Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

The food here was excellent. Tortillas, beans, rice all freshly made. I had chicken tacos that were wonderful; my husband had carne asada and loved it. Often when we travel we are disappointed in Mexican restaurants, not this time! It is a small, simple yet very clean place with friendly staff, great food and very reasonable prices, what more can you ask for?!

We love this place. Service is excellent and the food is authentic. On my most recent visit I had the chicken enchilada platter. You can choose to have them made with either corn or flour tortillas. The platter comes with the standard sides of rice and refried beans. They also serve an excellent homemade salsa that is definitely hot and spicy but not painful. Beer is available as well as Mexican Coca-Cola. I haven't tried the Mexican Coke yet but plan to do so on my next visit. El Jalisco is hard to find. It's in a strip mall behind another strip mall. Definitely worth searching for. Closed on Tuesdays.

Unfortunately this part of town doesn't have a lot to offer food wise outside a number of fast food chains, so this place is a pretty nice alternative when you're craving Mexican. They have a pretty decent sized menu and I like the quaint "Hole-in-the-Wall" atmosphere. An order of tacos doesn't cost much and my God it's so much better than the mystery meat tacos you'll get across the street at Taco Bell.

The people who say this is good must not know what really authentic mexican food is. I got a chicken burrito supreme and gorditas. The gorditas were okay, at best, and were the only thing my wife and I actually ate. The burrito supreme just flat didn't taste good. The rice served on the side was obviously from package and had zero flavor. The pico de gallo was about 75% onion. I give it 2 stars but it at least appears to be clean.

My husband and I stopped by the first time to see what kind of seasonings they carry in their small market area. The next time we ordered tacos 'to go' and went home and made ourselves some margaritas. The food here is good. It's a simple place, just somewhere to catch a quick bite. We discovered this place right before we moved -- it's unfortunate that we live so far from it now!!

Been going here for quite some time. Food is authentic and always good and consistent. Prices are good. Friendly family owned and run.

Wow what an amazing find. Best Mexican food I have found in Kansas, rivals anything from home...and I'm from Texas. Everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for good authentic yummy eats!

This is authentic Mexican food, so if you're looking for a place like Taco Shop or Taco Pronto or Taco Bell, you're probably not going to like this place. A taco here is a small soft tortilla filled with carnitas and not much else. The food here is amazing and tastes very fresh. The ambience isn't much more than a couple of plastic tables and chairs, but if you're looking for a good quick fresh and cheap lunch or dinner then this is one of the better places to go. I just wish it wasn't so far away!

Very good Mexican food for a decent price! Has a hole-in-the wall feel to it except this place is clean. The employees are very friendly and helpful if you are not sure what you want. The burritos here are large and delicious; get the special burrito is comes with toppings! Cash Only!

By far one of the best authentic style Mexican restaurants in Wichita. I eat there every week. Tacos and enchiladas are my favorite.
