I think this is an awesome place to grab a quick Mexican bite! It's like walking inside a Mexican Jamba Juice only with tropical fruits, juices, and many other varieties. I had their mango lada which was a good personal sized cup with the mix and a straw. I honestly thought it was going to be much bigger and overwhelming but it was pretty tiny. Regardless it was enough for me and it was most importantly delicious! My gf had their fruit cup with the lemon and spice mix. Her order was good too; enough variety to keep the palate going rather than eating the same fruit. Overall, I think this place is good and it's perfect for the Hispanic community and foodies like me. It provides more color within the food community in Wichita. Thanks!

One of the hidden gems in Wichita! I ordered the Tropicana because the cashier girl said it was one of their most popular and she is right! On a hot day in Wichita, this sinful dessert sure hits the spot! The tropicana is a smoothie consisting of mangos, coconuts, condense milk, and I believe vanilla ice cream. It was so delicious but by the end of the drink I could feel the diabetes running through my veins! I would definitely come back to try all of the other items on the menu!

A franchise as much as a paleteria can be, Tropicana is one of only three Mexican ice cream shops in town. Though its five locations across the state is enough to keep me preferring La Reyna, it's not like it's McDonald's-level homogonization, either. In fact, I think the flavors are left up to the individual locations, because I would be surprised if anyone in charge of multiple businesses would consider "French vanilla cheese" a viable option for a widespread ice cream flavor. But maybe they should, because I found the little flecks of cheese provided a bit of savory to offset the incredible amount of sugar. There was also a strawberry and cheese flavor that was not sampled but probably should have been. From my searches online, this does not appear to be flavor normally popular with paleterias, but the Wisconsinite in me approves wholeheartedly.

We went here for boba and found out they no longer have it. Instead, it's smoothies, fruits, and desserts from Mexico. I ordered an avocado smoothie (with no boba) and got the corn snack (not sure what it's called). My avocado tasted like butter! Very bland too. The corn was not fresh, roasted corn but canned corn so it wasn't what I expected. Very watery. Since my experience with these items were disappointing and they don't have boba anymore I probably won't be back.

This is an amazing concept that is going to sweep the country! This is one of the first franchises of the original concept developed in Kansas City, MO. It is authentic, healthy Mexican desserts and light snack fare. The focus is primarily the fruit-based desserts y ensaladas de frutas...YUMMY YUMMY! All of the paletas (popsicles) are home-made and amazing! We are not talking normal artificial-tasting American bomb pops here - you have flavors like avocado, plum, passionfruit and my personal favorite Chili Mango! To completely die for! A spicy popsicle - seriously, when was the last time you had one of those. If it wasn't so cold out I would have let it drip down my hand just so I could lick it all off! Another specialty is Fresas con Crema or frozen strawberries with fresh made cream poured on top! Nothing artificial, no preservatives, no crap! Just delicious Mexican goodness. If you are in Wichita (this location) or Kansas City and you are craving a different dessert you have to check it out. And you do not have to be of Mexican or Latin American heritage to enjoy. (Although, depending on who is working the counter, you might have to whip out some of that awful high school Spanish that you thought you had totally forgotten...oh wait, you did forget! Who cares, get in there and just point and grunt if you have to - you won't regret it!) Coming soon to a neighborhood with a Hispanic population near you! That means anywhere - so rejoice!

Stopped in on a warm spring afternoon for ice cream and walked out with a scoop of a homemade flavor called "Petals" for $2.75. It was DELICIOUS. It was pink and creamy, and looked like it had bits of walnut mixed in. Upon a closer examination I discovered they were pine nuts. Who ever concepted this petal/pine nut ambrosia should be my new best friend. A lady in the shop ahead of me in line was struggling with her Spanish (I know almost none) and was asking me "Como se dice 'malt'?" No se. BUT she let me try her ensalada de frutas, a combo of cucumber slices, jicama, watermelon, and mango lightly sprinkled with chili lime spice. This fruit salad will be softly calling to me in my dreams, come July. I cannot wait-- cannot. wait. -- to go back.
