Generally when I review something - books, movies, restaurants, ETC. - I do my best to focus on the positive elements and ignore the little negative elements... However, this time around the negative elements are not so little and cannot be ignored... On the evening of May19th, 2015, I ate what can only be described as the worst tasting meal of my life. That's saying something... I've had a lot of awful meals... but this one stands King. It looked as if it would be delicious, and the presentation of my meal was nice. But it was far from nice or tasty. In fact, it made me quite sick and lead to a night and morning of hurling my guts out multiple times. The kraut on my Reuben tasted like Kim Chee - that should have been an indicator that it was rancid. The corned beef was no better - It tasted as if it had been soaking in water for weeks... This was not a Reuben... It was an abomination. The chili was below average. It was edible, but failed to be better or even on the same level as Wendy's chili... And I'm not even a fan of Wendy's chili... However, the coleslaw was decent and the only thing served that was memorable in a positive light... But the spoonful portion was very laughable... Those with me had ordered the dinner special, and I sampled it. The entrée of the dinner special was a Chicken Casserole... It was awful... A mix of stringy chicken and some sort of generic stove-top stuffing with cream of chicken soup... I noticed much of the other patrons dumping their portion of the "casserole" in the trash as they walked out. A clear indicator that I wasn't alone in the feeling of being dissatisfied by this concoction. The instant mashed potatoes and gravy were alright, but nothing to revel over. The macaroni and cheese was the plasticky kind... No flavor, just gummy, yellow and shiny. I didn't sample the roll, but considering all else, I am assuming that I didn't miss anything. The dinner special, entrée and sides were served on one small plate and the entire meal was squished, smushed, jammed and thrown on the plate together... It was chaos with no space of separation for the items on the plate, which made the presentation of the dinner special very ugly and unpleasant to look at. While I'm not picky if my food touches, a restaurant must consider those that are. And since we eat with our eyes, it's always nice to look upon your plate and enjoy what you are looking at. It was not enjoyable to look upon. The atmosphere of this quaint little coffee shop wasn't half bad. It was a welcome change for the area, as we do not have many similar settings. I had tried a Caramel Macchiato from here several months back and was moderately pleased with the latte. I sampled the Chai that my wife ordered and it had a bit more cinnamon than I care for, but it wasn't bad. We did not order food on that occasion, so that was not a negative experience. The pies on May 19th, 2015 looked absolutely delectable. I cannot call from memory what selections of pie were available, and I do not know their prices, but the portions were very generous, which only added to their appeal. They rested in a case by the cash register as we ordered and paid for our meal. I could not keep my eye off of them. However, we did not try them. The staff were friendly, and our food was brought to our table in a timely manner... They forgot our forks, but they did offer us culinary ware after bringing the table next to us their meal. But then again, serving guests food that will give them food poisoning isn't very "friendly" Altogether, Miller's Cafe miserably failed to serve worthy meals... I was REALLY hoping that they could live up to expectations. I really wanted to walk away from my meal with a smile and a great experience to blog about. I wanted to be able to brag on this local place... What we were served was very horrible, very over priced food. I give it 1 star, only because I cannot award a lower rating.
