Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

For all of my derision with respects to chain restaurants, I wasn't always this way. Several years and (positive) twenty pounds ago I was quite the indiscriminating diner, filling my life, belly, and the multitude of holes poked in my self-esteem with cheap, greasy McDonald's hamburgers. There was a location about a block away from my high school and on the way to the bus stop. I wouldn't claim it to be an everyday occurance, but there were enough visits over the course of four years to warrant a nostalgia even today for a #2 Value Meal (two cheeseburgers with tomato. Supersized? Probably) despite the slew of better burgers I've had since. So about once a year I sulk back to those golden arches that dominated an unfairly large portion of my childhood and indulge in my guilty pleasure. As a kid, there's often that one place everyone gathers to eat and socialize. For my high school, it was McDonald's. For the kids of Bayside, The Max was the go-to place, and for the kids of East Wichita, it appears to be PO Boy. I noticed PO Boy when I was coming out of N & J's, as the name implied the pies were some Frankenstein marriage of a popular New Orleans sandwich and pizza. It wouldn't be too difficult to pull off, I don't think - lettuce is already a popular topping for taco pizzas, so you could slap that on the crust with some tomatoes and fried shrimp and call it good. Maybe Old Bay could be in there somewhere. I don't know. It doesn't matter, because PO Boy, turns out has no fried seafood on the menu to speak of (probably for the best). This is just an old-fashioned pizza dive offering some pretty solid pie to the hungry and growing young minds of the neighborhood high school. The item unique to PO Boy is the pizza roll - a twelve inch square of dough that's lightly topped with cheese and toppings and folded in half. I got a pepperoni variation, and it could have had perhaps a more generous serving of cheese and pepperoni, the ratio was nice enough for me not to complain about it, especially when the crust was just slightly chewy and had the small amount of black char that lets you know that whoever's working the pizza oven knows what they're doing. Though there was no sauce in the pizza roll itself, a serving was supplied for the dippin'. For me, the sauce is the second-most important ingredient in a pizza, next to the crust, and so many pizzerias overlook it. The sauce I had was not perfect - maybe a little too bitter to be well-rounded - but it was obviously seasoned, a little spicy, and overall adamantly seasoned in such a way as to be admirable. Great care was put into this sauce. For the $6.50 they're charging, the pizza roll was more than enough to stretch over the course of two meals, or one large one if you are, say one of the deluge of high school children that stormed the doors at approximately 11:30. Wide-eyed and unknowing of the harsh cataclysm of reality coming to crush most of their hopes and dreams, they sit and enjoy a nice slice from a neighborhood pizzeria that isn't as prominent as it should be in Wichita. As I was sitting there, waxing over my pizza roll, I overheard a kid talking about an impending move: "The worst part about leaving Wichita is that there's not a PO Boy." Sure, you could nitpick PO Boy, but the restaurant is just an older gentlemen working the counter and a woman (I romantically assume to be his wife) making the pies in the back. They've been serving their pies for years and years, and I would like to think that it's become almost a tradition for those kids at the high school, perhaps passing the tradition down to their kids when they're attending East Wichita fourteen years from now. It would certainly be better and cheaper than driving to Old Chicago East.

Remembered this place from high school, since it's located right across the street from Southeast. Dragged my husband out of the house for something different & memory served me correct - they were still good! It's a good value - I think they were around $5.60 each for the pizza rolls. And the servings are still HUGE - hardly fit on the plate.

Stopped by because I was looking for a non-chain place for lunch & this had nice reviews. Made the mistake of not looking at the pics before I ordered. Pizza Roll is huge & a great value for the money. The PoBoy isn't like a New Orleans style, but it was also a good value & had good flavor. It is ran by a little old couple & family. Very quiet people but very accommodating. Glad I stopped in.

I always come back here to get me a pizza roll for the price i will say it's good. It's quiet in there they are polite but don't expect a smile or a conversation lmao or not even a free cup of sauce for yo pizza but it's well worth it and love it and the old school games that u can play while you wait is amazing must try it.

The pizza rolls are awsome ask for the white sauce in addition to the red sauce. Not healthiest food though

Cool good pizza rollz. They are soft and zesty, a perfect snack for a couple of friends. Sauce is on the side for extra dipping amazingness!!! They look shut down but they are open eveyday!

Very tasty non traditional pizza for a great price. The building itself is right across from N&J bakery so just a little east of Lincoln and Edgemoor. I ordered the pepperoni pizza roll calzone stromboli sandwich thing. It has hard to really catagorize where this pizza dish falls in that range as it doesn't in my humble opinion really meet the criteria for any particular one. But who cares when it tastes good right? My pizza was ready very promptly and was served as mentioned by William L. with a side of dipping sauce. The dipping sauce was quite good and had just a little bit of zing to it. Just a word of warning though it can easily overpower the taste of the pizza when dipped to heavily as I did at first. The main pizza was quite tasty and I don't really have any complaints. For a grand total of $8 I got a good tasting meal that was served quickly with no mess or fuss about it what so ever. Overall I would definatly recommend this place. It's a great lunch spot for anyone working on the base or just in general, and did I mention the good price? Just one word of warning I am not sure if they take debit cards anymore, I didn't see any of the customary equipment for it on the counter. I used cash myself so I can't confirm but I was probably recommend having enough to cover your meal just in case (Pizza+drink =$8).

Po Boy is a little local place near East Wichita High School which makes a huge pizza roll. I use to go here all the time when I lived on the East side of town but haven't been there in about 8 years, till today. Its still a cool place for the kids from the school to stop and play on the 4 acarde games they have. Very friendly customor service and quiet during school hours. I ordered a Sauage pizza roll and a drink for $6.57, got my drink and found my booth. They brought me my Roll in about 5 min and it was huge, just as I remembered. Its was very good and it comes with a serving of sauce for dipping. I had enough roll left that I had it wrapped and I had it for lunch at work. I have always enjoyed the food here and still believe it is a great value for the buck.
