Onion soup was great, Caesar salad was not. Filet was ok. The atmosphere was very nice. I would have rated it better had I been able to take off my coat! It was very very chilly inside!!

Relatively inexpensive but surprisingly good food, with a really great view of the Cincinnati skyline. Good, modern ambiance. Some booths are equipped with TVs, adding a fun twist. They also have ample outdoor patio seating with great views of the skyline and the river as well as a couple fire pits with comfy chairs around. Fried chicken dinner was good, but nothing special. Accompanying green beans were tasty with crispy pancetta, as were the subtly spiced and nicely crisp sweet potato fries. Traditional Kentucky Hot Brown sandwich was forgettable. Also offers a very good breakfast buffet for an exceptional value (if you're staying in the connected Marriott hotel). Wide variety of breakfast food in the buffet as well as made to order waffles and eggs. All food very tasty.

My group of 5 had a lunch reservation for a window table and we were NOT disappointed! The view of Cincinnati was excellent, and I bet beautiful at night! Our waitress was very good and professional. Our food was OK- it took awhile for it to come out of the kitchen but we were served complimentary (what looked like home made) potato "chips" and onion dip that was too good - we ate way too much! Our food was average, my Cobb salad had a lot of chicken on it, some avacado, a little bacon, and a tiny bit of tomato & egg. The blue cheese dressing was more mayo than cheese so I didn't use much - which saved me calories. The decor was upscale and pretty. I would dine here again. Beware that the menu posted on yelp is old; check out the menu under marriott.com/hotels/hote… Make time to walk around to the outside river side of the Marriott to view the beautiful murals! They are HUGE but also SO DETAILED and amazing. To see them online go to robertdaffordmurals.com/…

This review is for a drinks-only experience. We were at the Marriott for a wedding reception, and had some time to kill before the party started so we stopped into 10 West since they had closed the hotel's standalone bar. Other than the view, this place is very unimpressive. The bar had coolers with soda, drink mixes sitting on top of those, sitting next to a TV sitting on the counter... it felt like we were in an 2-star airport hotel bar or something. We ordered 2 martinis, one was the pear martini which was okay, strong with not a lot of the pear flavor- definitely drinkable, definitely NOT worth $12. We also ordered the cucumber martini, which turned out to be about 5 shots of gin with a cucumber floating in it. I couldn't even drink it- my husband ordered a glass of tonic water to make a drink out of it so we didn't end up wasting our money. If you're going to charge $12 for a drink- teach your staff how to make a drink and not just pour liquor into a glass. We were served by 3 different folks, all were friendly enough. Just seemed like they were overwhelmed by the 10 or so people that were there. Meh experience all around.

This restaurant is located within the Marriott hotel and I decided to order room service from the restaurant on a night I just didn't want to venture outside. I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. I have to say, even though it was just a sandwich, I was impressed. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and there was a lot of melted pepper-jack cheese as well. The sweet potato fries were thick cut so you actually got to taste the potato and not just fried blah. I would definitely order from them again.

My husband and I had dinner at 10 West last night. I'll start with the good and then move onto the not-so-good. First, the view of the Ohio river and Cincinnati are very nice from up so high. The decor is trendy and seating is comfortable. My husband and I had the place to ourselves for about 30 minutes, which was especially nice. Our server was quite friendly. My husband ordered the fish tacos and I ordered the 10 West salad with grilled chicken; both were very good. My husband inadvertently left his coat behind, and one of the servers came running to track us down and deliver it; that was very nice of him! Now for the not-so-good. First, despite the fact that our server was friendly, service was too slow. Thankfully we were not in a hurry. Second, desserts are clearly not made on site; I don't mind Sara Lee pound cake and Pepperidge Farm chocolate cake at home, but I certainly don't want to eat it at a restaurant. Time to hire a pastry chef, folks. Third, and finally, I had a Restaurant.com certificate that was clearly marked, "Does not expire," but the host/manager (not sure who he was, as he seated us, but then came back when I asked to speak to a manager) tried to tell us that we could not use it because the restaurant is no longer participating in the program. After a few brief exchanges, he was able to see things my way, but then told me that if I had any additional certificates, I would not be able to use them. It's a good thing for him that I only had one, otherwise he would be seeing things my way multiple times. It's lousy customer service to tell a patron that they cannot use something that they paid for and that does not expire! In summary, keep the good entrees and friendly servers. Speed things up to a reasonable rate, lose the lousy desserts, and train the host/manager in basic customer service skills.

I currently live in Dayton, OH and drove down to Cinci to have dinner with my sister who was in town on business. She was staying in this hotel so we decided to give 10 West a shot. I was certainly not disappointed. The service and views were very good. We received complimentary homemade chips and French onion dip that were REALLY good. We had the spring rolls for an appetizer, they were really good. For dinner we both had sandwiches. I had the Club which was good but could have used a little more flavor. My sister had the Chicken Rubin, which I tried, and really liked. All-in-all I'd totally eat here again if I am ever in the neighborhood.

We went here for our 4th anniversary and were completely satisfied. The service was great, the view stunning and the food was American but delightful. They really made the night feel special with free champagne and desert. Entree prices were reasonable. Must try the spring rolls... amazing. My filet ($34) was perfect and my husband has a MASSIVE rack of ribs that were delicious ($19).

This restaurant is located inside the Marriott Cincinnati RiverCenter hotel. Great food and great views of the Ohio River.

Definitely meh. I accidentally had to eat here because I found a Yelp review for the restaurant that used to be in this location. It was late and I already paid for parking. The view, yeah, it's very nice. But not worth it unless you are just going for a drink (pretty weak drinks though). I got French onion soup which was ridiculously salty and way over bready inside- it absorbed all the broth. For my main I got Chicken with ziti (though they don't call it ziti) plus spinach, asparagus, and peas.. I can't look it up because the menu on the website is outdated. The chicken was diced and it consisted of all the bits of the outside of a chicken breast that you don't want, plus it was dry. The vegetables were diced into tiny, difficult to handle pieces and were super smokey for some reason. Bleh. I left really unsatisfied even though I ate till I was full, and had to go get a gelato from the Italian place on Main St. to salvage the night.

Other than an April Fool's post on McDonald's, we don't really do chains here at Amateur Foodies. We're big on local. So it is with mixed feelings that we'll put up this short post on 10 West, the hotel restaurant of the Marriot in Covington. And yes, Orchids at Palm Court is a hotel restaurant, but somehow the non-hotel branding plus the fact that it's amazingly good (post from a recent visit coming soon!) make me not feel so bad about posting it. This one was a trip with Sarah and friends only, so let me publicly state my ghostwriter status now. The Food: They have a regular menu, but they also have a buffet for $14.95 - they'll make you omelettes, waffles, or fried eggs on the spot as part of that buffet. The buffet also comes with coffee, and they made us a carafe of ice coffee at no additional cost. All the basic hotel options exist, plus lox and cream cheese, lots of meats, different styles of scrambled eggs, pancakes, strawberry fruit smoothies, muffins, danish, and more. On the extensive side for a typical buffet, but still typical. As for the taste? Definitely better than what you'd expect for a Marriott - fresh fried eggs add a nice touch, and in general we walked away happy. The Ingredients: Nothing here about local or organic ingredients. The Story, Setting, & Service: The reason to go to 10 West is very simple. It has a stunning view of Cincinnati. And, with a Restaurant.com coupon, because you can go for a ridiculously low price. Right now they have a deal on $25 gift certificates that cost only $2. That's just wrong. Service was good and attentive - not too many other people there to worry about, so we were a priority. 10 West won't make it into our list of regular spots, but it's a bit of a bummer how few restaurants in Cincinnati take advantage of our awesome skyline. As a result, just about anywhere with sustenance plus view equals somewhere we might go, especially with guests in town or something - maybe just for a quick drink. If you enjoyed this review, there's more at Amateur Foodies.

Nice business atmosphere. The menu changes pretty regularly. It's a good place to get a nice dinner if you're staying at one of the nearby hotels, but plan on moderately slow service.

Very nice view of the Ohio river and downtown Cincinnati. I had their ribs much better than Montgomery Inn, my friend had Rigatoni Bolognese also was great! Service was attentive.
