Walked in tonight to watch a game and get some food with my husband, didn't appear busy. However, the bar and all related tables were dirty and the bartender said she'd be with us in a minute. Ok, that's fine, it was obviously busy. She had to finish making some drinks...and other staff was standing there doing nothing while we waited. So - we left and went down the strip mall street to Don Pedro's. Great service and food!

In town from Milwaukee visiting some distilleries. Happened to drive by this place while looking for something else. Turns out that something else doesn't exist anymore, so we settled on Hunters Grille. Not only was it extremely affordable ($22 for 2 salads and 2 beers), it was really good! I had a steak salad, asked for medium steak and got it. BF got bbq chicken salad, and the chicken was sooo tender. Both salads came with onion straws (more like full size onion rings) that were amazing as well. The only weird thing is that we were offered crackers with the salads; maybe this was only weird because we're from out of town. We were the only people dining out on the patio, and the service was pretty good. Slightly slow, but not enough to knock it down. Plus, server was very friendly.

We stopped here for lunch after a Four Roses Distillery tour. Our waitress, Tish (or maybe Trish) was nice and did a good job. Since it was Monday, the special was burgers, fries and a drink for $6.99. Our server suggested the burgers or steaks and we all ordered a burger. They were really good, but we were very disappointed with the fries. The were standard crinkle cut, but not very crispy and had an off taste (possibly not fresh oil for frying....). As my family will tell you, we don't trust someone who leaves a plate of fries untouched, yet we all did. Because of the fries I would give them a three, but I would definitely try them again if I was in the area.

Attentive service but shabby decor. The menu offered flexibility but typical bar food. We had not eaten and we're going to be on the road for a while so we were glad to hit it

Disappointing service and overall visit. Our waitress was confused and distracted. Had to go to the bar to request silverware and condiments once our food arrived. Had to go back to the bar to request the check when we were ready to leave. Then, had to have someone remove the appetizer charge because they had run out. They were out of several items. Wish one of them had been the bluegill - it was poorly fried and did not taste fresh. No one seemed to mind that we were having trouble. No way I would return :(

I couldn't make this up if I tried. Maybe I just have high expectations. Maybe I'm more high maintenance than I thought. We stood at the hostess station for a few minutes before we were greeted (there were 2 other tables). The Hostess/Manager (not sure which) was incredibly friendly once she got to us and we were smiling by the time we got to our table. The server came to take our drink orders and greeted us by saying that it was her first day, so she apologized in advance. Have some confidence, girl! We were still hopeful though. We placed our drink orders (two diet cokes and one regular - nothing fancy, nothing alcoholic) and ordered some deep fried pickles at the same time. I have never waited so long in an empty restaurant for a non-alcoholic beverage! If I'm not mistaken, I think it came out WITH the appetizer. We waited and waited for someone to take our food order. To the point where the manager/hostess lady stopped by to ask if anyone had taken our order... we said no. So she disappeared into the bar and sent another server to take our order. On the menu was two salads I was debating between. The buffalo chicken and the chicken ceasar. So I asked if it would be possible to get the ceasar WITH buffalo chicken. She was enthusiastic when she said "yep!" My mom ordered the Wild Boar burger. She asked how she wanted it cooked. My mom asked "It's pork, right?". The waitress said "no, it isn't". That's confusing... so we asked for clarification. She explained that it was a beef burger with pulled pork on top of it. So, my mom said that if it's Beef, she wants it medium, but if it's pork, she wants it well done. My aunt ordered half a rack of ribs. The menu said you can get them dry or sauced, but she wasn't given that option. Food comes out.... delivered by our original server. She puts my salad down in front of me and says "She didn't tell me what kind of dressing you wanted, so I brought ranch"... I looked down at my plate and she had brought me the buffalo chicken salad, not the ceasar I asked for. I pointed out the error, but kept the salad since it was still one of the things I wanted. I ended up eating less than half of it because the chicken was chewy. Which likely would have been the case even if I had gotten what I ordered. My mom looks at her burger... it's a skinny little patty. Just a patty... no pulled pork. So she immediately cuts it open to investigate and discovers pink pork inside. She points this out to the server and the manager/hostess happens to be walking by so she stops to check out what's going on. We explain what the other server described the burger as, and she quickly took it away to have it cooked better. Ribs were tasty, but were slathered in sauce that wasn't really wanted. Overall, the service was painfully slow. Once requested, the server would take our empty glasses away for refills, but would not return with them for 10 minutes (once, she walked by after taking away the glasses, and I asked her where our drinks were and she said "she's getting them" and walked away. who?). Food was mediocre (although, the second star is specifically for their Mac & cheese... it was delicious.)

They are now closed. I'm not surprised aince their quality of food was headed downhill.

I'm a food snob from the big city and when everyone from my hometown kept telling me about the burgers from Hunter's Grill I smiled, said, "Sure, Sure" and then waved it off in my head. I invited my mom to lunch this past Sunday and she insisted we go to Hunter's. And while I am a demanding food snot, I also do what I am told and THANK GOSH I DO WHAT MY MAMMA SAYS! The selection of burgers was everything from straight up classic cheeseburger to regional highlight beer cheese burgers to spiced up jalepeno burgers and decadent blue cheese and bacon. The plate arrived with a burger so thick that a steak knife stood upright in the center but so moist that just barely moving the knife through the delicious stack had no problem cutting through the tender and super moist burger. It was perfectly cooked. I like med. rare, it came med. rare. My mom--still proving her smarts--order the house special wedged fries. They were seasoned, lightly battered, perfectly crisp on the outiside and steamy soft on the inside. They also went really well with the smoky bbq on the table for the crazies who would come here and order something other than a burger. I kid, I kid, pulled pork lovers--I plan to get that next time. The atmosphere was just right for the town and the service staff was impressive. I stood at the bar to change a $20 and although I was already being helped, every server that passed asked if I needed anything. I am going to admit something here. The next time I crave a burger, I am going to make the drive to Lawrenceburg. Hell, I will stop in at Four Roses to get a bourbon tour while I am at it. Life as a food lover ain't all that bad --especially when you listen to your mamma.

I'm guessing a lot of people, like me, have passed on by Hunter's Grill based on the outside appearance. It's in part of an industrial looking complex of metal buildings that doesn't really make it inviting. I'm glad I didn't let that stop me. I also assumed for a long time that I wouldn't be able to enjoy a restaurant in Lawrenceburg because of smoking, but I'm happy to say that restaurants like this one in town are seeing the light and smoking indoors is not an issue. We ordered the onion rings appetizer and they were some of the best onion rings I've had, and I loved the dipping sauce. I also had the Roadhouse Burger and Sidewinders and those were very good. The menu also includes some unusual offerings for the area, like wild boar and alligator. I've heard the service can be slow at times, but we had no problem with that. Our food came out fast, our server was attentive and offered our last drink refills in to-go cups, which I always appreciate. I'm really happy we have this as an option locally. Yay Lawrenceburg!

The food here was relatively average for what I'm used to. The service was quite good but the best part was the price - this place is super affordable

Great food, service and atmosphere! Get the pulled pork BBQ! So great! And cheap prices! Drinks served in mason jars, as they should be!

Thank goodness Lawrenceburg is finally getting a selection of places to eat. This last weekend my dad and I stopped in and I had one of the best burgers I've had in some time. I ordered the classic burger and it was well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and delicious. The steak fries were good too but I liked the homemade chips even more. The sweet tea is very sweet so a 50/50 mix made it just right. Staff was attentive and the restaurant is clean. Hopefully the owner continues to focus on keeping the place non-smoking so that all can enjoy.

Had the pulled pork sandwich. Very, very good and generous portions. I appreciate the steamed broccoli side dish as well as free wifi. Service was cheerful and friendly.

Ate at Hunter's Grill on August 3, 2014 around 2:00pm. Three in our party; all ordered burgers. One ordered the bison burger and it looked and tasted just like the others. Two of us wanted our burgers medium and although a decent burger, both were burnt to a crisp on the edges, and certainly not medium. The steamed broccoli was cooked perfect and the home fries were pretty good. We DID have to wait quite awhile for our drinks, meal and had to ask twice for refills. There were two tables of 8 or more - and maybe this was the reason for our extended wait. However, we noticed certain tables (with certain people) were getting "specialized service, and large glasses of ice tea" - - - - when we only got the small glasses of water and tea. I guess this place has the, "It's all in who ya know and who ya think you are" service concept. In my opinion, ALL customers should be treated the same, then again, what planet am I from? That's right, the planet of ALL customers matter. Regardless, all-in-all a decent experience and the food was acceptable.
