I have a confession.... I managed to line up a full weeks worth of dates my first 9 days in Wichita...8 of them being with a different guy. Don't worry...No hanky panky...Just a strong attempt at avoiding depression and up-keeping my social life in a mid west city I've never lived in. I have another confession... 6 of those dates suggested we go here for either dinner, drinks or pool. I had to pretend to be surprised every time we walked thru the doors because they thought they were showing "the new girl in town" what the hot spots were in Wichita. Oh well. One last confession... The first pool table you see when you walk into the gaming area is the table where all of these poor dudes lost their pride and experienced hardcore defeat to yours truly. It's your typical "bar box" 7 footer which, for me, is a cake walk given I worked at a pool hall for 5 years and played on nothing but 9 footers. Does that make me a bad person? Oh wellsies. I've managed to win my dinner and drinks off of it. I guess I should talk about the actual place now, right? Service is a little on the pushy side. They've got decent looking chicks working there who try their best to keep your glass full but the timing of their intervals is off. They'll come 5 times in 15 minutes but then leave you hanging for 20. Tables are in decent shape. I've seen worse. The house cues are in surprisingly good condition. Some of them are glue on cap tips, others are actual tips. At least these cues HAVE tips. Looks like they've got a nice shuffleboard. It's always occupied though. The other night, my date and I were in there late and they started playing Mitch Hedberg over the PA system and the bigscreen. I think they won me over with that. I'll be returning!

When they dress the waitresses in referee-themed shirts, you know the restaurant is serious in its dedication towards being a sports bar. And while Frodo Baggin's seems like a fine place to spend with a large group of people, or enjoy the big game, as a burger place they have some work to do. Not that the place makes a bad burger, per se. In fact, I enjoyed the commitment to styles that the place shared, and the freshly-made fries is always a plus. Unfortunately, the burgers could use some work - the E.B. Burger - not named for the Charlotte's Web author - featured two 1/4 lb patties - the smaller patties used because of the claim that smaller patties can create the crispy caramelized corners, though such was not seen on my burger - topped with The Works, including a fried egg, but in the end the bun couldn't hold up to the sliding burger, forcing me to go fork and knife all over it, before finally giving up altogether. Another Wichita joint understands the importance of freshly-made fries, but unfortunately another Wichita joint fries them incorrectly, resulting in a soggy and limp fry that could have been a whole lot better. Emerson Biggin's is a kind of place that I could see myself spending a lot more time within, but between the mistakes in burger preparation and the lack of significant beer choices on tap, I don't know how enthusiastically I would return.

I went here once with a friend on a Saturday night, and I have no desire to go back. Its your typical downtown Wichita bar. Filled with drunken strangers looking to hook up with someone. In the course of a 3 or 4 hours We had been bumped into several times, hit on, and had a couple practically have sex next to us. So not a huge fan. When I go to a bar I like to be able to sit down, have a couple of drinks with my friends, who I would like to talk to. Not scream at over a jukebox, or be bumped into constantly by the one girl in the bar who is so tanked she can't stand up straight, slurring at the top of her lungs at her boyfriend who she's mad at. "That girl", There always seems to be one, and I'd like to maximize my distance away from that bunch of crazy as much as possible. Which strangely seems harder to do in larger bars like this.

I was in town for a week and went to this place by myself...twice. There was a good vibe and some local flavor. I didn't sample any food, so I couldn't tell you anything about it. Big fan of the 33oz beers though. Nothing like being able to tell people you are going out for "a couple" and having it mean 66oz of beer.

Not my favorite spot, but I will hang here if I have friends meeting here etc. It's a laid back bar with a mixed crowd of people. I do love their chicken tenders here...they might just be the best I've had!!!

We stopped in here for our last beer of the evening. Who knew it was going to be an enormous mug of beer that really counts as more than one beer? Decent sports bar, lots of rowdy college agers, bachelorette party, and extremely drunk people. Our waitress was cool though and I wish I could remember if she was a) hot and b) had some biggins. Sadly I was too tipsy from the first two bars to make a mental note of that but surely there are some biggins there for you to look at if you want.

Nice sport bar style in Old Town Wichita with WiFi connection. We came at lunch time on a Tuesday and the were not real busy but service was a little slow. Coffee was very plain and didn't offer creamer. The pizza was thin and crispy and tasted ok. Ordered a order of fries and they were homemade fries, came in a basket but was only half full. The fries were cooked crispy but were also ok. Over all I wasn't impressed with the service or food. The night life may be the big plus but I'm not checking that out have to say average and nothing special.

Biggin's Punch for $3 on Saturday? French Fries that rival the ones they serve at Ty's Diner? Chicken Strips that are good sober or drunk? Biggin's is the place to go for all these things! Oh and since the remodel, the bathrooms are no longer frightening. The beer on tap is ice cold, just like it should be. In fact, the girl working at the bar entertained us with stories of cracked mugs and frozen fingers from serving it like this.

Visited there on a Thursday evening. Lots of TV great service. Bartender was very friendly

I had never been to the Old Town location but decided to try it out for lunch this past week. This is now under the ownership of the same guy (Big Lou!) that has had Emerson Biggins West. The menu is exactly the same and so is the service. That's not a bad thing. Plenty of TV's to watch the big game and a swanky location in Old Town. I had the Roast Beast Sandwich - an excellent choice. Hot sandwich that was grilled on both sides and topped with fried red onions. I got mine with tater tots that happened to be some of the best I'd ever had. Emerson Biggins is and ought to be on the top of every Wichitan's favorite sports bars. If it isn't yet, head out there for a football game this fall and I think you might find a new favorite spot.

Maaaan, I worked here about 8 years ago right before I moved to California, I was back visiting family and decided to stop in for a beer. This place use to be so fun, the bar use to wind all the way around the wall. Now the bar has completely changed, has totally lost its charm. The staff didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in, just ended up walking out without even getting a beer. Smh.

The experience was terrible...sat for over an hour and never got served, didn't even get looked at by the staff. Completely unacceptable for such a "great" establishment!

Searching for a place to get some food after 10pm on a weekday and Emerson Biggin's was one of the few choices. This sports bar does a good job of offering food late-night with a full menu of appetizers, burgers and chicken sandwiches. Our server was friendly and came around often with water to accompany our spicy nachos and the chicken sandwich with avocado was pretty tasty. While I typically prefer restaurants with a little more character, the bar atmosphere and karaoke stage in the back made this an okay hangout in the evening.

Everything about Emerson Biggin's screams Midwest sports bar...for accomplishing its purpose, EB gets an A. There are giant TVs that remind you that somewhere in America, people are playing sports (baseball, football, basketball whatever happens to be in season) and being healthy while you're busy killing your liver. There are pool tables if you wish to show off your mad hand-eye coordination after imbibing in Wednesday night drink specials, which offer a quick way to get tanked...giant draft beers (of basically any variety) for $3-ish.

OK I have to admit cool place good vibe lots of women bartenders and servers. SO... I am either too old or too ugly to sit at the bar and barley catch a beer....a smile goes a long way! Bartenders and servers seem to be too busy to be cordial all business no fun... better off a Chili's or Longhorns bar. ....just sayin"

This is our (me, the hubs, our friends) go-to hangout spot. We like how this restaurant/bar has shuffle board, pool tables, foosball, and beer pong. The drink specials are good and I love their cheese fries and fried beef tacos.

All I have to say is their 32 oz. blue mixed drink with a red bull pouring inside is one of my favs! This was only $8 and it did the job for two people. Not only did it pack a mini punch but it was flavorful and refreshing at the same time. I can taste the citrus from the red bull too which is delicious!

This place used to be cool and fun but some of the staff are just inattentive and rude, like my presence is inconveniencing them. A few months ago we went in and sat at a table for over 15 minutes and had talked to 2 servers and 1 bartender about getting service and never got anything so we left. Don't be in the service industry if you're going to be a dumb ass bitch.

We were downtown for final Friday and looking for someplace to grab dinner. Took the family here at 7pm. It is ok early for families but I wouldn't want to be there past 9pm when all the drinkers are out in force in old town. The food was pretty good. I got the sliders and enjoyed them. Just the right size for a small appetite. Service was pretty good.

Went here with family. Mom had the tacos which she enjoyed very much. I had the EB burger which was amazing. It's a $10 burger but it's huge and tasty. The wait staff are very friendly and eager to please. We left a nice tip for their attentiveness. I will go again!

so im messing with the waitress - a little hottie with a tight biggins tshirt - and well, the logo sits right on her bewbies - so i was like: "nice biggins" she giggled... and then proceeded to bring me burgers, fries, pizza, and drinks. good times. the sliders were cheap as hell, the pub food was decent, and the giggly flirty little minx made bilbo baggins bar and grille a decent stop in effin wichita.

Simply put, I like this place. I've yet to have any bad experiences. It's probably the best place to predrink downtown due to cheap drinks and friendly service. The architecture and setting are nothing special and the crowd reminds me of a frat party, but those things make it what it is and it works!
