Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

EAT THIS PIZZA. Delicious. Cool atmosphere and slices as big as 2 heads. The Kitchen Sink slice was incredible. And the service is quick too.
(5)James Y.
Huge slices! And their one-size pizza is massive!! They also have subs and calzones. Really good thin crust pizza. Only complaint is that for individual slices, they take a cheese slice and put additional toppings on it then warm it in the oven. This makes the toppings not as cooked as the rest of the pizza. Ordering a whole pizza gets everything cooked together, like a regular pizza. But great pizza, great ambiance, great pizza joint in Delano. Grab a slice then head to Lawrence-Dumont Stadium around the corner to catch a game when the Wingnuts are in town! A great double-play! (I can't believe I just wrote that...)
(4)Bill L.
Wow another hidden treasure in wichita. NY style pizza by the slice, made to order. Nice thin crust sweet with a bit of a yeast flavor. Great sauce. Quick service, nice atmosphere. Outdoor dining.
(5)Alex M.
Good... but it ain't New York. NY style should be pliable enough to fold and eat (so as to funnel out the grease away from the body). The dough used at Picasso's makes the crust almost cracker-like and seems to add a blandness to the pizza. I could have used a bit more sauce too. It's a good start, but I hope they keep refining their process. Maybe a different dough, less time in the oven and a bit more spicing.
(3)Alexander F.
They keep forgetting to add the bacon... For shame that I'm eating a hot island with no bacon for the second time!!
(2)Michael C.
Highly recommend. The pizza slices are enormous and quite memorable. I got the Picasso and the heart attack. Most people should be fine with one slice, very reasonable prices!
(5)Trevor H.
Lunchtime Monday. No trouble parking street side. Required only 5 mins to get through register line. Pizza guy pleasantly offered to slice giant servings up; also offered to bring slice outside to my table. Good service. Pie unfortunately was quite ordinary. Sauce was a bit bland. Heart attack-go for the gold-was reasonably flavorful, albeit a bit greasy. Cheese was tasty. Sausage was ordinary; got one chewy bite mixed in. 2.5 star, rounds up for friendly service. Alas, I admit I am spoiled by the top notch pizza that Tulsa offers.
(3)Nicole C.
We've been there quite a few times and had some issues with orders, especially to go order. It's great pizza and different too but definitely recommend dining inside.
(3)Jason H.
Excellent food! From the moment you walk in the door the smell tells you that you aren't in some crap corporate pizza place. The staff was friendly and service was fast. The slices are big and topped to order. You guys have the pizza thing pegged! Keep it up.
(5)Jayme B.
I miss going here so much. Moved away and haven't found any pizza that matches up. Sounds like they are doing good and have expanded. Miss the huge slices. Friendly employees and welcoming environment.
(5)Josh M.
My wife says thier regular pizza is great, I say that their gluten-free pizza can't be worse.
(3)Kent D.
Why..did I wait so long? This place is just down the street and I drive past it every day, but it took a suggestion from my two daughters to finally try it out. Those slices are HUGE, they scared my wife. The four of us selected different slices and passed them about across the table. I had the "Hot Island" (canadian bacon, pineapple, pepperoncini and jalapeno), I just cracked the slice down the middle, folded it over, and started eating. All pizzas should be this good. Of the other three we tried (The Kansan, the Great White and the Woodstock), all had their merits, but I think I'm married to the Hot Island for life. Hip, funky atmosphere, music that surely appeals to the kids of today...and did I mention that the slices are bigger than a record album?
(5)Victor P.
The New York style pizza was good and the slices were huge. For the type of restaurant it is, the service was excellent, and it wasn't just one person, everyone there seemed friendly. The salad although in a plastic container (optimized to be taken to go) was good and fresh.
(5)Howard C.
Delicious pizza but a bit pricey. This is about as close to NYC pizza as you can get. The pizza comes out huge. So one pizza is more than enough for a family. If you don't eat it quickly, it does get soggy. Parking is not difficult. The atmosphere is like a pizza parlor. The seating is sufficient.
(4)Ivanna R.
My go to pizza place. Amazing.
(5)Mark W.
Overall a good expierence. I had the kitchen sink slice, and it was enjoyable. I say it is slightly better than a pizza hut type pizza. Atmosphere is better. I will eat here again.
(4)Jocelyn R.
Things I like - pizza. Things I hate - when businesses tell you it's going to take 25 minutes to get a piece of cheese pizza on a Saturday at 7 pm. Things I hate, the sequel - when said order comes out in like 11 minutes. I realize the intent is to make me happy that it didn't take as long as it could've but a better plan would maybe realizing that people are gonna want some cheese pizza on a Saturday and being prepared for such? The pizza itself was good, slices are huge as others have noted, prices are very reasonable. Staff was friendly, place seemed clean, etc. Yelp check-in order was expired so don't bother with that.

Picasso's is a hip little place in Delano that serves up huge slices of pizza - reminiscent of Sbarro but so so so much better - with fun toppings and plenty of condiments to go along with it. Although Picasso's isn't my favorite pizza joint in Wichita (I need a solid crust flavor-texture combo along with a great meld of flavors from sauce-toppings combo) they still rank pretty high. A price for one slice of pizza (which is huge and lends itself to leftovers, as long as you can stop yourself from eating it all - which is hard to do) is under $6. That's not bad for some quality pizza. They also have unique toppings and combos, such as the Kansan which includes sunflower seeds, bleu cheese, red onion, and spinach. A restaurant will ALWAYS earn points from me if they get creative with toppings and ingredients without relying on meat. The crust is very thin and crispy, and although it's a little plain, you can sweeten it up with some honey (which they kindly supply) once you are left with the end of the pizza. As far as the restaurant itself goes, the place has a hipster-like environment that takes you out of the heart of Kansas and into some place a little...hipper. The staff is nice. I have no complaints. So if you are down in Delano for the day, and you wonder if you should go to Pizza Hut (which is across the street from Picasso's) or Picasso's...the choice is clear. Picasso's all the way.
(4)Mike T.
Excellent pizza. I like simple tastes. The Pizza Margherita or the Picasso. Love the crust, sauce, and toppings. Good service. Fast service.
(5)Regina P.
I caught this restaurant totally by chance. I was in the area, my tummy was growling, and Yelp braught me here. The pizza slices are ginormous, not to mention delicious and served piping hot - which I love!! I ordered "The Cowboy," w/out onions, and it was so so SOOO yum! The crust was crispy, the tomato sauce was sweet, and the bbq sauce provided the perfect tang. The atmosphere was hip, relaxed, and our booth was clean (which is a big deal for me). The people were h*lla friendly and gave good suggestions, considering I was a virgin to the place. Yup, this is my new "go to!!" Go check this place out today!!!
(5)Tom L.
Loved it. Kids gobbled up their cheese slices, which they cut up for us. Great variety and flavors. Will be coming back to this one or Derby one soon.
(5)Mike H.
Didn't think I'd have a slice in Wichita that was similar to NY pizza until I went here. But for some reason my wife had them chop the slice into squares (?! it's big, but that's why you fold it). They have the crust down and that's often the hardest part. The sauce wasn't evenly spread out and the cheese seemed lacking (part-skim mozzarella maybe). These guys are close though.
(4)Brett H.
Great pizza, slices are very big. One slice is a meal. In Wichita on business meeting, found it through yelp. Definitely would go back. Service was fast. Restaurant was clean, neat old building.
(4)Danny V.
Pizza slices the size of your mom's face. Yeah, huge. Julia Roberts would dislocate her jaw on these things. The crew offers to make smaller slices out of your big slices. Take them up on it, because folding this pizza causes oil to drip. Not overly, but noticably. The crusts are truly thin and crispy, glazed in tasty sauces and well arranged toppings. The named pizzas ("Heartattack!") are all winners. There are plenty of downsides to this joint, but the pizza makes up for it. The place stays packed. Their outdoor seating is walled in, like having a backyard in the city. The drink selection is moderately varied, yet all disappointing. Parking can be a nuisance. And yet I'd be a regular here if I could.
(4)Chris W.
Outstanding! Second time to visit this place and we were craving a slice. I would weigh 500 lbs if I lived here. Not because they don't offer low cal meals ( they do) but the Heart attack is freaking awesome!
(4)Janet P.
My favorite pizza place! It's so delicious! And they must've changed something or I go at down times but my pizza comes out fast and hot! I had the heart attack slice the first time, yummy but the toppings all fell off :( so I just stick to the pepperoni. It's cheap and a huge portion! The Picasso is also super delicious, I love basil!!
(5)Anita H.
So many choices didn't know what to do-it's fantastic that they let you choose add and subtract to the menu items or you can create your own. Each piece of pizza is made individually-love that! The only reason it was not a five star was due to the Crust-desperately needed salt. The crust is definitely light and Crisp. I will definitely go back and take my husband!
(4)Nadia M.
The atmosphere was cool/chill. However, the pizza was lacking sauce. I wish they added more. I guess I could ask for some on the side, but it was a little dry. I had the works and then tried a cheese, both lacked enough sauce. I guess this is the type of place I would only try once. I do like the area it's in... oh and you can order by the slice.
(2)Kelona H.
Ordered the Picasso and the Magherita, single slices. Pizza was delicious. Crust on the Picasso was chewy and soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. Pesto was delicious, nice bite of garlic, and the slices were ridiculously huge. I could hardly finish My single slice... so If u bring Kids They could Def share a slice. Limited drinks (unless you want beer), just basic coke products. Ambience was nice. Spacious booths, dim lighting, industrial feel to the decor. Felt very authentic. Not a huge selection of pizza flavors, sort of pizzeria classics, with a couple unusual ones (The Kansan features blue cheese and sunflower seeds!)... If u want more unusual pizza flavors (read: s'mores, shrimp, etc) check out Wichita Brewing Co. I hear they specialize in that. Wait for the two slices was maybe 10+ minutes, seemed long cuz I was hungry, but well worth the wait. Pizza was very hot, served straight out of the oven. Free fountain drink refill. Fair prices. ($4-5/slice). I would definitely recommend the place.
(4)Vic S.
2 slices pizza and a bottled beer $15. Veggie and pepperoni. Tasty. Reminds me of the original Freebirds in College Station, TX. But burritos are more bang for the buck. I'll go back to Picasso's. Clean. And a video game for only 25 cents.
(3)Lisa S.
Great Pizza! Nice staff and we came right at closing and they stayed open for us!! Two thumbs up!!
(4)Long B.
Most pizza places are all the same and are hardly different from each other. Picasso's on the other hand does things differently where it's attracting customers that come back on a regular basis. As best I can describe their methods, it feels just like Lawrence/Topeka's The Burger Stand. It's got the similar atmosphere, same type of good music, ordering food, and lots of choice. The two quips I don't like about the place is their wall menu. It's setup like a long list which you can spend a lot of time staring up until your neck hurts. If they switched to a landscape rectangle menu, I think it would be easier for patrons to order. Also their paper menus they have located by the register would be better placed by the front door as you're walking in to get into line. Gives the customer some time to look through. As for their menu, it's fairly large with pizzas, calzones, and sandwiches. As for myself, I ordered the Guido sandwich. The sandwich comes with your choice of chips. The prices for their food range from 6.00-40.00 for a whole pizza pie. Don't let the prices fool you, because you will get a large portion enough for 1 person. Drinks are about 1.75 for a fountain drink to 4-5 dollars. Drinks will be Coca-Cola products and what I thought I saw a few choice alcoholic drinks. The wait time can vary depending on the foot traffic. I went at noon, and our wait time was about 20 minutes. It may seem like a long time, but it's really not considering they are making your food fresh. The sandwich itself... felt like it was dominated by a vinegar salad dressing. The bread was very nice. Crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The meat was hot with melted cheese and layered with veggies on top. Overall the ingredients were fresh and good. I think next time I'll hold off on the dressing they put in a little dipping sauce cup. Maybe I'll order it with marinara instead? My next visit I'll try their pizza or calzone, but for now they only get 3 stars.
(3)J.D. P.
Their menu ranges from simple pepperoni to the most eclectic of flavor combinations, all served New York style crust. Plus they will not even judge when you ask to have that enormous slice cut up into more manageable pieces. For beverages, they have the standard assortment of Coke products as well as several beers on tap and even more in bottle. From lunch to date night to family dinner out, Picasso's will not let you down.
(5)Ken D.
Wife and I ate here tonight for the first time. Friendly and very helpful staff and fantastic food. Fast service and great experience! Huge pieces of pizza and you can buy it by the slice or while pizza. Will be adding this to our dinner date list of restaurants.
(4)Traci C.
Food average. Priced right. Gluten free crust not good. Regular crust good not great.
(3)Adam E.
I dig this place a lot. If lived in Lawrence, KS for period Picasso's is basically the exact same place as Papa Keno's. While they offer large pies and calzones. I have only had a big slice and let me say its very good. Thin crust, delicious topping, and that perfect chew. I will be making a lot of trips back to Picasso's.
(4)Tiffany P.
Great find here in Wichita!! Sort of a small place and always very busy, but at least they have a big outside seating area!! Huge huge slices for a very good price!! Always a nice staff and pizza is thin and crispy to perfection! Lots of unique slices or build your own!
(5)James D.
This place is great!! I had been craving actually good pizza since moving back to town with little success. Well the search is over, this pizza has great crust, flavorful sauce, and an endless list of possible toppings. And you can order by the slice, so you can fulfill all you topping cravings. Best pizza in town!
(5)Josh C.
It's tough to find good gluten free pizza these days, but Picasso's does it very well (warning, there may be some cross contamination... eat there when they're not super busy if you need to). I eat here a couple times a week since I work up the street and the service is always great, the staff is awesome, and the prices are right. I love the Hot Island and the Kitchen Sink, but nothing on the menu has ever not met my expectations.
(5)Tanna K.
a great place to get pizza that huge! seatings may be full, so expect that when you go by during a rush hr (lunch times, weekdays, dinner times weekends) other than that.. food is worth it checking out!
(4)Logan A.
My favorite pizza place in Wichita. Great atmosphere, great pizza, and for a good price. It offers a college-town pizza joint vibe.
(5)Fredrick G.
A single slice is bigger than my face. Not gonna lie, that's the high point of this place for me. I like local places over the chains. By and large they provide a superior product than so many restaurants that you can find everywhere, anywhere. This restaurant has a great location and the staff are friendly. All positives. When it comes to the food - eh. It is what it is. It is good and tasty, but don't go in expecting something from New York, as some others have stated. While it is exceptionally thin, it's crust also much crispier than the ideal slice. I'll probably go here again because the food is good enough, and it is really close to where I currently live.
(3)Samantha B.
I am so glad I decided to try this place!! I've known about it for a while, but haven't been able to make it down. I arrive a little before noon. Somehow I lucked out and no one was in line. As soon as I finished ordering though, the line was out the door! I did order everything to go, but the wait was only 10 minutes or so. I ordered the kitchen sink and the great white. I also ordered an antipasta salad on the side. I really liked that you can order by the slice and it doesn't take any longer than a normal pizza. I couldn't believe how packed the salad was. Big slices of meat and cheese over a bed of frisee and bitter greens (really impressed with the quality of the lettuce. You don't find it often, specially at a pizza joint). As far as the pizza goes, it was darn good. I loved the flavor of the red sauce on the kitchen sink slice. Toppings were also very plentiful. The great white was just so so. I would order this again, but only if I could eat it at the shop. By the time I got back to work, the pizza was pretty cool, but I don't know anyone who doesn't like cold pizza. We will definitely be going back sometime when we can enjoy a beer and another slice of pizza. (PS ~ I can't comment on the authenticity of the New York style since I've never been to NYC).
(5)Debbie S.
Wow, yummy yum yum yum!!! This place is great! Just what I've been looking for! I had the Hawaiian pizza and it was delish. Remember one slice is really 2 slices because they are so big but really I guess if your hungry it's just right ;) They are a bit slow but you have to remember they are making individual slices to your liking! I would say the best pizza I've had in awhile.. (I still love Bartellis!) Great crust. I highly recommend this place! Tip: Ask for the punch card!, I think the 10th slice is free!
(5)Brad S.
Some foods are of a protected class and of such stature that those who try to mimic them fall under undue scrutiny because it fails to live up in one way or another. I think if you were to fly a New Yorker to Wichita and give him Picasso's pizza, they would outright tell you that this is not New York pizza. Yet, there's still quite a bit to like about Picasso's, and the stuff that's not quite New York is still admirable. Any time someone touts their New York-style pizza, I have my doubts, but when I watched those slices come out of the over, I was beginning to doubt myself. And were it a simple matter of sauce and cheese, it would be over without question, as both are excellent. But - as is usually the case - it comes down to the crust. While the taste of the dough was admirably clean and crisp, the flour used didn't have enough gluten, so the texture was brittle. Generally speaking, this isn't such a bad thing, as it lent itself to a crazy crisp crust even at the center of the slice - it was like the toppings were layered on a graham cracker - but when you got to the outside, the chew wasn't there, and it was even difficult to fold it in half. Of course, there was another reason it was difficult to fold it in half, and it's my absolute biggest gripe about the place. After taking my slice out of the oven, I watch as the manager takes a pizza cutter and goes all Zorro, cutting my slice into smaller pieces of irregular size and abstract shape. I guess this is an attempt to keep in line with the Picasso theme, but really I consider it to be an affront to the slice. It's like ordering a steak and the waiter decides to cut it for you before delivering it to your table. Every day eight million people manage to cut their pizza without assistance, and I would prefer to be among them. What I'm trying to say is I'm not a fan. That aside, the cheese slice I had was picturesque, and the Kansas slice - featuring spinach, blue cheese, red onions, and sunflower seeds - was interesting, though I think more spinach and a better blue cheese would have better worked towards the ensemble. I wanted to be sure of my findings, so I went back and performed a same-day taste test between Picasso's and the one other New York-style place in town, Bartelli's, using a single slice of cheese. The older restaurant's simplistic approach to their mozza and the lightly-flavored sauce pales in comparison to the new guy in town, but when it comes to the crust, my original sentiments were re-confirmed. Overall, though, it's still a better slice than Bartelli's, and worth the five stars. Also, in the three weeks between opening and my return visit, the place has exploded, resulting in wait times up to half an hour during my visit on a Saturday night, and apparently they were close to double that the night before. They're obviously having trouble keeping up with demand, and I'll agree with Chris Y. that perhaps waiting to assemble even the most basic slices until the POS is probably hurting them. The owner was literally apologetic - he walked around the place apologizing for the wait once he got out from the deluge of orders. With a super friendly staff and a good handle on the fundamentals of the pizza, it's not difficult to see Picasso's becoming a Delano staple, and while we're still a ways away from having the quintessential New York pie in Wichita, we're getting closer.
(5)Tiffany T.
Love it! If your craving pizza, definitely a great stop! Huge slices! Always delish!!
(5)Brianna E.
I really don't get the hype over this place. I love pizza, all kinds of pizza and ya their crust is decent, but the toppings are so-so, the sauce is so-so, and paying $5.95 for a slice of pizza just so you can put honey on the crust isn't really a selling point for me. Yes the slices are enormous, but I'd prefer to pay half the price for half as much. A ridiculous amount of food that I probably won't be able to finish isn't really a selling point for me either. I tried their name sake pizza, the Picasso. $5.95 for a slice & an extra $.65 to add an additional topping like pepperoni. I didn't add the pepperoni but I should have, because it was the most (and only) bland and unremarkable $5.95 slice of pizza I've ever had. Then I washed it down with a $1.75 soda. I just visited a few pizza places in Boston last month & the most I paid for a slice of pizza in Boston was a little over $2 and it's by far the best pizza I've ever had. I actually thought to myself as I was eating their pizza was "MAN! This pizza is so much better than Picasso's." We're not in Boston, I get that but this place is just too expensive for the quality. Yes absolutely this place is better than Pizza Hut, Papa Johns,Domino's, & Little Caesars. Yes I'd much rather give my money to a local business over a chain, yes it's conveniently located in nearby Delano, and yes it's one of the few pizza by the slice places in Wichita and maybe I would have liked the $4.30 slice of pepperoni better but this place does not live up to the raving I heard so much about.
(2)Danny C.
I've been wanting to go to this place for over a year and finally got the chance to go last night. It's a great pizza atmosphere inside and can hold about the same amount of people any other pizza place can, but on it's busy days might be hard to find a seat. For a slice of pie, they are very fulfilling. I had a slice called The Heart Attack which as a meat pie. The crust is super thin and foldable and the size of a take home pizza would be huge!! For what you get the cost is pretty decent. A slice that could easily be 3-4 slices of a large pie. The taste isn't the best I've ever had, it's hard to get a good amount of sauce on there with the crust being so thin, but overall I would definitely come back. Support your local restaurants!!!
(4)David J.
Pizza is awesome. Depending on the day, you may have a hard time finding a seat (but that's weekends in Wichita for you).
(4)Lan N.
This is really good pizza for Wichita. I don't think that it should be compared to a NY pizza any more than the Donut Whole should be compared to Voodoo Donut. The pizza slice here is massive. We tried the Picasso along with the Great White and the Cubist. My favorite was the Picasso, while my husband liked the Great White, since he's not into red sauce. Actually, he felt that this was one of the best white pizzas he's ever had, so I'm sure that we will be returning.
(3)Sarah J.
Huge pizza slices! Very yummy. Sometimes finding seating can be a problem, but the food is good enough to take that chance!
(4)Pat M.
We are thin crust fans in my house and we lived for many years in one of those East Coast places that thinks it invented pizza and claims the best pie (apizza) in the country (New Haven if you are wondering). We've been on a quest for the best pie in Wichita, and we've seen a number of well recommended but sad disappointments. Picasso's has restored our enthusiasm for pizza night! Good thin crust, wonderful fresh ingredients, and quick, attentive service. If I had any constructive feedback, it would be to cut back on the salt a bit in the base sauce and let all the topping favors sing for themselves. We had no wait on this Sunday night close to 7pm closing. We'll be back.
(4)David B.
It was so so. I had the great white and the kitchen sink. The great white had too much fresh garlic. It would've been significantly better have the garlic been roasted, but it was overwhelmingly fresh raw garlic flavored that I found myself scraping off the toppings halfway through. The kitchen sink was better, except that the mushrooms onions and green peppers were in such large chunks that they were barely cooks at all. I prefer my vegetables to be better cooked instead of crunchy. If you like your vegetables crunchy then the kitchen sink will be a fine pizza.
(3)Lisa C.
I always appreciate a place that has gluten free offerings, but Picasso's makes you basically sign a verbal waiver upon ordering a GF pizza that says you are okay with cross contamination. Which means you may very well be eating gluten in your gluten free meal. Now, as someone who eats gluten free by necessity (not by choice), it irks me that they don't take any precautions to avoid cross contamination (at least they freely admit it). The RIGHT thing to do, if a restaurant is going to offer GF items, would be to research and implement measures to avoid cross contamination. See PF Changs for a best practice. All that said, the pizza was good. Not superb, but good. I'll be back if I don't get sick tomorrow. :)
(2)Barb N.
I totally love Picasso's Pizza. We were so excited when they opened one in Derby. Went tonight, and was so disgusted watching the girl making pizza. She was wearing gloves, but in about a 3 minute span, she scratched her head 4 times, rubbed her nose 3-4 times, appeared to wipe sweat off her face twice, all with her gloved hands. At one point she left the pizza making area, went out front and picked up menus that people had been looking at, and went back to where she was. She continued to make pizzas during all this, without ever changing gloves. After that I couldn't watch anymore as it was making me so angry to see this type of thing. I think this was our last trip to Derby site!!!
(2)Torin A.
Awesome, comfortable restaurant with HUGE slices of pizza and almost whatever you could ask for available for toppings. Great place for lunch, late dinner, take the family, carry out one their GIGANTIC pizzas made to your request. Patio seating outside and plenty of interior seating. Community conscious and compassionate. Fun staff with a big city feel.
(5)Philip L.
I was pretty stoked to try this place out- pizza by the slice in a hip part of town, decent reviews, what could go wrong? So from the moment you walk in the place feels more like a club than a family friendly pizza shop. Huge high-backed booths in dark upholstery. Not many lights. Semi-friendly hipster at the cash register. Huge menu on the wall with fixings and descriptions of their "slices of art". Ahh yeah, Picasso's...art...I get it. So I'm thinking either this slice will be an emotionally moving event or these guys might be taking themselves a little too seriously. So I ordered a slice of "The Kitchen Sink" and a drink - totaled about $9 so not cheap but I'm thinking its art so probably going to be worth it. About 10 min later I hear my name called and stroll back to pick up my slice. Its huge and beautiful, I'm ready to be amazed. perfect balance of toppings, plenty of cheese and some charred bits on the edges where the cheese spilled onto the pan. I dig in, immediately surprised by the lack of flavor. How could something so pretty taste so bland? Maybe I got a bad spot. Another bite, nope. Blah. The crust was pretty charred on the bottom but somehow the veggies on the topping tasted uncooked. Another few bites, no discernable sauce flavor. I could see the sauce but it was pretty tasteless. The parts of the crust that weren't charred tasted like flour, water, and that's it. No saltiness or sweetness our hints of sourdough, just blank and doughy. So if you're looking for food that is pretty for your Instagram photo feed this is worth the $9. If you plan on actually eating it and enjoying the taste look elsewhere.

It took FOREVER to get a slice. We ordered 2 slices of veggie and then sat & waited almost 40 minutes!!! That is ridiculous. So many other reviewers have compared Picasso's to NY Pizza...so I will keep the trend rolling. Having lived in NYC for over a decade before coming back to Wichita I've eaten my fair share of pies from all the boroughs. Is Picasso's NYC quality? No. Is it as close to the real thing as you can get in Wichita? So far I would say yes. NYC pizza is NYC pizza because of many things, one thing you cannot replicate is the water and thus the mozzarella. But who cares about that, what Picasso's misses on is consistency, timing, and experience. I'll bet if I'd been one of the people picking up one of their ginormica (or whatever they call them) pizzas I would have been pleased...but I wasn't. I was trying to get 2 slices for me, my wife, and my son. So the ginormicas took up all the space in the oven and my 2 slices got shoved aside. When the slices finally did come out my individual slice was inconsistently cooked. The front (always my favorite bite) was under cooked and soggy. The middle was crispy and delicious, the end and crust was burnt. This showed me that Picasso's is suffering from new restaurant syndrome. I'll bet their pizza kicks ass when they are half full...but that isn't what makes a place a restaurant. Consistency. They need to learn how to deliver the same product whether their in the weeds or taking the first order of the day. That is the trick, and I think in time they will figure it out. My first experience...2 stars. Do I think they have the potential to be better? Absolutely, and that is the risk when you go here right now...you gotta roll the dice and see which pizza you get; the soggy one, the crispy one, or the burnt one. Once they can deliver the crispy one every time they will be the best pizza in Wichita - which is either 4 or 5 stars depending on where you are from. You want 5 star pizza? Go to Gruppo on Ave B. and 12th in NYC. You want 4 star pizza? Go to Picasso's when they are not busy and hope you get a good pie. I am looking forward to trying Picasso's again in the future and hopefully amending my rating to at least a 3 star...I know they can do better...but I gotta experience it first.

Awesome food and fabulous customer service. If I ever I am back in Wichita I will eat here again!

The slices are a good size to fulfill your hunger. I ordered the Hot Island (bacon, pineapple, jalepenos) which was tasty, but my boyfriend ordered the The Cowboy (bbq chicken) and I liked his more than mine. I'll be back there again sometime to try out other toppings!

I've said this many times, but I never met a pizza I didn't like. If I ever commission a family crest, that will probably be the motto. Picasso's is no exception. We went on Friday for lunch and it was, in a word, phantasmagorical. Yes, the slices we tried were $5.95 a piece, but they were HUGE! So big, in fact, that the slices had to be cut into slices. I will say it again. The slices had to be cut into slices. Is your mind blown? Because when the guy asked me I stood there with my mouth open for a good 15 seconds. The Picasso and the Kitchen Sink tasted so good, I've already developed a strong pizza loyalty to them after one visit. Not sure I will be able to break that on return visits, but I will try. And there definitely will be repeat visits!

I like Picasso's. The slices are HUGE and cheap. They have a ton of cool toppings, but it's also a good place for picky eaters, and they have a glutton free crust option. You can get in and out pretty quick, which makes it a good option for lunch. The only downside is how small the building is.

Huge slice of pizza for the price --- it is pretty much the size of a personal pizza shaped into one wonderful gigantic slice. The pizza is wonderful but my major complaint is the price of beer being near the same price as the pizza for a baby glass.

My "Heart Attack" wasn't anything to write home about and it was barely an acute myocardial infarction to be quite honest. And if anyone tries to tell you that this place sells NYC pizza, laugh at them. The toppings were ok, save the sausage which was plain and rubbery. The cheese sauce and other meats did fine. The crust was just downright bad. More hydration, a longer rest, and some salt would go a long way. The crust is really thin so you dine notice the lack of flavor until the bones at the end. But when you do reach the end you have nothing giving any flavor. It made the flavorless sausage shine in comparison. The slice was of a generous size but overall the value isn't here. I'll go 3 stars because it is better than the pizza hit across the street but if there was any decent competition in the area, I'd have to go 2 star.

Their pizzas are quite tasty and they have a nice selection to choose from. My favorite is the Picasso with chicken but I've tried several and they've all been good. The customer service is usually friendly and we've only had one bad experience out of the 10+ times we've visited.

Normally I am not a thin crust pizza lover, but WOW, Picasso's Pizzeria in Wichita might just convert me! I won't compare it to NYC pizza because that's not what it is. It's thin crust though - very thin and yummy. Awesome selection of toppings on huge tray size slices. My co-workers and I go almost once a week, and we love this place. I've seen other reviews complaining about the wait - I have been numerous times and can be in and out during the lunch rush in an hour without a problem. I have also ordered their gigantic pies for an office party, and they carried them to my car for me and helped me fit them in my hatchback! Talk about super customer service. They have also started a pizza card, so each time you order a slice they stamp it so you'll eventually get a free "piece of art" - which is what they all their specialty pizza. I love the name sake slice, and I would recommend the Picasso slice to anyone loving feta. Be careful of the round bench table combo on the back patio, it tips easily.

Huge slices of pizza loaded with meat and veggies. One is plenty!

Some of the best pizza we've had. Slices are huge and they offer great combinations and style of pizza. We each got a slice of the Hot Island and I had an extra slice of the Cowboy. Both were great. We also got an appetizer, mozzarella sticks. They were good, but the pizza was way better. Although we stuck to drinking tea they offered great deals on beer. Among other deals, they have $2 Coors Light drafts everyday. They even changed one of the TV's for us so we could watch the Miami Heat vs Pacers game. The only "negative" was the very young kid at the cash register could have been a little nicer when we were asking questions and ordering. We would definitely go back for a slice or two. The whole pizza there is the size (or bigger) of an over sized truck tire!

Hands down the best pizza in town. Great slices, great sandwich's, go there you will not be disappointed!
(5)Michelle S.
Fabulous pizza! Great atmosphere. Picasso's is my kids favorite pizza place!
(5)Jon K.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while and when I finally went there I wasn't disappointed. The slice's there are huge compared to other places, and it tastes so much better than all the other chains like Pizza hut and many others.
(5)Stephanie H.
This is the kind of pizza place Wichita needed. There are many awsome choices by the slice or whole pie. Atmosphere is as a good pizza place should be and very friendly service. Looking forward to going back
(4)Kyle D.
Great pizza and big slices. Is on my weekly lunch list while I'm in town. They have an awesome selection special topping combos, or you can make your own. If they ask you if you want your slice cut... go with it. I tried to "figure it out" and ended up making a mess.

Hands down, the most impressed I've been with a pizza in a LONG time. My husband, son, and I each ordered something completely different. The guys got a Pepperoni, a Cheese, and a Picasso. I ordered off of the specialty menu, choosing the Great White and adding chicken. Each of them were a masterpiece, perfectly cooked, crispy, and easily foldable. It's a good thing they were foldable too! The slice was bigger than my son's head. The man that called our order offered to cut the slices down if we liked, but I declined. Pizza is always much better folded. We were very impressed with the ample size of the slice and the explosion of flavor that came along with it. The atmosphere to the area was very artsy and welcoming. We will definately go back.

I feel as though a plain cheese pizza says alot about a pizza place so this is what I always get at new places & got on this visit. The appearance of the pizza was very appealing & everyone was very friendly so I really wanted to like this place. The pizza was very salty. As a matter of fact, the only thing I could taste other than salt was oregano. Might be willing to give it another shot if I'm feeling brave.

Very good pizza! I will definitely be back.

What's not to like about a slice o' pie as big as your head? The toppings are as fresh as the staff, the decor is a bit dark, but in that seedy, hipster way that makes you feel a littler cooler than you really are the minute you sit down to eat. The best part? You get to say, "oh yeah Picasso's?" "It's this really cool joint i found down in Delano-you know...Downtown..." See you there cool cats!!

My wife and I had lunch sandwiches @ Picasso's on Saturday, 7/6, on the recommendation of another retailer in the Delano District. The meat on my Guido sandwich was so tasty and the bread was very good with the dressing served on the side. I look forward to returning to try a slice when I'm more hungry and not just about to get on the road back to Tulsa.

We took our granddaughter there for lunch. The only thing that have is large slices otherwise nothing memorable about it. NOT NY Pizza!

My favorite type of pizza are the ones that have medium to thick crust with lots of bold tomato sauce. I guess more like the Chicago style pizza. I can find many places that are average or above average, but none that I would call great. I came here seeing that it has one of the better ratings for pizza in Wichita. I ordered the Picasso pizza. It took only 10 minutes for me to get my food. When I saw the pizza slice, I was amazed at the size. One slice will probably be enough for most people. It was thin and light on the tomato sauce. So it wasn't really my style of pizza. But when I took my first bite, I said "wow" out loud. That is what a real pizza should taste like. This place looks to be very popular. When I arrived for lunch at 1130am, I got one of the last remaining tables. And when I left at 12pm, the line to order was going out the door. Highly recommend this if you are in the mood for real pizza.

We have been there several times for lunch. A few words of advice... Get there early. If you show up just a few minutes late, be prepared to wait. All slices are made to order, so, keep that in mind. The slices are huge and well worth the wait. We have ours cut for us when done so we can actually eat all of it while it's hot. The crust is awesome and the toppings pretty generous. Thank the Lord and Baby Jesus we have a real pizza joint now (my regards to Bartelli's as they are very good too!). Go and try it out, it's worth it! Disclaimer, I have never been there for dinner.

Flavorful! A bit burnt but didn't taste off-putting. Piece of pizza is big enough to share with another person. Breadsticks were delish. Loved the garlic infused marinara sauce. I'll be back to try the calzones!
(5)Julie S.
Loved this little joint! I picked up a couple of different pies for an event we were hosting. First of all, I love the open kitchen and the ability to see behind the curtain as to what's going on. I also loved the friendly young lady working the cash register - I wish I had gotten her name. She was friendly with all the guests and answered all my questions. A manager came by too and was lovely as well. I ordered two ginormus pies for our event: a Kitchen Sink and a the namesake Picasso - so good! I loved the Picasso, with the fresh basil pesto, spinach, feta and Roma tomatoes. But the Kitchen Sink was great too - a little bit of everything. I don't think I could have chose a favorite, but luckily, I don't have to! I wish we had a place like this in OKC - not trendy or hipster or too cool for school, just a pizza place, serving up great pies with no pretension. Just one more reason to love Wichita!

I have been here before. Wife and I thought we would enjoy some pizza. Pizza ended up way over cooked. All we got was SORRY. Sorry not sure I'll be back. I was shocked that the staff working there didn't care a bit about my satisfaction.
(1)Bridget L.
Friendly staff and the biggest slices of pizza I've ever seen. Fun atmosphere and good background music. Nice interior old red brick walls. Would come back!
(4)Losh A.
Huge pizza slices, like new york style. It was delish! Though i noticed drinks were a lil pricey , but worth going there surely for their pizzas. Had the big island because had to try the bestseller first! Im sure gonna come back again.
(4)David C.
Great food. I've enjoyed most things on the menu except the bread sticks. I usually get the Kansan and the garlic knots. I really enjoy the patio on a nice day.
(5)Chryz C.
I went here for dinner tonight and definitely enjoyed a HUGE slice of pizza! I ordered The Veg and added some jalapeños. I think it's the best veggie pizza I've had in Wichita so far. It had a good flavor and wasn't bland like many veggie pizzas out there---I'm thinking that it was due to the sauce. I also liked the thin crust and the reasonable price. I will definitely return :)
(5)Taylor F.
This is my go to pizza place. Every time I go to theatre with my friends, we go here first in the Delano district and pig out on Picasso pizza. I personally get the veg add pepperoni but sometimes I like to get the hot island. It's delicious. The employees are very nice and greet you as if they know you. Very cute decoration inside. The pizza prices are generous considering how much pizza you're getting. The salad is so fresh and crisp you can tell it is made fresh daily. It's definitely worth making the trip if it's far.
