We went to the Cracker Barrel after traveling all day. My parents wanted to go, it was familiar, so we went. The hostess was trying to be friendly and joking with the customers, but her joke (to the man by himself) was to suggest that they were going to walk him right out of the building! Way to be friendly. It may have been ok with the guy she told the joke to, but it fell pretty flat with the rest of us. And then she made the same joke to my dad! Not cool. Our waitress was wonderful. I wish I'd gotten her name. She was friendly, gave us the time we needed, made suggestions on the menu, and was there promptly for all of our needs. She was the bright spot of the night. The food was not. Corn muffins were cold and hard, biscuits were dry. The gravy on the Country fried steak was blah, not nearly peppery enough, nor hot enough. My parents, who are no gourmands, even found the food bland and uninspiring. You can do better.

Nice little Cracker Barrel. Stopped by for breakfast on my way to Woodford for a tour. As with most cracker barrel's the breakfast isn't the best. Everything is done on such a cheap mass scale, but none the less I keep coming back. The store itself was a perfect example of a store. It was clean and all the staff were very friendly. It was a close location to the freeway which was why we stopped. Quick and painless and most importantly of all, THEY HAVE MAPLE CANDY...if you have never had that then you need to stop by and get some.

This is your typical, close to the interstate, Cracker Barrel franchise. Since my last review of a CB, I still have yet to figure out where the name originates and I'm still thinking it might be a racial jab. Oh yeah, I'll forgive them because they have good food and my grandpa loved going to any Cracker Barrel. It was Father's Day and our brunch spot was chosen by my franchise loving dad, so of course it was Cracker Barrel. From the looks of the crowded parking lot, I thought that we would be waiting a while, but it our 15-20 minute estimated wait was only about 10 minutes. One pleasant observation that I made, was the iPad at the hostess stands. I don't think they've worked out the kinks of using such technology though. Just like at any Cracker Barrel, we start off by ordering biscuits and corn bread. Sometimes they bring out a crap ton, and sometimes they bring a few per person. Either way, they're free. For my meal, I ordered the vegetable platter... side salad, pinto beans, dumplings and cucumber/onion/tomato salad. Everything was great. It was the first time I'd had the cucumber/onion/tomato concoction, it was ok... mostly cucumbers and really not portioned big enough, in my opinion. The service was just ok. Our waitress kept forgetting things. But the meals were correct and prompt, so I was happy and so was my dad.

Ate at this establishment after coming off of a 2 hour traffic jam on the highway. The weather was bad and they were missing some employees, but the servers were in high spirits and handled it excellently. Our food was great and came out fast and they did well with the rush with how many people they had on hand.

Not the same good old southern comfort food. Greet, eat and leave your seat in 14 minutes. Half way through meal asked if we wanted carry out for the rest of our meal. Favorites missing from the menu. New server needed better coaching in customer service. Did not enjoy the experience. Long time customers. Dave J.

I love Cracker Barrel, but this location hasn't been the best time after time. Orders have often been taken incorrectly, have to ask multiple times for Apple butter, and this last time the biscuits they brought out were white (literally white... not golden brown or even tan!). I love CB and will likely come back since this is home, but they need to make some improvements.

I can't help it. I love the taste of Cracker Barrel's food. It reminds me of grandma and comfort. The location in Georgetown was well run. Service was quick and friendly. Food was hot and tasty. I had scrambled eggs, biscuits with gravy and hash brown casserole. To my surprise, they had some great clothes and jewelry in there. I bought a white lace blouse.

I have eaten at this Cracker Barrel twice and both times I enjoyed my dinner. The service is good and everyone who works here is very nice. I have to mention what happened to me at my visit yesterday to the Cracker Barrel. I met a very sweet woman named Sue. She was so nice and made my children feel very at home during dinner. Sue was eating dinner after her shift and was so sweet my three year old daughter asked her to come have dinner with us. Next time you to to this Cracker Barrel you should say hello to Sue and of course get some chicken and dumplings! Thank you Sue, your an amazing lady and you made my day!

Our waitress (Kasey) did a fantastic job of making sure our tea and coffee where full and that we had everything we wanted. The food is typical cracker barrel, very acceptable. The little "country store" used to carry some interesting useful things such as cast iron cookware, but seems to only sell battery operated flying pigs and such novelties.

Cracker Barrel was recommended by the hotel receptionist and it wasn't anything spectacular or special. I had asked the receptionist for nearby Southern food and this little joint definitely fit the bill. Cracker Barrel is a southern chain and apparently there aren't too many in the nearby Lexington area. Staff are friendly, polite -- ie even though this place is relatively cheap, the waitstaff don't skimp on their "southern hospitality" -- everyone that works here were so nice! I never had dumplins, and the waiter here even offered me to try some... Free of charge! I was definitely very surprised as this would never happen back at home in California. I ordered the fried catfish with fried okra and my friend had the cheddar broccoli chicken. Both food items were a little dry, but they definitely gave me a glimpse of southern cooking. Kentucky is known for their barbecue, so I perhaps went to the wrong restaurant. I wanted southern food and I definitely got it at a cheap price. Overall the food taste was alright, but it definitely satiated my hunger for the night. The little market out in front was really cute though. They sold random nicknacks, curios, and the sort -- reminded me of a place I used to frequent back in Vacaville, CA. The little market or "country store" definitely had that country feel which was very quaint and refreshing-- a rarity for those coming from California like myself. Overall the restaurant and country store gets 3 stars for the friendly and courteous staff... But if the food was a little less dry and a bit more tasty/flavorful then this joint would get that extra star. Overall, Cracket Barrel gets a solid 3 stars. Southern hospitality at its best!

To me, Cracker Barrel means a restaurant with great southern food served around a roaring open fire and sells random old world things that have kind of been lost in a time machine for a hot minute. With that said... This specific Cracker Barrel at some point has dropped the ball. Yes they have a fire and great southern food, but getting waited on and or seated is like pulling teeth. I don't think anyone still works here to be honest. If I were going in to buy penny candy sticks and some useless random country back scratcher then I am in luck. If I want to go have a country fried deep fried steak chicken then I am in business. If I wanted to leave a place after 2 hours smelling like smoke and grease, then I am in business. If I wanted quick service and seating in a well lit atmosphere, then I am shit out of luck. That is why this specific store has recieved 2 stars from me. Even the olds don't want to wait around this long to be seated here. That is bad. Where else are they gonna go?

Absolutely fantastic experience here today. Major winter storms were hitting Kentucky ad after being stuck in a two hour standstill on the highway we were starving and desperate for a meal. Every place was closed except this place! Went in and the service was excellent from start to finish. They were understaffed and one would think it would have been understandably slow, but it was perfect! Our waiter Joe was great, the place was immaculate, and the Host, cashier, and everyone else was smiling and friendly despite being overwhelmingly busy. The food was very fast and tasty. Highly recommend

I've been a Cracker Barrel customer for years. In my experience the food and service is always good, the prices are fair, and the stores are generally clean and well located. It's not the type of experience that I would generally take time to review, but tonight at the Georgetown store was very different. Not even a minute went by from the time I was seated until my server Laura B. approached my table. She was cheerful and upbeat and appeared to be genuinely happy that I was seated in her section. Laura was patient while I sorted through the lengthy dinner menu. After I ordered, the food came out fast, hot and correct and Laura came back promptly to make sure everything was okay. She even sold me a desert which I don't do very often. This young woman has old school manners and work ethic that made my experience very enjoyable. Compliments to the chef on the chicken and dumplings and blackberry cobbler, and bravo to Laura and the Manager who hired her. I'll be back very soon.

The customer service here is terrible! I went to the hostess stand to order a carry out. She proceeded to tell me I needed to wait in line for a cashier. After waiting behind 3 people the cashier simply picked up the phone and called a server to take my order. There was no one in line at the hostess stand, not sure why she couldn't have found a server for me. Upon taking my order the server was stopped by the gift shop manager before she made it back to the kitchen to enter my order. They stood there and proceeded to talk for close to 5 minutes. All this time I was waiting for my carry out which I was told would take no more than 10 minutes. The server brought the order out and advised she had not bagged it so she doubled checked for accuracy. Originally asked for plastic ware but wasn't in the bag, had to ask the cashier.

I am a long time fan of Cracker Barrel and will probably always be. However, for the last several months I have been less that satisfied with the service and food at the Georgetown restaurant. Something has changed, even to the biscuits. They no longer melt in your mouth and lack the taste of the past. They are "tough" and just not good. For some reason the service is now slow even during off peak hours. This might explain why the mashed potatoes are usually cold. This is one food that should always be hot. And then today I ordered pancakes with blackberry topping and was served blueberry pancakes (over cooked) with a small dish half filled with blackberry juice and 5 cold blackberries. I keep coming back every Sunday hoping to experience an improvement but so far I haven't seen any.

This past Sunday, we went to the Cracker Barrel in Georgetown, KY and had a terrible experience. I was in from Hawaii visiting my parents and my sister and her family came in from Tennessee. We had a party of 15 and we waited over an hour for seating because we all wanted to sit together. When they finally took us to our tables they split us into two tables on opposite ends of the restaurant. My mother called the corporate office to complain about the service. When they called back, they claimed my father told the host to split us into two tables. Not only did we experience poor customer service but they lied about our experience. I guess when it comes to them, the customer is never right. I am certainly glad we do not have a place like this with no integrity and poor customer service on Oahu.

I agree that the service has gone downhill. I did not get a refill on my water all night and when I asked for coffee with my meal, it took them like 10 minutes to get me a cup of coffee, so I took it to go. It's not that they were super busy, it's just our server never really checked on us beside bringing us our meal and grabbing the check. The restaurant had low energy and I usually love cracker barrels because everyone who works there usually seems to be so friendly. Not the case this time!!!

Asked for side of grits and didn't get it. Asked for cornbread and didn't get it. Asked for one fish and ended up with another. Ask for hot tea. They offer three but rather than offering me the variety the waitress get just gave me the one that she wanted to to save her time. All around lazy service

Yeah, this is kind of a remote outpost of a Southern chain restaurant to bother reviewing. But I've eaten a Thanksgiving dinner at this particular Cracker Barrel for a couple of years running, so I feel like it merits one. The food is Cracker Barrel standard-issue. I like Cracker Barrel food, it works and is priced right. The service is accommodating despite working on a holiday and having to deal with my family and I (and my incessant demands for more iced tea, a Thanksgiving tradition of sorts). The one off note was that they had run out of several desserts, forcing me to my third choice. Being stuck with cherry cobbler is definitely a first world problem, so can't be too harsh on that.
