Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Love this place. Have eaten here for years, same friendly staff. Not sure why this restaurant doesn't come up when I search for Chinese buffet on yelp? Anyways, give it a try, huge selection fair pricing.

Good food at a good price and the staff are friendly. If you like Chinese food try this out. I enjoyed it.

It was alright, got there at 8pm. Food was old, not a big selection. Nice & friendly service, which u don't get a lot in an Asian restaurant.

Not bad. Restaurant needs a deep clean. Decent selection, nothing particularly noteworthy.

we went 12-31-13 and it was in the early afternoon , have been there before but it was odd! the waitress acted as if we had done something to her and was rude , we did not know why she acted this way. the food was good , but it was very quiet except for an upset kiddo! but my wife talked to them and the parents were glad , as we paid the manager know we tipped and complained about how a lot of people do not! the whole dinner was not what I would call a holiday!

I try to eat at non-buffets if I can, but sometimes I give in. Shanghai is a nice Chinese buffet. It is nothing fancy, but the restaurant always appears clean and kept up. Like all buffets, it is best to eat there when it is busy so the food is constantly fresh. Also, I would suggest going here for lunch, because the price increases substantially for dinner. They have all of the usual Chinese buffet dishes, a salad bar, and small dessert selection. Overall, it is not a huge buffet, but a nice selection is offered. If you're searching for a Chinese buffet, this is one of, if not the best in Wichita.

As far as Asian buffets go, this is now at the top of my list. Part of the reason that this place surprised me is where it is located. For the most part, the area around St. Joseph hospital, leaves something to be desired as far as food is concerned. I see this place as a jewel amongst the rubble and it doesn't hurt that the staff is extremely nice. The buffet is on the small size, but it appears they take great effort in making sure everything that they put on the buffet is of a higher quality. The coconut shrimp is soooo good. The place is clean and simple in it's decor. It is not trying too hard to disguise itself as something it is not. It is simple place that is quiet and unassuming with pretty decent food.

Met my Daughter here for lunch yesterday. I had been wanting to try this place for about a year. I read all of the 'Yelp' reviews and was happy to read that their Buffet included a Salad Bar (which I LOVE). When I arrived there, I was happy to find that their was ample parking. The Restaurant was nicely decorated and very clean. The Buffet prices were reasonable, add an Iced Tea and you will spend about $10.00 plus Tip -- which considering a Fast Food lunch is @ $8 to $9 bucks sounds reasonable to me. What made me HAPPY was the Salad Bar with Fresh Melon and some Fresh Veggies and it had Cottage Cheese too. There were TWO of the ASIAN soups -- Egg Flower and Hot & Sour -- YUM!! There was actually a much bigger variety of choices than I expected. There were many Appetizers -- like Egg Rolls, Dumplings, Crab Ragoon, Teriyaki Skewers and more. I didn't want to fill up on Appetizers though. -- so I grabbed 1 Crab Ragoon. After having my salad and melon -- I took about 6 small samples of various varieties of mainly Chicken Entrees & 1 Beef with Broccoli. And everything was nicely prepared. The Beef with Broccoli had lots of Broccoli -- the Cashew Chicken had lots of Celery -- The General Tso's Chicken was tasty -- my problem is that my own personal preference is SPICY food. It was quite good, but nothing was what i consider SPICY. I want to add that their Iced Tea was very nice. In hindsight, I am sure I could have requested some Sriracha Hot Sauce or something similar. I will definately return :)

I have visited Shang Hai numerous of times over my twenty one years of life and I have loved each and every time. The food is always fresh and plentiful. The selections are the same, but I prefer the same selections that are fresh and good than many new selections that are bad. The owners are very nice people as well.

I usually don't rave about Chinese buffets. But Shanghai is one of the best Chinese buffets I've ever been to in my life. The orange chicken is an authentic dull yellow. The way it should look. And not florescent orange. It's not just one big, cloying, sickeningly sweet, sticky mass. You actually can taste real orange flavor in the recipe as you would if you had made it at home. That goes for the General Tso's Chicken as well. The beef in the Pepper Beef and Beef and Broccoli looks like real cuts of beef. And not that fatty meat you normally would find at a Chinese buffet. The egg rolls are huge and not dried-out. The entire place is very clean. The salad bar and the dessert bar are actually colorful and appetizing, instead of drab and understocked. There's clearly a higher standard at Shang Hai.
