We happened across this place due to the Bonefish being closed for lunch. What a find! Great atmosphere and the food is top notch in quality. Our waitress Tabitha is FANTASTIC! Topped it all off with one of the best carrot cakes we've ever tasted! Definitely will be back!

The ribeye was the most perfectly cooked an delicious steak I've ever had. The onto reason they don't get 5 stars is because our server was sub par

A girlfriend and I went there Monday evening for dinner. It was fairly busy for it being a Monday but we were seated instantly that's to having a reservation. While looking over the menus we both ordered a drink, I tried the Double black diamond martini and my friend had the flirtini. The double black comes out in a shaker for the bartender to pour at the table, the poor girl they sent admitted that this was her first time and she couldn't figure out how to open the shaker. She tried one pour and it ended up pouring my drink on the table, she promptly quit and went to ask for help. Her second attempt was much better. We ordered the queso lobster dip and it was amazing. My friend isn't big on seafood and even she liked it! Shortly after we ordered our meals a manager approached the table, sadly the meal I had ordered they were out of the sauce, so he recommended something off the lunch menu that is basically the same. He said that he could let the kitchen cook it this time for dinner for me. I thought that was wonderful, I could have easily picked another meal. Our food took awhile to come out (frankly we didn't care we were talking and enjoying our appetizer and drinks!), but when it came out it was all amazing! Our waiter and the manager apologized multiple times for all the mixups. So long story, they were truly professional with everything that happened and I can't wait to visit again!!!

Stopped in here while driving through Wichita and was surprised at the good food and quality of service. I had a Caesar salad (they added anchovies for me) and prime rib. I eat prime rib somewhat frequently and this one was perfectly cooked - definitely the highlight of the meal. Paired it with the house red wine, which is a Cabernet / Merlot blend, and it was a great evening meal.

By no means a cheap a place but not an issue and the menu has lots of choices. I went with a grilled tender loin salad which was $15.95. My sever brought my drink very quickly and left a giant loaf of bread. A large group of ladies next to me just finished their and were very satisfied which is a great sign. I was in the mood for a soup but the choices were not anything close to healthy. Again not a problem. The salad just came out and the beef was cooked to perfection and the salad while a little on the small side was nice. The service is outstanding and I would recommend this place if your ever in Kansas.

First time there the wait was 25 minutes. I heard that wait time wasn't as bad on some Saturday nights, but I was starving! I filled myself up with their complimentary bread with butter before I got my entree. I got Aspen Sirloin (medium rare) and it was good but it's shaped like a thick Eclair pastry, Its more of a rare than medium rare so get medium if you plan on getting that. I was just hungry so I ate it ....But that White Sangria though!

It's hard to believe that they've been open for such a short amount of time. Most restaurants that are just getting off the ground, chain or otherwise, seem to have kinks to work out. Not here surprisingly enough. On my first visit, my girlfriend and I didn't have to wait. Call it luck or good timing or whatever, but that was the first good sign. Once inside, the place's ambiance and din of conversation was yet another. The lighting and color tones are ideal for a restaurant like this and it was really nice to see that the layout allowed for more freedom of movement. It's not cramped like other restaurants but still has somewhat of an intimate feel. Once we were seated, our server was pretty quick about getting our order situated. We passed on the appetizer and skipped ahead to ordering our entrees: Prime Rib for her, 12 oz. Sirloin for myself. Side salad was the spinach salad and it was better than I expected. In all honesty, the entrees themselves were not a re-invention of anything, but they were done well. This is a theme that seems to appear a few times at this place. My steak was prepared as requested (sadly, based on service at a number of restaurants in our fair city, this is not as consistent as you'd think) and the side order of the parmesan mashed potatoes was clearly the best choice of the night. Also had the green beans w/ pecans which were decent. The piece of prime rib I sampled also seemed to be handled well, especially with the au jus that was provided. From here, we had a dessert that was shared - the Big Daddy Chocolate Cake. It was good, but there was something about it that was just a bit off. I think it may have been the fact that while it tasted just fine, there wasn't anything special about it since you can basically get the same item at a ton of other restaurants for a bit cheaper. It provided a nice ending to the meal though. All things considered, when she said this is on our "list" for date-night eateries from the first five minutes in the place, I had to agree. As I said before, it's nothing revolutionary, but it is somewhat upmarket and what is done here is done quite well.

We stopped in after getting our room at the Homestead. Good food, I had the Durango burger, my hunny had the wings and fries. Edwin, the bartender, made some really good Margaritas and peach daiquiris. The margaritas were $10 a piece, a little pricey in my opinion, but delicious! I would definitely go there again.

I have been here for dinner several times and it's definitely my favorite place in Wichita for fine dining. The ahi tuna appetizer is fabulous, followed closely by the lobster queso. This is one of the few places I know that does a great job of salmon, which I love...although my husband and friends love the steak. They also do an amazing fried spinach - imagine light crispy spinach leaves the texture of chips. Perfect finish is the creme brûlée cheesecake - to die for!!

Completely disappointing. The waiter did not know anything about the menu. Overpriced dry burger, served with an underwhelming slaw. We would have been better if going to Red Robin across the parking lot. My friend ordered a salad which also was nothing special. Or drinks were not refilled and the restaurant was not that busy. I Don't mind paying more if the food quality and/or creativity is there. Can't imagine this place will stay in business with so many better options nearby

Hostess forgot about us, service was terrible and the food did not resemble the description on the menu and very pricey - save your money!

On the east side... Decided to try Firebird's over Red Robin... They start you out with some fresh, warm, crusty bread and butter. Also started off with a cup of chicken tortilla soup, very tasty, topped with cilantro, fried tortilla strips, and sour cream. Decided to go with the "Prime Rib" sandwich. Not prime rib, but still nice. The au jus was a little watered down, but the fries were fresh, hot, and well seasoned. The food did take about 35 minutes to arrive when there was only 5 tables, which make me consider not going when they have any type of business. The service was good but not very knowledgable, couldn't describe any dish we asked about.

Well, this place gets an extra star just for it's atmosphere. This place is pretty with it's natural stone and warm colors. Now onto the food. I had the trout and it was completely amazing. My sister had the sirloin/steak sandwich (it was the special) and she said it was good, her side was parmesan mashed potatoes but she said she didn't like the taste. My mom had the salmon and she said be careful because it was a bit spicy because of the ginger spice her sides were green beans and macaroni and cheese, she said the sides were ok. My side (with my trout dish) was their slaw mix and I thought it was great!!! Service was excellent although I think my sister was driving the waitress crazy because she is so damned picky ;)..... A tip: before I dined there, I went to their website and signed up for their club and they sent me a $10. coupon for my birthday and an additonal coupon for $10. off my next visit!!!

Came here 2 weeks ago and was great. Tonight the service sucked and even though I ordered exact same thing the quality was horrible. I had to send meal back cause didn't come out anything like I ordered. Lettuce was wilted and old. Horrible experience. Won't go back.

Had dinner here on their opening night and also a week later. I initially thought the exemplary service was just bc they had opened and were excited to make things gi smooth. However, on my return, the attention to detail and 5 star service was duplicated. I had the ribs both times and they are fall off the bone good. Also had a Caesar salad with chicken. Also very good. I am a very picky eater and ask a lot questions about oils used, ingredients in dishes, etc...and the waitress was not only accommodating, but super friendly and made some great suggestions. Ask for her...her name is Selina. About the best table service I may have ever had. I hope they know what they have in someone like Selina. She's a big part of why I will return.

Best atmosphere in Wichita hands down. Great food. Good service. Not the least expensive place to dine and usually very busy, but the wait on the weekends is worth it! App: Lobster Spinach Queso. Lunch: Can't go wrong with the Colorado Chicken Salad. Dinner: Filet or Sesame Encrusted Salmon. Drink: Double Black Diamond (pineapple infused vodka) and a robust wine list. Desert: All are amazing...unfortunately.

Went tonight to celebrate the coming New Year, shouldn't have. Horrible way to end a great year and will definitely not be returning. Appetizers were poor, obvious use of cheap ahi tuna, poorly cut and arranged. Tried the lobster queso, which was pretty much soup. Chips were undercooked and way too oily. Ordered medium rare sirloin for the main course, somehow a waitress manages to bring the wrong sirloin to the table. Manager comes by to inform of the wrong dish, took it back, but left the side dish to get cold. By the time the correct plate came, the side has gotten cold, and no one stayed to check to make sure the steak was the right temp. Cut into the steak to find that it was well done, no pink in sight. Waited around for a waitress, told her the problem. She took the steak away to bring back a different one. Waited fifteen minutes, boyfriend finished his meal, then the waitress came back and said two more minutes and I'll have the manager bring it by to make sure your steak is perfect. Waited 7 minutes. Manager is no where to be found, waitress comes back with plate. Cut into the sirloin and it was medium rare. Yay. At this point I'm angry, upset, and full from eating my side Mac and cheese, which sucked because it tastes pretty plain, not cheesy or green chile like. I asked for a box to take the food home. While waiting manager finally pops up to ask if everything is good now, in a very caring manner. Not. Was going to have dessert and coffee but did not feel like being further disappointed tonight. I have been here 2 times in the past, and honestly it was never impressive, but not horrible. If it weren't for the fact that other steak restaurants were booked we would have gone elsewhere. I much prefer outback. If you want good food go there for a cheaper price and better service. Spent 115 dollars tonight, and I must say biggest waste of money in a long time. I wouldn't give any stars at all but that's not an option. Will not be returning.

My husband said the meat on his steak kabob was very good, as we'll as the loaded baked potato. The veggies on the kabob were very undercooked. I got the "cilantro chicken." Not quite sure what was "cilantro" about the dish as there was one sprig on top off the chicken. Also the chicken was obviously frozen. Every thing tasted fine, there was a nice wait staff and atmosphere. However, for the price you pay, it's not worth it. Spend the few extra dollars & go up the street to Chester's.

Hands down the best food we have ever had at a place like this! I had the BLT salad(so good), cilantro grilled chicken (sauce was amazing) and the Parmesan mashed potatoes( great flavor but the texture was slightly off/instant potatoey). The service was great too. Fast and friendly. I highly recommend it.

Went there late one Friday night and it was delicious! The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable on her wines. She had a personal favorite Pinot Grigio there and it was not extremely overpriced and tasted excellent and refreshing. The food came elegantly dressed, this is a personal like, not for everyone, which always comes with a tag but these prices were a lot less than what you would expect in Seattle. In Seattle the same dinner would have cost $300.00. So great evening which was enhanced by a classy waitress.:)

Killer atmosphere. Relaxed pace. Good (but not great) food. 45-minute wait on a Friday night, which is typical for a new restaurant in Wichita. We found a place to sit by the fire while we waited and were offered drinks from the bar more than once by roaming wait staff. Once seated, the experience was pleasant. It felt like our server was deliberately taking her time - not that we were in a hurry, but it was noticeable in a slightly painful way. I would not describe her as chipper or even pleasant, but very neutral in her interactions. When asked, she produced a gluten free menu and I was not surprised to see that the only chicken entree was not included (must be the smoked tomato jack cheese sauce) so I ordered salmon, veggies and green beans. The salmon was okay but the veggies sorely needed some seasoning - really boring despite the candied pecans in the green beans. Or maybe I was just craving carbs and the scalloped potatoes next to me looked divine (I confirmed - they were). The guys both ordered the Chili Rubbed Delmonico, a cut of steak you rarely see on menus. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals just a bit more than me, which in the end is fine. I'm sure we'll be back and I'll try to get a chicken entree made gluten free.

I stumbled across this place today by accident and decided to give it a try. Before I went in, I checked Yelp for reviews and found none so I was a little apprehensive. I then discovered that the place is new and has only been open for 4 days. I ordered the Prime Rib which was outstanding. The wine selection is good and the service was excellent - I never went more than 5 minutes without someone stopping by to ask to top-off my drink. Will definitely be back on my next trip to Wichita.

Very cool atmosphere. Menu offerings are unique. However the food quality is nothing special. The prices are VERY high for the quality and quantity. Service was weak. My water glass was never refilled. I would say Id try it again, but the prices are so high I can't justify going back.

This is a pretty decent chain restaurant but nothing more. I did not try a steak as it was lunch time so maybe the steaks are phenomenal but the steaks did not seem to be aged based on the menu so I am guessing they are not. The service is very attentive but did not seem friendly or sincere. Drink refills are excessive and the server checks in with you like their life depends on it. I tried three lunch entrees. The Pecan crusted trout was fine. The old fashioned burger tasted exactly like Wendy's. I like Wendy's but I won't pay $15 for it. The fries are frozen and not even good ones. The entree that was actually mine was the French dip sandwich which they marked as their signature lunch dish. It was not on French bread as advertised and it did not have a lot of flavor. This is not a bad place but it is not great. If you want prompt service and a consistently average experience which I know some people do then you have found your new spot until another big chain comes to town.

A nice setting with overpriced food that doesn't impress. The bar, interior, and everything inside this place screams high end restaurant. The menu has some interesting items at high prices so your expectations are set high. Then the food comes out and the reaction is meh. It's not bad...it's just not memorable. The service was slow and a quick lunch lagged into a near hour long "experience." The staff has some serious learning to do but at the prices they are asking I doubt I will be back soon.

I've been here twice so far and both times I have enjoyed our meals. The first time was for dinner and I had the Kobe Beef Meatloaf. The portion was bigger than I thought it would be so I had plenty of leftovers. I loved the mushrooms that were on the meatloaf, too. My fiancé had the steak (I forgot which one) but I remember he asked to have it seasoned with cracked black pepper/peppercorn and I think that's what made it so flavorful. We're also fans of the BLT salad. I hate when restaurants don't put enough dressing on their salads, but this one was just right. For lunch, I had the lunch special which was a Pork Belly Burger. I loved it! My fiancé had the Durango Burger, and we weren't that impressed with that burger. We thought it was going to be spicy, but the pork belly burger had a better spice kick than the Durango. While the staff has been super friendly, I have noticed that both times, the food took some time to come out, but I assume that's because the establishment is still new.

The first thing I saw when I walked in, was a giant jar of vodka being infused with Pineapple...I knew I was going to love this place. For appetizers, we tried the loaded tots, and kobe beef rolls. Both were amazing. They have a decent beer selection on tap, plus happy hour specials daily.
(4)Eric M.
The bar is soooo slowwww. I am here waiting on my second drink. It takes about 30 mins per drink. The steak was great, but I enjoy wine with my meal, and Firebirds is slacking in that area. Other than that, the service is favorable, and when the wine does arrive, it's been chilled well.
(3)David W.
Food was OK. Service was great but the prices were much too steep for what was provided. It had somewhat of the feel of an overpriced sports bar. I was disappointed and won't be going back.
