I love this place. It's not without it's quarks, but I just love the vibe. Solid selection of beers and a full bar. Great coffees. Forget the food. They have snacks, but I just pass. Unless it's the occasional muffin in the morning.

I love any where that will serve a good cup of coffee or hot tea AND offers a full bar. Is is it a bar? Is it a coffee shop? I guess that all depends on what you order. I always wish more coffee places sold drinks and vice versa so you could truly post up at one place all day and have the libations you need. We came here around 11 in the morning to work for a while in the comfy booths with free WiFi. We were able to work without interruption for a few hours, and we got a couple of refills while we were at it. It was the perfect answer to being a little burned out on straight up coffee shops. I loved the vibe. The guy running the bar seemed owner-ish - let me put it this way: if he is not the owner, the owner should be very thankful to have this guy manning the ship. He took good care of us, checking on us a few times. The music was great; I'm not sure if it was their own mix or some internet deal, but they played two different tracks off the Modest Mouse record that had been released only the day before, so I was clearly in love.

Small selection of craft beers and domestics, plus a full bar. VERY limited food, but you can get Picassos pizza across the street and bring it here to eat. This is primarily a watering hole with free Wifi. Like an internet cafe for drunks. LOL Several neo-hippies and hipsters drop in. It's a mixed crowd. I like it. I've always had good service, but if the bartenders are out smoking I go out and get them... waiting for drinks is not a game I play! ;-)

I can't believe I've been putting up with the insane crowds of Mead's Corner for the past three years, not realizing that there's a place a mile down the road that not only excels at coffee, but serves beer, too. Vagabond is a sister establishment to John Barleycorn's, but aside from that factoid I couldn't find anything interesting to stem from that connection. Does ordering a beer with a coffee make me an alcoholic? These are the hard questions I go to the Vagabond to avoid answering. As a result, I get to sit out on the tiny patio, read my book without getting bothered by a bunch of church groups, and generally enjoy my afternoon.

Bartender was drunk off her ass and couldn't make a simple coffee order correctly. Stared blankly at us for a bit before slurring "What did you want again?" Also, they are always out of their listed food items like hummus and everything bagels. We used to like coming here but haven't had any luck recently. Probably won't be returning.

This place is woefully mis-categorized. Wine bars DO NOT serve wine from boxes. Really, what else do you need to know? Still, the bartender was nice, the music was great, and they had a lot of fun board games. The clientele were kinda rough. Not that bad, but I went in expecting "wine bar" and I got "box wine dive". I don't hate it, but I doubt I'll go back.

Generous wine pours combined with a lofty selection of Kansas Craft Beers (Tallgrass Brewing Company anyone?) and a smattering of local artists' work means the Vagabond is still Wichita's hipster haven. It also means you can get drunk, good conversation and a little saucy for cheap.

Oh, the Vag! When a friend loses her car keys, the quick coffee after work can so easily slide into a drink or two to pass the time to LOTS of drinks to utter, utter mayhem. All before 11 pm. And they had the keys the next day.

I can blame this place for my 3rd pregnancy. It was the damn martini's. Soooo delicious and so generously laden with booze. Dirty, dirty, extra dirty martini so overful that there was a generous glass on the side with the rest of the first martini served all at once. People break out board games here and chill. Feels homey. Makes me happy to be there.

This place is great for coffee - they know their latte's and espresso. The wifi is fast and it's generally quiet- if you are a student you can study there. They are open from 7am to 2am, so it's nice to be able to drop in whenever. Drawbacks: Biker's, Alcoholics, Smokers, Low-life's and meth-heads from the local neighborhood. If you don't mind the retro-cafe/sport-bar feeling, then it's an ok place. My #1 complaint is that I am not a smoker, and they leave the front door wide open so that the smoke from the smokers outside comes drifting in. I'm not a big fan of smoking other people's cigarettes. I've even asked the bartenders to close the front door so I don't have to breath the smoke - but most of the bartenders are smokers too. The only redeeming factor here compared to going to the library is that I can drink a latte at the same time as doing my work or getting on the net. But when the smoke starts billowing in the front door, I leave.

Went here for the 1st time in my life a couple of weeks ago. This is about has hipster as Wichita can get. Books and board games on the wall for people to play. Quite atmosphere, place you go to with some old friends to hang out and remember the good times.

Stopped by and found it to be a very relaxing place. It had several students using the WiFi and studing. They have the full bar so if in the mood, or a couple of drinks and it can change your mood. There are a couple tables outside also for nice days like today. Ordered a coffee today and wasn't impressed with it, didn't taste fresh but it was 4pm. I liked the place and will stop by again to relax and connect.

Classic coffee shop and bar, very much like my favorite Lawrence spots. In fact, I think it was modeled after the Bourgeois Pig in Lawrence. I enjoy the cozy atmosphere (no longer as smoky as it used to be!), although it can be hard to find seating sometimes. The selection is good for the coffee, better for the bar. Good for a first date, conversation with friends, or just a quick drink out on the patio (in the summer). They have a great radio feed through XM Radio, which gives the place a funky retro vibe which I enjoy. The people who frequent the place are pretty interesting and fun as well. I often see students studying or people playing chess or cards on any given night. Parking can be an issue, but that's nothing new in the 'Ta. Definitely check it out!

A pretty laid back cafe. With a Full Service Bar. Lot of Local Art up which i like. Seems a lot of Students come to study and such. I have visted this place a handful of times & always get the Chocolate Martini! Used to work down the street so my co-workers and I would go and relax after a long day at work! Quiet and simple place...

Atmosphere refreshing for Wichita. Very heart of Dorchester on a winter night kind of feeling. Bartender was unfriendly and hurried. I came in an hour before close so it is likely I was slowing down his closing process. Good IPA on tap called Tallgrass.

I love Vagabond, it has a full coffee menu as well as fully stocked bar. I do wish they served more food however. But the hummus is yummy, although not enough and it comes from N and J's... which is fab. And they recently have given themselves a face lift complete with new booths/tables and even smoke eaters. Before I would refrain from going there too much because it was indeed too smoky... but they have since fixed this problem. My oldest two love, love, LOVE their chai and will actually walk to get it!

This place is suffering from identity crisis. It's a full fledged bar that tries to act like a full fledged cafe. The mix usually doesn't work too well, bar crowds are rowdy, people frequenting cafes are rather sophisticated :) at least I like to think that way, cause I love hanging out at the cafes. So, on my two visits here, I had different kinds of lattes and biscotti. Latte was very bitter for some strange reason. The little lamps on the tables are kinda cool though.
