Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I stopped in for lunch with a colleague while on a business trip. Our waitress was great, very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa. Chips were standard, salsa was bland. We didn't bother asking for anything spicier as we didn't want to fill up on chips anyway. We both ordered the lunch special for $7.99 (chicken fajitas). The meat was not quite dry, but a little overcooked and there was little seasoning with the meat, onions and peppers. It came with refried beans, lettuce, tomato and a dollop of guacamole (not enough for one enchilada). The food was not bad, but it was nothing special.

This is one the nicest Mexican restaurants that I've been to...which says a lot because I eat Mexican very often and I'm very picky when it comes to cleanliness and decor. The food, chips and salsa were excellent. I got the $8.99 fajita taco salad. I always ask for the cheese sauce on the side because the taco shells get soggy by the end of the salad...that's with any cheese sauce on a salad. The service and waiter were prompt and impressive.

Beautiful patio and great service, however, the food is horrible. I had a taco salad, which was the worst I've ever had. The salsa was extremely bland and nothing had any flavor whatsover. Really bad food.

Excellent restaurant with great waiters. We had Antonio tonight and he was really on the ball with everything and had a great sense of humor. Would definitely recommend you checking this place out. It's very close to interstate 64 exit 58

The simple fact that it is Cinco de Mayo and your out of chips, strawberry margarita, and poor customer service. Will never eat here again. I will stick to la fiesta grande which they at least have a drink menu! I'm over this please then the owner wouldn't not come the our table like I asked to talk about all of the problems I had today. The. When I walked up to pay he left!!!!!!! How rude. So Miguel's is off my list forever you won't get any money from me! You don't even deserve this star!

Found our way here to start a weekend birthday celebration, and we had a nice spot on the patio on a beautiful June night. There is a band, it was pretty decent. It was very busy on the patio, and the service was great. I did find it amusing that it's next door to a taco bell. I would definitely go back.

This is my new favorite restaurant. The salsa and chips are amazing. I had the California burrito with steak and I've never had anything like it before. It was fabulous Added note: we went back again and it was even better the second time. Try the tamales. They are great.

This place was recommended by the staff of the hotel I was staying in, and man it did not disappoint! Irony defined is the fact it is next to a Taco Bell. The cheese dip and salsa I started with were as good as any I have had (after I kicked the salsa up with habanero sauce, of course). I ordered the shredded beef chimichanga and it was absolutely delicious! Unlike many Mexican restaurants I have eaten, they didn't deliver a small entree and a huge amount of fried bean and rice. The entire presentation was nicely balanced and very satisfying. This will now be a regular spot for me when I make an annual visit to Frankfort!

Pretty good food and drinks. Everyone enjoyed it. Definitely would come back again...that is if I lived here or planned on coming back to this town.

I stopped in last night with my 85 year old father for dinner and drinks. We sat on the patio and 30 minutes later even though servers walk back and forth by us, no one had taken our order. After I flag a waiter down he took our order, and seemed irritated that I bothered him. They brought our drink but no menus, and asked and I quote "what do you want to eat" I said well we have no menus, and he took a deep breath and walked away . When he came back I paid for our beers and left. I will not never be back and will tell everyone I know not to waste their time. They would be better off going next door to Taco Bell.

I wanted to walk somewhere from my hotel. It was either here or a Roadhouse steak place. The food was okay. The service was good. I might come back, I might not. I am sure that I will be happy either way.

Let me preface this by saying I grew up in a Hispanic house, so my standards are pretty high when it comes to Mexican (or Tex-Mex) style food. I want to point out that this is just the Tex-Mex style and not actual Mexican. When I got there, I got seated right away. We had decent service throughout the night. The margaritas are a bit weak for my taste, but I really like tequila. The chips were normal and the salsa was able to have a subtle smoky Chipotle flavor--which I happen to find unpleasant, but that really is just me. I do not enjoy Chipotle flavor in anything, so the salsa is just not my thing. I saw that tortas were on the menu and I had not had a real torta style sandwich in so long. The only one on the dinner menu was the steak torta. It came with a side and they gave me fries. The steak itself was in one big piece and it wasn't fork tender so it really needed to be cut before adding it to the bread. The steak lacked flavor and seasoning. It game with lettuce, tomato and huge onion slices. There was also cheese and maybe mushrooms on it, but the sandwich was still dry. I asked for mayo to put on it. This was not the torta I was used to. The reason for the one star is when I went to the restroom, a server was in there. She went to "wash" her hands and just ran them under water. No soap. I am glad that happened after I ate. FAUX PAS!!

The basics of casual Mexican dining are hard to mess up and rarely will make you sick (but stay away from seafood in land-locked locations). We went for a simple carnitas (roasted pork) platter and a combination plate of burrito, tacos and the usual sides of frijoles and Mexican rice. It was all tasty and fine. They had Mexican beers like Corona, but not Bohemia (we chose Dos Equis instead). There was a live band, but seen and heard only if you went out to their patio, making it easier to converse inside. The decor is a veritable riot of fiesta colors and pseudo-Mexican knick-knacks. Our waitress was mostly clueless, but genial.

Nope. Just no. This was cookie-cutter fake Mexican with no flavor, expensive happy hour margaritas and a rude wait staff.
