I had the Angus Burger today for lunch. Said its a Char-grilled to juicy perfection. OK it was charred alright, NOT at all juicy. The burger in fact just plain out SUCKED. Service was exellent, prices not bad but for a crappy non juicy burger -NOT. I won't be going to Heroes to eat anymore. I really though they had good burgers, but I am mistaken. I ate it anyways. The night life, well its just packed and loud, but if you like alot of drunk people in your way, well there you go. Thats Olde Towne.

if you like the smell of vomit, ck1, and steroids.... this is the perfect place for you. dont like good customer service? what are you waiting for? come on down to heroes in old town! where everyone you hated from high school hangs out! except now they're about 50 pounds heavier. ive tired multiple times to give this place a chance. im not really sure why though. its your typical generic sports bar, with boring tasteless food. its just my crummy luck i guess, that i get the server that looks like she spends most of her time trying to figure out where the hell shes at. if you ever feel bad about yourself, just take a trip to heros. sports, brah.

Great place when I visit for business. Food is cheap and the beer is cold. Loaded Nachos are really really good. Soooo many TV's all around...great for watching the game.

Sports bars are a way for business owners to play it safe: Dive bars are too uninviting. Clubs have their niche but can't make money on food (see: Doc Howard's) Lounges just sound lazy. Tiki bars are too gaudy. But the sports bar has something for everyone, because even if you don't like the atmosphere, there's a surplus of televisions to entertain you until your friends are ready to leave. It's certainly the bar of choice of Old Town, and it's a location where one can expect to find at least something to eat. I came to Heroes for two things: pizza and the sweet pepper bacon. The SPB seems to be the food on which Heroes hangs its hat, and it was a smart decision - bacon by itself is pretty great, and what better way to improve on greatness than to candy it and give it a bit of kick from some black pepper? They even sell it by the pound, for crissakes. Of course, I'm someone who places a lot of emphasis on crust, so at first glance the thin crust looked like something I could literally sink my teeth into. The combination of the weight of toppings and the choice of flour didn't make it as thin or crispy as I would have liked. The outer crust had an odd texture - it was familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I thought hard about what it reminded me of (overcooked onion ring, an Oreo, some type of biscotti, but it was a bit dense and brittle. The cheese was a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar, which I prefer, but it wasn't overall too different from the other pies I've eaten around here. What did make it better, however, was that sweet pepper bacon, which - when combined with jalapeños - gave me sweet, savory, salty, and spicy - a pretty well-rounded pizza, all things considered. It just goes to show that as much as bacon's awesomeness has been overblown in the popular media, it can still be used to elevate whatever dish in which it's found.

Hadn't been in Heroes for awhile, so stopped in to meet up with old friends. Had a pretty good time. It's only gotten louder inside so we went out on the patio. Those heaters are the shit. We bailed at about 1245 as it was starting to get crowded. The service was also great.

Heroes... They have all the bar food standards. Hamburgers, sandwiches, etc, and even a couple of salads. Their food is mediocre (at best), and overpriced. I had a burger and fries last time I was in and the fries were nasty. I ended up feeding them to my dog who didn't even want them. So I left half of the nasty fries, and ate my crappy semi warm $10 burger. I think this place stays open specifically because it is a sports bar. Sports fans go in with friends have a couple over priced domestic draws and watch the game. By the end of the game you're a little tipsy and hungry and even crappy food tastes great. I hear their commercials on the radio and it really makes me laugh. "Come to Heroes for great food..." I put this place in the same category as IHOP and Dennys. The "I had better be drunk" category. .

I've been aware of Heroes for years. Just thought it was a bro bar. But I went by recently after hearing they have great burgers and it turns out they really do have a pretty good menu. The server acted inconvenienced and annoyed to help us but everything else was great. Started off with some amazing Jalapeño Corn Fritters. I have never had corn fritters before but I am definitely a fan now if they all usually taste like this. Crunchy breaded outsides and creamy delicious filling, mmmm!! I decided to go for their signature best seller Sweet Pepper Bacon Cheeseburger. Topped with melted Cheddar cheese and two mouth-watering strips of Sweet Pepper Bacon. The bacon definitely took this burger to the next level. I've never had any bacon quite like this. Their bacon is so popular that you can buy it by the pound to take home.

I was in from out of town and headed to Heroes Sports Bar & Grill for some cold beer before a flight out of town and really wasn't disappointed. This place looks like it's set up for some serious crowds, but fortunately all we had to contend with were some people on the patio hanging out before their high school graduation. The service was good, the beers were cold, and I even got a free Guinness glass with my pint of Guinness! Not bad! The spinach and artichoke dip was fantastic! There did seem to be way too many chips/pitas for how much dip was there, but that wasn't a problem at all. I can't speak to the nightlife here, but on a hot summer day, some cold beer and sunshine was exactly what I needed, and I found it.

If you can get past the smell of vomit and redbull, then this is the place to go. I was told the owners changed out the carpet a few months ago, so I decided to try Heroes again. Sure enough the smell was gone! Then I returned for Halloween night, and the smell was back. It wasn't as strong as before the carpet change, but there was definitely a lingering odor. Ok, so on to the good stuff. The drinks are cheap, there's always a crowd (if you like a crowd), and you can dance. The only bad part about that is, the dance area is about 10'x10' and is located right next to the speakers. So, if you do decide to dance, you will leave with that nagging ringing in your ears for the rest of the night.

Heroes is where Affliction and Ed Hardy go to die. Waiting in line for entry here is a joke, don't ever do it: you'll eventually get in, but you'll regret it immediately. The food is sub-par: the burger meat is gray-ish for reference, the layout is awkward, the dance floor is in the way, and the music is bad (but at least it's too loud). Heroes reminds me of a quote I heard once, "People who don't know what they like, like chicken." It's like that, except in bar form. To be fair there are some pretty cool things about Heroes: 1) Sometimes they have $5 Shiner Bock Pitchers 2) NTN Quiz game setup 3) When the boys use the urinal (on the 2nd floor), they can see most of the bar through one way glass.

They have done a very good job with all the updates they've been working on. TVs, updated decor, menu, etc. I think their menu is a nice balance between sports bar and dine-in dining. My favorite is their Gouda and Citrus salad. Delish! I'm also a fan of their wide variety of beers. I'm not a domestic sort of girl, so having options is definitely a plus. They've come a long way and I'm looking forward to seeing how they continue to progress!

Having been to Heroes several times now, I can say that I like the place a lot more than I did a few years ago. I think getting to know more people who live in town and like to go there has helped with that. It's still not in my top favorites, but it's growing on me :-) The place is pretty big, and during the day, has a pretty good restaurant, and they still have trivia there, which I remember playing a lot of in high school, so that's a plus. The food selection is good, and the prices are decent. I like their appetizer combo and their various burgers best. At night, the crowd can get fairly...interesting. I have had more fun the past few times I've gone, and I'm getting more familiar with the layout, which definitely helps get past the front, where the dance area and bar are. It's never ridiculously crowded, which is nice, because you don't have to wait terribly long for service. I think that's because they often implement a one-in-one-out policy on weekends. I've never had to wait too long in line though. Overall, the place is pretty much what you would expect for a sports bar, plus the dance floor, which I tend to avoid lately (sad, I know). I'll probably be going back more often through the rest of the summer.

I didn't find anything that appealing. I had to wait to get in. I ordered two drinks that cost $6 or less everywhere else in town and was told it would be $18, since I only had a $20 I felt like a cheapskate only tipping $2. Way too expensive for me. Its a regular sports bar except filled with too many people.

I have been going to Hero's every a Thursday night for almost a year for their BOGO 1/2 price burgers (they don't offer this special anymore). The past 3 weeks we have had the worst service. Slow to acknowledge us, slow to get our drinks, had to flag someone down to take our meal order because our waitress never came back. Then when the burgers come they are brown on the outside but red and cold on the inside, gross! Don't know how to mix common drinks such margaritas or rum and coke. Waited over 15 minutes with all our plates and such stacked at the end of the table, obviously signaling we are finished, before I got up to ask another waitress if we could get our check. On top of the horrible service the past few weeks they have been opening their large garage door to the patio which let's in all the cigarette smoke so it's like you are sitting in a smoking restaurant. The service has been consistently poor and we won't be going back again.

I actually really like heroes. I didn't think I would but I do. The burgers are pretty good and $5 on Thursdays with beer specials to boot. They have very good nachos, good salsa, and good ranch to dip your fries in. As per usual in Wichita, sit at the bar for good service.

Went in for dinner. Service was ok.. Took her forever to come fill up my water, or ask how I'm doing. She was nice still.. BEST burger of my life!! This can be an issue when I move and have local access! The burger was sweet maple bacon, hardly had any fat or grease and had such moist flavor. Don't know how they season it, but fresh beef is amazing in Kansas! The bun was a semi sweet one. Light tasting. Didn't really touch fries..

Ehhh. Had the fish sliders which were barely okay. Another time, I had the chicken fried steak which was so salty that it was inedible. I think I'll stick to the beer from now on. I've only been three times, so I may adjust the number of stars in this review in the future.

Spent awhile on the covered patio on an early Friday afternoon. Average food, and good service; the waitress was brutally honest about what the best choices were to order; apparently, she's had to take the bierocks back more often than they stay on the table. Inside looked pretty dark for an afternoon. Looked like the staff outnumbered the customers 8 to 2. Not a lot to say....average average average.

We eat here fairly often and they rarely disappoint. Hot food on a cold night in front of the game on the big screen. Tonight, the service was attentive, the burgers were perfectly cooked, and they let us use a coupon that had recently expired. Great nightly specials and a good atmosphere for a sports bar. We'll definitely be back!

The BF and I stopped by Heroes before the hockey game last Saturday. The interior has changed since the last time I was there, and I really liked the new decor. We sat ourselves and the server was prompt in taking a drink order. We started with the fried pickles. I wasn't a huge fan of the breading. It was rather thick and not quite as crunchy as I would have liked. The side dipping sauce, however, was very good. Spicy and thick, it would make a great salad dressing. For our entree, we split the Turkey Panini, also known as 'the mick'. This was as generic as they come. We ordered the waffle fries on the side, which was a great decision. They had good drinks specials, and the server understood we would be in a hurry to leave, so she made sure to bring us the check early. This would be a great after work happy hour, but I don't know if I'd come back just for the dining experience.

Was visiting relatives and it was suggested we eat here because "they have something for everyone." The menu is OK - standard Sports Bar fare, from salads to burgers to individual pizzas - but the food was really quite bad. Appetizer plate - a pile of french fries, onion rings, some overcooked mozzarella sticks and fried chicken bits. Hamburger - I only ate half of mine (and I was hungry). Odd taste and texture to the burgers. Salad - "grim," according to my wife. Plus, the place was dirty, and kitchen slow. The only good thing - we had a great waitress, who kept refilling our soft drinks before we even noticed. I'll never be back.
