This is a restaurant that I can honestly say, I've never had a bad experience with! The food is always on point- whether it be the dagwood, the pizza or those amazing jalapeño poppers! The service is always speedy and courteous, even when they are slammed- and, trust me, they do get slammed! They always have a decent beer selection and the atmosphere is great. It's definitely a place where you can bring the family to eat, after church, or come to hang out with friends, during a basketball game! If you're ever in Georgetown, looking for a place to eat, this is it!

Galvins is a local friendly bar and pub. The Stromboli is huge but the sauce isn't homemade. Still good fun. Bar food for guys. No vegetarian specials here. The number of patrons exceed staff ratio on a Friday night. Clean restrooms. Deal maker. Cold beers and lots of University of Kentucky fans. Family my owned and operated. Local hospitality (for Toyota employees).

This place is a near by favorite. Food is always great as well as great staff. The Jalapeño poppers are a great starter! They have a great beer selection as well. & Friendly staff.

Had a great grilled chicken salad with honey mustard dressing. Very good. It was a friendly staff and a very clean and nice atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone in the area wanting a nice place to eat that is not a chain.

This place is what it is. Pub/bar food. Frozen fries, chicken finger salads on iceberg, dressings from a jar. Servers are usually inattentive at best. If you want a loud place to watch sports and drink your over-priced beer, this is it, unless you're on the other side of town. Then you can hit the Applebee's. They have better food.

Food is good. Your best bet is to not ever go here with plans to be somewhere else on time. Went here for lunch with my wife and her coworkers, ended up canceling my order and going back to work with a rumbly in my tumbly.

Chose to pick/up Reuben and take it back to Hotel. Good service, and friendly. $2.00 draft beer, while waiting. Quick take out at at the bar. Portion- Reuben was great, not too oily, but moist and meat was tender with perfect portion of sauerkraut. The bread tasted freshly baked, and went perfectly with the sandwich. I added the onion rings, and they were a larger portion, perfectly prepared. This was a Thursday that I was here, and they were getting packed by 6:00 p m. Will try Muffuletta if I get another opportunity to eat at Galvin's.

Food was great and atmosphere was wonderful. Little things dropped the rating. Things like the server was a little distracted. Perhaps a one time event. The food was amazing. Though the server couldn't name the beers on tap (she wasn't new, I asked) they were good.

Galvan's has a very welcoming atmosphere where you can sit back and enjoy the company of a good friend or your family as well as take in your favorite sporting event on one of many televisions throughout the restaurant. The service is excellent and very friendly. The food came out fresh and hot and the aroma was mouth watering. My wife had the Reuben sandwich while our daughter and myself tried the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. Both were served with a generous helping of home made potato chips. I was able to try the Reuben as well as my own and both were delicious and the mixture of beef and sauce on the Philly and sour kraut were done to perfection. I highly recommend Galvin's for your next night out!

galvin's has decent food, a good beer selection (very important), good prices and a nice little spot in a nice little town. i think it's a bit of a dis-service to compare it to applebees because it is a LITTLE more original than that - plus the beer selection is way better. our server was pleasant and didn't look sideways at me when i changed my order after she had already entered it into the computer. even got to watch the mighty michigan wolverines playing basketball on TV! i had a big old sandwich that was good so next time i'll have to try the pizza. i was in town for work and i like to explore restaurants a little and i'll try galvin's again - but i'll still have the 2X IPA.

Living in Georgetown, our options are kind of limited on where to go for a night out but my wife and I always lime going to Galvins. Despite going there on 3 different occassions and them running out of whatever we ordered, we still continue to go back because it is a nice environment, good (basic) American food selection, average prices, and the service is generally where it should be. They have 2 projectors to watch the game or race if you are going for that along with a couple plasmas around the bar. This is ideal for any husband who has a short coversation attention span such a myself.

My wife and I and two teen boys had an fantastic lunch at Galvins. Service and food were great. Applebees type menu had something for everyone, including over 20 beers on tap! Total bill for lunch and 4 16oz beers was $45.00, not including tip. Owner was on the premises and very hospitable. Highly recommend.

Salad was not good at all. We also ordered the chips and salsa which they claimed to be homemade. It definitely was not. I had to send my dinner back. I ordered the cheeseburger instead. The cheeseburger was good though. Overall I would not go back. The waitress was not very polite and acted as if she wanted us to go after I sent my dinner back. Very disappointed in the experience.

A disclaimer: The reason for the 4 stars is mostly because of the lack of competition this little corner American restaurant has. After searching and googling and (attempting) to yelp for better options than the usual grease pit or fast food these small towns offer... Galvin's stood out. Clean, approachable, simple and uncomplicated cuisine. The service was prompt, attentive and genuine. No hiccup there whatsoever. The menu was... the usual. Sandwiches, burgers, salads, bar type app's, pizzas, stromboli's, and a large bar area with loads of beer. I opted for the soup du jour: gumbo. Flavorful with a slight kick. No complaints and for the entree, a grilled chicken salad. Usually I'm not so unimaginative but eh.. didn't wanna ruin my boyish figure. Nothing fancy or unpredictable but just what I wanted. A sit down meal, no frills, no clogged arteries.

We go here every time we are in Georgetown. The place was packed, service was excellent, and food was good. I had a hamburger, fully cooked and loaded with all the basics, great fries, and my ice tea was never empty. My husband enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak which he said was good and had a couple of beers. They have a nice selection of beers on tap. A nice place to go to when you don't want a chain. Closed on Sundays.

Nice restaurant in down town Georgetown. This restaurant/bar, almost pub feeling place serves pretty good food, drinks and has TVs for sports. The seating and booths all give a nice classy feel to it, and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Most of their foods come with chips which are great, but it is easy to ask for fries if you would prefer. I had their Philly cheese steak and was quite happy with it. Galvin's is a great alternative to chains in the area.

This place is one of the few unique, good places to eat in little Georgetown, Kentucky. Similar food options consist Applebees, O'Charleys, or other fast food chains without originality. It has little competition, yet I think it would still win my heart with its small-town charm, great clean atmosphere, and delicious food. I personally enjoy the calzone or pizza (white to be exact) and the buffalo chicken salad is also pretty amazing. This is a great place to go to meet up with friends, go on a date, hang out with family, or watch a big game on tv. Although the parking lot is relatively small so many people park around the block or on the street, that is never really much of an issue, and the fact that it is so cutely situated downtown next to the city's courthouse adds to its charm. They have a fairly good selection of beer and have pint nights one Thursday per month! During the summer, it hosted "Tastes of Georgetown" where local vineyards and restaurants gave out test taste tickets and there was a live band. This spot has been bought and sold many times, but I hope Galvin's is here to stay!

This place is awesome. A great beer selection on tap, good wings and a Rueban that is slap your momma good. Cool place to hang at the bar and meet new people, or have a quick bite for lunch. Well be back, as it is quickly becoming our go to place since we moved up here.

This place is great! The staff is super friendly. There are a ton of televisions. The prices are very reasonable and its in a cool location in downtown Georgetown. I would recommend that you check this place out. Why not five stars? I feel like the interior could be updated but don't let that stop you from checking it out!

This is GREAT!!!!!! They made us feel right at home. The service is awesome. The chicken wings were some of the best I have ever had. The bacon cheeseburger was a perfect size, and tasted great. My mom had the reuben sandwich, and she really liked it. The Kentucky Ale has a nice smooth taste, and it also goes perfectly with the wings!!!! It has a bar feel, but it is also very family friendly. Lots of tv's to watch sports. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. No brainer it is a must visit if your are in the area!!!!

Yelp helped me find Galvin's on a recent business trip through KY. So it is only appropriate to post a review of my own. Menu is straightforward -- sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups, made-to-order pizza and calzones. I had a cup of tortilla soup -- which was not prepared in the traditional way with a chicken-based broth, avacado, chips and pulled chicken. Nonetheless, it was homey and delicious. I also had their chicken salad salad with grapes and dried cranberries. The negative was the heavy use of iceberg lettuce. But the serving size and balance of veggie to meat was perfect. The waitstaff were all friendly and welcoming. There are TVs over the bar, so if you want to watch the game, you certainly can. The vibe was family friendly and people seemed to know each other pretty well. Kids walked (sometimes ran) between tables. Prices are completely reasonable. Only con: when a burger is on the menu, I am going to want fries (not chips).

It is a sport bar and we went with a very little expectation. A girl waited on us was friendly. We were pleasantly surprised. We had chile, salad, French fries and a Hawaiian pizza. All the food was fresh, delicious and homemade. I especially liked their pizza.
