This is a favorite dinner spot for my family and I. My husband and I love the brisket nachos. The atmosphere is relaxed and homey and caters towards families by providing coloring books and tins of crayons. My daughter likes the BBQ sauce so much she puts it on top of her mac & cheese. We will continue to be regulars as long as it's open!

Parking was easy. Lots of seating...even outdoor patio. I tried smoked bologna and baked potato salad. I totally cracked up at the size of the bologna (see pic). Huge. I ate 1/4. The potato salad was the best I've ever had. I tried boyfriends ribs....mmmmmmm. fell off the bone, taste the smoke, juicy, and delicious. Thats why they are a barbecue place. They know how to do it right. Restroom was very clean. Price was reasonable. Server was friendly and did a good job. It was all good.

Amazing food and great service! Driving thru the area and saw great reviews for this bbq on yelp so we decided to try it! I got the pork bowl and loved it! My husband got the brisket nachos... Very delicious! Clean bathrooms too! Will definitely stop here again when in the area!

Good BBQ at a good price. We order clean with sauce on the side. Not overly spicy or smokey. To go is speedy if you call ahead.

Ribs are very thick and tender. Nachos with pulled BBQ is awesome. Potato salad may be the best I have ever had.

We love coming here. The food an service are always good. But the best deal is the family to go dinners. It makes a good dinner on a busy night so easy.

My husband and I were driving back to Cleveland from Nashville and were trying to find a place to eat. I used Yelp to try to find something in the area and we almost did drive-thru because I was dressed very casually in sweatpants for the drive back home. At first I was reluctant to go to a sit-down restaurant, but my husband would rather eat at barbeque than drive-thru. I am so glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious. We both ordered brisket, but I ordered onion rings (handmade - not frozen) and the baked potato salad (OMG - it was soooo good - but how can you go wrong with sour cream and bacon?). My husband ordered beans and greens as a side and was very happy. If we would have known how much food we were getting, we would not have started with a brisket nachos appetizer - a half order was still HUGE. It was also delicious. I prefer thinner nacho chips, but the brisket on top made it pretty obvious that you need a good chip to handle the amount of beef and cheese they put on the nachos. It was all great. I think we'll make that our new stopping point between Cleveland and Nashville!

Love the Brisket Pizza

I really like this little restaurant in Lagrange. A cute little town with the Big R's & Shannon's and Shannon's barbecue. The food was great and the restaurant was just off the highway.

Good food but the service leaves you a little disappointed. Today i had the brisket nachos-good but not my favorite. The brisket sandwich with waffle fries I had last time was much better. The taste is great and it is a pretty good portion. DO NOT go here if you're in a rush. You will never get your food before you have to leave. It consistently takes a long time to get anything here. Even once we finished eating and had money sitting on the table, the server still took 20 minutes to get us change Overall good restaurant despite the slow service, and I'm sure I will be back.

Place: 4/5 - southern, spacious, cute, clean Service - 4/5 - FAST, like very FAST friendly, welcoming Food - 4/5 - Fork brisket, no knife needed. Wow. Sweet potato casserole - GOOD. Has a way of getting better with each bite though... GOOD flavor Greens - I'd like a more bold flavor but there are those who would enjoy these. I make a pretty mean batch of greens myself so I have VERY high expectations lol. Overall I'd love to come here again....and I will.

Stopped here for dinner tonight. It was a little tricky to find via mapquest, but we finally made it. We sat out on the patio because it was so nice out. It's a little loud with traffic, but not horrible. Waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. I had pulled pork sandwich with onion rings and Mac n cheese ($11) and my friend had brisket with onion rings and fries ($12). The good was quick to arrive at our table and delicious. The brisket was really good. A nice honey place ... I don't make it out this way often, but will remember it next time.

I was in town and arrived less than an hour before closing. I ordered barbecue with sides. The restaurant is laid out differently. This will be short and to the point. Food: delicious. I cleaned my plate. Dessert: incredible. Staff: friendly and attentive. Decor: really home-y feel. If I was in town I would eat here again.

We ordered catering for 140 people for a company lunch and both the food and service was excellent. A big complaint I have is mixed in bbq sauce with pulled anything. I think it gives you the ability to hide crappy bbq behind it. They don't do that here. We had 51 pounds of meat (1/2 pulled chicken, 1/2 pulled pork) and it was all moist and flavorful. We chose the sides of potato salad and green beans, both got good reviews, but especially the potato salad. I highly recommend this location for catering and smaller meals as well.

The wings were amazing! Service was prompt and friendly. The rest of the food was pretty good too and for the price I would definitely return.

We stopped after being in a 2 hour traffic jam on I-71 and the bbq was so delicious that we left in a far better mood than when we arrived. Brisket was tender and spiced perfectly, green beans a perfect complement and the cornbread was moist. Service was friendly and speedy. We plan to stop again on our way home. Thanks for a great meal!

Awesome Barbecue. In my quest to eat local while in town on business, some locals recommended this place as a favorite. It lived up to its reputation. It's a tiny hole-in-the-wall BBQ place, very VERY easy to miss from the road as you drive by. Even with a GPS I overshot it at least once. However, once you get in, it's some of the best barbecue I've had in years. The decor is friendly, casual without being too casual. The servers were very friendly and very attentive. The food, that was the star though. I had a half-rack of ribs, unsweetened tea, green beans and macaroni and cheese. The ribs were great, they were meaty and tender and savory. The sauce was pretty good too. Everything was well seasoned. The prices were reasonable for the quantity of food. It's not high cuisine, it's not fine dining, but it IS an outstanding local BBQ shack and I will most certainly be back when I'm in town on business again. I look forward to trying the sweet potato casserole and maybe a half-chicken next time.

We crossed the state line from Ohio and were itching to try BBQ. Big R & Shannon's was the place to try in the quaint town of La Grange. After checking the antique shop, we crossed the road and went for it. Service was friendly and the ribs did not disappoint. Tender fall off the bone pork ribs with a nice smokey flavour. Baked beans were also good as was the smoked bologna sandwich. What a great way to start our BBQ trip through Kentucky, y'all!

It had been a while since I had written a review so I thought I would write an update. It's not Memphis but, it's the closest thing to it. They have a new item on the menu, a Pork bowl. It's a big piece of cornbread covered with baked beans, slaw, onions and BBQ Pork. It is absolutely delicious.

Yummmm!!!! Stopped here on a road trip to Nashville and I'm so glad we did! The ribs and chicken were amazing!
(5)Emily B.
The brisket here is seasoned very well. The potato salad was a dream come true! My husband had the platter of three mini {slider} sandwiches with macaroni and cheese and waffle fries. He said the waffle fries are the best he has ever had. We enjoyed being able to sit outside on the patio, since it was a very pleasant evening. The service was prompt and friendly. Excellent local fare!!
(5)Russ T. S.
Everything was delicious! The pulled pork had a great flavor and there was no fat to pick through. The BBQ sauce had a great flavor. The mac n cheese, beans, onion rings, and coleslaw were all pretty good too. Service was quick as well.

Excellent bbq - pulled pork bowl and brisket. Get the sweet potato casserole - yum yum.

Craving BBQ so I thought I would give it a try. Called to see if there was anything peanut/nut prepared items for my wife's allergy and they told us a few items but said all their meats were safe. Tried the nacho brisket, ribs, Mac and cheese, beans and corn bread. Liked it all. The nacho chips might contain peanut or nut (per the staff it comes in a big white bag with no specifics) so we got it on the side and used our own. I will say parking is a hassle and I missed where to pull in the first time. But the food was great and we will be back.

First, the address listed is the OLD location. I found that out by my Groupon print out vs. the GPS (that's right, I ain't from 'round here). The waitstaff was fast and friendly. The ribs were very good, fall off the bone tender with just enough sauce not to over power the meat. I had a side of greens, cooked perfectly, and a side of sweet potato casserole, which were friggin delicious. If you are in La Grange, by-pass the chain restaurants and eat some real BBQ at this joint.

Best barbeque in town, amazing cornbread, everything is delicious, best place to eat in la grange

Went back and didn't suffer any ill effects. The low-carb wrap is very tasty and cheap. The baby back ribs were also tasty but very expensive. $21 for a full rack is pretty steep for La Grange dining. The new location's parking lot is horrible. If the lot was full, you'd never be able to exit. Please re-mark the lot.

Great food and service. I especially like the pulled chicken wrap.
