I wanted to like it just wasn't up to par. In fairness it was a busy afternoon, they had a great special .08 queso and $1.08 small mug o'ritas. I ordered combo fajita steak/shrimp, queso and a 'Rita. Queso not flavorful, reminded me of the time I made rotel dip with Kroger brand nice n cheesy instead of Velveeta. 'Rita, average....didn't taste any tequila, but didn't expect much for a buck. Fajitas- steak was nice and tender with a nice flavor. Shrimp was over cooked and flavorless. Portion size - perfect, fixings and tortillas perfect. Salsa great lots of tomatoes. My waiter was awesome his service was good. But overall the food wasn't impressive. Wouldn't go again even with the great specials. Would rather pay more for higher quality / better tasting food.

We came here for dinner and to watch the Royals play Baltimore. We were met at the door at a little after 7 pm on Friday, October 10, and were told by a girl with dark brown long hair, "We aren't taking reservations." What?!!?? No greeting? No smile? I said, "So we can't eat here?" I was pretty confused because it seemed we were being turned away, and there weren't many customers there for a Friday evening. She simply repeated herself: "We aren't taking reservations." She offered no explanation and gave us a blank stare. Still confused, I repeated MYself, too. "So, we can't eat here? We are not trying to make a reservation. We want to eat dinner and watch the game." She said, "We have a party of 40. . .". Like I care? You are a chain restaurant, and you can seat probably over 200 people, and it is Friday evening, dinner time. So one more time, I said, "So you're telling us we can't eat?" Then, strangely, she said she would see if the party of 40 was close to finishing up. Again. Like I care what they are doing? So she leaves for about 30 seconds and comes back and says they can seat us. Obviously, she just did not want to make the effort and thought we would turn around and walk out. The server we had (how I give two stars) worked his tail off, but sadly, the girl who was apparently the hostess supervisor cast a sour spell on the experience. I would have walked out immediately if it were just me, but others in my party needed to eat, and I figured it would be difficult to get seated elsewhere. So, what should have been an awesome evening for my team (of 9, by the way, so not a large party; we even offered to split up) turned out to be an awkward experience. I will never come back here. Our super nice server guy should go work somewhere that better suits his professionalism. Definitely a weird, unpleasant experience.

Have not been here in quite a while but was underwhelmed. Came for a goodbye dinner party of six. It seemed like there was no management in the building and restaurant being handled by a very inexperienced staff. The homemade salsa was the best part of the meal. My fajita salad served with some very brown lettuce and water in the bottom of the bowl (which must have come from the lettuce), making the entire dish soggy. My dinner companions were also served food that was barely warm. Service was o.k. and the restaurant was only half full on a Friday night.

Just tried the new fish tacos. I prefer grilled fish . these were grilled. Very fresh tasty and the best part was the corn tortillas. Sauce was spicy. Served with beans and rice. Best fish tacos I've had lately. They were better than the ones that I had recently at Bonefish grill! Good service as well. The downside to this restaurant chain is the margaritas. They have practically no booze and are too pricey for what you get.

This is right next to the Asian Super Buffet behind East Towne Square Mall. It is not my favorite, but the kids liked to go there. Its okay. Very casual. Price range is medium. The staff is polite.

Ehhh little high for what you get. Not real authentic. Five bucks for queso. Two of us ate for 32 bucks on the lunch menu, excluding tip. Coke and iced tea for 2.49 a piece. Will pass next time.

I mean...it was ok? Had fajitas that weren't too bad. Charge for extra cheese after they barely give you any. I had to ask for extra tortillas that never came. Just average.

Awful! I got the steak and enchiladas. The steak was dry, burnt, and bland; the enchiladas were horrible too. Overpriced!

Don't expect shamrocks here. Read the name. It's a Mexican Cafe. The place was nicely decorated with a friendly, energetic, knowledgeable staff. My taco salad wasn't worth bragging about, but my wife's combination place was. Beef enchiladas, taco, re-fried beans and rice. All had distinctive flavors, a hint of bitter. The rice was fluffy with slightly crisp chilies, a good mixture of flavor and texture.

I never expected this restaurant to be any good and when I dined there recently, my expectations were easily met. The food was simply not good or appetizing. The chips weren't made fresh and were obviously bagged. The entrees were overpriced and none of our table of 5 were satisfied with anything we ordered. However, the staff was extremely friendly so my one star is not intended for them. Nice staff, but poor quality of food and really overpriced; will not be returning.

This place piqued my interest when we were driving by. A Mexican restaurant with Irish name? Dare I ask... What made it even more humorous was the fact it was located next to this Chinese buffet builder and on top of it was some wacked out sprinkler that is actually for lawns. The kicker? It was turned on and moving around on the slanted roof. So anyways, we decided to drop in and try their goods. The interior was rather nicely done and had a warmth to it. The prices for the food and the selection was also great. Good prices. Overall would come here again during the next visit.

My wife and I wanted to try a local restaurant rather than a national chain. Unfortunately it was a bad idea. The chips and salsa were good. The queso (which was extra) was also good but it went downhill from there. My wife had the enchilada de poblano and she swears it was canned chicken. She had to send it back and they took it off our bill. My sancho/monterey was very bland.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
