First, let's get the food out if the way. It's good and reasonably priced, else I would not fool with the place. Why? The service at this location is, in a word, inefficient. And it has been this way forever. Why can't a franchise owner or area manager or someone with authority to make changes stand back, take a look at what's going on here, and fix it. Requiring the wait staff to not only wait tables, but to be greeter/seater, and cashier is totally insane. As I checked out today, after a lengthy lunch meal, the poor waitress was a bit cross, grumbling that she had tables waiting for her. And she did. My suggestions - hire another cook, so the manager can cashier and can fix any problems before a customer exits. During busy lunch and dinner times, hire a host or hostess. Those people I saw turn around and leave because it took so long to be seated would have paid for this extra person. I'm sure your turn over is high, but fully train a wait person before you stick them with a whole huge section. My order was wrong and I heard the lady behind me tell the waitress her order was wrong. Sweet tea is really not the same thing as unsweet tea. So, food good; service bad, but from management staffing decisions. The wait staff are busting their asses, but the inefficient structure is against them.

I know it's only Steak n Shake so I'm not expecting the best experience but this was awful. We didn't get our order taken until we had already been seated for 20 minutes. The bathrooms needed attending badly as the trash can was overflowing and the floors were dirty in the restaurant as a whole. One plus is the food was good. I won't be going back.

Food was fast and OK. Burgers not very thick so u need to get a double or triple. Very very dirty floors and booths. Employees regularly walk past deficiencies without correcting them. Being in the military I notice things like that very fast. When i looked at the manager with a stained shirt and tie that looked like it hadnt been cleaned in days, i then knew why the place was dirty. Overall OK service but wouldn't go out of the way for this place.

First off, I actually like the food. And I love the prices. But damn, if the place isn't always packed (not that good that it's worth waiting for). Another thing, every time I come here, it takes at least 20 minutes to get the food. Service is always slow, and I'm not sure who's to blame, but somebody needs to investigate the process. If the parking lot is empty, then I'd give this place a 4.

This is the slowest place in town. Our order was a BLT and a veggie sandwich. Standard items. Nothing special. Forty- five minutes later, we're still waiting. AND, even worse, the manager is mopping up ( you can't call it cleaning) table after table with the same balled up paper napkins. So unacceptable!

Waited six minutes for someone to acknowledge us, when they had open tables. The dining room was dirty. The restroom smelled of grease and the floor was sticky. They were using the same mop in the kitchen and restroom. Doesn't Elisabeth Town have health inspectors? A couple of the servers seemed annoyed, when interacting with customers. They messed up the order. We had to get our silverware and napkins. Yelp needs a 0 star option.

No stars. The section we were seated in was empty... There were 2 of us and one small child. Took 15 minutes b4 we saw our waitress. A party of 6 came in after us, then 2, then 2, then 1, then another single. All got their food before us. At the 1/2 hour point we got our drinks, and the 3 year old got her DESSERT. No food. Dessert was a cake shake, which so overly sweet the kid didn't want it. We had asked for it to be brought at the end of the meal, with the check. Flagged the waitress down, she was quite rude and curt.'Your food will be here in a minute' (emphasis on minute) she acted like we were bothering her. after 45 minutes we got up and left. Manager didnt seem surprised at which waitress it was. I think the waitress was only tending to tables that she thought would leave a good tip. Too bad, I tip good. As we walked out the door, noticed our order coming out of the kitchen. So we stopped to watch the waitress. She was so confused. So were we. Everyone who came in after us....got the same thing we did. Floors were dirty and the restrooms filthy.

Arrived at dinner time, seated right away. Server came quickly and got drinks quickly. Ordered and was served quickly. Food was fine (a burger with bacon and fried egg feels like an indulgence). Not gigantic portions, but worth the price. Good food, good service, good price.
