Server was hopping! She was working numerous tables and keeping the orders moving smoothly. As she worked, she bussed. Really, she upped this a star. Menu is diverse with options for the critter avoiding of your party. Food was on par with any cafe; however, it was hot! The flavors were well balanced without being palate challenging. The chips that came with the sandwich were ruffles knock offs that were well beneath what a touristy kitsch-fest should be serving. Go with bagged kettle chips that you warm under the broiler if you are desperate, but the really great sandwiches need a better supporting cast. I had a lovely little cookie to top it off that was a lovely chewy peanut butter cookie that was perfect. Not super sweet, just a really good cookie made with real stuff. Two stars deducted for lack of palate challenging (though it would be detrimental to sales to the locals) and the chip selection (though I could have upped to fries for 99 cents). Addition of star for above average service and I know I look like hell today, so it must be how she is with everyone.

My very first time trying Main Street I had the pepper jack burger and it was tasty ! Besides the long wait and the food being a bit over priced . I still would suggest their burgers to anyone looking to have fresh , hand pattied angus beef because they won't let you down .

I have gone to this restaurants multiple times and I keep coming back to hope that I order something better. However, every time I go I'm disappointed. The prices are pretty high for the taste and the service! The last time I stopped by I never once got a refill for my drink after finishing it in about 15 minutes. The waitress was nice, but I suggest she pay a little more attention to her customers needs.

Main Street Cafe is a decent place located in the Berea College Square. They have great salads and filling subs - all fresh and local. The customer service is welcoming and courteous. But the environment seemed a little unwelcoming to me, perhaps because of the dark lighting. But the food is absolutely delicious.

I come here often for a quick lunch. The food is always great, and my "usual" is the Club Wrap with sweet potato fries. They are easily the best sweet potato fries I've ever had! The servers are friendly and helpful, and I love the ambiance. You can come with friends or you can enjoy a meal by yourself because the atmosphere is that comforting. The only thing that may be concerning to newcomers: You seat yourself and wait for the server to bring your menu. Depending on how busy they are, it may take a few minutes or it may be instantaneous. But don't be discouraged! The food is worth it!

I've had amazing service here and they have a great bacon wrap which is crazy for me to say since I don't like cold foods. I just think they could do a bit more with their decor.

The food at mainstream cafe was absolutely delicious, and the service was very well received. The waitress was courteous and pleasant during each encounter, and was accommodating to my needs as a consumer. The atmosphere was kind of dull in my opinion, the room wasn't lit very well. Other than that I would suggest the restaurant to my friends based on the food and service.

Stopped in on a Saturday night and only one other couple was there. We had a party of 9 people. The waiter was pleasant but clearly inexperienced and disorganized. He disappeared halfway through taking orders. He didn't take orders until we had sat for maybe 20 mins (we were on a time restriction so this was not helpful). Once food did arrive it was mediocre and overpriced. It's a pleasant café in the heart of Berea and could be terrific, but both service and food must improve.

Great example of how a restaurant can be successful by using fresh ingredients and putting a twist on standard dishes. It's menu reminds me of Jonathan's lunch menu in Lexington which I find myself missing. Deserts are huge and surprising. Good choices for vegetarians or meatatarians.

A mediocre meal, poor value-for-money, lengthy service and poor hygiene. I popped into the Main Street Cafe for a quick lunch today at about 11:00. Visually the place looks as if it's attempting to be a hip bistro, though the cake display case looks like something from a hospital cafeteria (racks covered in old cling film, plates likewise covered with cling film, with filthy glass and metal surfaces that clearly haven't been cleaned in weeks). A glance at the menu reinforces that "bistro" attitude, with things like goat cheese burgers and the like...and prices to match. The menu itself is sticky with God knows what. I'm the only table here, but it still takes a few minutes before my server comes over. My server appears disheveled and is a bit loud, trying a bit too hard to give off the appearance of friendliness. I order a cup of hot tea and she brings out a cup of hot water and several different tea bags, though no sugar or milk is anywhere to be found. She reads off the soups of the day and emphasizes emphatically that the chili does indeed contain meat (though I'd not asked her about this nor expressed anything that would suggest I'm a vegetarian, which made this seem as if I should feel guilty for eating meat). I order the Reuben with onion rings, and wait. And wait. And wait some more. The server comes by and let's me know it's because "they're just now opening," though it's 11:20ish at this point. 30 minutes after I'd ordered, my food arrives. It looks good on the plate, with marble rye for the bread and nice golden onion rings, an average size portion of each. I bite into an onion ring and it's nice and crispy, but bland. They have a hint of smoky charcoal flavor, indicating the oil in which they'd been cooked is old and dark and full of burned bits of food and long overdue for a change. They're also obviously not homemade: they're identical to the onion rings you'd get at any chain restaurant like Applebee's, likely bought in from a food supply company. They're not bad with some catsup. While I'm eating, the server comes by no fewer than 3 times in a 15-minute window to ask how I'm getting on. Bugger off already; I'm the same as I was the last 2 times, thanks. While I'm eating, various employees behind the counter have a loud conversation about local politics. Not exactly the bistro atmosphere the decor and the John Mayer music is giving the impression of. The Reuben is disappointing, especially when you consider they took 30 minutes to make it for their only customer. It's appallingly dry. I don't know how anything smothered in sauerkraut and thousand Island dressing and cheese can be so dry. Nothing about it seems freshly-made. The corned beef is clearly many days past its slicing date, with a consistency of week-old Thanksgiving turkey. The bread feels like sandpaper in my mouth. It's edible, but definitely nothing better than what you'd make at home from leftovers. In fact, that's exactly what it feels like: eating leftovers. And that would be fine, except I'm paying bistro prices. With the lowest gratuity their POS system lets you select automatically (18%), my check comes out to $12.34 (which you can't find out until you go to the counter to pay; your cost is not written on the check). And that's with my student discount knocking off $1.07. Looking back into the food preparation area from the POS counter shows dirty surfaces everywhere, from walls and doors to refrigerators and food prep areas. I could understand this at the end of a shift, but not when I'm the only customer you've had. Literally anywhere else in Berea is a better value-for-money, and literally anywhere in Berea that isn't fast food has a higher quality of food. Disappointing in every way.

The Main Street cafe is in a great location right in College Square, and the restaurant is clean and homey. Really the only bad thing I can say about it is that it was freezing in there! Other than that, our waitress was attentive and friendly. I got a felafel wrap with pasta salad as my side, and both were quite tasty. The price was pretty reasonable. I will be sure to visit again!

On a busy day I end up at Main Street Cafe to grab some quick lunch. The food here is always good but there price tag is high for a college student like me. However, I do not minds paying because Main Street serves as a change in my taste buds. I usually order between the burgers or the chicken wraps. My personal favorite is the Falafel Burger. I have heard some bad things about their salad but every time I walk in to this diner I see improvement. The servers are friendly and service is ok, but if you come here during busy lunch hours you have to be patient. I do not mind this because I can catch up on some work using their free Wi-Fi, which is always beneficial for a college student.

Main Street Cafe has a nice atmosphere. However, I am not extremely impressed with the meals I have received. The hamburger was not seasoned well enough and the bread did not satisfy. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I decided to get another meal. A Chicken Wrap. The presentation and delivery was nice. Yet, I did not taste any flavor in the chicken. I did have a blueberry scone, however. And it was delicious. I think the best the restaurant has going for them are the fries, mozzarella sticks.

Love this place. Food is consistently good and nice quality. Lots of variety and good options for vegetarians, too. The service is a little slow but that's usually because it is busy and food it cooked to order. A nice place for a leisurely lunch.

Delicious quiche and fairly good salads (couldn't they pick out the stems?!) The reason I say "odd duck" though, is because my sister asked for milk and they told her they only have soy. Who doesn't carry milk?

A fairly large place, which was empty expect for 2 other tables on a Saturday night and that should have of been my sign to walk back out. The picture of the chicken I posted looks yummy and the flavor wasn't bad, but it was kinda tough. The onion rings were fine, but nothing amazing. My sister got a salad, which was a great size for the price and she really liked the ranch dressing. The main reason I docked it stars was because of the service. Our waitress was pleasant, but when I have to go find someone to get more dressing and water, because you wandered off who knows where I automatically dock at least a star. Had we not had issues with the service I would probably give it 3 1/2 stars.

I really enjoyed my time at the Main Street Café. The staff members were extremely nice and agile with my requests. They were very attentive to the customers' needs. The food was delivered fast and it was well cooked. Usually, I go there with my friends. The Café has free Wi-Fi which brings many benefits, especially for college students.

We had the big burger and the goat cheese burger-- both were great! The goat cheese was a bit overpowering, but that's a lot better than there not being enough. The fried green tomatoes were good, and I ended up keeping the chipotle mayo to dip the sweet potato fries in-- delicious! Great prices and friendly service means we'll be back again.

I was brought to the cafe because I wanted to see the live music. I expected to order drinks and maybe an appetizer. We sat for 45 minutes with no one offering to wait on us at all. Couldn't even flag anybody down. None of the servers looked our way. I finally sent our daughter in side to order sweet tea for the three of us. And to no surprise, I had to go in search of my own refill. I probably won't recommend this place to others.

The food was too pricey for me. I had Asian salad and had to pay $8.79 for it. The salad wasn't so special, except for some mandarin. The grilled chicken in the salad was good though, very tasty. The best thing was the service, she was so nice that she came to us several times to check if we were doing okay.

I visited the Main Street Café and got the locally renowned Goat Cheese Burger with a side of fries. My fries were crispy and well salted, as usual. I added a little bit of mayonnaise and thoroughly enjoyed every bite of my burger. I really love the element that the Goat Cheese adds to the burger and, for that reason, I regularly get it.

I' ve been here several times and they have THE BEST burgers ever!!!! I've had several foods from their menu such as different salads, burgers, and wraps and they all have been amazing. They also give a 10% student discount for College students which is great. Their service can be a bit slow since everything is made fresh, but other than that I love this place. If you are ever in Berea and want to eat good quality food, Main Street Cafe is the place to go.

Being a broke college student, I wasn't very impressed with the prices, but the food quickly changed my mind. I ordered a burger with bacon on it. I had never had a bacon cheeseburger before, and I loved it! I knew I couldn't eat the whole thing, so my roommate and I asked the waiter if we could share the order. She cut the burger, the chips, and the salad in half and gave it to us! She was extremely friendly and helpful. I left the cafe knowing my money was well spent. I must admit however, the homemade chips weren't that great.

A Saturday evening of music, and enjoying desserts at Main Street Café, conveniently located in the college square by the Boone Tavern Hotel. Dessert choices include irresistible blueberry pie, humming bird cake, Godiva Cheese cake or Vanilla Ice cream .

We stopped for lunch here. The croissant for my sandwich was stale and the house special homemade chips were bland. We had to flag down the server to get coffee and soda refills. It took almost 10 minutes for her to bring the check after having to be asked twice to bring it.

The food is pretty good and prices are very reasonable. They can be a bit slow getting your food though. I waited 45 minutes for my greek chicken wrap.

We stopped here while on our way south. The menu is huge; almost too big. They were out of curry, which was a disappointment. Both boys got burgers, which were good. I got a chicken sandwich and the wife had crab cakes. There was entertainment while we were eating and the restaurant filled up by the time we were leaving. Overall, it was a nice dining experience with good food.

This place offers some pretty good unique food. Me and my colleagues ordered chicken, bacon and beef wraps with a salad from them. The wraps were delicious and it was very fresh tasting. The food also is presented well. After ordering food from this place and getting a taste of there deliciousness I will definitely stop in the actual restaurant for another great meal!

Worst food that I have ever had. Service was good, but food was over cooked and not fit to eat. Food so bad that after I left Main Street that I went to McDonald's for a burger. Service was good. Appears to be a kitchen problem.

I order a Boone Burger which was a burger with smoked onions and other smoked items. I was surprised at the size of the burger I got which made the $8 price tag not seem as steep. I also ordered a water and though they bring the food out. They don't come to the tables to refill your drinks. Which is not a big deal but seemed like they would because of the the atmosphere. All and all a really good place to go and eat.

First, I would like to say the pictures displayed below are not a proper representation of the food and atmosphere this restaurant conveys. Sometimes the waitresses are a little lengthy on refills on your drinks, but the food is delicious and divine. The prices isn't that expensive and the atmosphere is nothing short of friendly. I order something different there every time and the variety never gets boring.

I suggested this place for my family when they were in town. We walked in and saw that it has a nice set up. It was very colorful and neat things are all over the wall. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was good. I wasn't such a fan of the potato chips.

Great service and delicious chicken salad sandwiches. There's a beautiful patio out back where customers can sit outside and enjoy their meals. Located in a great area, right next to a coffee shop and a fudge shop where desert can be found. A nice place to eat at in Berea when looking for a variety.

the first time I went there, the service was great, the waitresses were quick and polite. however, my second experience, the waitresses did try to remain positive but the food was cold and the chips burnt. I also admit that I was there 20 mins before closing but fresh food should always be on the list until the last minute of work. Better job next time

I had just got out of class for a quick break and my friend and I were looking for a place to eat. We decided to stop at this place and check out the menu. I had a ciabatta chicken sandwich with some of their home-made chips. The atmosphere in the place was really nice and the service was very inviting. The seating area was also spacious and cool considering it was a hot summer day.

Had a quick bite here while driving from Atlanta to Cleveland. Wonderfully little niche spot that has a great small town atmosphere and a quality set of food items. The selection of meat and vegetarian items on the menu is easily equal if not more vegetarian options. Portabella mushroom burger was a dream and the goat cheese spinach wrap hit the ideal spot. Perfect of an afternoon lunch.
