High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.

As a fan of out of town cafes/bistros/oddly named cheap restaurants, Beef O' Brady's sounds somewhat suave. The name is reminiscent of my fifth grade experience with a large boy named Brady. Having digestive issues, he often defecated in class during lecture. Taking classroom craps monthly earned him the nickname Beefy Butt Brady. Needless to say, Beef O' Brady's brings back some great memories. Arriving at a place formerly called Beef O' Ballsack in Lexington, I was not optimistic but decided to give it a chance. Upon entering I was impressed with the number of television sets within the facility and was happy that they were numbered so I wouldn't forget which TV I was looking at. This made watching women's UFC even more enjoyable. Beyond the atmosphere, the food was tantalizing. I ordered the medium wings and was tickled to see that the size met my standards and the taste stimulated my upper canines. Granted, the meat was probably frozen and bought from the local Kroger. My associate Kelean Cordovan was impressed with his meal as well and was quoted as saying, "Nothing's really special about this place. They did play my jam though(1000 miles by Vanessa Carlton)". Speaking of music, I had to knock off a star for the cacophony of radio music, live band, and karaoke. If seizures could be caused by sounds, audio epileptic persons would not enjoy this facility. In conclusion, if you enjoy women beating each other up, frozen hot wings, and musical gang bangs, you will love Beef O' Brady's. Ps. Hit up Robert Newbuck and his crew for great Yelp reviews fam!

Beef O'Brady's had a nice atmosphere and the food was decent although it did not stand out from other mid-range restaurants. The wait time on food is awful. When I went they were not busy and it still took a long time for our food to come out. The best aspect of this restaurant is that is a family family sports bar with a great wait staff that are extremely nice. I recommend Beef O'Brady's, however if you are looking for original food I would go someplace else.

Nice atmosphere, food was not great, service was lacking. Waitress apologized for late appetizer and late food. Waitress never refilled our drinks nor came back to see how the food was. Trivia night was entertaining. Nice family pub but focus is not on preparing tasty food nor service as evidenced by multiple waitresses apologizing for delays. Could be a better family pub. I've known the owner and founder of Beef O'Bradys, Jim Melody for over 18yrs and this franchise is currently below standard...but can improve.

Everything we ordered was delicious! The nacho's meat was juicy and tender, lots of cheese and toppings. Burger was gigantic and prepared to perfection. Our server Lexis was friendly and expedient with our order. I recommend this restaurant.

Went with the girls and only had an appetizer, but our waitress was GREAT! Atmosphere was pretty laid back, they were able to accommodate our wild bunch and the fried pickles were sooooo good!

There's not much of a nightlife in Elizabethtown, and hearing this was a chain was kind of turn off, but ended up having fun here. It always a good sign when you're hanging with the locals. Rolled in around 6pm on a Thursday and grabbed a spot at the bar. The bartender was really cool. The juke box only sucked part of the time, and this place closed at 11pm. In bed early = no hang over. Score!

Went here once with extended family (7 of us). Service was average. Food was okay. Not much to say other than A-OK.

Not good today. Very little sauce on the wings. Charged extra for the blue cheese that was supposed to come with the wings. I reduced my tip because of this. It brought it to their attention but it wasn't corrected. Waitress and cook were showing they don't care about doing a good job. We've eaten here before and had a few minor problems that were corrected but today you could tell that they didn't care.

Meh...the bartenders work hard (and seem like genuinely nice folks), but this place has a generally loud and offensive bunch of mouth-breathing regulars in the bar that never get told to shut the hell up or go the hell home, even when they're totally over the line. (Complete with the weirdo loudmouth who brings his own one litre of Mountain Dew and orders a pitcher of beer at a time). It is not at all unusual to hear racial epithets (and, no, I'm not referring to the "kinder, gentler" ones that it's apparently now ok to joke about **vomits repeatedly**) shouted across the bar area in any given happy hour. I assume the bartenders serve as bouncers (which is unfair - and indicates that they're definitely overworked), but I've never seen anyone asked to leave, despite having to hide in the bathroom to escape from gropey drunken creeps on more than one day. Their regulars need genetic testing. Seriously. And yet this place is billed as a "family restaurant." The food is - meh. Greasy and generally gross bar food. Salt is certainly the only seasoning. But I suppose that's kinda what you're looking for when you drive up. Service is good - they're really trying - to the degree that they take nonsense from people who should be shown the door. If you're gonna bring the kids, make sure you're in a booth and ready to explain overheard words...

Food was good and service was good. Nothing that I could say was over the top. However, I ordered the Big Fish salad and it WAS a BIG fish :) I was definitely full by the time I was done that I actually couldn't finish the whole thing. My other half ordered the Philly Cheese steak. He said it was average. We each ordered the specialty limeade. I had mango and he had strawberry. The limeade definitely has a bite to it but my mango one was disappointing. The strawberry limeade was a good mix. I would consider going back again.

Just okay....decent wings, average service, no diet caffeine-free drinks and the water tasted like it was dipped from a pond. That is important to me because I am alergic to caffeine.

Food was what one can probably expect in a place like this. Nothing special, simply close to eatable. The issue was the service and the wait time. Service close to inattentive, not showing much interest in the customer. And wait time was horrible: 20 minutes for an ice tea from order to delivery, a good hour for a burger and some wings to come out. Can't think of a single reason to go there again.

Great food and sports tv! My favorite is fish! They have a lot of great events like specials for holidays, car shows, and more but that is all I've been a part of.

I tell Ya. I had great service. This was my first time coming here. The bartender really took the time out with me to ensure I knew all the specials. That was so sweet and professional. Her name is Faith. She is really awesome and I can tell she cares about her customers! Great Job Faith.!!!! I will be back!!!

Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
