Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

The pizza is better than any chain's pizza for sure. I like the choice of wheat crust. Today my barbecue chicken thin crust personal for $4.50 was awesome. They currently offer pizza half price from 2:00 to 4:00 for dine in and carry out! I think to fully appreciate this place you need to have their deep dish! You won't get that at Pizza Hut. They've got a good selection of beers, too. Plus there are three TVs on the wall. Give em a shot!

I ate here when Via's first opened years ago. I loved their sauce and craved it multiple times. Recently I went there with a friend and told him it was good pizza. After our dinner, I walked out with egg on my face. I felt so bad that I told him that. Their sauce tasted just like Chef Boy Ordee. I was so embarrassed.

This was my first time to Via's. I popped in to ask if they had a gluten free option - and they did! They had two different sizes I could pick from, they had gluten free breadsticks, and they had a few different options of gluten free beer. I was very excited and very impressed. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The food was great!! It can be hit or miss with gluten free pizza - I can honestly say this was the best I've had so far. I will definitely be back when I'm in Topeka.

If you are looking for a great, local pizza joint - this is your place!!! Family owned. Servers are great. Good sit-down place. We always get a Chicago style pizza and love all the leftovers we take home. Big selection of drinks and menu items. Have a fun night out and give it a try!!!

At Via's the food has been good and the service has been okay, but today the service was sub-par. Our trip went from good, to bad and back to amazing. We ordered a make your own pizza with Feta Cheese and Canadian bacon, a Gluten free pizza and an All meat pizza. The iced tea started out sub=par and tasted like it had coffee in it. On our recommendation they dumped the batch and started a new one (this takes time.) We tried to be patient, but it took an hour from sitting down to get our food. Distraught, we told the manager / owner. He informed us that they basically have to clean the kitchen and shut everything down for the gluten free pizza so it takes longer. They would have been better off warning of the longer wait times. When the food DID arrive, it was considerably better than I remembered. The gluten free pizza is MUCH larger and looks better and my pizza was the best-I've-had at Via's. Their getting better at their pizza, that's for sure. The manager offered us some desserts (Key-Lime pie and some chocolate thing) on the house. I cannot say if it is worth the price because it was comped, but they are AMAZING. Overall, the experience was worth it. I am impressed at how they righted the wrongs and their food has improved. Quick rundown, Salads... skip it. $2.99 for a basic house salad is a bit high. It is lacking some premium leafy greens to carry the price. The Pizzas and the desert is a must try. If it were not for the questionable customer service, I would have given 5 stars.

Great service, very sweet waitress! This place has a simple family setting which is nice and laid back. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great. I would definitely go back here multiple times to work through the menu and taste what they have to offer. Will return!

Just had Vias for the first time. Got two individual pizzas and a cheese bread delivered and it cost $26! Food was pretty good, had A BUNCH of Italian spices that kind of drowned out the good flavors. Would have given four stars, but the crazy prices drove it down to three.

Now, nothing can beat a true Chicago deep-dish pizza, but Via's comes pretty close! It's definitely the best pizza restaurant in Topeka. I tried the all-meat Chicago style pizza with a whole wheat crust and I'd have a difficult time trying anything else-- it was so good. The cheese bread was also tasty, but don't fill up on appetizers. One slice of pizza was enough to fill me up! The bad thing is that the service is incredibly slow. I know that good food takes time to prepare, but we spent several minutes staring at empty tables, just waiting to be seated. Other than that, no complaints about this experience. I can't wait to try it again.

Pizza was great - we had the barbecue pizza. Service was acceptable. They had jazzy music playing which seemed kind of strange for an Italian pizza place. The ambiance could be better but they make a damn good pizza.

Everyone is raving about their pizza and when I drive by it looks like it is always busy. I finally make it in there and it took about 15 minutes to take our order. The pizza didn't have much flavoring to it and was on the lack luster side. Pretty much a pizza you would eat after a night of drinking. We also order another pizza and that one never came out. When I asked about it they forgot to put it in and would take so and so minutes to come out but we had prior arrangements and didn't have the time to wait. Then they forgot to take it off the bill but got that fixed. For a gourmet-style pizza I was very disappointed especially from all the good reviews I heard from others. Hopefully it was just a bad day but won't be in a hurry to go back.

A notch under, unfortunately, the philly cheese steak from Domino's. That being said, I have sampled phillies from every restaurant in Topeka and Via's is top notch. Pizza is decent. Would prefer other chain restaurants. It is the dough. Golden brown and delicious with the factor of using soggy ingredients like cheese, meat, and veg is difficult. Hope this helps!

Food is ok. The service was kind of shabby. We ordered standard pizzas and they messed up my personal deepdish pizza. They said they would fix it. Ten minutes later, when the rest of my party were almost done eating, they came out to confirm my order. It previously took them 45 minutes to bring out the wrong food. We are waiting for my food now for 25 minutes. There was no apology or discount offered. Double check your food order before they go back into the kitchen.

Via's is a great local pizza place. All of their pizzas are oven baked, which gives them more flavor, but also means a longer wait. We feel it's worth it. This is one of the few pizza places we will choose to eat at. The prices are reasonable and Via's has a descent bar to choose from while waiting. We usually stop by Via's at least once a month. The Opera pizza is our favorite.

Ive heard so many great things about Vias. Ive also heard that their pizza is expensive and their service very slow, none of which i found to be true. First off, the experience started off being miserable as my wife and i were welcomed into a restaurant FULL of screaming, bratty children...and even worse parents. We sat at the bar, the bar tender got me a couple beers, which were $2 for domestics, and our order was taken quickly. The pizza also arrived fairly quickly, id say within 10-15 min. We got the margarita pizza to share, and when it came out i was very excited to see what appeared to be a decent thin crust pizza. Well, it was not. Now i know a good pizza because i grew up in chicago, and this one was bland and the crust tasted like dusty cardboard. We had ordered the wheat crust because the bar tender said it tasted better...as opposed to what? Licking the floor? I dunno, the whole experience was unexceptional. Theres nothing much to say besides its best not to waste your $23!

Fresh and handmade! Expect a little wait here for your food, but they have lunch time specials with no wait!

Have been there on only one occasion. Food was ok. We ordered a calzone and two different pizzas. Thought the pizza crust was doughy in my opinion. Place is dark and not inviting. For the food we received, I thought the price was high. If we hadn't have received stellar service, I would never go back in there. There's a chance I might pop back in someday. A small chance.

I hadn't been to Via's in quite some time. Apparently, they've recently switched to new ownership along with new ingredients and new menu items. The reason I hadn't been to Via's in so long is because I just didn't care for the flavor and felt I could make something just as tasty in my own kitchen. Not so much anymore. I was treated to a special lunch here and really enjoyed it. Thin Wheat Crust "Supreme" pizza is what we ordered. (Not sure what they call it) It was delicious! Not dripping with grease and jam-packed full of flavor. Last weekend we ordered takeout from them. It was a repeat performance and delicious again. Not the cheapest pizza in town, but they are a local business, which scores them points with me. And, they are close to home, so they'll likely be seeing more of me than they have in the past.
(4)Andy H.
Good service, great crust, but beyond the crust there wasn't much that the pizza did for me. We had the Margherita pizza and it was very bland before I added crushed pepper. I will say I was pleased they did great with having it hot and ready for us when we called ahead for dine in after another pizza place we called ahead wouldn't honor our dine in order unless we ordered upon arrival which didn't suit our hurry we were in at the time.

This was my first time going and it was great! I had the Barbecue Chicken Grinder and it was amazing. I couldn't eat it all because we had a sample appetizer and cheesy bread before. It was great food and great service!
(5)Mike L.
Great pizza! Super hand made crust and fresh ingredients. Take your time as it is all hand made. Definitely will come back!
(5)Emily B.
Found this place after stretching our legs in Gage Park during a road trip. Ordered a supreme pizza (they called it L'Opera) --deep dish--and it was excellent! Flavorful crust, lots of veggies, and not too heavy. Two of us shared the smaller size and didn't feel overstuffed afterwards. Took a while to cook, but we enjoyed a good selection of draft beer and a friendly server. Even got to learn some history about an industrial sized mixer they had that came from a Navy ship. Would highly recommend!

Today's visit to Via's was the first since the new owner. We used to consider Via's as the only place for pizza in Topeka and rated pizza in other city's based upon Via's. We can no longer do that. The Tutu Carne pizza which was our favorite is still on the menu, but the flavor is not the same. It was good, but no longer GREAT. The restaurant is clean, the restrooms are clean, the service is prompt, the menu is large with lots of variety, not just pizza.

When I want Pizza in Topeka, this is my top choice. I go here maybe once a month. There was a period of time when the crust seemed to be overbaked, almost burned, but they seem to have solved that problem now and I haven't experienced that in over a year. The pizza are not greasy in the way they are a some places (unless you order all pepperoni maybe) and I like the seasonings in their sauce very much --- nice herb flavors without being overdone. Not a large selection of beers, but some unusual ones. Staff has always been friendly and attentive. This is definitely a family business with lots of the extended family working here. On my second visit here, they remembered my name and where I like to sit from the first visit three weeks earlier. I was very impressed with that. Family friendly with a kids play area at one end of the room, and two large screens at the other end showing sports. Parking lot is very small and you may need to park on the street to the southeast of the building and walk half a block or so. Its in a converted convience store/strip mall type building. Not fancy in any way but comfortable and friendly. What do they need to get a fifth star? Some nice Italian wines and a really good calzone.
(4)Allen L.
Not the best pizza in town. Atmosphere wasn't great...kids running around in the play area and a guy who was juggling that was dropping the balls every minute. Seemed like I was at the circus. Plus they messed up on several orders at tables around us, including ours.
(2)Christal H.
I love the pizza here. The food is wonderful. The juggler has not worked at Via's since 2009.
(4)Michael B.
I've had pizza in a lot of places- this pizza is among the best. The deep dish comes with topping-stuffed crust by design and is like pizza shaped crack. They have local beers from the Blind Tiger and the service rocks. Two thumbs up from me!
