We were traveling back from Tennessee and played the random food place game. This is the game where you see a sign and pull off the highway to see if they sell something resembling food. This is fun when you have an open mind and are willing to take a risk. It is a kind of restaurant roulette. Today we hit the jackpot. We found a nice laid back place that specialized in good Americian food. They had burgers, steak, and things like that. We shared one of their batter fried onion blossoms. Really good flavor with a fresh onion that was not to overcooked. I was in the mood for a burger. Since I already had the fried onions I went for coleslaw vs fries. The burger came out at the right temperature with fresh ingredients on top. The slaw was also good. They used a lighter dressing so it was crunchy and not gloppy. The service was very nice. Our main server was attentive and polite. She made sure we had everything we needed. Other servers in our section checked on us as well. They were service oriented. This was a nice run, well maintained, and friendly place for a nice lunch. I bet they do just as well for dinner.

Good people, great food, good price!!! I was very surprised about the quality of the food and how well it was prepared! By the looks of the building I was wondering how the food was going to taste. Not that it was bad but the food was way better than I would of thought. Fries were not so good. The server Amber B. Was pleasant to talk to and had that cute southern accent. Thank you!!! Oh yea! Try the Bock beer!!! Delicious haha

Over the past 5-6 years they have been in Franklin they have had their ups and downs. They started off with a bang!!! Bad management/ownership about a year after opening things went downhill. Cleanliness, friendliness and food quality. We quit going there for about two years. Heard around town it had improved tried it again. It had!!! The manager a sweet young lady "Tibbs" worked hard and won our business back. Earlier this year she left and a new manager started. My husband and I weekly to bi-weekly continued going there initially after the new manager started. Our LAST time to eat there was this past Saturday. And I do mean LAST. The past few months you can see it going downhill fast. The management staff finds cutting up with staff, hanging out and chillin' and I kid you not the manager said to a group "you're at the 'Ho-asis' yep, we just a bunch a Ho" (not my words - your managers words to a waitress along with a few less desirable things said on more than one occasion) to be a priority, the wait fir service and food is often very long, the food quality/versus price is very substandard, the preparation of food is always a gamble. Cleanliness is also an issue the past several months. Dead flies, alive flies, dust, sticky floors, a general unkeep feeling of this place. It is with much sadness I write this review. Franklin has few sit down dining options and I like to support local business and our local economy but I would highly recommend driving past this restaurant. I was generous with a two star rating but each time we continued to go back it would be a little worse than the last. I'm fairly certain they haven't hit rock bottom yet. My suggestion re-train your management on corporate procedures and people skills or get new managers.

I was there for lunch with a friend, we got great service and the chicken tenders were fresh, nicely cooked and seasoned, well played! I didn't care for the fries, but the tenders made up for it. Great decision to serve fresh foods.

While the service is not good at all the wildcat tea was very very good. The chicken pasta was very very good with mushrooms and bacon added.

We had stopped here before and had a great flatiron steak. This was no longer served. We ordered a steak which turned out to be very dry. That along with overpriced beer made our day. I must say that the service was very good. I would not stop here again

Bomb ass rolls, mediocre food, Amber Bock on tap. Go for the bread and beer! What more can you ask?

This place was great! A wonderful departure from all the fast food places along the interstate. Husband had fried chicken and stated if was some of the best he'd ever had. I opted for grilled chicken which was also grilled perfectly. Steamed Veggies were fresh and not drenched in butter and salad bar was fresh and lots of options. Some what limited of a menu, but this is a great spot for something GRILLED :) (or fried in my husbands case) --- oh and one of the best things... The rolls and honey butter... Who needs desert with those!?!

In a small town like Franklin, there isn't a whole lot to choice from and Oasis is one if their nicer restaurants. They have American fare food, we got steaks. I got the sirloin and he got the Rib eye. they were overcooked (i got mine med rare, which came out just under well done so it was OK...) It came with mashed potatoes (that were very bland, tasted like they were mixed with flour and no salt) and a side salad, which was the highlight, except for the dressing that was eh.. it was also strange that they don't have desserts or beverages on their menu... I had a coffee after dinner and i think they got it from the gas station across the street. If i wanted a cocktail and wanted to watch a sporting event, i would return, but other than that? i don't think so.

Oasis is a great name. There is a real lack of options here. The food was so-so, the staff was nice. I'm from Illinois so the smoking shocked me right out of the gate. I think it's unfair to rate based on this fact though, because I don't have a right as a visitor to complain on some towns culture. So taking that away from the equation, the food and price ratio gets a solid 3.

I stopped here with the family on a drive back from Nashville. While my food was just fine, my mother complained about a dry steak that she had to "saw" with her steak knife. It had dipping sauce with it, which she said helped the dryness a little bit, but her complaints seemed pretty legitimate. I think her meal ran about $12. That's too much to pay for a rubbery slab of beef, imo. As for Tom. K's earlier comment about the smoking section issue, I didn't notice any issue with our "non-smoking" section. If it did, I'm pretty sure my mother would have complained about that too.... As we pulled out of the parking lot, another steak house on the other side road evoked a feeling of buyer's remorse. Better luck next time.

Having refrained from dining here for a couple of years, I gave this place one more shot today. My work pal and I came for our lunch break and waited 45 minutes for food that never came! The waitress complained several times about being the 'only waitress' working today, so I didn't expect much, but when she came back by 30 minutes into our wait and advised that the order wasn't ever sent to the kitchen, my patience was nearly gone. 'Only 5 or 10 minutes more' she said. After 15 more minutes, we were gone; Never to return.

Food was standards fare. Nothing really exciting. Staff was friendly. But... the biggest issue is the cigarette smoke! There "non-smoking" section is wide open to the smoking section and the air system appears to be the same so it just spreads the smoke all over. It was an intolerable environment if smoke bothers you. Would never recommend or return.

This new restaurant serves Tex-Mex food in a clean and modern setting. Locals may recall Tumbleweed up in Bowling Green--the Oasis is basically a copy of Tumbleweed. I liked Tumbleweed and was disappointed when it closed a couple years ago. I'm thankful to say the Oasis is an acceptable alternative. My brother and I ate at the Oasis for lunch on a weekday. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger with fries--the food was well prepared and fresh with plenty of bleu cheese on the burger. The lunch menu was pretty simple with classic southwestern options (ribs, steaks, burgers, wraps, quesadillas, fajitas, etc). Prices weren't bad at all--my lunch was $7.50-ish (no drink). I'd like to eventually return for dinner--their steaks look decent and are reasonably priced. I know some people in Franklin complain that the Oasis is too expensive, but I really don't think it's overpriced (even relative to other south-central Kentucky restaurants). The interior was surprisingly nice. Lots of new flat panel TVs are scattered around the restaurant. Bonus points for being able to watch opening rounds of the French Open. Bonus bonus points for the fact that my favorite tennis player--Roger Federer--was coincidentally playing while we were eating lunch. This is the second Oasis to open in Kentucky--the other is in the Owensboro area (I think). I wouldn't be surprised to see them trying to expand a little more in the next couple years, especially in the absence of Tumbleweed. Bottom line: decent food in a new, nicely designed restaurant. It's nothing spectacular, but this is definitely good to see in Franklin! I'd give it three stars, but I'm bumping it up to four stars since it's in Franklin.

We eat here frequently and I think only one time out of a couple dozen did we have slow service. I love their ribs, salmon and the fried tender wrap. Homemade salad dressings are delish. Try the peppercorn ranch!! Kids always get pasta and there is enough for lunch the next day.

Well some you win some you loose. Worst and fattiest ribs I've ever had. If you are traveling and staying at one of the hotels don't bother. Plus they are still living in the 90's with ash trays all over the place. Better to just go to the Cracker Barrel next door or head into town for something else.

I bought the Ribeye steak medium rare..... On the 3rd steak they finally got it cooked right, (mean while my husband was finished eating) but it had so much F A T we left with a doggie bag for my dogs.... We are truck drivers so we walked down from the truck stop to try and get a good meal... This was a mistake we won't do again... Go eat at the Cracker Barrel next door the food is much better there.

I would go next door to the Cracker Barrel. We have stopped each year for the last 3 on our way through. It seems it should be a good restaurant, but each time we have been disappointed. The food is bland, the interior is getting dated, the wait staff does not know what beer is on tap, etc. Since the food is overpriced and smoking is allowed, why bother stopping here. The staff tries to be personable and meet your needs, but overall we have decided to skip The Oasis.
