We LOVE Fuji Steakhouse. It is one of our favorite places to go. We save it for special occasions since it is more expensive. Watch for coupons in the mail mailers. We always sit on the hibachi side. Mention when it is your birthday and they will bring you fried ice cream and sing you a song banging on a loud drum. I highly recommend you make reservations if you go on a weekend night.

Sushi Only It's a typical Asian food restaurant with average sushi quality. What I call it (Americanized). A friend of mine wanted to meet there since they have half price sushi. All I can say is that there is a good reason why they are half-priced. Final thoughts: Sushi was typical. Service was slow.

My friends think I'm crazy... but I didn't really like this place, nor did my husband. Everyone else I know that has been here though loves it so maybe I am crazy? Or maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? I admit that it was pretty neat seeing them cook in front of us & doing tricks & such... but I don't think it was worth the price of the food. I personally have had just as good of food from many other Chinese/Asian restaurants for way less. I'd be willing to give them a second chance though. Maybe if I tried something else my opinion would change? Who knows? As of right now though I'm in no rush to return.

Best dumpling soup for $4.00, you can't beat the price for fresh made soup. I took my co-worker Charles Q. For losing a bet on the Superbowl Giants vs. New England and they lost. So I wanted to have Charles try some diversity. He has never ate Japanese food. So we had the Hibachi grill. They cook in front of us. The chef did all sorts of tricks. Onto the meal. I first ordered the Shapiro beer, which was not to bad. Then of course I ordered my favorite soup there dumpling soup, wow the broth is sensational and piping hot, as heat hot. Then I ordered the steak, chicken and shrimp combo. There Japanese rice is really good. Love there dipping sauce. Especially the cream orange color...yummy Our waiter Cayden did a super sensational service. He made sure we had plenty of water and drinks. High kudos to him. He even ask us if we wanted desert, but I was to stuffed from main dinner..

We had dinner at this restaurant last night and it was AWFUL! Stay away from this place if you want to save your money, your time and your stomach. We went to dinner with a party of 5 and sat in front of the grill for the experience. The cook was ok although not as entertaining as he may of thought he was. The food was terrible. I ordered the General Tso Chicken and couldn't eat the chicken bc it was chewy (and I wasn't sure if it were actually chicken). The first bit made me lose my appetite. Everything on the plate was left untouched. The soup they give you to start your meal is more or less dirty water heated up like hot tea with a mushroom and a noodle in it. That was also left untouched. I asked the waitress for a specific appetizer to have with my meal and her response was, "The chef will choose for you". There are 20 appetizers on the menu!!!! I don't want the chef to choose for me! I want to choose what I WANT to eat if I'm paying the bill. The waitress asked if I wanted my food boxed up once she saw my plate was still FULL of food. I replied NO thank you. She didn't offer to rectify the situation. She didn't ask if I wanted something else. What she DID ask for was MORE of a TIP (b/c she said she had to split the tip with the cook). In a party of 5 the gratuity is automatically added to your bill. I wasn't giving her a penny more for the poor service we had received throughout the entire dinner, her attitude or the nasty food. Our bill was $150 for 5 people. If I'm going to spend $150 on a dinner then I want it to be at a quality restaurant and this place is FAR FROM. Advice: Don't believe the hype. It's not worth your time, your money or your tastebuds.

Fair, nothing outstanding, service was uneven - salad and soup brought out at same time. Regardless of how you wanted your steak, you were getting how the chef wanted it.

Just reopened on Houston Rd in Florence after closing for a couple months to relocate. We went in for my son's birthday because the old location was his favorite place to eat. Staff was completely disorganized and overwhelmed. We were first told it would be an hour plus wait for our party of five, then changed it to half an hour when we said thanks but we'd go somewhere else and try again another day. While waiting to be seated we stood in line to order drinks from the surly bartender while the "Manager" walked behind the bar, counted cash from the drawer, and walked off without making any effort to address customers who were asking for his help. We were seated after 45 minutes with several other parties in a back hibachi room. The room was set up with two grills in a U shape designed for chef and servers to wait on the two sides separately from the center. After 10 minutes a server came in and took drink orders from the opposite side of the room, and came back 15 minutes later for their meal orders. She kept her back turned to us and carefully made sure not to make eye contact or address our half of the table. A lady came and took drink orders from our half of the table after we'd been seated for about half an hour. Our drinks came a few minutes later then no contact for another 15 minutes. While we waited for our server to reappear the other half of our "table" ordered their meals and had a chef come and prepare them, also carefully ignoring our half of the room. As they were eating our server again showed up and hurriedly took meal orders, then returned with soup and salad. We waited for our chef while the other half of our room paid their bills, and received passive apologies for their slow service. After about 20 more minutes a lady, apparently one of the "Managers" judging by her dress, walked in our room, spoke to the other half's server, ignoring our presence altogether. At this point we'd had enough, gave up and left. We wasted over two hours in the restaurant without ever having our meal. As we left the same cash counting manager from the bar was milling around the front area with several staff members. I can't quite express what a disappointing restaurant experience this was. The staff was totally overwhelmed, the apparent Managers were absolutely clueless, and the bartender was dismissive and rude. Positives? The new decor was nice, and the hibachi chef who we got the privilege of watching prepare meals for the other half of the room was entertaining and engaging to those of us who weren't invisible. We used to love the old location, and looked forward to this one opening. I could be understanding of the challenges of reopening as an essentially new restaurant if not for the totally unacceptable excuse for service provided by the staff and management. There are other hibachi restaurants in the area, and we'll be trying them rather than giving Fuji any more of our business.

My family and I generally enjoy Fuji Steakhouse, however we went on a Sunday evening and sat at a hibachi grill. We LOVE to watch the show that the chef puts on. This time, as we sat watching the chef perform his tricks, he slapped the spatchula on the grill, which splattered HOT grease on my face, neck, and arm and new shirt. As I let out a scream, the chef looks at me and says, "Oh, I'm sorry." That's all....nothing more, no let me take your meal off the bill, let me get you a cold rag, NOTHING! To top that off, the waitress who NEVER refilled our drinks, says to us that the chef wanted her to remind us that he get's part of her tips. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! How UNAPPROPRIATE!

1 star because the food was good. I have been here twice; the first time it was with 3 adults and a child. The second time it was with 5 adults and 2 children. Now I don't know if it's because we had a "big" group but it took more than 20 minutes to be seated at the sushi section. We could easily see 2 tables that could easily be pushed together to seat our group and/or one open booth that could seat our group. We also noticed customers coming back and forth from the hibachi section to the sushi section. Very unorganized. While waiting to be seated on both of my visits I noticed none of the servers smiled while walking around, the servers were quick to leave the table (so quick they didn't take 2 of my friends drinks), also when there is an issue with a table they seem to ignore the table (1st visit they forgot my husband's and child's order. That visit we waited for maybe 20mins for their food to come out and not once in that 20 mins did our server tell us our status. He literally stayed away from our table until their food came out. We had to walk up to the sushi bar to get the eta on their meal. 2nd time my father in law was at the bar when a server looked right at him and the server took a drink and completely ignored my father in law. The server could have easily told him that someone will be right with him.). After 2 visits and both with poor service I feel as if I'll find a new sushi spot. I know there are a few in the area and although theirs will cost a bit more, I know the service will be better.

This place is a one-and-done stop. The food is mediocre & the service far from acceptable. My experience started with some paper in my soup...really. When I pointed it out, the response was not "I'm sorry.", but rather to put another bowl in front of me without the least bit of acknowledgement of the error. Next, after the chef served the steak & seafood, I asked for the sauces that traditionally accompany these meals. He immediately stopped his "show", but was obviously uncomfortable with me for pointing-out his ineptitude. When I pointed this out to the management, they simply furnished me my bill. Poor form indeed.

We have tried the new location on Houston Road two times and have been disappointed on each visit. First visit we sat at a traditional table and this weekend at a hibachi table. The only good part is that the new location is far superior for seating, but the lack of good service and the disappointing hibachi presentation on a Saturday night is enough for us to say no more. The food quality on both visits was mediocre. In addition the portions are small compared to other hibachi grills we have experienced. Everyone in our group agreed that the hibachi chef's were rushed and lacking in entertainment skills. We estimated that they were at the grills for less than 10 minutes and were off to another table. One last note, if you are the type who like to enjoy a stop at the bar before being seated you will be let down. A small bar that is located in the lobby waiting area was staffed on both visits by a less than cheerful bartender. We wish we could say something more positive because we were hoping to come back for a visit to the Sushi bar, but that is not going to happen after this weekend's experience.

Wish I could give no stars. Loved this place for sake and clear soup, so comforting especially in the winter months. After tonight's atrocious debacle I can only say the sake did nothing to lighten my mood. Got there at 7:40 where we were promptly seated at a table. Waited for 10 minutes without being greeted by the server when another couple were seated next to us. 8 minutes go by with still no server to greet either one of us. Had a conversation with them that we were seated 10 minutes before them and still nothing. Made an inquiry to the hostess who was horrified we had not been not so much as acknowledged and offered to get the server who was busy with his seemingly one table. After 20 minutes (not even embellishing here) the table next to us decided to try out a new German restaurant not far from there. A minute later the server appears. We order drinks ( hot sake included) and our meals, fearing never to have him return. Then we wait yet another 20 minutes wondering where my sake was and stressing as to whether I will actually have to pay full price for our ridiculously expensive meals 25+ a pop. While waiting for the entrees, my husband and I witness not one but two tables leave from not being greeted and one other couple seated for 12 minutes walk up and ask the hostess if they also, in fact had a server in that section. Granted, this was a busy Saturday night so when I flagged down the manager I was understanding, being over staffed and all, but the fact that nothing was comped from our bill, I wish I had followed the couple next to us out and saved our money! I drag my husband to that place almost every weekend, even before it moved to Houston road. It's gorgeously decorated and I wish the staff reflected that! I've been a server for 10 years now and I am extremely forgiving when it comes to service but this was so blatantly ridiculous I just had to post! I might go back maybe during the week but really hope they take tonight as a wake up call!

Personally I think they have some of the best sushi in the tri-state.... you always hear how good Teak's sushi is and I think Fuji's beats it hands down.

Awful experience. Our table and the windowsill were covered with ants. The staff was unapologetic and wouldn't allow us to switch tables. Order took about 45 mins. Very little food, but a whole lot of money. Won't make that mistake again.

I've been here 4 times since moving here 2 years ago - twice for the hibachi and twice for half off sushi/app Tuesdays. I've had a great experience every time. Ample parking, great food, and free hard candy at the front :) Plus (again) HALF OFF SUSHI AND APPETIZERS ON TUESDAYS! A great way to be adventurous without breaking the bank, and the appetizers include gyoza, edamame, and lots of other yums. So good!

Where do I start! My husband and I went with my 9 month old. We decided to get sushi as a little one might not sit through a hibachi presentation. Our hostess told us they didn't have high chairs? We are pretty easy going so decided we could manage without. Our waitress took 10 minutes to get our drinks and when she did they where the wrong ones. That took another 10 min to correct. We ordered tempura veggies for an appetizer and it was delivered cold. We waited 45 min for our food that never came. We asked the waitress to box it up because it was taking so long. We ate our sushi at home and it was not worth the money or the wait. Horrible service, not equipped for families with young children, mediocre food and way too expensive. I recommend Spice in Hebron.

My wife and I sometimes visit Fuji on Tuesdays for half price sushi. We like to try different rolls and the rolls we have had so far have been very fresh and tasty. Our favorites are the spicy rolls. The salad they serve with your order is always nice and crisp with just the right amount of delicious dressing. The Miso soup is always tasty and hot and goes well with the salad. We have not tried the Hibachi side or anything other than the sushi and fried rice, but have been pleased with everything we have tried. Even on a busy night like half price sushi night we have rarely waited more than 10 minutes to be seated and the wait staff have always been very nice and attentive. Do be aware that on half price sushi night they automatically add an 18% gratuity. This really sells the wait staff short as I would normally tip more than that but since they have decided my tip for me I never add more. They also could really fix some of the holes and degraded structure on the walls inside, it does not give you a warm fuzzy feeling when you look up and see a hole above you where any number of nasty things could fall directly on your table. If the inside was better kept I would be inclined to give a 4-star rating but can only give 3 as a result.

I wish I could rate the place on the food because it is usually awesome. However, depending on what chef you get, it's sometimes better than others. I prefer to go for dinner but usually end up going for lunch because the price. It is one of my family's absolute favorite places to go and, because of the prices, we don't go too often so it remains a special treat. Because it's a special treat, I bite my tongue at the prices, which, some of their charges are RIDICULOUS! I don't think a soft drink is worth 2.99 anywhere anytime! I also don't think there should be such an extra charge for fried rice vs steamed rice, and if there is, it should be minimal. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ginger dressing. I wish I could take my boys there for every special occasion but unless I win the lottery that won't be happening anytime soon. Food is awesome, service is good, prices are too high and not competitive for what you get. They should have lunch prices on weekends, Myoki on Buttermilk does!

OMG It was horrible; I left before ordering! Took forever to get seated although they weren't that busy (no hostess for 5 minutes. After about 4 minutes, the sushi san waived me into the bar, although I told him I didn't want to eat in the bar). I got some tea and I became invisible again. But hey, I understand. When you're in the middle of a shouting match with (another) dissatisfied customer (who was telling them to "make it right" and he'd pay & leave) and threatening to call the police, it's hard to give good service, right? The menu is loaded with typos; not cute little errors...more a sign of carelessness. I fear the carelessness in spelling and service may extend to the food. Call Restaurant Impossible - these folks need help. I bolted, never to return!

Steak sounds good, doesn't it. Well it was. This was our first visit here. It came recommended by my boss. We chose the dining side instead of Hibachi since I was on a short lunch break. But we will go back when we have time to have them flip food into our mouths. That is a date night for sure. I ordered the steak & fried rice. You get soup with it. The soup was very plain, but warm which was nice on this cold day. They brought out yum yum sauce and another one (?) to do our dipping. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite!! I even liked the dishes they served our lunch on. The server did a great job. The room was nice and cozy with curtains shut to make for a warmer feel. We really enjoyed it and look forward to another visit.
