A wonderful way to spend a summer day is sitting on the porch feeding the ducks. Food is decent bar food but the true shining star is location location location.

For what it is this place is, it's okay. It's a riverside dock and dive. If you're out boating on the river, you can stop to refuel your boat or dock it for a break. Head to the restaurant to use the restrooms, hang out at the bar, or get a bite to eat. No five star dining here, but they do have fairly decent food, including a veggie burger. Since it is a dive, don't expect it to be too clean (hopefully the kitchen is) and, since it's in Kentucky, they allow smoking. Yuck! Would I go out of my way to go here? No. Would I go here again if I were out on the river? Yes.

Riverside is exactly what the pits is. Everything from the service, cleanliness and employee morale is lackluster. If you're not a local or regular the wait time to get served by the bartender is still unknown. I still cannot even pinpoint an ETA for service. I honestly wouldn't waste time here. Head on down to Manhattan Harbor.

We were at the bar. It was not that busy and we couldn't even get a bartender to acknowledge us. Someone came up next to us and they waited on them right away. I really have no desire to waste my money on overpriced beer and bad atmosphere to be ignored. I've worked in the business so I'm an excellent tipper and I know good service. This place has awful service

This place is for the experience and beers ONLY! Experience = being right on the river, watching the riverboat float by, waving at people on boats, drinking beers as the sun sets over the river, and Riverside is far enough from the city it is never packed. Do not come here for the food!!!!!! As many people have already said, the food is terrible, and I hate saying that.. but really how hard is it to fry some onion rings?! Gross.

Meeting family at a place you don't know anything about is always risky, especially when that family is Kentucky through and through. I appreciate the friendly service and easy going atmosphere. Overall that the food was okay, I would say my fish was overcooked, but the drinks were good and that makes up for lots of things.

Wow. That's really all I can say. Without embellishing here is what happened: We wait about 10 minutes to get a server. The server comes from an entirely different section of the restaurant to take us on. We then order drinks and appetizers. About 20 minutes later our appetizer comes out. We ask where are the drinks we ordered? She says they are coming. We at least wanted water on a 90 degree day after boating we were dying so we go up and ask for a cup of water. The waitress then rushes to the bar and makes our drinks herself because she originally forgot to put our drink order in in the first place. All still fine... After having been here for about 40 minutes we all already scarfed the app and between six people and children we were getting desperate at this point. My sister goes up to the waitress and politely just checks on the order. The waitress replies, "oh yeah let me bring over your check." Which then my sister replies, "Um...we still haven't eaten any food??" Completely stunned the waitress then retakes our orders. My sister then says you know what just pack it up to go we have been here for an hour and a half and the kids are falling asleep. We need to get out of here. The order comes out pipping hot because they obviously just forgot the entire order. We are ecstatic Yay! Food! Then the chaos continues. We check through the boxes and realized they forgot two meals, and also gave us the appetizer we had already ordered and eaten already. After being our patience had been completed tested, we paid for our completely incorrect orders and just took what we could and left. After finally tasting the food I thought well after 2 hours of waiting this food better be good at least. Lets just say it was close to inedible. The burger was a frozen patty barely cooked because they were rushing to get our order out. All in all these are facts. I do not want to insert my opinions of this place or this would get really really bad. Avoid this place at all cost especially if you have hungry children, or any taste buds at all.

I've only been once, and I freely admit that it could have been an off night, not indicative of the normal quality of this place. However, I have to report it as I experienced it. I have a slightly higher standard for these river side bars because there are quite a few and I have had a great time at a number of them. There is ample parking, though the lot can be a bit dark at night, so it helps to remember where you parked. The walk to the bar is downhill and somewhat steep, so if you have trouble on inclines, keep this in mind. The layout of the venue itself is well spread out. There are several bars, however, I rarely saw people tending these bars excepting the main bar inside the central building structure. The servers were also hard to track down. I had a very long wait for drinks and food, the same was true for paying at the end of the night. Their draft beer selection was quite limited. They appeared to have a decent liquor selection but I didn't inspect it in detail. They do have some specials on buckets of bottled beer. I didn't try much of the food, but I did order some jalapeno poppers which were, in my opinion, sub par. The peppers themselves tasted more like green peppers, the cheese tasted more like food product than actual food. They also were a bit overcooked. The atmosphere is nice sitting out on the river. They have a few different sections. Some sway and dip more than others. If the water is choppy from wakes or weather, the outermost barge portion gets moving. This can be an issue for people who are sensitive to the swaying motion. They also have live music, though the night I was there, it wasn't all that impressive/inspiring.

It seems that they have expanded their space, but not their kitchen capacity. We went Friday night around 8:00 and were told the kitchen was backed up and it would take at least an hour to get our food. It was a nice evening, so we stayed. Three hours later, we gave up on our food. It is especially ridiculous because I had ordered a salad! I expected them to at least compensate us in some way, like a free drink or something, but that didn't happen. They have a nice space and live music on the weekends. I've been there before and will probably give them another chance, but they are going to lose business if they don't get their kitchen in order.

Decent bar on the river. Threw me off a bit as I did not realize it was on the water (duh) and therefore, moves. I hadn't even bought a drink yet and I was trying to figure out why I felt like I was all shifty in the legs. How do the drunk people deal with the movement? Speaking of which, I would suggest to people to not get really drunk there cause there is no way you're making it up the steep incline up to the parking lot without falling over a few times. And R.J.s. nailed it - we thought we had gone too far and BAM! there it was.

OK I'm just gonna put this out there. I DID NOT EAT HERE nor do I really want to. But what I did do is enjoy a hilarious Friday night out with my friends after an awesome evening on the boat. Now this is not a place to go if you're looking for a date, but it is full of so many interesting characters, it provides amazing people watching on a weekend night. Plus the drink prices are awesome and there is a dance floor (dance at your own risk). Tuesday is trivia night!

Best kept secret on the river. Casual atmosphere. Easy to find. take route 8 east off I-471 just when you think you are lost missed it and gone too far there it is. We have been many times for lunch and for dinner. The service and food is always great. Hoagies, burgers, wings and fries in a basket lets not get crazy here. Priced very reasonably with great friendly service to match. Nice touch the owner always remembers my name with a smile. Perfect for a casual sunset dinner or for a weekend night dinner and music. We'll be back again and again.
