We are from PDX so we enjoy great food , I have to say the food was surprisingly good. Steak was cooked perfectly. Staff were friendly and attentive. We were there on a Wednesday evening and they were really busy but we only waited 15 min for a table. Downsides are the noise level and they bring the food quickly without time to enjoy the appetizer, before salad, before the entree. So turning the tables is a priority, and likely how they keep the prices very reasonable.

We went here for my grandma's 90th birthday 'after party'. I won't go into the details of the Roadhouse because it is true to form of every other Texas Roadhouse nationwide with the peanuts, cinnamon butter, staff line dancing etc. Unless they're doing a really shoddy job I think the thing that separates these massive corporate restaurant chains is the food. The food was good and the price was right for steak. I recommend the mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides though if you want a salad the 'side salad' is quite large and not just near-turn iceberg lettuce. Overall, this is the best place to get steak (other than the butcher) in Topeka. Whenever visiting family in Top town I am down with some Texas Roadhouse.

This was my second visit to this chain. My first was in Tyler, TX several weeks ago, and that visit compelled me to try this location (not to mention the location only a block or so from my hotel). My business colleague and I arrived just after 6PM. There was a bit of a wait, but we found seats at the bar and were pleased that the Texas Rangers game was about to begin on the big screen! My prime rib came out a perfect medium rare and the minced horseradish and au jus complimented it perfectly. The service was great, and we left the restaurant happy with our meal and the Rangers' comfortable lead. I'm becoming a fan of this chain. Based on visits to two locations the service has been consistently good and the fare excellent, especially for this price point.

My wife and I used to love this place. Not sure if they changed chefs or what, but in recent months the food has been terrible. The only good parts are the still fantastic dinner rolls you get for free and the unique atmosphere. We thought at first maybe it was just a bad night, but the food was the same 3 visits in a row. Too bad.

This is my best restaurant in town for sure! They never disappoint me! The ribeye steak is always my favorite. I don't really like their starters. I did not give 5 start coz the wait is always long.

It's a Texas Roadhouse! Lunch specials are always well worth it and don't forget the military discount!

WE LOVE TEXAS ROADHOUSE! When we go to Texas Roadhouse, we hope that there is a wait, because we enjoy sitting in the waiting area to crack peanuts and chat. It's fun. Doesn't even feel like we're waiting for anything. The environment, the staff, the food, everything is top notch! Highly recommended! Prices are great too.

Excellent service, beautiful country environment. Best bread as entry ever; Better than Outbacks, Longhorn, Olive Garden, etc. Its super soft warm and sweet and the butter taste to cinnamon.

Literally the nicest wait staff I've encountered in a long time. Walked down from my Hampton Inn. The manager must be on top of it or the employees just love their jobs. Sat at the bar. Alex and Tiffany were tag-teaming. They remembered my name even with a packed bar. Not just my name but everyone's. Sure, they wrote it down but that actually goes a long way. I travel for my job and the overall level of service in the US needs serious attention. An experience like this shouldn't be rare but it is. Chain or no-chain-- good service makes or breaks the meal. The kitchen staff who brought my food was great too. Go in. Get a steak and a beer (or three) and enjoy yourself.

I love Texas Roadhouse! I live in Houston for part of the year and I eat at Texas Roadhouse there! I dont like that it is hard to take home and re-heat fried catfish, so I have to make sure I visit on a day where I am really hungry! All the hostess/waitresses are kinda blond clones...maybe they should do what Dallas' Red Neck Heaven does and make them all dress like "Daisy Duke"! Also, if you decide you want to get a carry-out order its super fast and easy! I especially like how they package the food up real nice so it will stay warm and not spill on your way home!

Went here with my husband for his office Christmas party. I'd never been before and the place was crazy-busy. The waitress - there was just but one for all 25 or so of us - did FANTASTIC. She got everything right the first time and stayed on top of everything. I was completely impressed. The food was basic chain food - maybe a step up from Applebees or the like. It was good but there wasn't anything notable about it. That being said I ate every last bit of my meal. The rib meat fell of the bone and the sweet potato was gigantic and tender and sweet. Overall, my impression was favorable and I'd go back given the chance.

Ate here as was passing through. Always good food as far as chain restaurants are concerned. Do yourselves a favor and call ahead, the wait here is horrible. I had a margarita with grenadine it was good, had a steak combo with bbq chicken for dinner. Steak was cooked perfect med rare.

The best steakhouse in Topeka ( so far )....... As soon as you are seated, you are given a basket of hot, freshly baked buns and a small container of cinamon butter. The combination of the hot buns and the sweet tasting cinamon butter are to die for. You also are given a bucket of peanuts in the shell. As you eat the peanuts, you get to throw the discarded peanut shells at the waitress.... just kidding, but you do get to throw the peanut shells on the floor. The restaurant is bright, lively, the play country music, and is designed to look like a log cabin. Everything inside is wood based from the tables, the benches at the tables, and the walls. It was a little bit too loud for a restaurant, but still quiet enough that you can hear the person across from you. I ordered the 8oz hand carved sirloin steak, cooked well done as usual, a fully loaded baked potato and a bowl of chilli. The steak was cooked properly, well seasoned, and had 0% fat or gristle, which meant nothing was left on my plate when I finished. If you are not up to eating a steak, they also had ribs and chicken on the menu. I can safely say that this is the best steakhouse in the area where you can get a decent steak dinner for around $20 a person

Probably one of the worst steak places I've ever been to. The service is quite good but the food is crap. The atmosphere is quite noisy, which is okay if you like that, but I don't. I went here once when it just opened. Ordered a chicken fried steak which has patted down so thin you could almost see through it. It was extremely salty too. I have gone back since. The steak actually improved as it wasn't patted down so thin but it was still horrifically salty. I could swear you could find a salt block that tastes less salty than their food. The people I was with ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was patted down pretty badly and just as salty. The only good thing was the service. I could not make a complaint at all about the waitress. If you want a steak in Topeka, there's plenty of steak houses which are cheaper and have better food, such as Topeka Steak House to the east, Plantation to the north, or if you want to drive a little west, there's Puffy's in Maple Hill. Each of these are much, much better than Texas Roadhouse.

Overcooked, bland steak. Unfortunately, it's one of the better chain restaurants in town. Go to Chez Yasu if you want a decent filet.

It was definitely Texas Road House good. Not much different from the one we frequent in N. OKC...but w/o the OU mural painted on the wall. I should knock off a couple stars just for that :).

Always good food and usually busy. Very rarely do we get seated right away. Always a 10-15 minute wait. Call ahead to get on the list, even if your just leaving the house. The Prime Rib is my favorite.

I have been a regular at TRH for over 7 years, and have eaten probably hundreds of their ribeye steaks in CO, IA, MO, and KS. However, I cannot abide a restaurant that pawns off a cheaper, inferior cut of meat for an other. I ordered my usual medium 10 oz. ribeye. I was served a thin, pale, bland nasty thing that was maybe a step up from a round steak. It looked like it had artificial grille marks and had been cooked in a microwave. I sent a complaint to corporate through their website and have not gotten a response. After doing a little research, it appears that this is not an isolated incident, but the 10 oz. "ribeye" that TRH is now serving nation-wide. It looks like the ribeye was swapped about the same time they added their bone-in ribeye to the menu. Maybe in June 2012? I haven't eaten at a TRH since June 2012 when I lost my job, and, just went back after now having a job for a few months and had a busy day Christmas shopping with my wife. Any steakhouse where I need to reach for the steak sauce has gotten the kiss of death from me. It is sad to say "Good-Bye!" to a restaurant that I have had so many enjoyable meals, but just like Lonestar before... "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!" I will not be going back to TRH. Outback is now my regular steakhouse, and Longhorn is where I go to celebrate or impress family. I will miss the "free" peanuts, but I have always preferred Outback's bread any ways.
