Very delicious thin crust pizza. Visited on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Had a delicious meaty pizza and side salads. The salads were good but just good and nothing amazing. The restaurant is clean and nice. The staff is very friendly. I recommend it.

We've eaten here many times since we've lived close by, and the food has always been delicious, but since moving to the new location the food quality has dropped & the service has much to be desired. Everytime we have went to the new location, we've had a server who is just plain weird and odd. Some times we've had excellent pizza other times we've had pizza that tasted like they ran up to Krogers and bought a frozen one and popped it in the oven. I don't understand why moving from one location to another has caused such a drop in quality of food and strange service.

Great local pizza place. There are better pizzas out there, sure, but not in this area. We actually ordered delivery to a local tavern on a busy Saturday evening. They quoted me 30-40 minutes (faster than expected) and they were close enough to 40 to pass for delivery time. Pizza itself definitely isn't what I expected (although, truth be told, I had no expectations - I ordered on a recommendation from the bouncer). Crust was thin, but not crispy. I was quite glad the pizza was cut into small pieces, because otherwise it would have fallen apart in my hand. Topping dispersion was even and consistent... Our meat lover's was absolutely covered. I really appreciated seeing the unevenly sliced chunks of ham... Lets you know that a real person cut it. I would say the pizza is a little sauce heavy, but honestly, their marinara is delicious... Thick, rich, and well seasoned. Can't say I'll be out this way anytime soon, but I would definitely prefer this the lowly Little Caesar's.

Very nice Pizza Place! The staff are friendly and helpful. We had a Pepperoni Pizza and 2 hoagies. The Steak Hoagie with Pizza Sauce was generous and cooked just right! The Steak Hoagie with Mushroom Sauce was Great! Lots of Melted Cheese and the sandwiches were cooked to perfection with Garlic Butter on the bun. The pizza was great too! We got the Traditional Crust with Pepperoni and cheese. The pizza was cooked just right! On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings they have a buffet with many kinds of pizza, spaghetti, salad, breadsticks and Desert Pizza. Very good! For $21.99 you can get a Large Pizza and 2 large hoagies. This is our favorite Pizza Place. They also have a nice bar area with many TVs around the restaurant. If you love pizza this is the place for you!

I'll be in a lot of pizza this was just average. I had a jalapeno and cheese pizza and a regular salad nothing to write home about just average. My boy had a meat pizza and he said it was just average too. Will not come back. To average

Best pizza place in Florence, couldn't have asked for better service. Food was great! I was never at old location, but this is really nice. Lots of room between tables instead of being crammed in.

Flavor of pizza good. Somewhat light on qty of toppings. Toppings did not quite cover crust. Crust ordered was not thick crust ordered. Waitress was new and note very knowledgable. A little slow. Better than Pizza Hut.

First off, I feel I need to own up to the fact that I've driven by their old, much smaller location for many, many years on Dixie highway without having ever tried their stuff. Ummm, shame on me. The new place is way cool. We had a great time in our group of 8. Server Pat was a trip, and obviously has a great time in this job. Pies were all phenomenal. Buffalo dip was, too. Even the water tastes great! Yes, people actually notice these things! Having been in the much smaller location for such a long time, there has got to be a huge following of locals. The new place is going to bring a lot of new faces. The only thing that I would suggest, especially since they don't yet have a full liquor license, would be to add a decent wine selection. We would love it if they could bring in some of our favorites to enjoy with our newly discovered favorite local pizza!

Ok this is a review of the new restaurant. There are issues but I believe they are very fixable. First there is a lack of leadership in the dining room and a lack of training for the staff. Ownership cannot sit at the bar when tables are not being acknowledged by waitstaff for over 15 minutes. The dining room has to be covered at the door and seating areas for the entire dinner service. Secondly, the staff has to go all the way back to kitchen to get supplies, like napkins or plates or hot peppers. Third, the bar looks nice but the bartenders appear to be amateurs or unsophisticated on how to be effective servers or sellers. Bartenders cannot wait on tables during dinner service. The runner idea could be effective but creates lazy servers. Finally put a door on the kitchen because nobody wants to see or hear what's going on in there. The one redeeming factor is the good pizza ! The nice new clean surroundings are great now, but the challenge to keep it up lies ahead and the previous location failed in that important area of cleanliness. Finally there was no apparent takeout method if you were a walk-in other than by going to the bar. I wish Salvadore's well and hope they fix these issues quickly.

I try a different pizzeria out here once a month hoping to find something that resembles good pizza. I ordered a large pizza extra cheese for delivery. This has to be the greasiest pizza I have had in a long time. It is dripping off the pizza and the whole box is nasty wet. Just heated up 3 slices and I have a puddle on my plate of grease. The cheese is so cheap. The crust however was good. Nice and thin. I do not get why places use crappy quality ingredients and expect a good product. I will end up throwing out half of this pizza cause I already have heartburn from all the grease. Btw, I never get heartburn. The search continues for viable pizza in No KY.

Went with my fiance for our random pizza joint night and was not extremely impressed with the pizza or the cheese breadsticks. The dough was delicious, sauce was bland, toppings were good and plentiful, the cheese breadsticks however, earned a 2 out of 10 for sure. They give one tiny cup of the tomatoey pizza sauce and melted provolone arcoss the top of them making them difficult to pull apart. And the overall taste of them was just ok. The staff on the other hand was very friendly and very attentive. And the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was very good.

We have lived in the area for quite a while and had always joked about trying this, and finally decided to tonight. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The dough was chewy, the cheese on the cheese pizza looked like something from my high school days, and the toppings were enough to give me indigestion upon first bite. The boneless wings were mediocre, the pizza not so much. It's a shame we won't be supporting this local business.

Salvadore's -- or as my family still remembers it, Pasquale's -- is my childhood. We have been going to Salvadore's for as long as I can remember, and who knows how long my parents have been going there. Centuries maybe. (Just kidding, Mom and Dad.) When I lived out of town and came home to visit, I would ask to go to there each time. And I always order a lunch meat hoagie. There's just something about the mix of meat and sauce and cheese on the almost too buttery hoagie bun that I have not been able to find elsewhere. I think Salvadore's has had the same plastic tablecloths -- with images of old newspaper ads on them -- for forever. And except for when they reconfigured the front entrance, it's always been the same -- and I really wouldn't like it any other way. And their service has always been friendly. I remember when my family and I went there to get a meal either right before or right after my brother, a Marine, was sent to Afghanistan. The owner gave Dustin his meal for free and even came over to shake his hand. Yes, sometimes the restaurant can be a little dirty. It's not the most high-end of places. But it's memories and family and home and some of the best hoagies and pizza. I'll be a fan forever.

first let me start with a few positives. one the space is super nice and they have plenty of tvs. this would be a great place to watch a game at. the waitress and staff was very nice and friendly. the beer was very cold and good. now to the food which is the reason for this three star review. first we started with the chef's special small as our appertizer. the cheese and toppings was on point and fresh but the sauce was one of the worst sauces I have ever had on the pizza. it was sweet and tasted like ragu out of the can. I hope the owner reads this review and changes the sauce cause everything was good other than sauce. my wife got the French onion soup which was the worst French onion soups I have ever seen. not only was a very small portion of soup but it lacked any flavor. whoever made it just barely put any soup in the bowl with two pieces of toast and cheese. I will be adding a pic of this soup. now on to the steak hoagie which was my entrée. I was hoping for better sauce. I got a side of bbq sauce to go with the chips. the bbq sauce was horrid. tasted like the open pit bbq sauce. the pizza sauce on the hoagie was very bad as well. the steak was good as was the topping and the bun. we might try it again soon in hopes they make the changes or I may try another item that doesn't require sauce. I think they may be working on the problems going from a very small place to a very large location. they took the soup off the bill although we didn't complain to do so which go to shows they do care. I did notice they had really outstanding prices on the pizza bar Monday thru Friday. please please please change your sauce and you will be good to go.

New location is nice, clean and up to date. Service staff still needs some training, our server didn't know when happy hour was or what specials were being offered the evening we were there. They have some growing and training to do in their new spot, but we ARE rooting for their success. Food and drinks were great as always.

Please go back to your old location, good food and good service! Service was terrible, food was cold and waiter was far from personable.

I got a large pepperoni and boneless wings. They charged extra for delivery yet the cheese on the pizza was slid to one side. The boneless wings were nothing special. I was not impressed with the pizza either. The dough was mushy and the sauce was really sweet, tasted like they just opened up a jar of ragu and poured it on. Not my favorite and will not be ordering from them again.

Blah! Not much better than a $5 frozen pizza with a 45 min wait. But they deliver and got us fed after arriving at the hotel at 10pm. Just wish the crust wasn't so soft.

Lunch review only - they have a pizza buffet! It's reasonable at $5.99, and they do a pretty good job of keeping hot pizzas on the buffet table. The pizza is tasty, and they don't skimp on the ingredients, though there's rarely more than one item on each pizza. My only issue is the lack of non-meat toppings. This is not a good buffet for vegetarians, unless they just want salad and dessert pizza. Which brings up this point - they do have salad and pasta on the buffet as well, just very basic iceberg and uncooked pizza toppings - olives, onion, green pepper. And egg, which thankfully isn't a pizza topping but is cool to have on the salads bar. AND ++++++ for finally going all non-smoking!

I absolutely love their breadsticks with cheese, they are the perfect combination of garlic goodness and cheese!!! I don't eat their pizza only because I like their hoagies and spaghetti better. Their meatball hoagie is very good the bun has garlic butter spread on top which is amazing! I eat their kids spaghetti which comes with two breadsticks and a drink and its enough to fill me up. It's close to my house and my husband would eat here everyday if I allowed it lol

A locals only spot type joint. Salad bar was basic-lacking choices. The pizza was ok, the sitting room dark and dungie. But for the price its passable.

We've been ordering from Salvadore's since it was Pasquales. Living in Elsmere, you're kind of in this 'no delivery zone" from Florence and Erlanger pizzas and I detest Papa Johns and Snappy Tomato which do deliver to our home. I also like to support local business, so Salvadore's gets our money--being local isn't the only reason: I like the vibe--even though I'm not into sports, most people are, and this seems to be a place that folks go to watch games, get pitchers of beer, little league sports teams, softball teams, and just regular folks on a Tuesday night. It's even busy on Tuesday night! The staff is always friendly and someone is always wiping down tables or working in the busy kitchen. You place your order at the front counter, they give you a number, you get your drinks and they bring to the food to your table. It's a no frills joint, folks, in that the pizza is on a cardboard disc, and the plates are styrofoam and the knives plastic (real spoons and forks, though) and everything you want (crushed red pepper, grated parmesan cheese, s & p, etc...) is near the drinks to serve yourself. I love the food and I love the price--it's crazy reasonable--a medium two topping pizza can be had for $7.99. The crust is a "medium" crust--hand tossed, a little thicker around the edge and has a nice texture--chewy, crunchy and the fact that they butter the crust a bit CAN'T hurt anything. The sauce is well seasoned, and ample enough on the crust. Not TOO much so that the cheese slides off and you're left with wet bread. The cheese is real mozzarella and I think a blend of another cheese--regardless, it doesn't make that congealed "shelf" of cheese that Larosa's or Tom's Papa Dino's provides, which I very much appreciate. I've also tried their spaghetti and meat sauce (or a meat ball) which is the same as when it was Pasquales--which means you get this lovely tin of spaghetting with a full flavored meat sauce, a packet of real grated parmesan, AND this little personal loaf of buttery, slightly salty, yummy garlicky garlic bread that makes the meal. Not one little piece, YOUR OWN PERSONAL LITTLE LOAF, so there is extra for cleaning up the yummy sauce :) Give this local business a shot--there's a reason it's been in the same spot since the early 80's or so.

Had a pizza and a couple hoagies delivered and it was delicious! Piping hot and delivered to my door 20 minutes after ordering it. The pizza was perfection! It looked like an artist carefully pieced it together one piece of cheese at a time. Okay, maybe I'm getting carried away, but it was 100% perfect. I can't say enough about the lunchmeat hoagy. I haven't dined in but I did notice on the sign that they are now "smoke free". I'm looking forward to taking the family and enjoying some smoke-free pizzeria dining.

I love their pizza it is just classic. 4 stars because the wings are sub par but overall great place to enjoy a beer and a slice.

This place is pretty good. I'm not really too picky about my pizza. Either it's pretty good, or delicious. I've never had a pizza that's been completely terrible. This place is just pretty good to me. One plus is that they have a lunch buffet which is really cheap. It has pizza, pasta, salad, & bread sticks. You don't have too much to choose from, but at that price you can't really complain. The only thing I really didn't like about this place the last time that I went, was that I found a piece of plastic in my pasta. Part of the serving spoon had chipped off into it. Other than that though I enjoyed myself, & it's not like that's something that happens everyday. I wouldn't mind going back in the near future.

My husband and I really like a nice take out pizza every once and a while as a little guilty splurge. I tend to enjoy the big chain pizza places (I KNOW, OKAY BUT I DO) and he leans more towards the locally owned and operated joints. With Salvadore's right up the street from us it's a place we were excited to try! I thought their pizza was just okay at best, and my husband agreed. We got a veggie pizza and while they did load it up with green peppers, red onions and other veggie goodness they cut them so thin that the edges burned pretty badly. Also, the crust was somewhere between thin and thick and just ended up kinda soggy and seemed not all the way cooked, which was strange since the veggies were burnt. We did get these amazing garlic butter knots, which were just bread-sticks balled up and smothered in buttery, garlicky deliciousness which were great buy very greasy. Overall we were a little underwhelmed and only order from them when we are too lazy to drive further down the road to the Papa John's.

I love pizza. It's possibly my favorite thing on earth. And if i had to choose only one place to order ONE pizza from, and only got to eat it once per year, I'd have to pick Salvadore's, (formerly Pasquale's in Elsmere, KY) Maybe it's because I've been eating it since I was a little kid. The sauce is delicious, the cheese is great, and if you order their breadsticks with cheese, you will be delighted. The not so-good: Having worked here many years ago, I know the philosophies of making it "good." Sometimes I order breadsticks and there's hardly any cheese at all, or they're overcooked and crispy. Back when we ran orders, we always ensured the dough was soft, golden, and cheesy! That's not been the case, many times.

My parents used to bring me here when I was small (when it was still Pasquales), and it's still a place I have to visit every time I'm in town. The amazing garlic bread is the biggest reason I'm there; it's a little loaf of buttery, garlic-y heaven. I always get the spaghetti, which is also yummy. Try dipping the garlic bread in the spaghetti sauce. The hoagies and the pizzas are also good. This isn't a classy Italian joint- more like a sports bar (minus the bar). For a satisfying meal in a low-key atmosphere, go here. You'll be glad. Parking isn't great, though, so don't be surprised if you need to park on a nearby street.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
