Just a good old fashioned family diner just south of town. Family owned. Generous portions at a fair price. Had breakfast yesterday with my junior in college daughter and remember bringing her when she sat in a high chair. As usual they did not disappoint and service with a smile like always!

The owner did send me an email and he did apologize for the waitress and service. I no longer live in the area, but I would be willing to give it another shot when I am in town, I did appreciate the response. I am sorry I neglected Yelp for so long!

The banjo's cafe is a great place to stop and grab a bite to eat for breakfast or lunch. I enjoyed the warm home feeling and amazingly prepared food. I ate the chicken fried chicken and it was hands down the best I have ever had. Prices are very affordable as well andq I will recommend this cafe to anyone.

Great find on our road trip to Omaha for the CWS. Wonderful service and a good price for the huge helpings. Felt like going to granny's for a country breakfast. Ordering the biscuit and sausage gravy next year!

Simply put: Diners just don't come better than this. Prices can't be beat either. Food is great. Best tasting chicken fried steak I've ever had (wed special). Come hungry and seat yourself!

The food here is mediocre (frozen chicken fried steak? Really?) but the service and coffee were both good. Topeka is sorely lacking a good breakfast joint!

Checked this place out today for brunch since it was rated so well on here. Man, it was good! I tried some of my friends chicken fried steak bowl and it was amazing. I got the hefty meal, luckily I wasn't THAT hefty to where I could finish it. It was two huge tasty pancakes with eggs and sausage. Mmmmmm. It was really busy on a Saturday morning but we had no trouble getting a table. Service was slow, that's why I'm giving four stars. But next time (and believe me there will be many next times), I'm sure it will be better. The lunch menu looked great too, so can't wait to try it all! The menu all around was big, which I wasn't expecting from the looks of the place. I'm going to shut up. You need to try this hidden place that I only found because of Yelpers!

Banjo's Café is better than average - it's good. I tried Banjo's first for lunch while traveling in Topeka on business. The menu is substantial and you can order breakfast all day. Two of my lunch-mates ordered salads and they seemed pretty fresh. I ordered the club sandwich melt with a side of seasoned fries. The sandwich was sort of a cross between a club sandwich and a grilled cheese and it was very tasty. Both the sandwich and the portion of fries were plentiful. A few days later, I went to Banjo's on my own for breakfast. I ordered a vegetable omelet with hash browns. They do their omelets differently than I have seen in other places, with the vegetables both inside and on top of the omelet. It was a good breakfast, but the portion was huge - about double the size of what one needs. Banjo's is definitely popular with the locals and they were packed for breakfast. I can see why - good food, huge portions, great value!

The food here is fantastic. Classic diner food/comfort food. Large selection of breakfasts and lunches - they're not open for dinner. Go hungry and when you're not on a diet as you won't find a single thing to eat if you're dieting. Be prepared for food drenched in flavor - a real treat. They're no stranger to butter here. Ordered a cinnamon roll on our last trip. The things are GIANT, tender, and LOADED with a bunch of decadent frosting. Makes for a great dessert. :) And, can't go away without mentioning the service. The girls (I've never had a waiter here, just waitresses) have always been friendly, quick, considerate, and gotten the order correct. They really round out the pleasure in the visit. This is one spot I'd recommend everyone try.

Great service, and even better food. Why eat anywhere else in Pauline, KS? I've lived in KS., for over three years, and I'm upset that I didn't discover this establishment earlier. What a hidden gem!

Don't let the appearance fool you, this place is GREAT. We ate there last Sunday and the food was awesome. For the money you get HUGE portions and you will not walk away hungry. They are only open for breakfast and lunch.
