Saw a commercial for this quaint bakery cafÄ— while visiting family who live in the area, and decided when the guys were with us we would stop in for lunch. Being a bakery cafÄ— it only made sense to see the glass counter filled with cupcakes and cakes of various flavors. Displayed around are a few replicated wedding cakes which leads you to realize you can order wedding cakes here. As the sign indicated when we walked in, we seated ourselves. Usually, when you walk into a bakery cafÄ— you can smell the wafting scent of pastries baking. Sadly, the smell that greeted us, and lingered the entire time we were there, was that of a cleaning agent. Our waitress was friendly and the service was pretty quick. We ordered the lunch specials ~ soup and half a sandwich. I had the potato soup and chicken salad. If you love cheese you would enjoy this particular soup, however I am not a fan of my potato soup tasting like cheese soup. I did like the fact they sliced the potatoes for the soup vs cubing them. I was disappointed in the half chicken salad sandwich. One piece of the bread was semi soft while the other was hard which led me to believe the bread bag had been left open. When I showed our waitress how hard my bread was by tapping a finger nail on the bread she didn't hesitate to take it away and bring me a new sandwich. Whomever made my half sandwich clearly had to know the bread was hard and it should never have been served! The chicken salad sandwich was nothing to remember. Our waitress said it was, "the most requested sandwich on the menu". Hmmm. There was no lettuce, no tomato, no crunch of celery, no real taste of anything special. It was simply stringy chicken with mayonnaise. So disappointing. With sandwiches served on dry hard bread we had to question the freshness of the pastries, wedding cakes etc. We decided not to chance it and opted for milkshakes at another establishment.

Had lunch here today it was good, but service was a bit unorganized. I was served quickly, but table next to me was overlooked. Customer had to go ask for help at the counter. I'm sure they will get better with experience. As for the food... I had a fajita salad with lime vinegerette dressing. It was good, not exceptional, but I would order it again. As I was good and had a salad I visited the bakery case.. oh my. I had a sunrise raisin muffin it was great. I should probably write two reviews so I can give the muffin 5 stars and the salad 4, but I'm too lazy after the carbs!! Come for the bakery case and have lunch too!!

I didn't eat lunch here, but since I'm a bit of a cupcake connoisseur I did have a pumpkin cream cheese cupcake and it was moist and delicious. The service was quick and friendly as well. I would definitely go back and try the other treats. Update-recently tried the strawberry cupcake with pieces of strawberries and it was delicious as well.

This is a review for wedding catering... The food was great.. but... they only get an extra star for that. The service was very expensive ($15/hr per server + 20% of total food costs..), and was definitely subpar. They had children serving at my wedding (literally children, like 11 or 12 years old.. with super sullen faces.). To top it off, they didn't put out any of the wines or other drinks they were supposed to, and didn't even cut the cake or pie to serve! A huge price for poor service and ending up cutting up wedding cake for people yourself... They were also supposed to bus tables and take off table decorations at the end of the night and did not do that either. When contacting the manager about it all, they said it was a "miscommunication" despite both myself and my husband very clearly communicating to them several times the day before the wedding where the drinks would be stored (in the kitchen.. in the fridge.. duh.. yet they "couldn't find them"). To add some extra tackiness-- despite the tip already being paid (20% on nearly $2K in food.. do that math..) they set up a tip jar on my open bar... that they weren't even serving!! The beer and wine all ended up being self-serve.. yet they wanted more tip! Insanity! Definitely a disappointing response from management on all the issues. I'd get the food for catering, but definitely DO NOT have them do the catering unless you like to throw away money for services they won't actually provide.

Dafnel and her team at Sweet Temptations just catered my daughter's wedding at Lost River Cave. The food was delicious, the staging was beautiful and the cake was not only gorgeous but also delicious! The service was also excellent. If you're looking for a caterer for your wedding or event -- or just looking for good food and great pastries -- make sure you check out Sweet temptations!
