one that's doing it in Lexington, we are just happy that we can get it without driving too far.

I've lived in Lexington most of my life, but I just discovered this restaurant. We went for lunch on a Sunday, almost 3 hours before the dinner buffet began. There were maybe 3 other tables occupied. We really liked everything we ordered. I especially love the pickle sides which come with the entree. I do wish there had been music playing. The only sound to be heard was the scraping of chopsticks and the clinging of dishes, which made me feel like I needed to whisper. A+ on a fantastic meal! We'll be back soon to try the buffet

I was introduced to this restaurant in 2005 and LOVED it! The portion sizes are great, the BBQ is seasoned perfectly and all the sides are delicious. I moved to Washington DC in 2007 and expected to discover Korean food that was just as good (if not better) due to the large Korean population but I still have not found anything that compares to Arirang Garden. Even the DC area's legendary Honey Pig is not as good! I completely recommend.

This was my first time here, and my first time trying Korean BBQ. I love everything about this place. We arrived at 5pm, first diners of the evening. We were quickly greeted, and other tables soon came in. I can't tell you what I ate. I've got a photo on here. I can tell you that everything was delicious, even though I couldn't work the chop sticks very well. Our server was exceptional; he seemed to anticipate all of our needs. The owner visited our table and was very nice. The table next to us chatted with us during the meal. It seems this place is quite popular with the residents in the neighborhood. They mentioned how great the "fishy things" are. I can't believe I haven't eaten here before, and I'll definitely be back soon.

Haven't had Korean food in a while, so we came here on a whim as we were passing by town. We walked in with no expectations at all, but we walked out very pleased! The gentleman that served us was pleasant & kind. We ordered the dolsot bibimbap and the jjamppong. Food came out in a timely manner. They have a nice array of side dishes as well. Dolsot bibimbap was very tasty. You can't go wrong with bibimbap, so although I was happy with the dish- it wasn't anything to be crazy impressed by. I did like how the dolsot was still sizzling till the end. That's a good dolsot (stone pot)! Now the jjamppong. Dare I say the best jjamppong I ever had? YES!! I had me some good jjamppong in my life, but Arirang's was out of the world! Maybe it is deprivation- I really don't know. But I was in love. I was sweating and constantly had to blow my nose from the heat (weather & food wise), but totally worth it! The broth is incredibly rich and refreshing with the perfect amount of spiciness. They didn't skimp out on the seafood/veggie condiments nor the noodles! It's awfully saddening that I don't live closer to this area. I would have liked to try their buffet too.

I think that this is the best Korean restaurant in Lexington. The flavors are similar to good Korean restaurants that I have been in Atlanta and Dallas. I recommend the pork bbq, spicier than beef. The service is great here as well.

my wife is a Korean food fan, we went to many k restaurants all over the country, and the seafood pancake is the best we ever had. Kalbe and duk bok ki are also great. I gave 4-start because the price is a little higher than we thought.

I live near K-town in the SF Bay Area, and I love me some Korean food. I talked my family into trying out Arirang. I was slightly disappointed that it was buffet service only for lunch, as I had a whole game plan as to what to order for my family. But the buffet did well. It had a good variety, and I went back a few times for the mini kimchee pancakes, which is required food for me. The building itself is somewhat odd and run down looking. But if there is one thing I have learned in K-town, is that you never judge a Korean restaurant by its outside appearance. They are usually dives (not sure why), but that's just the way it works. Overall it was decent, and an inexpensive lunch option.

Looking for a place to eat in Lexington, Yelp didn't turn up any barbecue which surprised me. I'm still not sure why there are so many Korean places in Lexington, but I'm glad there are. Passed through town and with the help of Yelp tried to go to Koreana but it was closed, and this turned out to be right on the way back to the highway. Service was good. The place is nice but not fancy, which suited us just fine. We had Dolsot Bibimbap, which was great; Sweet and Sour Chicken (can't remember the Korean name,) which was pretty good, and fried dumplings which were very good. If I'm ever in town again I'll probably go back.

I go there for the "ban chans" (little side dishes) which they serve generously. I like to order the combination fried rice tasty but a little bit oily. Soups and noodles were also good. I am not a fan of the dishes that you cook yourself. The place can get smoky, exhausts/vents don't seem to work consistently.

We found this restaurant on Yelp and we were very pleased with our meal. My husband and I shared two dishes, Dolsot Bop and Shrimp Bokum. The Bop came in a hot lava rock bowl which cooked the raw egg while being mixed with veggies and rice. The waiter asked the cook to tame down the shrimp dish which is normally very spicy. It was perfect. The food was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. If I could visit again I would try the grills that are at the tables.

I've eaten at a lot of Korean restaurants in California, and I must say that this little gem in Kentucky is the best! I would give them 10 stars if I could. I've had various items off the menu, but not the Korean BBQ. Their cham bong (seafood noodle soup) is excellent! I have never had better soup, and there are some excellent Korean restaurants in California. I told the lady at Arirang that I am happy to move back to Kentucky, just to get their food. I have eaten their Korean pancake and what I call Korean salad (bi bim bop). Both dishes are excellent. Their hot sauce is equivalent to what my friend's mother would make, and her mother is first generation Korean. In other words,...yum! I have also had their buffet which is an excellent value, and you have a variety of yummy dishes to delight your taste buds, including their salad bar which consists of all the sides one would normally get with their meal (like cucumber, kim chee, mushrooms, seaweed, etc.) I believe they are open until 3 p.m. on the week days. I noticed that a lot of people come in at around 2 p.m. to hit the buffet. You may wish to call to confirm their hours. (I believe that they may also be open in the evening on the weekends.) Good Korean food is so much more than the Korean BBQ. Expand your horizons, and try the delicacies off the menu! You will not regret it! By the way, their customer service is great, too! I always have plenty of water and hot tea to drink.

I'm from D.C., which, as a previous poster has mentioned, is lousy with Korean restaurants, and I've lived a long time in Asia, where Korean restaurants are ubiquitous (especially in Mongolia, for whatever reason). Arirang Garden has no reason for shame in comparison to any of them. BBQ is fun if you're with a large group, but the non-BBQ dishes here are really excellent. My vegetarian wife was very pleased with the dolsot bibimbap, and the pork was tender and delicious and was still on the bone in my kimchi stew. The banchan were not as odd as the ones at Koreana, but I think they were seasoned better. They have some dishes on their menu that are a very good sign - the ice-cold noodles with pear that is a North Korean specialty, and kimchi pajun (kimchi pancake) - and that aren't available at Koreana. The clientele there for dinner on a weekday seemed to mostly be Japanese businessmen, no doubt from the nearby Toyota plant. I usually don't care about service in ethnic restaurants, but the waitstaff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The lady clearing our table seemed shocked that we (very white) had actually cleaned our plates, and demanded to know where we learned to eat Korean food. It could have only been a more prototypical experience for us in a Korean restaurant if she had come out at the beginning of the meal and told us how to eat. Main drawback to this place for me is that they only sell large bottles of soju, not small bottles, but it's silky smooth and high-quality enough that I'm finding it hard to get that upset about it....

First time eating Korean food so I have nothing to compare it to. We went on friend's recommendation and we were not disappointed. We got the Kimchee Pajun and it was much bigger than I thought it would be. It was ver tasty and enough to feed 6 people. For the meal we got Dolstot Bop and Cham Pong. Both were great and my husband said it was the best birthday dinner he had ever had! The staff was super friendly and helpful since we were newbies. Definitely going back. Would love to try the BBQ!

This is pretty good Korean Barbecue at a pretty high price. They have a good selection of raw meats that you cook yourself at the table. There are maybe 2 beef dishes, 2 pork, a chicken, shrimp and scallops. Nearly all of it was very fresh and well seasoned. They also had a very tasty soup and some good kimchee. The only real negative is that they charge $25 a person. That would be fine in most larger cities, but here in Lexington, that is just too high. If not for that, I would go back.

Not the best but definitely good Korean food. Service was good. Korean food is always a little more expensive what I think it ought to be considering what you're getting. We probably paid $25 plus tip for two people. You can see their menu and prices online.

So this is my last day in Lexington, KY. I was tired of all the chain restaurants Ive been eating for the last week and wanted to try some thing different. When ever I travel to small towns like this one I always like to visit the local Asian restaurants. Just to see how they compare to home. With the help of yelp I located 2 Korean spots close to my hotel. Joy! My first pick was not open so it was off to plan B! This restaurant opened 30 Min's earlier so I would make my flight. I get inside to find out its a buffet during lunch time! Oh well, I'm already inside so I sampled all they had to offer, and I left... So the food was not that great, but they had allot of variety. The restaurant is split in to two portions. Half is a traditional Koran BBQ style with the grills in the middle of the table and the other half is just regular table seats. The owner was nice and I wish it was dinner time so I can of try out the BBQ instead...

Had their Korean bbq all you can eat. The selection was good however the marinate was too sweet. I have had many good quality Korean bbqs before and this is def not one of them. What made me give them a one star is that I found flies flying around and landing on the meat.

Love the BBQ!!! Very delicious! However, when I tried the other dishes on the menu, I don't really think it is REAL Korean! Again! BBQ is awesome!!!

A good experience if you never done Korean grill. The grill is in the center of the table and you can cook the food. The sides are very good. We have ate hear a few times and tried something different every time and enjoyed it all.

From the outside this place does not look appealing but once you get over appearance it's great! There is a buffet you can get meats/sides from and cook your own BBQ at your table, which is cool. I do think, however, this is alittle expensive - I don't think I ate enough to justify $30 and will probably just order from the menu next time! Everything was quite tasty!

This is my family's favorite korean BBQ place! Growing up in a korean family with a mom that can/will only cook korean food, I've had my fair share of my korean food. Ever after moving away from my old kentucky home to Houston, I still haven't yet to find a korean restaurant that can hold it down like Arirang does. My family used to make one hour drive from louisville to have all you can eat BBQ every 3-4 months. Their meats are always super fresh, very good quality, and well marinated. They have fresh seafood, prawns, squid etc that you can grill as well. They also have the side dishes like Japchae ,a variety of kimchi, really good Yook Gae Jang soup which is to die for, fruits and homemade mochi for dessert! I also recommened OB beer, it's very light and crisp, goes really well with BBQ. and this is coming from a person that doesn't normally drink beer too often. The price for the buffet might seem steep at first. (around $26~) but I soon realized after buying a box of frozen short ribs that it wasn't the case at all. The meat that's used for galbi is expensive. I bought a 2lb package of galbi meat for my husband and I and It was over 40 dollars. It's a good deal since this is all you can eat Korean BBQ and you get to taste other korean staple dishes. P.S don't wear any clothes that you have to dry clean! ;)
