The food was awesome, cheap, and huge servings. I went with my whole extended family, about 10 of us and we had great service. I would recommend although I was told that evening are a huge wait to get in.

Cheddars is probably the best food with the best value for your money in Ashland,KY. The portions are large and very tasty. We usually have enough left overs for the next day's lunch.I think the bread should be included with the entree, not an extra charge! I realize not everyone wants bread, but it should be given as as option! Just Saying! You will find Cheddars a busy happening place----go early or you will have a wait! Most of the time the wait staff is helpful and pleasant, but be prepared for it if they aren't. The staff would benefit with PR training for their customers.

Cheddars seems to do a good job with small parties, but it cannot handle large groups. First, they don't have tables large enough for a group of 8-10 people and always try to convince people to sit at separate tables instead of pushing tables together. If we wanted to sit separately, we wouldn't have gone out to eat together! The kitchen cannot seem to time meal delivery for large groups. Half of our food was cold while some was hot. We sent the onion rings (appetizer) back because they were so cold. Instead of providing us with a new order of onion rings, our onion rings were re-fried. They were a nasty mess! Another reviewer mentioned that the kitchen cannot cook steaks correctly, and that is true. I ordered my steak "medium" and it was cooked completely through (no pink) and served cold. I sent it back and received a perfect steak. This makes me think that the kitchen staff isn't skilled enough to coordinate meals for groups. The waiter never apologized for our issues and a manager never visited us. If your party has no more than 3 or 4 people, then Cheddars is a good option. For larger parties, I suggest going elsewhere.

Love this place! It's is definitely one of my favorite places to eat. The chicken fingers here are out of this world. Also, the honey mustard grilled chicken can't be beat. Everything here from the fruit teas to the french fries are absolutely great. The servers and staff here are extremely friendly, courteous, and kind. They always go out of their way to help you. There is not one thing wrong about this place, from the building, to the staff, to the food. TWO THUMBS UP!

Food is always consistent, great prices for the portion you receive. A little crowded specificaly on Friday and Saturday. Quick service, hot food, nice atmosphere.

Best food in Ashland, KY. The have a wide variety. The chicken tenders are the best that I have ever eaten. Be prepared to wait during the usual busy hours.

Service was very attentive. Food was much better than expected. Onion rings were crunchy (not bready), hot, and fresh. I got a buffalo chicken wrap. The chicken was good, not too spicy. It was almost a double portion. For a side I got the broccoli cheese casserole. It was mostly cheese sauce with a few bits of broccoli. I would get a different side. Expected some Applebee's low end food but got some decent fast casual grub.

I've never had a poor experience. The food isn't blow-you-out-of-the-water good, but it is amazing for the price. We have been going here for a few years from Huntington, and we will continue. It is several steps above Applebee's. The steak is really great for a chain restaurant. The aged angus is fantastic. Only once have I had a less-than-optimal cut. If they don't cook it properly, they will go out of their way to make sure you leave happy.

Good Prices. Decent food, large portions. Has a small bar inside with a good amount of TVs for Sports.

Excellent food, inexpensive prices & great service. How can you beat that combination???

The food is great and the prices reasonable. If you are in a group of more than 6, don't expect to sit together. There are only 2 tables big enough for 8, so if you are in a group you will have to be separated. Can't understand why a restaurant this spacious wouldn't be a little more accommodating for groups.

So, all the negative reviews of Cheddars were filtered out. But, after reading them and comparing to my experience, I'd have to agree with them. We wanted a family place to take my entire clan for dinner Saturday night. There were 12 people -- 8 adults and 4 kids. We waited an hour to be seated (understandable for a busy Saturday night and our large group). From the moment we were called to the hostess stand forward, it was a comedy (well, not that funny) of error after error. To start, we were not seated together. We were seated at two booths back-to-back. As we approached the booth, we were held in the middle of a busy aisle as they had not finished clearing the table from the last party. In fact, it appeared that they'd barely started. Several times we were bumped and excused as we stood there for 3 solid minutes waiting for the table to be cleared. Upon sitting down, it just got worse. The waitress was scatterbrained. She forgot the kids drinks for nearly 10 minutes. She disappeared for LONG stretches as drinks were going empty. The appetizers were finished when she stopped by to say she was going to tell them to start the salads. We weren't even at the mains, yet. By the time the mains came, steaks were overcooked. My brother, who asked for medium, got a piece of shoe leather disguised as a steak. My sister-in-law also got a piece of shoe leather, but she probably asked for well done. Even for well done, it was overcooked and tough. Both were inedible. My meal was good -- I had chicken fried chicken, but inexplicably, they ran out of mashed potatoes at 8 on a Saturday. My mashers were missing. Only after I inquired, did I find out they didn't have any and needed to select a substitution. Those were some of the most egregious problems. I was led to believe the place was family friendly, but I wouldn't take my family there. The waitress never felt attentive even talking to us several times while passing by and not even slowing down. It was a dreadful experience and I would advise anyone to steer clear on a busy night.

Food was good however none of our steaks were cooked to order, luckily I ordered mine well done which worked out because I got mine medium which is what I wanted. The other two steaks were dramatically over and under done even though they were both ordered medium. Chicken strips were great even though I never got the BBQ sauce. The sides were the best part!!!! Especially if you are craving comfort food.

Great food. Great, friendly, smiling hostess. Server's backup was pleasant and ready to further assist. Terrell, our server, however left lots to be desired. Uninterested, curt & snippy and kept checking his watch. Should have left his attitude at home and grabbed a pleasant personality before coming to work.

I like this place, and never had a bad experience here. I see people giving bad reviews on here. Maybe some are just hard to please.

First and last time at a Cheddars. (I don't do chains by rule, but this was a group decision.) Wasn't too hungry, so ordered a soup and onion rings. I can't even remember the soup, because the night was dominated by the onion rings - a tower of about 20 of them. Nowhere did it say that the appetizer was enough for 4 people. Now, usually, I'm a huge fan of providing way too much food for the money, but these were not good onion rings. The "breading" was limp and soggy, with no color, and it was abundantly clear that these are the frozen variety, sitting in the back for weeks until some poor sap orders them. I'd rather have just eaten the onion. You will say, one appetizer isn't enough to judge a place, and you're right. But other people ordered other dishes. This is basically another Applebee's type restaurant, and so 2-3 stars is really all I'm going to give for that. I could also point to the pitiful beer selection - although one does not usually come to a place like this for beer. What bugs me, though, is the number of 4 and 5 star reviews. Is this really the best place Ashland has to offer? Fat Patty's was certainly better, and that's the only other place I've even tried.
