Make no mistake, this is a getaway... from everything kinda place. No cell service, far from the idea of town, type of getaway that I'd been to in a long time. Don't depend on a GPS either. Listen to the directions carefully. We may or may not have gotten lost on the way up. I wasn't in charge of the planning or preparing of the directions this trip, just getting that out there. This was my second B&B experience and I must say that after my first experience at another B&B, I'm surprised that I entertained the idea of trying again. I did, and I'm glad. Snug Hollow not only has the main house that houses the meals and several rooms, there is also the original house that was the first one built over 100 years ago on the property. I went in it and it is immaculate. There are also two other cabins separate from the B&B. We stayed at the Cabin By the Creek. Which is a private cabin... meaning there aren't several rooms like there are in the main house that hosts the meals. We checked in a few hours earlier than the actual check in. When we arrived we were greeted by Barbara, the owner and a true example of southern hospitality. People probably come there and pay to stay, just to have a conversation with her, she's really that great. She drove us to the Cabin By the Creek on a golf cart. At first we thought it would be far away from the actual B&B and where we would park our vehicle, but it wasn't really that far. The cabin wasn't visible from the B&B but was within a very short walk. There was a pond behind the cabin and a hammock that I dreamt about as soon as I got home. We didn't do much walking, but there are several hundred acres to explore. So bring comfortable walking shoes or boots. One of my favorite parts about the experience was that all of the food was vegetarian. If you've ever been curious about vegetarian food or think you're convinced that there isn't anything you'd like, I highly recommend that you pay the extra fee and eat lunch or dinner. We chose the dinner, it was $30 per person but worth not having to head back out to town or cook something myself. Not to mention that everything was scrumptious. The first thing my husband asked was "what's for dinner?" We had no clue what it was until we arrived back to the B&B at 6:30. I told Barbara about my slight allergy to tomatoes and she made me a homemade pizza with pesto... I'm serious when I say that it was the best pizza I've ever eaten. The crust was indescribable, like the best bread that you've ever had, laid out and topped with things that taste so good that you wouldn't know that they were good for you too. The meal started with a bean soup and we got seconds and offered to serve as much as we wanted. It also came with a salad and finished with a chocolate pie and ice cream. After eating food that great, I left inspired to cook and prepare healthy similar foods. Barbara has a cookbook too. So, you might want to look around the room and read a bit of history in it. It tells a bit about the background of the place. I don't want to even talk about the breakfast because it makes me think about leaving. The breakfast that was just as tasty as dinner, was served at 9 and check out was at 12. Not because I wanted to, but because of obligations at home, we checked out soon after breakfast. I must not forget to mention that there are 7 people on staff there. So it's not just Barbara doing it alone. I'm sure she's awesome enough to do it, but the total package and the way it's ran, makes it perfect.

This is the definition of serenity. Peaceful, quiet during the day. Just the small trickle of a creak flowing in the distance. The owner Barbara is an amazing host. We hit traffic and accidents on our way and she accommodated us arriving very late. Rooms were very spacious. Seperate showers too. Clean clean clean. I was very impressed. This place truly is out in the middle of no where. Just a great place to go to get away from it all, including any cell service! One thing to note is this is a vegetarian food service. I love my meats. But this food was amazing! I was looking for the perfect spot to propose to my now fiancee, and Barbara suggested the trail behind the house. At sunrise just as the sun edged over the mountains, the crisp dewy air lit up with rays of sun, I knew this was the moment and perfect place. The one flaw of this little gem is the beds. They are super soft. So be prepared for this. The place had such amazing everything, that I can't take 1 star away for this 1 single fault.

As a part of the Center for International Education from Berea College, I participated at a luncheon at Snug Hollow Farm Bed and Breakfast. From the moment I approached the Snug Hollow Farm, I felt the tranquility of the place and I started to enjoy the magical comforting atmosphere. I fell in love with the spectacular rustic beauty, the calamity of the area, and, of course, the tasty homemade food. I enjoyed a delicious fresh salad with spaghetti and, for desert, I had ice-cream with delectable jam. The staff members were extremely friendly and welcoming. It was an excellent experience!

Snug Hollow's name fits it perfectly as it is snug beneath the peaceful mountains and rolling hills in Irvine. This place serves as a magnificent getaway location to just come and enjoy a relaxing evening or weekend away from the chaos and constant movement of daily work. Along the Bed and Breakfast there are wrap around porches with wooden rocking chairs to just relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. This Inn had a warm, inviting and comfortable feel that will make you not want to leave. It serves as a great retreat giving you a "home away from home".

I love this place for staying, mainly, for the nature. This place is located almost in the middle of the jungle. It is such a nice place to chill away from the cacophony of cities and even small towns. The cottage looks fabulous and relaxing. My friends and I went to the property but we couldn't get in there because there was no one over there. Therefore, we just checked out the surrounding and it was nice. The bottom line for this place is that if you want to get away from crowded places, this is the right place for you.
