Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

The wait is over eastsiders for more great authentic Mexican cuisine. The chips and salsa rock. The guacamole is perfect and the queso dip delightfully real cheese. All tacos come setting up and the fillings are exquisite-steak, chicken, fish and their blend was crazy tasty! And refried beans serve a a great dipping choice after you clean out the cheese and guacamole containers:)

The atmosphere was pleasant. The chile verde absolutely exquisite! In fact any pork dish here would be very pleasing to enjoy!

Could've have been more delighted that this gem FINALLY opened in our hood. We've been watching the building since announcements were made in late September of 2014 and felt like it would never happen. Service on was par, the place was hopping, and of course food was DEEE-LICIOUS! I went with the pirata based on reviews of the other location and my husband went for the variety of 4 street tacos, letting our server pick the fillings based on her personal recommendation. After a side order of guacamole and some of their famous hot sauce, we had more than enough food to feed an entire army at a very reasonable price. I can easily say we will be back, again...and again!

I'm so confused about the things people in wichita love when it comes to food. We went to the east side location and it was for sure the worst experience we've had in a restaurant. The place was clean the host was friendly. The waitress we had took forever to come take our drink order, when my husband asked if they had horchata the waitress said " I don't speak spanish, if it's not on the menu, I don't know it" They weren't busy 10 tables were full. Our food took 45 minutes to get to us. My husband's tacos came with nothing but a wrinkly lime and cost $10. My carnitas were fairly priced but came without any flavor. When we asked for silverware, our waitress yelled at the hostess right next to our table about making sure all tables got some. Every single waitress was walking around with a scowl on her face. Every. Single. One I get it waiting tables isn't fun all the time, people are rude. I've waited tables all my life, I too have resting b**** face but if I want customers to come back, and leave me great tips, I make sure I'm smiling all the time.

Fantastic place. Don't judge until you taste the food. We started with salsa de queso along with chips and salsa. They a salsa sampler that I will try next time. I had one pirata with cochinita pibil (pork). It was great. I'm glad I didn't get two as it is large. The rice was good. The refried beans and house salsa could be better but I f I lived in ict, I would be there once a week.

Will I cross this threshold again? Nope. Never. New (second) Location: 7817 E 37th St. N. (There is no web site for this location, only the one on Waco.) First, the hostess station was dirty (dusty), in disarray and unattended. When the hostess finally did appear, no greeting, no smile, just the question, "How many?" Second, the sullen wench tried to seat us at a table exposed to all the customer traffic in and out of the restaurant, next at a table that would be subject to all the kitchen traffic! I pointed to a booth in the back and asked to be seated there. She did with a 'gawd-I'll-be-glad-to-be-done-with-these-people" attitude. My companion and I like to start our meals with a cocktail. On the menu, it said "See Drinks Menu." So when the waitress appeared, finally, (Aside: The restaurant was not busy, it was just five o'clock.) to greet us, we asked for the Drinks Menu to order a cocktail. She stated that they didn't have a drinks menu. Huh? But it says on the main menu that there is a drinks menu. She shrugged and directed us to the pictures on the menu, so tiny as to be unreadable and with no prices, where it also says "See Drinks Menu." But, we wanted a cocktail first. She only offered the house margarita. There are a gazillion types of margaritas, so what is the HOUSE margarita? She couldn't describe it. My companion asked about the beers - she paused before she offered a couple and, annoyed, directed him back to the microscopic picture of beer bottles on the main menu. Then, she just stood there. I got irritated and snapped, "I'll just take ice water." My companion seconded the water order. She left. Meanwhile, we continued to study the menu, but our appetites were quickly waning when along comes some fellow who states, without apology, that we have to move. We can't sit in the booth because they are having trouble with the Coke machine and the repairman needs to access the lines under the booth. That was it. Without fanfare, we walked out. Then, in the car on our way to Abuelos, my companion added, "Yeah, and when I unwrapped my silverware, it didn't seem very clean." We really wanted to like this place but will not tolerate the inhospitable attitudes and the "Drinks Menu" game-playing. I won't go back. Oh, by the way, our dinner at the Abuelos in the Waterfront development was relaxing and tasty. Date of Visit: 5Aug2015

I love this place. The staff is friendly and attentive. The lemon pepper rimmed margaritas are awesome! The Street tacos, piratas, and gorditas are my favorite. Nice atmosphere. Recommended.

Loved it! The ambience is bistro-like, tasteful, and comforting. The staff friendly and accommodating. Their house margarita is the BEST in town, the glass rimmed with a unique lemon-pepper. I started with a generous helping of their delicious, creamy guacamole. I'm not a big salsa fan but Molino's is hearty and fresh. I would highly recommend one of their specialtie,s piratas, sooo good. Also sampled the cauliflower cerviche and enjoyed it. After our marvelous meal we walked next door to the Juarez Bakery, oh yeah....

Absolutely fantastic! Every part of our lunch was delicious. From the homemade salsa that they refilled many times, to the enchiladas verde. There is a corn side that I can't remember the name of, but I would come back for that alone. Soooo good. Service was just ok. 2 of our party of 5 got their lunches a good 10 minutes before the rest. Had to ask several times for more water. However, the food was so great, I'm still giving 5 stars. Will definitely be back. Btw, stop by the bakery next door for some sweets, very good!

I've been going to Molino's for a little while and if you're willing to give the restaurant time to find out what you really enjoy from the menu, then you won't be disappointed. The piratas are delicious and when I first started coming here I would lean towards ordering the fish tacos. I had issue with these dishes because they seemed slightly pricier than I'd like, but I still kept managing to come back and try new things. Eventually, I got to their salad (the one with pineapple, I can't remember the name) and I would order that with both tilapia and cauliflower ceviche - deliciousness! I started wanting smaller portions (for weight loss) so ordering the half salad this way was exactly the right amount of food and super reasonably priced. Even so, I started craving more cauliflower ceviche and started ordering this with a side of elote ... oh gosh, it was OVER for me. I could eat this for the rest of my life. Sometimes, I'd ask for a side of chicken if I wanted more oomphf, but I really fell in love with this dish. Tried to make it at home, but you know, everything is better when someone else cook's it. Unfortunately, I won't eat this as much because I'm staying away from onions and the ceviche is prepared ahead of time. My boyfriend orders the taco salad and I steal bites often. Pretty nummy. Fat girl in me wants: piratas, taco salad Skinny girl in me wants: Cauliflower ceviche, extra avocado, hold the tostada or half salad Best of both worlds: Ceviche+xtra avocado+chicken+elote+stealing bites from someone else's plate Service is back and forth, sometimes it's great and sometimes it's meh. I'm not picky about service though and frankly, I don't think people really should be if the food is good and the price is right, but to each their own.

The Gorditas are what brought me back here. Had a pork dish with rice and beans which was ok. Rather disappointed with the stamped corn tortillas. Will come back to try the cauliflower crevice though

Excellent choice for Mexican food in NW Wichita! I had a pirata with chicken and just one was enough to fill me up. It's an 8 inch flour tortilla with melted cheese and chicken (you can choose your meat) and then with lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream, served like a large taco. My wife had the chile verde which was excellent, not salty as they can sometimes be. Mother-in-law had chipotle enchiladas with chicken which were also very good (spicy but not too bad). Nice selection of Mexican beers, too. The margarita my wife had seemed like 100% pre-made mix from a bottle with a small splash of tequila, if any. Would not recommend them. Maybe they had another type of margarita that was better, but we didn't get to see their drink menu. -1 star for the so-so margarita and slow service when we sat down. (But once we ordered the food came fast and hot). Will definitely go back. And the Mexican bakery/food store next door is out of this world!

The food was awesome. I had the street tacos and queso. Both were really great. The service was sub par when I went though. Our drinks went empty before refilling, and we had to ask for things a few times before receiving them. I believe their computer system was down though so I'll cut them some slack and try it again.
