I love this place! I tried the vegan chocolate cupcakes with matcha and they were delicious, same as the black milk tea. My boyfriend ate their signature coffee cake within seconds and said it was the best. Yesterday's is a great find especially for a vegan living in Kentucky.

Disclaimer- I'm not a tea person. BUT I stopped by here for some coffee and treats on the way to the airport. The location is a very interesting U-shaped amalgam of rooms, composed of separate tea tasting, dining, and cafe rooms. You can certainly pick and choose where you'd like to go (sit down brunch, just coffee, etc.), and there are lots of little nooks to hang out in. It's a little confusing at first, but for regulars is probably perfect. There's everything from swaths of tea to wine, coffee, espresso, baked treats, and brunch. I opted for some Guatemalan coffee and soup in the cafe, which were sort of average but enjoyable. The baked goods (had a peanut butter chocolate bar) are great. Again, I can't testify for the tea, but the food/coffee was good enough for a stop-by meal, and the staff are so incredibly warm, comforting, and helpful. I would give the coffee and soup only 3.5/5, but this is a quirky, cute little place with great people, and is probably a haven for tea lovers.

This place is amazing the staff is extremely knowledgable .. They have a variety of teas unlike any place I have ever been to before . The food is amazing and the atmosphere reminds me of a Swiss ski chalet on one side and a village shop on the other .. Its so cut and rustic that you will want to snuggle up with a good book and read the day away with great tea :) excellent ..
I've been buying my tea, and having lunch from time to time, at this place for years. Everything here is top notch as far as quality goes. I never run out of new types of tea to try. The servers are always knowledgeable and friendly. The only thing I wish could be changed would be adding some more comfortable seating options. As much as I enjoy the look of the place, sitting on a hard wooden chair does nothing good for the back and buttocks.

Have been going here since it opened. Love the food, it's always so fresh and inventive. Susan and her staff are all top notch. Whether you have reserved a special tea, or are just dropping in for lunch they make you feel special. One of the hidden gems of the area. Give them a shot, and you will not be sorry.
I'm new to the NKY, and also new to drinking tea, and Yesterday's did a great job of making me comfortable with both of those things. Their staff was friendly and very knowledgeable, and really was patient with me while I made my selection. Yesterday's has a huge selection of teas and great snack items in the cafe as well. The place has a great feel to it, friendly staff, and free wifi. I'll definitely be back.

Great tea, great service, great space! We sat in the Tea Room and had a wonderfully snowy view of the town. Our well spoken and helpful server explained the different food options, the tea varieties, and the history of the building. We decided on the Christmas pot of tea as it was on special (dollar off), some savory scones, and some mushroom soup. If we had been more hungry we would have definitely ordered some of their amazing looking pastries/desserts. Another table came in after us and they really enjoyed their desserts. There is a store area between the Tea Room and Cafe, including a Wall of Smells or something like that. They sell probably close to 100 varieties of tea, tea kettles, and tea accessories. The menu at the cafe includes more lunch variety options -- sandwiches, quiche, and soups. Take your mom or grandmother here. They'll really enjoy it!

Went here to try the matcha - which was more bland than I expected, and served in a styrofoam cup (like you get from speedway for 99 cents) and we were sitting in- not taking it to go, so I was disappointed by presentation and price! We asked for water also, but did not receive it. We went to pay and I noticed they had Bubble Tea, ordered that, and the "bubbles" we hard in the middle, not chewy like they are supposed to be. The man that made our drinks showed very little enthusiasm/confidence in helping us. I don't know that I will be going here again.

I adore this charming cafe. It has a delightful atmosphere and delicious, wholesome food. The tea is fabulous. I'm not a huge tea person but this shop made me one. The tea is rich and flavorful. The tea service luncheon is an awesome experience. Please do yourself a favor and enjoy this quaint cafe.

I was prepared to fall in love with this place but my visit ended up being a total misfire. I made a brunch reservation for my birthday but when my friend and I arrived, they were not offering the one thing on the Season of Love menu that we both wanted (chocolate waffles with Earl Grey syrup). Our server spoke to the chef and returned to say they were willing to make the chocolate waffles for us but that it is chef's choice and I should have let them know what we wanted when I made my reservation. Or I should have called ahead to see if they were being offered. While I appreciated their willingness to accommodate us, I did not enjoy being scolded for not knowing these things. I had checked the brunch page on their website and there is no mention of those specific menu items being chef's choice. We weren't asked which of the "lovely" tea offerings we wanted to start with and ended up with one (Berry-Berry) neither my friend nor I found appealing. During our wait to be seated we were able to smell the available teas. Given the chance, I would have chosen the Cherry Rose Festival. My friend and I briefly considered ordering a pot of Lapsang Souchong to try but at that point, things felt forced and awkward so we left. I'm not sure I'll go to the trouble of visiting again but perhaps the staff could update their website and provide first-timers more detailed information so they don't have the same disappointing experience I did.

This place is perfect! I was slightly confused when I arrived to meet a friend, because there were three different entrances. After circling around their adorably decorated patio area (Where you can sit and be served at, I later learned!) for a good while I decided on the "Tea Room" entrance rather then the "Cafe" or "Gift Shop" entrances. The tea room is a mixture of quaint and elegant. They offer a four-course meal including soup and salad, scones, sandwiches and dessert all including tea. It sat around $20 per person. Being broke college students, my friend and I opted for just a salad and tea each. I just ordered a small garden salad served with raspberry vinaigrette and a bubble tea. Both were delicious and served on/in glass china. I felt very fancy. After finishing most of our meal our waitress gave us a taste-test of an Iced Shaken Chai Matcha Late (I believe that was the name). And let me tell you- it was one of the most delicious beverages I had ever tasted- much better than any watery blend I've received from my local Starbucks! My friend and I agreed we must have this drink with a dessert of sorts! So our lovely and polite waitress pointed us in the direction of the Cafe! Yesterday's cafe felt much more laid back than the tea room (Which I prefer. As nice as the tea room was, it made me a little nervous. Mainly because I'm naturally clumsy and my favorite meals are things I can eat with my fingers while sitting on the couch.) It had rustic brick walls and every table had a teapot up cycled into a flowerpot! Precious! While we enjoyed our fantastic Chai-matcha concoctions we shared a slice of a Green-Tea-Matcha tiramisu cake. Not only did I feel the gratification of eating a dessert that is slightly good for me (It has antioxidants, ok? Let me justify this indulgence!), it was, like everything else- DELICIOUS! I also want to add this tidbit: This place is VERY vegan/vegetarian friendly. I ordered both of my drinks with Soy milk rather than diary. And there were several meal and dessert options labeled "Vegan". Although I don't identify with being Vegan/Vegetarian, I ALWAYS appreciate those accommodations. Each of our bills ended up being around $15, which is not bad at all! I completely recommend Yesterday's tea room for a day out with the ladies in your life, but the cafe is totally appropriate for a casual date! I cannot say enough good things about this place. I will be back!

Yesterdays is by far the best place in Greater Cincinnati for the tea experience. There are dozens of high quality teas which you can enjoy at the tasting counter, during an Afternoon tea service in the Tearoom, or even to go along with a delicious pastry in the cafe. The place is small and cozy, and it's pretty remarkable that they bake and prepare all the food in house daily. There's always warm bread pudding, and an assortment of yummy muffins, cookies, scones and other desserts to choose from. You can tell that everything is made from scratch. Make sure you ask about Matcha while you are there- the staff is very knowledgeable, and can inform you on the health benefits. I've been a long time customer, and the staff is always cheerful and offers top notch service, truly above par. They even offer many gluten free and vegan choices. I love bringing my vegan and gluten free friends, as they are so willing to accommodate. Where else can you get a gluten free or vegetarian Afternoon Tea? Whenever I have friends in from out of town, Yesterdays is the first place I take them. It truly is a one of a kind gem in NKY.

I love this place! You have to bear with me a little, unfortunately I can't remember the exact names of the items I got and they don't seem to be listed on their website. Yes, I always cheat and look on the website for exact names. I had a matcha blended ice/frap thing which was soooo good. It was creamy and didn't taste much like green tea at all. I'm excited to find such great alternative for coffee! In case you don't know, matcha is a fine green tea powder. They also have a matcha tiramisu that I really want to try now. I ate the sandwich trio sampler which came with this lavender slaw that was delicious. The service is really great too, the girls that work there are super friendly. My only experience has been in the cafe, which is in the back of the building, but they also have a gift shop and a tea room I'd love to go to next time. They have odd hours so you should make sure to check them before going. I've been burned a couple times.

What a wonderful experience! I almost feel ashamed to admit that this business has been plugging away, doing wonderful things approx. a mile from house since 2000 and I have yet to give them my business. Images of little old ladies, little girls too precocious for their own good and too much floral and chintz made me stay well away. All of the above are just NOT up my alley. Imagine my surprise that, for my birthday, my mother made reservations for one of Yesterday's Girls Night Out evenings, a different themed night, which they hold once a month. Last night's evening was centered around Chai teas, both from India and America. We were seated in the cafe area first, for our first tasting. I love that they've kept the old brick interior in tact, exposed warm red brick with comfy seating and "conversation" areas, and a few tables and chairs. The cafe menu looks appetizing and I am trying to figure out a way to get there for lunch, even though I work in Covington!!! Our server, who admitted that she came to work there are being a customer (so that says, "love" and pride in her work) was wonderful--very knowledgeable about the teas, spices and flavors we would be experiencing, and introduced each one eloquently without making us feel inferior. We tried 4-5 if I recall, and during intervals, were were offered a choice of two soups ( I chose the African Sweet Potato with peanut and my mom chose the black bean), which was a nice surprise. And, at other intervals, we were given finger sandwiches and a buttery oatmeal date square as a palate cleanser, before opting to go into the tea room for a wine tasting and then the American Chai selection. The same wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly service was continued on this side of the business, even an umbrella'd escort between the two entries by a staff member because of the deluge. Along with our wine tasting, we were given housemade chai spiced cookies (of which I could have easily eaten a dozen) . After some wine, we shopped in the lovely gift selections, very well appointed items for babies, for children, for dear friends, unique jewelry items, things for gardeners and of course, tea drinkers in your life. After trying a few more chai samples, my mother and I really found a new friend in the Matcha Chai, a green tea based chai, that is actually ground from the tea leaves so it is a more pure, more substantial drink. And wonderful. The owner, passing by, asked us what our favorite selection of the evening was, and hands down we said, "the Matcha". She told us then about a class being given on Saturday about Matcha tea and how to cook with it, as well as make it in your home, and gave us a $5.00 off coupon to attend. I'm going to! Throughout the week, they offer many other classes, as well, which lean towards the holistic end of the spectrum, which I really appreciate. This IS a tea parlor, no doubt about it, but there is a wonderful emphasis on the health and healing aspects of teas, which is something not all of us know about. I am very anxious to give their regular business hours a go and would happily recommend their Girl's Night Out to anyone, anytime.

I can't believe I just found out about this wonderful gem! I googled 'tea', looking for something up in Covington, but Yesterday's Cafe and Tea Room is worth the drive. You MUST find your way here for a blissful, relaxing and delicious visit. I made reservations at 1pm on a Saturday for 3pm. I was asked a few questions about dietary restrictions and given a brief description of some of the treats waiting. I was a bit surprised at the questions, and I am not sure what they were for BUT I know I started getting excited about the tea. There were 2 of us and your first choice is whether to have 3 hot teas, or a cold drink and 2 teas. One of the cold drinks, Lavender Lemonade, is a must have! If for no other reason, you must go and try this drink. It isn't too sweet nor is it sour. Perfection! We started with a maple walnut scone and porcini soup. I have never had soup like this. There were more mushrooms in my cup of soup than my mom would have used for soup for 10! Our tea came with egg salad, cheese and crackers, fruit and pumpkin cranberry bread. We ended with different desserts. The Nutcracker tea was recommended to us and it was delicious! I had to try the Earl Grey Creme and was thrilled with it. Why I give this 5 stars: 1. We didn't finish our meal until 4:20 and the place closes at 4pm. We had no idea we were keeping them late! 2. The Lavender Lemonade 3. The scone, pumpkin/cranberry bread, soup and bread pudding 4. The service (which is professional and outstanding) 5. The ambience I can't wait to go back! Note: 1. The serving sizes were perfect for me. It might be a bit much for someone small and not enough for a guy - but I was thrilled. 2. There is a wall for you to smell the tea before selecting it AND you can purchase all of the teas in loose-leaf form 3. There is a wonderful tea/wine gift shop.

Best Feature: Adorable cafe, yummy muffins! Worst Feature: Pricier, hated my latte I love coffee. I love cafes. I also love adorable local places to get a bit of grub and a delicious beverage, so when I saw this place while stopping by the local USPS, I knew I had to come back and give it a shot. It was overcast and rainy when I traveled down the side street that led to Yesterday's private parking lot, but all that disappeared when I finally walked inside this little cafe. It's a bit interesting to get to, as the back lot has carryout parking as well as unpaved gravel. I walked in the side path and followed the big, easy signs to the cafe. You could already tell it had an older adorable charm, and walking in proved that point. They have (limited) seating indoors and have all kinds of knick-knacks and coffee/tea around the store to purchase. I walked up to the counter and saw the big menu behind the barista. Coffee / beverages prices are somewhat decently priced; I was surprised that tea for one, however, is a little over $4. Don't know why, but I was taken aback by that price and immediately crossed that off my list. I went for the mocha latte and ordered a muffin. There weren't many baked goods in the front display, but upon my inquiry the barista was more than happy to hop in the back and see what they had. I received a warm carrot cake muffin - decent size and only a couple bucks (if not less). I happily waited and chatted with the barista until she made my latte and I left, having paid a total of just over $7 for my drink + muffin. I would say the one big disappoint for me was the part I was looking forward to the most - the drink itself. The latte was absolutely lacking in any kind of flavor; it almost tasted watered down, very weak. I was so unimpressed that I actually ended up not finishing it and tossing it, which I hate doing since I paid for it. But it was just not yummy at all. I have to admit, I am biased since I'd already enjoyed a local coffee shop a few streets away. Windmill Coffee isn't far from Yesterday's Cafe, and frankly as soon as I tried to get through the latte I instantly regretted not going to Windmill instead. The muffin was good + hearty, but the drinks were more expensive and totally did not impress me. I'd even rather hit up a Starbucks than order the latte I had there, so I'm not sure if it was a bad day or what. I'd pick Windmill Coffee over this one every time, but it's worth a stop in to check out the ambience and grab a muffin. The muffin was worth the money and tasted great, so if I return it will be for that. Can't say I'll return anytime soon, but maybe I'll give it another chance in the future and test if it was just an off day or what.

My Daughter and I started going here when they first opened. They have changed for the best with the larger Tea Room area. The food is great and the Susan and the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful with choosing teas. The Panini we ate today were very delicious and the atmosphere is great too. Very nice place to sit down and relax for a great cup of coffee, tea, or eat lunch. Alot of people dont realize they have a coffee bar too, so all you White Chocolate Mocha fans can please your pallet here as well.

They have so many teas to choose from and buy and their food is simply delicious. I did not leave disappointed in any way. I will definitely go back to try some more teas and to eat with girlfriends. Perks include you can buy the teas too and they give samples of their different beverages, hot and iced teas, lemonades, etc.

Aww these ladies were the sweetest ladies ever. They reminded me of my aunts, so welcoming and helpful and willing to take you on the grant tour. I don't stop by Florence regularly, but I would definitely swing by here for a coffee and a chat if I did! There are only a handful of couches in the café, but it was by no means crowded. The soup was brought out in what I can only describe as my grandmother's bowls. The dessert looked divine! As you could probably guess, they specialize in tea, but also have an espresso machine and a blend on hand if that is your thing. Plus free wifi and immaculate restrooms. The main dining room would be perfect for a Sunday brunch with your favorite ladies in your life (and gentlemen too!), but would be especially wonderful for a bridal shower or baby shower. Plus all the teas you could ever imagine and about 100 more that you couldn't even imagine!

I found Yesterday's when looking for a healthy place to eat when I was on a hardcore diet. Although I was on a diet I still had desserts from time to time. I also like to do gluten free or diary free items sometimes. Yesterday's desserts are good, especially the Macha Muffins. My fiancé liked the cookies and brownies. We also tried the Macha Tea. It's suppose to give you more energy and have many health benefits. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The ambiance is nice for a lunch date or a small girls lunch group (like 3). I have not tried there coffees (bc I don't like coffee), tea, or food. I mainly go for the desserts. I'm rating this a 3 bc I haven't tried anything but the desserts. I don't want to mislead anyone reading this post with rating it 4/5 stars if the other items aren't any good bc all I know is the desserts.
