Colonial Cottage is one of a few places of it's kind in the area. A beloved, family-owned restaurant with good home cooked food. It's a refreshing change of pace from the brightly lit, sterile, corporate chain places. The average age for diners at Colonial Cottage is roughly 106 years-old. You know how to live to 106 years-old? By eating good food.

Been there several times for lunch meetings. The food is good with a down home feel and the service professional.

Three generations including a vegetarian and one eating paleo each found delights on their menu! The specials listed are simetimes likely to take you back to your childhood. Open faced roast beef sandwiches, salmon croquettes and let's not forget liver and onions! Yummy! No, really, I love them here!! I suggest saving room for pie!

Best breakfast place in NKY, hands down! I love me some Colonial Cottage. If you read my reviews, you know that I can get down with breakfast food and I love places that serve it 24/7. Colonial Cottage is just the best greasy spoon diner with a wider menu and less actual grease. :) They have a wide range of items to choose from, including lunch, dinner and dessert options, but I've got to say I usually stick to their breakfast! They have great hashbrowns and eggs anyway you like 'em! I particularly love their goetta--it comes cut in a thick rectangle and pan fried to the most perfect crispness. I seriously could eat plate after plate of it! This is a usual go to spot for my friends and I after a night of partying and we always leave full and feeling better! It's reasonably priced and the portions are generous. All of that along with great service makes this the prefect spot for breakfast or brunch. I would tend to avoid it on Sunday afternoons, otherwise you are waiting along with the after church crowds which tend to linger, but other than that they are fast to seat you and can accommodate groups. Everyone who works there is great and you are sure to run into someone you know! It's the essential small-town diner. So stop by for some great breakfast noms and enjoy!

Colonial Cottage is a Classic. This is a place to create memories with your family and friends with good food. I went to breakfast here every year for my birthday from grade school through high school. Of course, Goetta was always the part of the celebration! I have now started taking my own family here. Now everyone has their favorite classic: BLT, Mickey Mouse pancakes, Kentucky Hot Brown, Pie, and anything with Goetta on it. We love the quiet family atmosphere and the friendly staff. This place will never change, and that is the best thing about it.

I've been eating here off and on for the past 8 years - only once every month or two if that. I was VERY happy they went to no smoking (before the county did in fact) . Normally the food is pretty darn good - I'm sure much of it like the chicken breasts and other stuff are from a restaurant supply company, but thats okay because they did a great job cooking it. Here is my advice - NEVER GO ON TUESDAY. Tuesday is their all you can eat fried chicken..the place was PACKED. They apparently won a local award for their fried chicken too (hello - The Greyhound - go there!). We waited for 10 minutes to get a table - no big deal except there really isn't any place to wait. We got seated and waited for 10-15 minutes to get service...as in our water or even MENU's! I coudl tell other people around us were in the same boat, and I saw it happen repeatedly at tables around us. I ordered the chicken sandwhich for me, my father in law got the cat fish, and I ordered the nuggets and fries for the kids. I asked the waitress to please bring the kids food out as soon as possible because it was now almost 7pm and they normally eat around 6. We'd been there for almost 45 minutes already....and just now ordered. At 730pm, our food finally arrived..1.25 hours after our arrival. I never ever got a refill on my tea nor was I offered one. My kids were out of milk. We had to ask for our ticket. We rarely saw our waitress. The food was still excellent - fries were VERY VERY good, My chicken sandwhich was full of flavor (I added cheese and bacon - hey I skipped lunch, don't judge!) Such a disappointment. In the past it was great. Service has always been a tad on the slow side, but even after the remodel, I still think of this place as a slow southern diner style place. But tonight - not acceptable at all. If I do come back, it will NOT be on a tuesday. Northern Kentucky apparently likes fried chicken too much. I will rate it again next time (?) I go. Really like their bugers with the egg on it.

After going to the Taste of NKY the other day and tasting some amazingly fabulous chicken, my husband and I decided to participate in Colonial Cottage's once every two months All you can Eat Chicken Feast. We expected the wait but not the inattentiveness. Once we got there I put our name on the list and we ended up waiting around for over an hour as we saw everyone after us get seated first. We asked about our name 10 times and finally they admitted they had forgotten about us. They seated us but then it was 10 minutes to get drinks and another 30 to get our first round of chicken. I wont lie, the chicken was amazing! The breading was crisp and wonderful and the chicken juicy. Knowing how big the wait was we decided to put another order of chicken in as soon as the first came out... another 25 minutes. I am sympathetic to busy restaurants but it was clear that they had no idea how to run their all you can eat night. If I go back it will be a long long time from now and probably on a Tuesday when dinner is ending so they don't forget we are there.

We love the Cottage. I am not a buffet goer so I cannot comment on that. But the breakfast is great. Also the barley soup is the best I've ever had.
(4)Christiaan T.
friendly great staff and the food, well....... its ok. They have breakfast, hard to screw that up if you get a burger tell them NO SALT. I go here a lot for business lunch meetings. Four stars for the staff, Two stars for the food

I've been frequenting this establishment for breakfast for over 30 years, and in the past 3-5 years it has steadily gone down hill. The service is consistently lacking. The staff is not friendly. On a busy weekend morning, there is total confusion and disorganization at the front regarding putting your name in for a table, and expect to get overlooked and your name passed because it appears they have little to no system. And what is worst.. the food is 'Meh' at best. First, They advertise on their website that they use Glier's Goetta - a local favorite of the Cincinnati style morning meat patty - but they have recently converted to some other brand goetta which is bland, looks like cardboard, and is unappealing, and of course tastes horrible. Their bacon looks like it was the cheapest cut available, and tastes about the same. The eggs and potatoes were ok. They messed up a friend's order, and the staff was difficult to deal with to resolve the matter, and after the friend opted to just return the order, the staff refused a refund.... What ever happened to a customer is always right (at least most of the time). Anytime a staff treats customers poorly, I perceive that as a poor management/ownership issue, and therefore lots of other problems likely unseen by patrons. Regardless, this place used to be good, but has moved to the lower rankings in my book. There are a number of other quality breakfast options in the area.

Found from a Yelp search. Great place for breakfast or brunch before a Bengals game. Hostess was the most essential as in genuinely hospitable. We got breakfast and weren't disappointed. Home fries are real fresh sliced potatoes. The eggs tasted like they just arrived from the farm. I wasn't as impressed with my pancake as it wasn't as fluffy as I like it. Prices were reasonable.....comparably to Bob Evans. I recommend you try it.
(4)Katie U.
Great family restaurant. Large menu including breakfast items, homestyle classics, steaks, salads, burgers, sandwiches, and a LOT of side options to choose from (I had creamed cauliflower for the first time). GREAT prices. Friendly staff. Not the place for a first date - an older clientelle. But a great value for a family night out.
(4)Dave N.
Great food...staff is friendly. Chicken is great. All you can eat. Good price. Been going here forever. Always a great time.
(5)John M.
Great place to eat reasonable prices I actually like their breakfast best of all. The morning servers always get your food to you quickly.
(4)Chad F.
The service was great. It's also a very convenient location. The food was okay, nothing awesome, just okay. I'd research other places unless you're in need of a quick fix.
(3)Matt W.
First of all, local breakfast places are the best -- and Colonial Cottage is one of the only good ones in the Erlanger/Florence/Crescent Springs area. The food is always good, and the place is always busy -- that tells you something right there. The atmosphere is kind of strange given the décor and the fact that this is kind of a senior citizen hangout. Getting a table is a challenge, when people are paying at the hostess stand, as there is little room by the door to stand and wait. Overall, though it is THE breakfast place in the area!
(4)Sarah D.
I'm from South Carolina so maybe I'm just a little picky about my fried chicken. They claim it is the best fried chicken in Northern Kentucky but I've had better from KFC. The dark meat was too greasy in parts and the white meat was very, very dry. Also, what's up with the lack of biscuits? How can you serve fried chicken without biscuits?! Instead they gave us cold rolls with margarine. Margarine?! Yuck. So I wasn't all too impressed with the food, except the pecan pie. The pecan pie was absolutely delicious and I might go back just for that. Our waiter was great but I can't really comment on the atmosphere because we went late on Sunday night. I not going to judge a place on their off hours.
(2)Dane D.
I was really looking forward to trying some food here. We had never heard of Goetta and were pleasantly surprised, but could have been treated better. The fact that I had ordered a Prime Rib Dip sandwich and was told the didn't have the au jus, after the server had taken our orders and had come back to inform me. So I was suggested the Prime Rib steak sandwich and it was just horrible, tough, little flavor, only sauteed onions as a condiment. My wife was not impressed with her food and the soups that she did try were very poorly executed. The Parking situation there has to rank up there as one of the most awkward.
(2)Woody W.
Sitting in view of the kitchen area, I attached a pic, and I hear a woman in the kitchen say "Anthony, that disgusting, would you eat that?" apparently, Anthony is the cook, his response was was, "it's fine take it out" and.......... She did. Totally ruined our appetite, we will not be back.
(2)May K.
Came for brunch on a Saturday. I had to try the fried chicken, hubby had the Bluegrass plate and kids had a burger and one had pancakes. The food was all excellent except the veggie for the day was canned green beans and tasted like the can and the corn bread was dry and bland. But the chicken was tasty, pancakes were heavenly, burgers and fries done right and definitely worth the trip. There was no wait but I'm sure it gets busy for breakfast. Oh and we had the goetta which was like a corned beef hash and the kids devoured it.

My drum major daughter told me there's something in marching band competition called 'recovery points'. That is, you can earn points by recovering well from a screw up. Kinda like life, that. So the first issue wasn't really in need of a recovery but they did it anyway. A bit of a wait but we showed up with a large group on a night when the words "All you can eat fried chicken" were on the sign. But the hostess kept tabs on us while we stood and explained the situation. Once seated my wife was accosted by a woman complaining loudly about the service. She seemed like a nutter but we were a touch concerned. After she left, the owner did say they were slammed, explained why, asked for our patience. No problem. The food didn't seem to take that long. Nice points for recovery. For the food: Great biscuits, great mashed potatoes, great gravey but come on. We know the fried chicken is the star here. Moist with the right amount of breading. One thing about our current culture is everything must be TO THE EXTREME! so fried chicken batter is doused in hot spices that overwhelm the chicken flavor or over do the batter to make the EXTRA CRISPY! Not here. Just good honest chicken with nice sides at a great price. Then there was pie. Nice, flavorful pies with mountains of meringue. My lemon was nice. My daughter's chocolate cream was nice. Although, none of us could eat all of the slice we were given. That's 5 stars in my book. So why the 4 stars? In the room we were put a 20 inch TV hung from the corner and was blaring "Inside Edition". Why, Oh Why would anyone think "Inside Edition" would add to my dining experience? I turned it off with my TV B Gone. But as my rule, any restaurant that feels the need to blast a TV at me losses a star.

Catfish fingers are the best. Really. I've come 3 times now just for that. Family style restaurant with local ambiance. Salad was good too. Did I mention the Catfish fingers are the best?
(4)Glenn O.
We went for breakfast with friends who are regulars. There is a wide selection of breakfast dishes many including traditional dishes and ingredients - country ham, goetta, catfish and lots more. Terrific omelets and many good choices for dessert. In business for 80+ years and going strong. Check out the web site for the menu and more details.

This place used to be so good. It has experienced a slow downward spiral over the last year, though. I remember having many, many family dinner at Colonial Cottage when I was younger and even going there on Sundays for their Sunday buffet that used to be upstairs. My husband and I ate here back in the summer and it was a really bad experience. We have given it several other tries since then, all with the same results. The food has seriously gone downhill and so has the service. In one instance, I had ordered soup as part of my entree but when it was brought out, it was cold. Our waitress never even came back to check on us, so we had to ask the woman at the register if there was someone who could bring me warm soup. A server took my bowl but just put it in the microwave or something - spoon, crumbled crackers in the soup and all - then brought it back out. I then scalded my mouth on the spoon and overly hot soup. I really hope Colonial Cottage finds its way back up from this slump. It used to be awesome. Not it just ... isn't. I'd rather eat at Waffle House and that's pretty sad.

You know, I'm reading all these review and I simply wonder? Is this the same restaurant I've tried at least 15 times for breakfast and finally gave up and decided never to return? This place was the first on my list for the "quest for good, hometown, homemade breakfast that won't break the bank" when I moved to Elsmere. I was super excited that this locally heralded mainstay was within 4 minutes from our house, and remember eating there as a kid. The elderly gentleman who lived across the street from us grew up in this restaurant--his mother was the original proprietor. Unfortunately, the combination of terrible service and mediocre food keeps me from going back. When you go out on a Saturday morning, you might not be in a hurry (typically) but you certainly want to be waited on. I've had better service at a Taco Bell. At Colonial Cottage, we've been completely forgotten about, after being seated by a nice hostess, after flagging down a server to say, "hello, we're here and have been here" (for 20 minutes without coffee!), who never did come back is, in my book, terrible service. More often, it's just like they're phoning it in. So busy they can't dispense with pleasantries. Or, my personal favorite--everyone who goes must eat the same thing so they get flustered when you'd like a menu--like it's going to put them out to have to come back and take you order. When I have had decent service, the food just wasn't worth the wait. I can make a tasteless omlette at home. Maybe the stars and planets aren't in aline for me like they are for all these other reviewers, but after 15 years of living near and trying this place, I'm over it.
(2)Ashley K.
Great food I love it they are known for there gotta i didn't no about this place in tell I moved back out here little over 2 years ago I'm glade I found this place I would keep going there and the people who work there are friendly only down fall is they need more heat in there in the winter

I hate to write this...Yelp...you failed me. Uugg!!! I'm not sure where all the 4 and 5 Star folks were eating but it couldn't have been at the same Colonial Cottage that we stopped at for Sunday Brunch. I would have given them a single star if it hadn't been for Bobby (our server) and the goetta (it was very good). We all chose the buffet because of all the great reviews. It was a poor decision. Here were the infractions, in no particular order: Brunch Buffet was pitifully stocked with 12 items. Fried chicken was tasteless. Eggs were o.k. Egg bake was rubbery. Pies...omg...banana creame was worse than store-bought. Seating was extremely cramped. We won't be able to give you a 2nd chance... For those who think I just don't know about southern cooking...lived in TN for 10 years, this place was NOT a good reflection of great southern cooking.
(2)Alex S.
There are lots of places out there that try to capture the homey comfortable feeling of good food and simple times ... but not many of them actually pull it off. Colonial Cottage nails it. Right from the name, you know you're going to be well looked after and well fed - like a trip to your grandmother's house. Tucked away in Kentucky, this is not a spot you'd know about unless someone was showing you (or telling you about it right here.) Still, it's worth the trip down for some good homecooked food. The menu is extensive and filled with items like goetta wraps and catfish plates - and all of it tasty and well priced. I got to try the wrap, which was good, and the Prime Rib French Dip which was all kinds of tasty! I also had a nice slice of their coconut cream pie, which was tasty. Not the best pie I've ever had but satisfied my sweet tooth. I might stick with the savory here though, because that's where they really shine. I really enjoyed my meal here. The staff was friendly, the food was fast and the atmosphere was cute. It's pretty much exactly what you want from a cottage in KY.
(4)Chet C.
Had breakfast and lunch in one sitting, goetta is like a breakfast hash which is quite tasty. Fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes was great! Highly recommend this place, our waitress Linda was great!

Six friends and I stopped by The Cottage for its bi-monthly All-You-Can-Eat Fried Chicken Night. Some of them were first-time visitors, others had dined here occasionally. By the end of the night, they were all hooked. I made reservations for our table of seven, which was ready and waiting upon arrival. Heather, our server, did a fantastic job of refilling our drinks, chicken, and side dishes. This was especially impressive since five of our diners were young men with ferocious appetites. One of my friends devoured nine pieces of chicken. That's almost two whole birds! Fried Chicken Night is served up family style for your table: a platter of chicken, with serving bowls of mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, and biscuits. Everything came out fresh and piping hot. The chicken was naturally the highlight of the meal; golden, crispy, with just the right amount of spices. The mashed potatoes and biscuits were also a hit. The first bowl was empty by the time it was passed down the table to me. Of course that meant I had first servings of the second refill bowl! I'm also a big fan of green beans, and had three helpings. During our meal, Matt, the owner, stopped by to say hello to everyone. One of my regular servers, Bobby, also greeted us during our feast. While I did manage to save room for pie, most of my table did not. Everyone was incredibly stuffed by the end of the night. Some, despite being filled to the brim, continued to clean their plate. That's how you know its good food.
(5)Jack R.
If you like home style country cooking then this is the place for you. We went for all you can eat fried chicken night and that is what we got. The chicken was good not the best but good. The meal also came with green beans, mashed potatoes, and gravy. The food just kept coming out. The service staff was great with how busy it was in there. The place was packed by the time we got there. However it is the pie that steals it here. I have two pieces of pie. I got the chocolate and the dutch apple. the chocolate was really good but the dutch apple was to die for. If we are in the area again and hungry I would eat there again.
(4)Keri S.
Bad service and mediocre food. How did this place get those good reviews? My husband and I got there and the staff was nice, they cleaned a booth for us and taking a sit wasn't a big deal. We ordered the fried chicken which is supposed to be one of their specialties in the place, also a few sides and a french dip sandwich after asking for the opinion of the waitress without getting any helpful answer. First, the food took forever to come to the table, I saw a couple other tables with people who got there after us had their meal and even left before us, but that isn't the really bad part. While waiting I felt like we were completely invisible, not a single person got close to ask if we needed anything, so that made me feel very uncomfortable. When the food finally arrived at least mine wasn't warm enough, but I was starving so I didn't complain. I am very sad to say that it was just average, the fried chicken is not really that good, I'd rather have KFC or Popeye's. Mashed potatoes, onion rings, french fries were just mediocre, and OMG the bacon was horrible, it felt like it was microwaved, actually everything felt like it was coming from a frozen bag instead of being fresh. I can say that the only reason I'm giving two stars to the place is because of the sandwich I had, which was basically the only decent thing we ordered. I don't think we'll be coming back any time soon.

Colonial's a good word. It triggers thoughts of a simpler time - of a young, up and coming America, with good ol' southern cooking. Also Battlestar Galactica. I had been to Colonial Cottage a few times before, and always had a good enough time. Recently Paige M. drug me along to the chicken dinner, so I figured a review was in order. And I have to say, if you're going to be drug to anything, a chicken dinner is a pretty good destination. So the first thing I have to say about CC, if you're going to get goetta, they serve up the best goetta around. That alone is worth five stars, and they're also a big deal at Goettafest. If you're looking to show an out of towner our local delicacy, this is the place to do it. But the rest of their food is also solid. Commenting on their chicken dinner, the chicken was great, but especially the mashed potatoes. They were just creamy enough, and the gravy was awesome. The green beans I felt needed a dash of salt, but that's easy enough to accomplish. They also have a rewards card that gives you $10 off after you spend $100. That's pretty cool. Plus, how many cottages have you eaten at lately? Yeah. That's what I thought.
(5)Mitch R.
Yummy! We are new to the area and are really happy to have a new favorite 2nd Kitchen. We've been twice in the past week and last time we scouted what we wanted on the next trip. The food is classic American Fare done simply and well. Servers are friendly and service is good. On my first visit I had a KY Hot Brown which was pretty good as well as some hot slaw, great stuff. On my 2nd visit I had a pork chop with some excellent green beans. We are looking forward to trying the fried chicken which is highly recommended. Good family restaurant...pie is excellent.

Finally ate breakfast here after recommendations from fellow yelpers and a co-worker. It's the Pepper Pod with these improvements: faster and no smoking. Well, it's probably much more, but this morning (a rainy Easter morning no less), we found a close parking space, were immediately seated and greeted and checked on many times to ensure we were pleased. I had the breakfast wrap with some extras: tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and green pepper. Very yummy. Ate half of it (plus helped my hubby with his pancakes and cottage potatoes). The server brought me an iced tea to go, as well as a small take out box for my leftovers. Seems like everyone knows everyone here. What's not to like???
(4)Jay H.
Colonial Cottage, good breakfast. First thing I tend to order when I am there is the geotta nachos. When my sister comes in town, she craves for geotta. So we come here often,we like the restaurant atmosphere, it always busy.
(4)Jeff R.
Great food, Great Service! I had been to Colonial Cottage several times in the past. Because I enjoyed it in the past when I had a lunch meeting I chose to schedule it there. I wanted to check out the menu before the meeting so that I could concentrate on the meeting instead of the menu. I was so concerned with the reviews I read that I called the Owner to ask him what the issue was. He assured me that the food and service was what I remembered. I promised that if it was as I remembered I would tell everyone and if there was a problem I would tell him first. The food and service were excellent! Just as I remembered! I can't wait to return for goetta and eggs!
(4)Jordan O.
Food was okay, we got the big breakfast with a little bit of everything, nothing spectacular, I did like that you could add cheese to everything, which made the breakfast potatoes better. The service was great, you could tell the server was really happy about his job and enjoyed it. And he let us try the Goeta...sort of like oatmeal with meat in it, my wife hated it, I thought it tasted interesting, but wouldn't have been able to get through a bunch of it. All in all, an okay place if you're in the area, but nothing to write home about.

This seems to be a local favorite, and I don't enjoy being a contrarian. However, this was definitely in the "meh" category for us. I like good 'ol American food as much as the next guy, but the execution was somewhat lacking in a lot of it. My wife's salmon croquettes, which was the special, basically tasted like it was made from that canned salmon that Bumblebee sells like tuna. The greenbeans also seemed to be harvested using a can-opener. My fried chicken fared somewhat better. While not the best, the dark meat version was moist (the white was dry), and the crust managed flavor without seeming as if dipped in grease. It could probably have used more spices, but overall it was by far the best thing we had. The potatoes were, I feel confident saying, the result of boxed potato flakes; having eaten a steady diet of the stuff as a kid, I have a certain fondness for instant potatoes - but they still don't compare to homemade. The 'hot slaw' was just foul. It basically was coleslaw with what very literally seemed like burned pan-drippings poured on it. I took one bite and that was more than enough. The dessert was frankly Jell-O style chocolate pie mix, and the meringue was poor. Overall, I debated whether to give this a three based on the chicken, but in the end it wasn't enough to make the meal more than barely acceptable.

Food is always good. Our server Ed is always friendly. Great breakfast joint. Try the steak and eggs.

I bookmarked this place to try because of the "Best Fried Chicken" designation from NKY Magazine and I was not disappointed! We ate here for lunch on a recent Sunday and while the ambiance is unmistakably retirement-home-cafeteria, the service is prompt and helpful, the prices are reasonable, and the food is down-home delicious! I had to order fried chicken and they have a special on Sunday for $8.99 for 2 pieces of chicken, 2 sides and a piece of cornbread (or roll)--can't beat that! I got mashed potatoes with chicken gravy and coleslaw for my sides. The coleslaw was a bit watery and heavy on the celery salt, but also crisp and refreshing without being overly sweet. The mashed potatoes were grandma-made-them-for-Thanksgiving-dinner good. The cornbread was OK--not overly sweet, but a little dry. The chicken was fantastic--moist, tender chicken under crisp, flavorful breading with a lightness that belied the deep-fried preparation. The husband got a club sandwich and fries, which he was happy with and we ordered from the kids' menu for the little one. I wished for some healthier options, but the price was so low (all kids' menu items are $2.99) that I added on a nice-size side of fresh fruit ($1.99) to at least round it out and it still cost less than many kids' menu items at other places.

My fellow and I weren't a part of the geriatric crowd present when we checked the Colonial Cottage out but a restaurant that has been around since the 1930s clearly has some longtime loyal patrons. We appreciated the friendly service - lots of help with deciding from a very down home menu. Even though it was after 3, breakfast is available all day, he ordered the grandpa's favorite and raved about the home fries. I tried the breaded pork chops w mashed potatoes and white gravy. Yummy!!! Too much food to squeeze in deserts but they boast a homemade selection of cream pies and fruit pies. I sampled a bite of the not overly sweet strawberry rhubarb pie. My server's favorite - chocolate bourbon pecan pie was I brought back. Super sweet.
(4)Louise D.
The food: very decent. Best chicken wings so far, amazing mashed potatoes (sooo good!), green beans with bacon in it (what more do you want?) and a big coconut pie. My first "all you can eat chicken wings" here was a great experience. The food isn't fancy (it's chicken wings, what do you expect?), but good quality. The servers know people by name and are very welcoming. The surroundings aren't that nice, but the moment you take your first bite, you'll be hooked to the food so everything else doesn't really matter anymore! Even the fact that my silverware was dirty didn't really throw me off. That's how good the food was. Really.
(4)Sherry T.
My husband and I gave it a try after purchasing a Deal Chicken deal. Service was good. It's definitely a family restaurant, so keep that in mind in case whining kids get on your nerves. They clearly make their food from scratch, which is much appreciated. You can't go wrong with their goetta or pie. In fact, the lemon meringue pie is one of the best I've ever had.
(4)Lester B.
The fried chicken deserves its praise: light and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and tasty all over. Service was super friendly, attentive, and helpful. And they do serve a limited selection of beers.

Great home cooking, then even have a lot of vegetarian dishes and boca burgers. However, you really just go there for the pie it is amazing.

Great home cooking! Love the Lunch specials and have the best pies in town! Cannot go wrong here for home cooking! Older Crowd!

The best fried chicken we have had in a long time! Country fried steak was also delicious! Disappointed in the mashed potatoes since they tasted "instant". I was looking forward to the homemade cornbread muffin but it was really dry and salty? I was only able to eat one bite. If the rating was based on only the fried chicken I would give it 5 stars!

I use to love this place. The family now begs me not to take them there. They changed their Goetta from Gliers to Queen City and now breakfast there just isn't the same.

Ever have one of those mornings where you just want a simple breakfast? This morning I wanted just a basic breakfast - a Waffle House would have worked but this place was closer. If you're in the mood for Grandma's ole fashioned cooking - this is the place! Very generous portions, reasonably priced and a very friendly staff. I'll be back. I got the Colonial Breakfast which is served with 2 pork chops, it was a big breakfast but was easy to share.
