I've been in Wichita for 2 weeks and been to three steakhouses on the east side, and this is easily the best. Not only was the ribeye better here, it was also less than half the price. The corn and lobster chowder was excellent, even if I did have to wait 5 minutes for it to be cool enough not to burn my tongue. The mashed potatoes were creamy smooth and the perfect compliment to the expertly prepared ribeye. The lobster tail was juicy and succulent, but just a tad salt for my taste. To top it off I had the molten lava cake, which was gooey and decadent and sinfully delicious. But easily the best part of my dinner was the service. My waiter, Shannon, was at the top of his game. Attentive but not overbearing, he was the consummate professional. The food was 4 stars, but his service easily pushes this rating to 5. If I make it back to Wichita, I'll be here for dinner.

I was visiting Wichita, Kansas and took a friend to the Towne East location for her birthday and the food was delicious & accurately priced. My server whose name was Haley, was extremely busy and couldn't get over to our table as fast as she wanted, but her fellow employees worked as a team to help her out, which was excellent to me, and (coming from a food service background) how I believe a restaurant should run. Haley gave excellent service, despite being extremely busy. The manager even came by to check on this and see how our meal was going. When I left the restaurant, I forgot my credit card, and forgot to leave a tip on my credit card. When I went back 45 minutes later to give Haley a cash tip, she had already left for the day. That's when the restaurant alerted me that I had forgotten my card, and promised to give the tip to Haley. This is exactly how dining out should be. I give it 2 thumbs up, 5 stars, a golden fork award, in any other on a reward that you can bestow in the food industry, lol! #LonghornsDidThat #ExcellentDiningExperience

Great service here. Chilli cheese fries needs more to it. Manager came out and took it off the tab without us even complaining about it. Porterhouse still better than the ribeye. In my opinion. But still the ribeye was good. Happy hour is always a plus!!!

Not real big on chains, but I found this gem by accident about four months ago. Great for private lunches or dinners. Servers are well trained and personable. Great prices and the bar is well manage too. I'm glad we have Darden in the business of food. All of their location are usually well managed and the food is really good. Highly recommend this place. It's far from Chester's or the Scotch, but we don't need that everyday do we? Good venue!

No complaints about this longhorn. They cooked my fillet to perfection. My waiter was on her last day, and seemed more than happier to be there. Prices aren't great, but this is an instance where it's reasonable. Bathrooms where clean. Our waiter was very very friendly. Great food. I don't know how our visit could have been better.

On our overnight in Wichita we found this location near our motel. Fast friendly service and surprisingly quick proration. She had the Cajun Shrimp with rice and green beans and loved it. He had the lamb chops (Chef's suggestion) and they were great with mashed potatoes and spinach. The bread was great and we consumed the loaf. The server was wonderful, friendly and engaging. We will be found here again.

It was busy on Friday, so I ate at the bar. Great, friendly, personal service. Very good homemade salad (homemade blue cheese dressing recommended), and a good chicken sandwich. The only disappointment was a small variety of beer.

Just an amazing experience. The service was great. Prices were fair and the food was the best. I got the country fried steak and it was to die for. The restaurant was clean and family friendly. I would recommend this to anyone and will definitely be coming back again. I always have a good experience here. You HAVE to go.

We have visited Longhorn a couple times and haven't been pleased. As a steakhouse your specialty should be steak. Our entire family ordered steak and every one of them was cooked very well on the outside and bloody rare on the inside. They were all ordered medium and we asked that they put them back on the grill for a bit so they were not rare. They didn't come back any better. We ended up taking them to go and throwing them away later because we felt bad for the waitress, it was obvious she felt terrible and it wasn't her fault. After that visit we didn't come back for awhile. The other night we visited with some friends and we settled for a couple burgers. They were decent, cooked well, could of used some seasoning. Overall the second time wasn't a bad visit. I would recommend not ordering steak if your here, our friends ordered a chicken dish that looked great. If you want a good steak I would look elsewhere unfortunately.

Had the 3-pepper ribeye medium rare, with a loaded baked potato and went with the caesar salad and had a glass of the cheapest pinot noir. No complaints about the food here, the ribeye was cooked perfectly and the wine was still good. Aside from the food though, my menu had what seemed to be butter smeared between the two middle pages making them stick together, and bread crumbs collected in the binding. Not really a big deal to me, but it wouldn't hurt for staff to check the menus quickly when they take them back from diners.

Fun place! I was most impressed with the ambiance. It was very clean. The staff was constantly busy busing tables, seating guests, and taking orders. Never once did I see an idle worker. In fact I was surprised they were going as strong at 8:30 at night! The food was good. Kids, of course, had kid meals. Wife and I ordered steaks. I was most impressed with my daughter's cheeseburger. Wow! It was very flavorful. A bit on the high side ($2.79 for one soda) (53.00 for two adults and two kids), but it was good food.

Tonight was not a good night to celebrate my birthday. Mom's meat was too rare and when she sent it back for a little heat, then she couldn't cut or chew it. I ordered the new chicken fried steak and it was greasy and gravy was bland. Manager tried to make it up with free dessert but I already had my birthday coupon so that was wasted. Usually this place beats every steak house but tonight was a bust. Won't be back for awhile.

Visited over the weekend with a large family group including children. I called ahead and we were seated very promptly when we arrived. The staff were quick, kind, and attentive. As for the atmosphere I would give 5 stars. It was clean and music was just right. As for the service and food is why I rate 2 stars. The young lady that greeted us was very kind and started our visit off great. Our waitress after taking our drink order seemed to not care. Didn't ask if food was good or cooked correctly. If she had asked she would have known 2 items were undercooked. My husband got a steak that came with bacon and an over easy egg on top. However the egg was NOT over easy but more like undercooked sunny side up. I got the salmon and only half of it was full cooked. The 'secret' marinade left much to be desired! The waitress asked if wanted desert and when we said no thanks she handed us the check. She did not ask if we wanted boxes, which we had to ask someone else to get for us. Then on the bottom of the receipt there is a 'suggested tip amount'. That to us is rude. A server does not get a good tip just because but it is earned. Just be glad you get a tip. This is was a rare occasion we eat out, and now remember why. Awful experience!

We have always enjoyed our experiences at Longhorn Steakhouse and tonight was no different. After a short wait we were seated and our server began taking care of us. He was an excellent, attentive server. We were enjoying our food and conversation when our steaks arrived. When the server who brought the steaks asked us to cut into them we noted they were overdone but said we would be fine. She still informed a manager anyway. The manager came over and apologized for the mistake and offered to reorder the steaks. My wife said she was ok with hers but mine was very well done when it was supposed to be medium rare and I accepted her offer. She promptly reordered the steak and shortly she brought a porterhouse probably several ounces larger than my original one and cooked perfectly. It was splendid. If that was not enough, our server brought us a dessert sampler after we were done, on the house, and then the manager took my steak off the bill. This was all unexpected and blew our mind. It has been a long time since we have experienced this level of customer service. All that to say, the food was excellent and service even better. We love our visits to Longhorn and will be back again in the near future. I highly recommend this restaurant to any steak lovers out there!

While on a road trip across 8 states in 9 days, we tried to avoid the chain type places for most of the trip. Very tired one night after just making it to Wichita, we decided to give up our rule and go to Long Horn. For being a chain with as many locations, I had never been. We were engaged in friendly conversation with out waitress and made to feel right at home. The food was amazing and one of the best meals we enjoyed the entire trip! We'll never forget leaving a "Happy Plate" at the Long Horn Steakhouse in Wichita!

Great steak place with a good variety of sides. Always recommend the Wild West shrimp- lightly fried, a mild spice, and lots of them! You may get a steak cooked outside of your liking but the staff usually makes good and fixes a new one.

I have gone to this restaurant 3 times. Twice, I have refused my meal and walked out. The 3rd time, I was with a group of people. My order has never been right, and I order directly off the menu. Last visit - I ordered unsweetened tea, ribeye - medium rare with no lemon butter on the steak, baked potato with butter and sour cream, no chives, house salad with 1000 island dressing. What I received - sweet tea, no bread, dressing on salad was rotten (you could smell it was rotten). Waiter copped an attitude, said I ordered sweet tea (I am diabetic), argued about the bread. I asked for a ceasar salad replacement, and replacement unsweetened tea. A different server brought my steak - covered in lemon butter, only sour cream and CHIVES on the potato. Still no bread, no tea, and no salad. I had to walk up to the bar and wait 8 minutes to talk to the manager. But all of the wait staff was having a great time laughing in the kitchen. The manager didn't offer to fix the meal, she offered me gift certificates to pay for the meal.

Visited Longhorn alone during a business trip. Found the waitress to be almost disrespectful as though It may have been a bother for her to wait on me. Food was decent but took forever to be served. No follow up to ask for drink refill and I had to ask another waitress for bread as she was passing by. Still waiting for my check after finishing 15 minutes ago. This sucks! I will say however that I forgot my credit card when I left. I returned today and found that the credit card was still there. The manager was more than helpful and was very nice. I'm going to chalk it up to one bad waitress who made the entire evening a bad experience.

Food was good. Service was terrible... We made reservations for 25 and they only had two waiters who were not very apologetic about the long wait. The food was cold but the soup was very hot, like they had been sitting there for a while!

Failed on many levels. Dirty silverware wrapped on table, then a big green leaf stuck to a fork that was presented on a dessert plate. Server was barely present, and dishes piled up on our table from each item. I ordered the sirloin medium rare. I was not expecting the most juicy and tender cut, but I did hope to be able to chew through it. The manager agreed that this is a terrible steak and comp'd it, although I still wonder why a steakhouse would even offer a steak they know is terrible. Overall not a great experience.

My husband was in the mood for a good steak so we came here. We were a little hesitant at first cause of the reviews. But I'm glad we came. Our waitress was tyisha she was really nice. At first she was a little slow to come to our table. But that was alright gave us time to look at the menu. I order the chicken porteblla with side salad and sweet potatoe and my husband of course got a steak with grilled corn and their mac and cheese. I was exspecting to have to wait for a bit for the food to come out. But it came really fast and it was delicious! My chicken was cooked perfectly and my husband steak was tender and juicy! Our waitress brought us refills without even asking wish is a plus for me. Thats my biggest pet pev is the refills! The whole experience was great and we will defiantly be back!

We were there at 5 minutes to 6pm friday july 12. There were twenty people waiting to be seated. I counted 12 empty tables and more people were leaving. There were seven people hovering around the receptionist laughing and watching. That included what seemed to be the manager. They all had ear pieces. Front of house. They would have been fired from Restaurant Impossible. Twenty minutes to be seated. Stupid. They we moseying along with no clue and could care less. This is training. Many people including my wife were having trouble standing during the wait as there were not enough seats. At no time were the tables full yet there were still people waiting when we left. Hate to see what would happen if they really were busy. Wait staff was good and efficient, working hard. Food was so so. Wife had 18 oz rib eye. Good flavor, ok meat. I had ribs, meat was good but sauce was way too vinegary. I included the picture of the resteraunt from our table

The three star rating is pretty unfair if you are a foodie and don't really care about service. So here's how I came to this rating: Food 4, service 1. My brother, his friend and I were all looking for a lunch after Woofstock here in town. Longhorns had just opened out east, and so we decided that we'd give it a run. The staff greeted us and she seemed hesitant on where to seat us. Finally seating us in the booths near the bar, we grabbed the menus and looked over the options. It was 3 pm. on a Saturday with a ratio of approximately 1 server per every 2 tables. Then we sat and chatted for a bit. Then we looked at the menu and saw if we were going to change our decisions again. Then after about ten minutes of me trying to catch every server by the eye in hopes one of them may be ours, our server arrived. She insisted on calling a table of 30+ year old men boys the whole time we were there. Oh yeah and did I mention it was 3 pm on a Saturday. She got our drink order, and we received that after a few minutes. We placed our orders, I got the cowboy breakfast sirloin or something like that. It was a sirloin, sunny side up egg and bacon all on top of the steak. Sounds delicious! My dinner showed up and it was delicious. The steak was well seasoned, the bacon added the zing and the eggs added the balance to the overall flavor. Forget A-1, this was great!. I would have loved to tell the server this, but by the time she came to check on us, my beer was on empty and my steak was reduced to one bite. For me this is a huge service issue, especially at a steakhouse. Proper procedure when I was managing restaurants was to give the person the food, then come back and check on the table once they have had a few bites. At a steak house, I expect the person bringing me the food to ask me to cut into it to ensure it's cooked to my specifications. Staggered services or not, if I had an issue with the food, I wouldn't have been able to tell my server because she left us and disappeared. I briefly saw her doing some prep work for the evening behind the bar on this one. I honestly expected better service from a restaurant that was touted to me as an upscale Texas Roadhouse. I can comfortably say that for my money, Texas Roadhouse wins out any day of the week.

Hoping to experience awesome food and attentive service from this new restaurant in my neighborhood, I was let down. The shrimp cocktail was mushy, my lobster tail was cold and chewy. I realize this is a new restaurant but the server was not knowledgeable about the menu on several items. Overall, not thrilled yet! I may give them one more chance, because of convenient location..

I am a big fan of the Longhorn chain, first had it in Topeka, KS and was super excited when they opened up here in Wichita. They have fantastic steaks but it is the French Onion Soup and the Chocolate Stampede Cake that brings me back every time. This time I ordered the Soup and 1/2 Sandwich (French Onion and Shaved Steak.) It was delicious! The one issue I had was how long it took to prepare and serve our meal, almost 30 minutes, but it was worth the wait.

Business was good at the Longhorn last night. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated which wasn't bad. The service was good and the food was perfect. I had the steak &lobster; my husband had the KC strip. The food was very tasty, with no complaints. We will return.

My first visit to Longhorn... The service was great. We actually got a "trainee" waitress and she was a little nervous, but warmed up and did a great job. Her "trainer" seemed a little overbearing. We ordered the filet and lobster, and the steak was actually really good, the lobster a little undercooked. Someone recommended that we get the calamari, so we did, it came with breaded red bell peppers and there seemed to be more of them than calamari! it was just small rings of calamari and consisted mostly of the breading, I wouldn't recommend it. My husband tried a cup of the shrimp/lobster chowder, which sounded amazing, he did consume it all before I realized that I didn't get to try it, but he commented that it was rather "fishy". On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give Longhorn an 7.

"Well, he ordered it. He should know what medium means" -The manager, whose money quote comes later in this review. Ah, Longhorn.. you're very consistent, but for all the wrong reasons. I'm not sure what it is about this chain, but for whatever reason, I've never had a visit to either this location or the one on the west side of town where there hasn't been something I've had to send back or correct. Why come back? Some people enjoy gambling at casinos, I enjoy using my dollars to see if maybe there have been improvements at places I've had issues before. I've sworn off Longhorn as a result of the latest visit. My wife and I were seated fairly promptly as it was later in the evening. We waited a while before our server came, though this was understandable: the place was short-staffed and he was both the waiter and bartender for the sole customer at the bar at the time. We were fairly relaxed and then he made it over to get us started. Eventually, he made it back to take our orders: Ribeye for the wife and Sirloin for myself - medium well for both. About 20 minutes later, after finishing our soups, the order came and looked great. A cut into the meal later showed that while her choice fared well, I ended up with a medium-rare piece rather than what I ordered. I simply asked the waiter to take it back and cook it a bit longer, which he obliged. He was followed quickly by the manager who apologized and offered some additional steak fries while I waited. Cool beans, right? As both walked back through the bar and on to the kitchen, that was where the "money quote" came in. If you're going to make snarky comments about the customers, you may want to shoot for doing it outside of the sight and hearing range of the customer. The meat returned actually closer to well this time so I figured it was a draw. It was flavorful, but eh. The snark sort of dampened the evening. The easiest way to prevent it from happening again is to simply ensure it doesn't. Adios Longhorn!

This review is not for the food, but rather for the hosts. We called in for call ahead seating at 6:30 on a Saturday night. When we arrived, we were told 20 minutes. A number of parties were seated ahead of us, and after 45 minutes, we told them we were leaving because we called in nearly 2 hours ago, at which point the host said "you did not". Ok. Thats ridiculous.

I've been to a Longhorn near Miami that was horrid service, and even worse food. This is the polar opposite of that, with flawless service and perfectly prepared food. Out of the last 20 or so steak places I've been to, including independent fancy pants venues, this was the first one that was actually capable of cooking a steak to desired temp instead of the usual dice roll where it could be anything from well done to rare if you simply order "medium". At this location, you order medium, and you shall receive medium! Rejoice!! 5 Stars, would definitely return.

Tried the new chili cheese fries. Was not a fan. Very under seasoned fries and chili tasted watered down... :-/ For the meal I had the longhorn chicken sandwich and it was not bad but not something I would put on my favorite list. On a bright note, service was great. Very friendly. Manager heard about how my family and I did not care for the appetizer. He took it off our bill. I really appreciate good service :D
