The only reason this restaurant gets 3 stars is because of it's decor. It is cute and clean and compared to Mi Casita, it is much, much better in every way. The food and margaritas are good enough, but we had to wait 45 minutes to get a table, when the restaurant wasn't full and then we waited for at least an hour for our food. By the time the food came, the children in our party were exhausted and didn't even feel like eating. They could do much better.

This makes my fourth time eating here and each time is just as bad. I will not be returning. The thing I love about Mexican food is the fact that I can go in, order, have delicious food in seconds and pay quickly. None of that is an option here! Rude workers, slow service, loud, and the food isn't the best either.

Tried Pepe's for the first time tonight and you know what? Not too bad. To be honest though, I think it was the people I dined with. They were a fantastic bunch. If the meal experience with them wasn't such a delight, then I would been inclined to think Pepe's itself is just OK. Pepe's is bright and eclectic (we spent some time staring at the mural in the lobby, contemplating the objects in the picture) with a spacious dining room (with several televisions tuned to sports channels) and an extensive menu of various Mexican dishes and drinks. Chips & salsa are served when you are seated (they were OK) and after you order, the food arrives rather quick! After looking at the vegetarian section of the menu, which had more than just "bean burritos" as an option (woo-hoo!), I ordered a vegetarian fajita. It arrived as a pile of steaming hot vegetables alongside a plate of rice, beans, & toppings. Upon first glance, it seemed like a huge portion. But somehow, I managed to eat it all. Delicious? Yes. Best ever? Nah. It was just a normal veggie fajita. Delicious enough to eat but not stunning. All the dishes on the table looked equally filling and mildly delicious. I can't judge though, because I didn't try them. Food prices were typical for chain Mexican restaurants. Would I come here again? Yes, if someone else suggested it. And maybe next time, I'll try one of those margaritas.....

I've visited this establishment several times & about half off the time they mess up my order. I always order a Chicken FAJITA chimichanga & I specify that I want the veggies (just like the fajitas) but they always just deliver my chimi with plain chicken. I'm done with this place. They make no attempt to correct their issues nor do they even offer a simple apology. I plan on sticking with Mi Casita on the other side of town (where the chicken fajita chimichanga is actually on the menu).

I would go there again. Seems like they put extra effort and you can taste the difference.

Let me start by saying I LOVE Mexican food. I could eat chips n salsa like it is my job! This is literally the only chips n salsa I have ever turned down. The chips were cold, tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. The salsa tasted like it was about to be out of date. I ordered a Mango FROZEN margarita which arrived half melted and tasted horrible. I then tried the FROZEN strawberry margarita which arrived with a then layer of ice on top of a warm melted margarita. The strawberry tasted better but not nearly as sweet and fruity as would be expected. The food was decent but I can't eat Mexican without chips n salsa or good margaritas. The service was slow. We waited way to long between every interaction. Two hours we were in this

The food and customer service is excellent here. My favorite dish is the very reasonably priced Tilapia.

My husband and I had lunch here yesterday. I had the carne asada and it was flavorful! My husband had fish tacos and said they were excellent! They had a pineapple sauce, which was unusual, but great. Portions were large, chips and salsa were just ok. Service was slow. We will probably go back again.

This is a lot like most authentic Mexican restaurants. You can find anything from nachos to steak on this menu. The walls, tables, and chair are brightly painted and colorful like an aztec murals. You can eat on their patio if weather permits or inside the regular dining area. They can accommodate large parties if need be. They also have a bar area and offer a large selection on mixed drinks and a handful of beers. The service is always fast and friendly. You are promptly seated with chips and salsa which standard for most mexican joints. Their food is fast and average. If you are in a rush during lunch, this is the place to go.

Pepe's was fast service; polite; good food. We were seated immediately; tasty chips and smooth salsa with nice hint of cilantro appeared out if nowhere. Great place for kids too. Sangia went down easy and they also serve Dos Equis. Plenty of food even on childrens menu.

I give this place a B- on the food. The service and the ambiance are pretty typical for this type of place. The food wasn't great but it wasn't bad either and I think for the price we definitely got what we paid for. I would definitely eat here again as it is a great value option.

While spending the night in Georgetown, my wife and I we decided to have dinner at this restaurant per the recommendation of the hotel. The atmosphere was a little different, food was good, margaritas were lacking tequila and the service was down right awful. I must say that most of the other servers we watched were doing a good job. Eventually I complained to the owner/manager about the service and got nothing but attitude. No apology, just through my check on the table and walked off. I definitely see where our server got his work ethic and attitude. Save yourself the aggravation and stay clear of this place.

Whenever I am out of state on business, I make a point of trying the local Mexican food. You could say that I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of Baja cuisine - both cooking it and stuffing my face with the grub. I was pleasantly surprised that in a town with a billion fast food joints, bar n' grills, Steak n' Shakes and a lonely Applebee's - that there was an authentic Mexican restaurant. Tonight, images of sizzling fajitas were dancing in my head. The glowing sign of Mi Mexico seductively called to me, and I was watering - my mouth, that is. I quickly chose the Hawaiian fajitas: chicken, prawns, bell peppers, onions, tomato's, mushrooms, and big, fat, juicy, pineapple chunks! It was accompanied by a generous plate of re-fried pinto beans, Spanish rice, sour cream and a dollop of guacamole. Delish! (I thought I was the only genius that put pineapple in fajitas. Nice move, Mi Mexico.) The chips and salsa that conveniently showed up swiftly after I sat down were good. I've had better, but I've also had worse. The service was great, the decor was cute, and I am happy to say that Kentucky can hold their own with Mexican fare!

Nice decor love the wall murals! But the food could be better the vegetables were over cooked. The salsa was flat no heat at all and heavy on the tomato paste. I asked for a Salsa with more kick and received a Mole sauce yes it had more heat on the back end but again the flavor was flat almost bitter. The quesadilla was the best thing I ordered, nice and cheesy and a nicely browned and crisp flout tortilla. I will give them another try maybe, next time down to see the In-laws.

Nice little Mexican restaurant. Love their chicken soup. Low calorie too

Bland, bland, bland. I don't like it when I take bite of chips & salsa, a burrito, a chicken enchilada, rice and beans and can't tell the difference between anything. Maybe I should have tried the fajitas, they smelled good and might have had more flavor. The service was ok and the decor is interesting. But I would never choose to go back there.

Decent margarita, mild salsa, flavorful carne asada tacos, with standard retried beans and rice. We usually stop here when we are in Georgetown. I did not feel it was as good as two years ago (our last time here), but it appears to be under new ownership. Service was good.

The flavor was too bland... lacking flavor.. Chips and salsa was the only thing which was enjoyable

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
