Saturday is steak night and they are great. However, the dessert bar falls way short of good. Two chocolate fountains not working. Hot pie slices are cold. And generally unappetizing presentation of the desserts. It was messy.

I've honestly never been disappointed. Food is always hot, and breakfast is pretty good too

Breathtakingly bad. This place didn't used to be so horrible. I just paid $15 for the worst dinner I've ever had in my life. I've eaten here in the past and it was much better, but recently the prices of gone up in the food quality has gone down. I don't mind paying $15 for dinner, but I would expect some sort of decent quality for a price like that. This food was just terrible. I've eaten at other buffets that were less expensive and had dramatically better food. This last visit was the last straw for me.

I have been too many golden corrals and I believe this is the most poorly ran one ever the food selection was very limited and the place was not that clean don't think I'll be back to this one again

I have now visited this Golden Corral for the 3rd time. Twice for Lunch and once for Dinner. I will say that since I primarily go just for the Salad Bar -- it's a little pricey. But that's my choice and I usually get a piece of Fried Chicken. My Husband also commented on the price. He's not a big eater, so it's not a place that he would ever choose. But last weekend we met 7 of our Cousins there for Dinner and I will say that they truly got their money's worth! The Servers were very attentive and refilled everyone's beverages repeatedly. What I noticed was that they had a nicer selection during Dinner. I actually got a Chicken Breast, instead of the usual thigh that I end up with. The Salad Bar had Watermelon Slices and Fresh Strawberries -- which I have never seen at Lunch. A couple of people got Steak and both were saying that it was very good. Meat Loaf seemed popular with their mashed potatoes and gravy. One person got a Baked Potato and decked it out with all kinds of toppings. I noticed Pizza and Pasta and a small Asian Food area. There was also some selections of Mexican Food. I didn't try any of them, but they looked pretty good. The last time I went there on a Tuesday for Lunch and it was apparently Senior Citizen Day or something and it was an absolute ZOO!! I felt so sorry for the Servers. They couldn't clean the tables fast enough for the amount of people that kept coming through the door!! And the Server was attempting to refill drinks, but he was so busy just clearing tables that people were starting to grumble a little. Then left without tipping the poor guy!!

I was in the mood for a steak, but the restaurants I usually go to close mid-afternoon on Sundays. I remembered that Golden Corral has a steak section...and everything else you can think of so I stopped in. They were serving sirloin and it was pretty good. Small portions but you can go back as often as you like. The first one I got was dry because it was cooked to well done. I think that well done is the default if they are cooking several to have ready and customers don't ask for rare to medium, etc. I sat within sight of the grill and when they put some more steaks on I waited a bit and then went up and asked for a rare steak. The chef told me it would be about two minutes. It was about medium rare when he served it to me (which is sort of what I expected) and it was delicious. I don't like to put anything on my steak and just let the juices accent the meat. I got a couple more portions before finishing. They had some pot roast and I tried a few bites worth. Tasted good...but dry, dry, dry. They had some popcorn shrimp with cocktail sauce. I had a couple of onion rings, some mushrooms, a bit of potato salad...and I was full. So full that I didn't even check out the full array of deserts on display. Everything was good. I could have had some slices of ham, meat loaf, pizza or a couple varieties of chicken. They also had a Mexican bar where you could build your own tacos or taco salad. Lots of variety. Also lots of options at the regular salad bar. They had enough meat options that you could build a chef salad. Just about everything you can think of was available...with one noticeable exception. This is the first buffet in my memory that didn't have baked fish available. I always make room for baked fish, but there just wasn't any. I go to a buffet about twice each year and always come away full and satisfied. This is a good one...the employees often had smiles on their faces as they worked together. If you like people watching, this buffet draws in a range of people in (literally) all shapes and sizes. You won't be bored.

I have been to golden corrals all over the country and have never really been disappointed. Until now. Sometimes things aren't fresh or they have momentarily run out of an item. But, its a buffet so there's always something else to eat. I normally hit one up while traveling because it's quick, easy and convenient. Skip this one at all costs. I would eat my tongue before going back. I only ate a couple bites so I really don't have the energy to write about everything that was wrong. Now I know what you are thinking, one bad experience, it will be better when I go, etc. just don't do it. I'll eat at Golden Corral again just not this one.

Bless me yelpers, for I have sinned, by not only eating at a AYCE buffet, but then REVIEWING it publicly. And really, it's not that bad, if you avoid most of the "beef-like substances" they pass off on the lunch buffet. Despite my best efforts, I wasn't able to try everything on the buffet, but overall there were more hits than misses. Working from left to right on your buffet dial: Salad bar, nice selection of prepared salads and salad fixings. It is rather strung out across a series of salad stations, so assembling a salad takes some planning. Had some excellent fried catfish, and some passable baked fish, which was lacking in flavor. Great fried okra and onion rings when they're hot and crisp. The Chinese station was largely forgettable - the spring rolls were greasy and unremarkable, the stir fries pedestrian. I skipped the Mexican food bar this time - it's largely assemble-your-own tacos and enchiladas, with accompaniments. I've had them before, there are better Mexican food options elsewhere. In the grill area, obvious at lunch time they're not going to serve the primo meat, but today they were serving grilled boneless pork steak, some killer hot wings, and some pillowy-tender pot roast in gravy. Skipped over the meat loaf, sampled a great italian meatball in sauce, and had a nice and juicy fried chicken breast (chicken legs seem in short supply, but if you like chicken breast, you can certainly get your money's worth - they're HUGE!). Most of the side vegetables (broccoli, carrots, green beans, etc.) are standard, but the mashed potatoes are real (with lumps!) I tried to avoid the desserts, but sampled a decent banana pudding and a decent black-and-white layer cake. Generally, I skip the desserts, but banana pudding is a buffet weakness of mine. The "table attendant" who is now only responsible for re-filling your drink and offering a fresh-baked roll with honey butter (yeah, I know what they're doing - fill you up with bread...) was friendly and attentive. In times past, when the attendant used to bring you clean plates, it was sometimes difficult to get their attention, but today he was stopping by every few minutes. Overall, we left happy and full and satisfied that we had truly got our money's worth, and it's likely I can safely skip dinner tonight.
