Get the buffet. Good deal. Love this place. Always have. Gives "buffet" a good name.

Food was average and service was not great. We were a large party but the waitress would disappear for long periods of time.

Don't waste your time or money. Horrible food. Overpriced. Taco Bell is better. Nowhere near to authentic, but then most places in Topeka aren't. This is simply the worst of the worst.

The buffet is excellent, and reasonable at $8.79. A wonderful surprise for my first visit to Topeka.

Buffet is a great deal- perfect if you have a group of people to feed! Cocktails are excellent as well!

Do yourself a favor, buy a frozen dinner instead.

Casa Authentic Mexican Food: Authentic doesn't even begin to describe it, this place is like a living slice of Mexico! From crunchy corn shells to delicious black olives this is THE REAL DEAL just like they eat in Mexico!!! They didn't just stop with the legit flavors because the decor inside is also amazing! From the wide booths to the generous buffet line, it really makes you feel like you're south of the border! The carpet also really ties the room together. This restaurant is the epitome of authentic and I would recommend taking anybody you want to impress with your knowledge of the subtleties of Authentic Mexican Cuisine.

I went to Casa for lunch today at around 2pm. Despite the fact that I was there well after the lunch hour and well before the dinner crowd showed up, I was the only car in the parking lot and the only patron in the whole building. I was seated immediately, and I have to say my waitress was very sweet and did a wonderful job. My glass was always full of Diet Pepsi and she was very prompt. The positives end there, I got my food suspiciously fast after ordering, and after a few bites it was clear that my food had been made well in advance and reheated and tasted like some of it was shipped in frozen or came out of a can. It felt like a rock in my stomach and it was not a pleasant meal. I feel really bad writing this because my waitress was a very sweet lady and she deserves to work in a better restaurant. But I can skip Casa.

As a native of Topeka, I have been going to Casa since I was just a little boy. It has never been the tastiest place for mexican food but its just been one of those restaurants that has always been there and you never get too excited for you experience. My last experience was last night and let me start off with mentioning that the staff was and has been absolutely awesome. I've never had a problem with customer service at Casa. The food and the cleanliness on the other hand are a whole other story. Horrible. No other way to put it. In fact the food woke me up at 1:30am and I was very sick. The effect that Casa's food had on my body last night makes Montezuma's revenge look like runny nose. Now that I live in Kansas City Casa will no longer haunt me and I'm glad I got closure last night with that dirty outdated horrible food restaurant. I will never go back to Casa, ever. I'd rather drink the water in Mexico.

I've gone to CASA since I was a kid, been many, many times! The food is really good, and good priced. Only had one bad experience there, where my chicken wasn't cooked good and was still pink. But here I am, giving it five stars even after that, so that should tell you how much I like it :)

Places come and places go, but Casa seems to be around forever. Seriously, Casa has been in the same spot for a long long time. Although its downtown and away from Wanamaker, the place seems to do okay business. Expect to spend $10/person at dinner either for a dish or the buffet. The buffet is salad, enchiladas (beef and cheese), nachos, beans and rice, and tacos. You tell the person at the buffet what items you want, you don't have to do the serving yourself. The seating is more fast-food style than sit-down restaurant. There are no chairs, just booths, and they are quite uncomfortable. It seems like there are a lot of families and kids here. They layout and seating seems to suggest this is what they're looking for. Might not want to take a hot date or a business lunch here though. The food was okay for what you got. Not overly great, but not bad either. The uncomfortable seating, though, annoyed me the most here. But in the end, any place that stays around as long as Casa must be doing something right.

I have been coming here since I was born (literally). I love their buffet and queso. Of course their food isn't "authentic" but what restaurant not on 6th st is?

Great Mexican Place! All you can eat buffet! On certain days they have 69 cent margaritas and other nights they have 69 cent ML/BL. Great place to go. Pretty good chips and salsa as well.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
