Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
This is my first ever review. I normally just read them but, this experience was too much not to share. I am not even sure where to start. We had to wait nearly 10 minutes for our waitress to bring menus. When we finally ordered the 2 for $20 we were served half cooked boneless chicken wings. I took a bite into the half frozen wing and almost puked. I called the manager over and all she did was offer to replace the appetizer. At this point I wanted to leave and made the terrible decision to continue the meal. My wife got the oriental chicken salad and it barely filled a small plate. When the manager came to check on us again we asked if the 2 for $20 came with a small salad since the menu didn't mention this. She saw the plate and apologized again. This time she offered a free dessert to make up for the mistake. At this point we just wanted to leave but thought it might be worth it since it's hard to mess up a Pre-made cake that's warmed up in the microwave. After a long 15 minute wait we were wrong...the spoon that come out with the dessert had lettuce stuck on it and the ice cream was half melted. I had dined at this same Applebee's 3 or 4 times previously and had never been satisfied. It had been about six months so I thought I would give them another chance (and I had a gift card). I didn't think it could get this bad. I will never eat there again and suggest you do the same.

Bad food, bad service. Potato Twists were saturated in oil. Oriential Salad was warm and wilted. The Chicken Stacker Parm. was servered without garlic bread. The chicken was burnt on one side and soggy on the other, the pasta was hard and stuck to the plate. The manager was apologetic and took care of the ticket.

I'm not a fan of any Applebees, but since this one is local I have tried it a few times over the past 10 years. And its bad. Bad servers. Once my hubby and I ordered 2 simple entrees they were served cold, and he complained to the waitress and she said well, what do you want me to do? DUH! On another occasion we ordered an appetizer and the entrees came out first, my hubby said cancel the appetizer and the manager came out with a huge attitude and was very rude, like it was our fault. I could go on and on. Also you will run into a rough crowd at night, rednecks and loud mouths drinkin the night away. Don't go, bad food, bad service, rough crowd.

If you go to the hoptown Applebee's try to get into Zachariah area. He is the best server in the area. I have been to Logan's, and o"Charlie's and accepted terrible service because I never likes Applebee's food but having great service makes going to Applebee's the easy choice.

All I can say is awful. Awful from the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out (literally). The hostess had to be told by the bartender to seat us. Then we sat there a good 5 minutes then the hostess came back to get our drink orders because now they couldn't find the bartender (not kidding). A waitress from another section finally came to take our order and the bartender finally decided to come back to work. We ordered one app and two drinks. Thirty minutes later no drinks (I ordered a Long Island iced tea but my husband ordered a beer, I get that mine takes a sec to make but come on, pick up a cup and pulling a lever doesn't take long). At that point we decide to leave. I hope that they improve because Hopkinsville needs more restaurants and I hate to see anything fail.
The service was on point. Very impressed compared to other locations in the area. The grub was also very good. Food prepared to a great standard. Also impressed because of service of other locations. The Applebee's is also clean. Way more clean than other Applebee's I've been too. Great place to eat with the family. P.S. Get the brownie bite.

I am a fan of applebee's..... that being said this was the worst one I have been to. Normal food for the franchise not great but serviceable. Speaking of service it was pretty decent but the place was dirty, and we waited to be seated for over a half hour after we had called ahead to have a table of seven seated. Anywho not great but to be expected in HopTown.

We went to Applebee's every week, we loved the food ! Then the menu changed, our favorite salmon plate was no longer available. The salads even changed, our favorite dressing just disappeared !! Then we checked out the bar and bar appetizers! The $2 Brewtus and large assortment of beers on tap as well as mixed drinks and wine was appealing ! We dine out quite often and have added Applebee's back to our list. I still miss the veggie burger ...it was among the best around. Beef, especially in the U.S., is NOT one of the best food for anyone ... It's just a lot of cholesterol and fat with not much flavor ! The bar drinks , appetizers and bar service are their strongest assets.

Applebee's. Not my favorite and I was about to give up on Applebee's BUT the bar is a real value. Beer of the month on tap in a Brewtus for $2, that is AWSOME The appetizers are cheap enough after 9 ( half price) but nothing I would rate as exceptional. We had sweet potato fries which I really like and they were good but not up to the non chain bars. So overall Applebee's will remain on my when nothing else is available list. Good but not great.

Go somewhere else! Trust me! Poor service at 1pm had 8 tables and services and food stinks! It's was horrible for an Applebee's
It's an Applebee's, what do you expect? Me, my DH, and in-laws enjoyed the food and service. Waitress was polite, sweet teas tasted as they should, and everyone liked their food. The only reason I took off a star is because the bread to my sammie was a little burnt, nothing really to whine to the manager about.

Personally they need to work on everything. I waited for a seat for over an hour because the hostess wanted to wander around and look "busy." There were tons of open seats. I know there is usually a rotation for seating but when I hear a server say please sit me I need tables, that's when I know you just don't want to do your job. FINALLY, after being seated we ordered. I ordered a Sirloin with shrimp and a baked potato and a salad. It took well over an hour for all of that, being that the place wasn't so busy I didn't understand. Then when I received it my steak was OVERDONE, my potato was undercooked, I never received the salad, and the shrimp was dry. The only good thing that came out of my experience was my cold glass of water. I then requested to speak with a manager seeing that I was very unhappy. She acted as if I was crazy but paid for my meal anyhow. She took my name and number for the district manager to call me but he never did. Not that I really expected it. I was there for almost three hours... To put it very nicely I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I was starving when I left and had to go to a fast food place just to eat. Never again will I waste my time there.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.

Horrible! Called in an order for 4 entrée's and received them 45 minutes AFTER the initial 45 minutes they said it would be ready by. The orders were incomplete and cold (ex: bourbon street chicken and shrimp was dry and had ZERO shrimp). My family will and the family that ordered with us will avoid this establishment. I understand it was one incident. However this was unsatisfactory service by the kitchen staff. A smile and an apology by a random hostess does not excuse the poor service.

We went here because I received a gift card as a Christmas gift. Applebees isn't usually my first choice but I haven't been in years, plus it was a free meal. We ordered the 2 for $20 special and got the potato twists, which were slightly over cooked and rather salty, but still good for the most part. I ordered the bourbon chicken and shrimp and my fiancé ordered the chicken pasta. Our meals were good and we enjoyed them. Service was average, nothing great. She refilled our drinks when needed. I did have to exchange me tea since it was very over brewed. Can't say we'll be back any time soon but it wasn't a bad experience.
