The restaurant was very cute and the workers did a very good job of taking care of us. The cook came out and took our order and made sure we were satisfied with everything. They had great customer service and their food was fresh and delicious.

Cute place. Delicious food. I liked reading the history of the the building too. Good coffee. Great cobbler! My husband looved the thin crust BBQ pizza. I had a burger on a pretzel roll.

I wish I had better things to report about this place, as they obviously have put some time and money into making the interior lovely. We showed up for breakfast and the place was nearly empty. I had read the reviews but not the menu, and soon realized that a lot of the food here is frozen and pre-portioned. I went with 2 eggs over medium with hash browns and toast. I asked about the supposed home made bread, and the server told me that they used to have someone baking for them, but no longer did. So I asked for whole wheat toast with my eggs. What I got was packaged white bread of a very poor quality...maybe one step up from Wonder. The hash browns were the kind you get at McDonald's, only they make them better there. This hash brown cake was greasy and tasted badly of the oil they use in the fryer, which may have needed to be changed out. I left them on the plate. I will say that the woman cooking breakfast can fry an egg...they were perfectly done, hence the 2 stars. The coffee was also good. I tried a blueberry scone, as everyone goes on about the baked goods, and even that failed the test. It was under baked and cakey, not crumbly like a good scone should be. I wish they weren't cutting so many corners here on food quality, as they have a nice concept in a quaint and lovely town.

This place was such a surprise! The breakfast was absolutely delicious with plenty of hot fresh coffee in a never empty cup. The bread is baked daily fresh to be used as toast and bread for sandwiches. I even took a loaf home that was baked by Jodi a very friendly worker there who made my breakfast! I enjoyed my breakfast so much I came back for lunch! I must say I don't know the next time I will ever be coming to Elizabethtown, but if you do I promise you nothing will disappoint you about venturing to this awesome cafe!

Very cute, good service and good food. Dessert is not to be missed! We stopped here on the way from western Kentucky, and we were very glad we did. So nice to find such a great local place!

Decor interesting. Food average. Good coffee, tea and desserts. Would do best as a coffee/dessert bar.

Love this place! Great prices, good food, great coffee!! I've been here 3 days in a row, in town for business. Breakfast every time.

My party of five stopped in for quick breakfast sandwiches to go. We had to hit the road but allotted 20 minutes for breakfast. The order of five sandwiches took 40 minutes. We took them in a hurry and ran out, 20 minutes late for our journey and unable to allow rest stop time for the trip. Three of the five breakfast sandwiches had no eggs. I want to stress that over half of our breakfast sandwiches had NO EGGS. Some were requested with two eggs but showed up with NONE. One sandwich that was ordered without cheese was covered in cheese, so our lactose intolerant friend who waited 40 minutes for an egg sandwich couldn't eat it once it arrived. I will say to their credit that the wraps and sandwiches that did have eggs were tiny and the consistency of cardboard. Very hard to eat, literally. We called to ask for a refund. Upon the fourth attempt someone answered and informed us that she did not know how to perform a credit card refund. She took our phone number and said she would call us back in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later she called back to offer us a gift card. We explained that we were just passing through and could make no use of said gift card. She then gave us the number of a person to call on Monday (two days later) for a refund. I guess we'll see how that goes in a couple days. I'm sure these are good people and I'm sure they've prepared tasty food in the past, but I feel the need to convey that this was maybe the worst breakfast experience any of us have ever had. I would like to think that somewhere in the world, someone is suddenly eating a fluffy 8 egg breakfast wrap as a kind of karmic retribution for our experience. Trying to give no stars, let's see if the app lets me...

Very cute little coffee shop. The Cobbler's breakfast was good for the price and my free cookie was good also.

Expect a limited selection and a long wait time. The ingredients for lunches are all fair to low quality- toasted white bread, clubhouse crackers etc. Nothing special but also not bad. Very hit or miss. If the older/owner(?) staff are working they are friendly and attentive. Other staff is very inattentive and not very friendly. However, in this town with so few non-chain options I still try to support this business- and it is a unique tiny shop worth visiting. I don't take company here anymore though, too slow, too small and overpriced for the low quality. Want to love it, but always a bit of a let down.

Went in to place a to-go order, had to wait until the only waitress had a minute. By the time she asked me if she could help me I was sweating because it was hotter in the building than outside (in mid July). My onion rings were almost to the point of burnt and tasted like the grease was very old. They also put bacon on my sandwich when I specifically asked for no bacon. The scone I ordered was soggy and soft. There was a lady trying to look in the dessert case, but you couldn't see what was in there from all of the condensation, so the waitress told her that if she wanted to see what was in the case she should just wipe off all the water herself with her hand....Really?!!!!

Cobbler's Cafe has it all: friendliness, delicious food, and a whole lot of variety. The waitress charmed us with her hospitality and knowledge of the menu. Sandwich plates are large and filling. If you are indecisive individual with a sweet tooth, don't look behind the deli glass. There are so many tantalizing treats to choose from! While, visiting the Cobbler's Cafe, why not check out the site where Abraham Lincoln's father and stepmother exchanged their wedding vows, right around the corner at 117 Cs-1320?

I can't speak on much of what they offer, because we just got coffee on our way out of town, however, what I can say is that I received excellent customer service, and yummy coffee and crumb cake. I would say that the latte that we ordered was a little heavy on the syrup, making it too sweet, but I'm kind of a coffee snob. Overall I would say that it was a cute, quaint, pleasant little place to stop.

Coffee was good but don't eat breakfast here unless you have at least an hour to burn. Tried to eat here twice and both times it took forever to get our food. Owner needs to hire more staff because they lost a customer forever. The second time there was no one in the cafe but us.

I was very disappointed in the food at this cafe. I do not eat frozen foods at home and my entire meal except the eggs seemed frozen. I even heard the girl say the fruit in the cobbler was frozen, I chose not to get any dessert because of that. My boyfriend was very happy with his past visit and he was very disappointed this time.

Food was solid, nothing crazy, but the meal tasted fresh.. Service was friendly, one of our sides came out a little late so they gave us all free dessert... Definitely worth the 5 minute drive off the highway instead of the chain places right off highway

Went there twice more and they didn't have any cobbler or homemade bread. Very disappointing! Since that's why I love this place, I probably won't go as often.

Stopped in for lunch while passing through. Very pleasantly surprised to find a nice, clean, friendly place. Food was freshly prepared and tasty. Martha and Rose took great care of us. After sandwiches we had a spectacular cobbler with ice cream and a very high quality cappucino. recommended to anyone who enjoys real food cooked with love, served by wonderful human beings and washed down with the best coffee in six states (by my count).

I have been here a couple of times. The food is no better than average and the prices aren't great for what you get. You would be better served checking out some of this towns other establishments unless you are looking for something different than the usual places for a change of pace.

I can't stand little 'cutesie' bistro/coffeehouse joints. They are so cliche. But...I LOVE Cobbler's Cafe! I had some business in the area not long ago and had an hour or so to kill. I decided to check out the local scenery and came across Cobbler's. I went inside and was immediately greeted by an awesome woman server. I'd been in the restaurant industry for over 35 years and fully know that first impressions have a lasting effect on future customers. I ordered some coffee and a scone to be polite and was pleasantly surprised. Scones are usually dry and flavorless. This one was AWESOME. The coffee was just the right temp and full of flavor. And I'm not an avid coffee drinker. Needless to say, I have been back several times. You've got to try their soups. They're all AMAZING!!! I go out of my way to visit Cobbler's whenever I'm in Etown. Highly....highly recommended! Did I say highly recommended?

Great, homey place. If you want the best place in Elizabethtown for some non-chain food and the friendliest staff you'll find it here. Menu isn't exotic, but if you are looking for that you're in the wrong town. Maybe the wrong state. If you want good breakfast or lunch (or dinner), you've found it.

  • Kristie S.

The coffee is good but they need more of a variety. The parking situation there sucks, you have to share parking with the courthouse and it's a difficult task to find a space in walking distance.

The organic chamomile tea was soothing and the homemade beef & vegetable soup was hearty. Some fresh, homemade wheat bread even came with the soup! The prices were right and the sweet woman behind the counter was intelligent and kind. She stayed open a teensy bit after closing time, letting me enjoy my soup. We had a lovely conversation and it was great to meet someone around my age who could yak about interesting things (I am new to the area, and don't have many cool lady friends yet)! And, for those who think I was yakked AT the whole time, she also allowed for a quiet time so I could sit and enjoy my book. I love to seek out cafes that are NOT Starbucks. Cobbler's Cafe is ROCKIN'. Free wifi, sweet peeps and quality items to put into your bod. DO IT! I would've given the place 5 stars if the hours were better. But that's business and the economy, I 'spose. :-/

This is a cute little restaurant downtown. It's one of the only local restaurants that we have here in etown that is decent. I really like heir breakfast food and they have great dessert. The service is always prompt and friendly.

Meh. It's not homemade (no matter how it's described)...Nothing is actual, real, fresh food. And if it's even remotely palatable when mass-produced and thawed from frozen, they're out of it. Even with Roxie's diffusing the business day "brunch-time" custom. Exposed brick doesn't equal home cooking. *Double face palm* As to how they keep the food variety on the menu per another reviewer (who has a grand total of one review -- of Cobbler's Cafe -- with six of seven photos relating to Cobbler's Cafe -- yeah, that's not suspect, no, not at all!)...it's all crap. And even then, they're always out of most of it. It isn't about wanting an "EXOTIC" menu (per another tragically befuddled reviewer). It's about wanting to be served actual food, not a frozen, tasteless, sodium-laden crap-fest. I'm fairly sure that at least 50% of the hot items served here involve a microwave. The other 50% are coffee. I'm certain that they don't have a flat top and I know nothing that I've ever eaten from here in 10 years tasted like an actual oven or burner was involved, either. Even when they *were* using fresh bread, it was baked off-site (and they haven't done that in many, many years), strengthening my perspective that there isn't a lot of "kitchen" in their kitchen. Yeah. Fer truesies. When the most positive food pic your establishment has (after more than ten years in business) involves an ice cream scooper of X-knows what Sam's pre-made chicken salad over a badly arranged bed of iceberg with a sadly bent pickle and a complete sleeve of crackers (WTF???), dunno what to say. Well, there's always "WTF?????" And, per the reviewer recommending dinner here: they open & close whenever the hell they feel like it or...3 pm is a beyond - generous estimate of their closing time.

I was in town to do an overnight ghost hunt down the street at the Morrison Lodge. And, as much as I'm into chasing things that go bump into the night, I'm just about as in to stuffing my face with any new goodness I can find, especially if the place is locally owned, and has a cool history... yeah.. check & check! I parked in a public lot up the street & relied on my handy dandy yelp app on my phone. I knew it'd lead me to some goodness. Cobbler's Cafe popped up with it's nice reviews and southern charm, so I had to check it out. When I walked in I was a bit confused. I didn't know if I just sit down or order at the counter in the back. There was a large group to my left and an eccentric lady sitting at table in the front. I walked to the back and the girl told me to pick a seat and she'd come take my order. I checked in on Yelp and saw that I could get a free drink.. bonus! I needed a caffeine fix since I'd be running around a dark building all night looking for what may lurk in the shadows.. and they delivered. VAULT. YUM. It's like Mt.Dew's cracked out cousin. The owner came over after I was there for a moment, and he was super nice. He gave me a suggestion of things to try, and the chicken tenders topped the list. Well I was in breakfast and lunch sorta mood, so I ordered a chicken tender wrap. It had the best of both worlds.. chicken tenders, eggs, cheese, etc. The only thing I would have added was ranch dressing. It was tasty just as he said it would be. Now, why I really gave this place 5 stars... Remember the eccentric lady I mentioned? Well I have a bleeding heart and the lady had left, but kept wandering around outside. I was worried about her because she was ill and I didn't know if she had any place to go. Well, I forgot I was in the south. The staff of this cute little place had it covered. When she came in they found out she was diabetic & needed to eat pronto. The woman pulled a bag of change out to pay for a bowl of chili but the cafe was out of it. Now, in Cincinnati, where I'm from... Many places would have turned her out. The waitress got her a burger and some fries instead and paid the difference. That warmed my heart, and just seeing someone else that cared in this day and age gave me such a great feeling. The service was great, the food was tasty & the place has charm. Not a doubt that this place is 5 stars. I'll be heading back to Elizabeth town in May and I plan on stopping by this cute little place again with a group, so they can enjoy what I did. :)

My fiancé and I were on a roadtrip and needed to stop for lunch so we came across this sandwich joint that left a lot to be desired. There one lady working the front and the back of the house. Our sandwiches looked like they were slapped together and the food was as just not good nor fresh. The reviews were misleading.

I went here on a lunch break one day. The food was okay, but the fries were over saturated with oil. I normally don't say anything but in this case, I went up to the counter and told the waitress that I was not happy with the fries. She told me that the fries machine was broken and normally the fries are much better. She offered me something else and I told her I wanted a coffee. I pushed it a little and asked for creamer to go, and she obliged. The customer service in this place is great! The food not so much. ;) But then again, maybe it was just a bad day?

I stopped in for coffee and breakfast. I'd driven by a few times and the exterior finally drew me in. It looks classic and trendy at the same time. The coffee is good. I've ordered their White Chocolate Mocha twice now and both were consistent in flavor even though I had two different barrista's. I ordered the Western Omelet with toast. It was very good and the toasted bread was delicious and very obviously fresh and baked on site! Classy interior too. My only complaints are about parking and the wait time. It is small enough that there is only one person on staff (or so it seemed to me). This means that the person taking your order, making your coffee, and cooking your food is only one person so if it gets busy or they're in the back cooking and don't hear you come in, you could be waiting a little while for your order. As for the parking lot, it is not well-displayed and I found it by chance. It is located directly across from the courthouse so parking was sketchy enough already. You'll need to pull in to the lot directly to the left of the building's front entrance and go past the building and their lot is on the right by the fence. I will be going back though. It's a nice, local cafe for E-town and I hope others find it and enjoy it as well.

Was hoping that this place would be great, since it's located in downtown Elizabethtown and and the location could use all the business it could muster. The restaurant is cute, super small but very quaint and nicely decorated. When we ordered, they proceeded to tell us they were out of several things (including french fries - it was 11:30 in the afternoon). Then, about 10 minutes after we ordered, other patrons ordered fries and the same waitress didn't mention anything. Umm, okay. We got our food, and unfortunately I ordered potato salad and the wife ordered pasta salad. Seeing how this place is a small business, you'd think it would be homemade, but it tasted and looked exactly like the salads you get from a big tub labeled Reser's at a company picnic. Most of their food is processed and/or ready made, not what you'd expect from a place called a Cafe. And to top it off, it wasn't cheap. $6.99 for lunch and that didn't include a drink. This place needs a makeover - either have a limited menu and make everything from scratch (recommended), since the decor already matches, or lower the prices and call it what it is - a diner.

This place is OK. I had a turkey club sandwich and tried my wife's gyro. 1. it did not seem as if anything is home made here, the turkey club had what appeared to be a kraft single on it. otherwise the sandwich was decent. 2. The gyro was good, obviously they did not roast the meat on a spit here, but it was good, not greasy and well seasoned. 3. The best thing about the place was the blueberry scone I had. It was good and probably the only reason I gave the place 3 stars. A little on the sweet side, but had a tender crumb with a firm/crispy crust. If I were local, I would go again, but only if I was in old E-town.

I stopped there for lunch. Good sandwich. I don't drink coffee, but it looked like the barista knew what he was doing with other customers. Upscale scones, muffins, and brownies too. Only open from 7:30am to 3:30 pm. Small but good atmosphere. Very clean unisex restroom. Quaint and cozy brick building. Overpriced, but good food.

I really want to like this place...but they are making it hard. Really charming place. Has free WiFi!! Staff is nice, but appears poorly managed. I am hoping I just caught them on a bad day....but I don't think so. Espresso is ok. I'm not sure they know how to pull an espresso shot correctly....tasted over extracted. Oh, and the refills are expensive...and they only serve in paper cups. They seemed to be out of a lot of items on the menu. :( While I was here, I heard them tell others they were out of lemons, vanilla flavoring, roast beef, Swiss cheese... Another day, around 9:30am. I overheard here tell someone they had run out of eggs. Oh, and the cook messed up an order, but politely fixed the issue. The AC is not good. It was getting hot and I overheard a customer ask if it could be turned down and the staff said, "they couldn't do anything about it...they just didn't have very good AC." To make is worst the entrance door doesn't shut properly, so people kept leaving it open which made it loud and even more hot. I got up twice and shut the door myself. Lastly, one of the staff left and then when some new customers came in...we could find any staff for about 2 mins. I guess they were in the bathroom or outside. A few minutes the phone rang and rang and was never answered that I know of. ADD ON: A few weeks later, I had some time before a meeting and their sign said they open at 7:30. But, It was still closed. I sat outside....They opened at 7:55. The staff tapped on the window, so I would know they we're open. When I came in the staff didn't apologize.

Homemade bread, fresh out of the oven, really nice family run restaurant, lots of hospitality and good homemade food. The service was a little bit spacey, but then we were a little bit spacey that day as well so I think we were all on the same wave length.

YUUUUUUMMMM. I stopped through Elizabethtown while driving through Kentucky. This cute little cafe has a variety of sandwiches, soups, wraps etc. I had a chicken salad wrap which was delicious! The service is very nice and personable. I also had some of their homemade sweet tea which was also delicious. I highly recommend Cobblers Cafe!
