Very good breakfast to have when you are in Kansas City! Love their biscuits and gravy and nice big fluffy pancakes. Loved coming here when I lived here and had to stop here for breakfast is a definite must! Great place to come with friends and have good eats and enjoy coffee and breakfast. During the week I remember is the best time to come. The week be prepared to wait for awhile for a table. Food comes out quick and hot, love that they have warm syrup!

My second visit to Big Biscuit, first time at this location. This review is based upon my visit last weekend. Award winning biscuits and gravy? What kind of award was this? Most mediocre? They're boring. Nothing special about the biscuits and gravy here. They came with Jim's Platter. I like they leave you with a small carafe of coffee once you order a cup. Pretty basic food. Staff is friendly. Seems to be a pretty clean place. I will return to try the cinnamon roll pancakes.

Sticky bun ... I could end there but I won't despite it being amazing there was more. I enjoyed the food and the decent price. The only down side was the wait...But when you go on a Sunday you should expect as much. The food was made promptly and brought out fresh and hot and I didn't have top send out back like I have had to do at"fine dining" establishments. It has a truck stop feel with out the trucker smell which from previous work experience I can tell you is wonderful news for the place. Try it I bet you that disappointment wrong be on the menu.

    Love the Biscuits.

Great place for a hearty breakfast! I had an amazing Belgian waffle combo with pecans, caramel and powdered sugar with bacon and scrambled eggs. My fellow diners had a breakfast burrito and eggs Benedict and we all shared an order of their famous biscuits and sausage gravy. Everything was well prepared and perfectly seasoned. My waffle was light and fluffy as were the biscuits. Our server was charming and energetic. I dare you to leave this place hungry!

I love the potatoes and french toast, but the "big biscuit?" Eh... It's dry, and not all that big. Hence the three star rating. The pancakes are alright too. I will be back for another try. Perhaps for brunch or lunch.

I swore I'd never come back here. I saw an employment ad on craigslist for The Big Biscuit seeking managers. The way the ad pimped their business philosophies and bragged of upcoming expansion, I second guessed myself and thought perhaps the business has made positive strides in their daily operations. So, we went back... The seating and service processes were definitely improved from our previous attempts, although the staff is a motley crew. I don't expect super models everywhere I go, and I'm not saying these folks are ugly or anything. It's something you have to see to understand. The phrase "a bit off" describes it best. The food was better than the first visit, but that's not saying much considering how bad it was last time. I had the Pigs in A Blanket and she had the Country Benedict. Everything was cooked ok, the presentation was adequate, and it all came out quickly. The food just isn't that good. The product was standard breakfast selection mass distributed by the local food warehouse distributor. There was absolutely nothing special about what we got. It put my tastebuds to sleep. The coffee...hmmmmm. Maybe I was wrong in my original review. Maybe it wasn't burnt. Maybe it's just rot gut coffee. It has a bitter charcoal flavor to the finish. I drink it black or I don't drink it. I simply could not choke this coffee down. It's horrible. I can't figure it out. This place is busy. I wish I knew what it was that keeps the zombies meandering through their door. If any of you know, please tell me so I can order it!

Decided to try something new today, the food was good & great service. Not too sure what our total was due to the amazing people who decided to pay for our entire order before they left. I really hope this is seen by whoever did that because i would have loved to say thank you for doing something so generous for complete strangers! I will definitely pay this gesture forward! #restoringhumanity . We will definitely be back!

Price seemed high for the quality. Plus I just wanted a little bit more holindaise sauce but they charge 2.19 other than that it was good just seemed priced high.

Wow! My husband and I brought our three teenagers (2 are boys!) for breakfast. My husband got omlette with buscuits and gravy. My daughter and I got the french toast combos (hers had berries ;) ). One son ordered the big breakfast (lives up to it's name!). My other son got the breakfast burrito (OMG Huge!). I ended up ordering a buscuit as well and they ended up accidentally bringing out a second one after we got our check, so my husband ended up eating that one. It all was soooo delicious and the waitstaff were friendly. But the most important part is my teens got full! We will definitely be returning. My sons say tomorrow, but I don't think it will be that soon.

This place is fantastic, get there early...big line. If this place was 3 stars it wouldn't get lines that are over an hour wait! The Sticky Biscuit is outstanding, order it plain (not loaded). The Mayberry is my go to item Kids love the pancakes..

If our "licked clean plates" should indicate what my review of this place is going to be, read on! There is no froo froo hipster food here. This breakfast and lunch only diner is built on the kind of food your grandma in Kansas used to make! My family and I had a little bit of everything; eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, French toast and grits. Not a single item disappointed! The bacon was cooked perfectly, the homemade biscuits were OBVIOUSLY baked in house and were fluffy and delicious. Being in the Midwest, I was concerned about choosing the grits but they were delicious if you like southern style grits. It's not fancy but it is good old fashioned comfort breakfast. Were definitely coming back to try lunch!!

Biscuits and gravy are the way to go. This place is awesome for breakfast. Food portions are large. I tried the southern Eggs Benedict (biscuits, eggs, sausage, and gravy stacked). I was in heaven but couldn't finish it. I normally don't like gravy on my eggs but decided to let it slide this time and I am so glad I did. The staff is hit or miss. We had a younger server that was more than accommodating but we watched other tables waiting for refills, food, and checks that seemed highly agitated. I am not sure how our sever pushed us to the front but we did get our food fast and watched others impatiently waiting that ordered well before we did. If in the area I would say it's definitely one to try. They do stay very busy and the wait times can be long.

This is the best place around for breakfast - I just wish they were open all day! The scramblers are to die for and the service is excellent. The atmosphere is light and cheery, and the walls are covered in really fascinating historical photos of Shawnee.

Probably one of the best biscuits I've had. I'm sure the biscuits and gravy would have been fantastic. Went with the KC omelette and wasn't disappointed. Would definitely go again.

We occasionally went to the Big Biscuit in Lawrence Kansas and this one is pretty much the same thing. The service is excellent and the food is good. The prices are slightly high at about $10 a plate though. But it is good for a family morning out. The waits can be somewhat long though. They rarely are without a line.

  • Shana S.

The biscuits WERE pretty tasty, and even though another reviewer said the gravy tasted like a mix, I was pretty satisfied. There were definitely chunks of sausage in my gravy. The other guests got omelets, pancakes, eggs, etc. Everyone was happy with breakfast. The manager/owner? came and checked to see how everything was. There weren't too many people in the restaurant besides us. We went on Easter morning, so people may just not have been out of church yet. There were, however, a BUNCH of servers (maybe in anticipation of a busy day). Overall, food was good and service was good. When we want a hearty breakfast, we'll definitely go back.

I too love breakfast joints. I know that there is a Big Biscuit in Blue Springs and most of the locals that I know do not think too highly of it. I figured this one may be different so I thought I would try it. To begin, I enjoy the flavored creamers that both IHOP and First Watch offer. They do not have that choice here. The coffee was burnt and lacked flavor. The staff was friendly enough, but lacked attention to detail. It gets pretty annoying having to flag down your waiter/waitress. I prefer the ones that are on it before you can think of it. I'm a big tipper so I weigh things like that heavily. It could've just been our waitress for the day. Food was good, but I can make the same at home. Sorry Big Biscuit, I just wasn't that impressed.

I actually wanted to talk about Big Biscuits newest location in Lawrence. Since they don't have a page up for that location yet, I will just write on here. Let me just say I have heard about Big Biscuit for quite some time. I love breakfast and my family and I are always looking for another challenge to our favorite breakfast place First Watch. Well, my son and I were in Lawrence the other day visiting KU and someone told us that Big Biscuit had opened a location near the campus. We went with open arms and I must say we made a mistake. First of all it was during the weekday. They weren't busy, but had tons of servers walking around. This must be because it's new. Well, that didn't help the fact we waited nearly 10 minutes for someone to finally come by to greet us. Even a young manager walked by us several times, but I guess his head was in the clouds. We asked the server what was good and she didn' t even know. We asked about the biscuits and gravy and she lazily said yeah it's good. I said I heard it is award winning and she just kind of chuckled. Well, we ordered pancakes, on omelet and these so called award winning biscuits and gravy. Well, disappointed is all I can say. Pancakes had a weird taste to it. Omelet came out looking like someone just slopped it on a plate. Potatoes tasted ok, but what surprised us both was the gravy. It was like some generic store brand kind. Biscuits were big though and that was the only thing we were impressed with. As we were leaving we also walked by at least 5 staff members. They didn't say thanks and come back. They just looked at us. Well, maybe you should try hiring kids who know what customer service is for a change. Let's just say we won't be back. First Watch here we come. We need a great breakfast and we know you'll deliver!

I really like this place. I yet to try anything else besides the biscuit and gravy with either breakfast potato's or hash browns. I wish they were open all day but 2:30 is not too bad.

I often frequent this place for breakfast once a week with my father. It's consistent and usually very kind staff. I enjoy the ranchero omelet almost every visit. I typically save half of it for lunch. In the time that it took me to leave my table today and go to my vehicle to realize that I left my to-go-box on the table, it was already thrown away in the trash. They offered me a free biscuit after I made them aware of what happened....I know that to-go-box had to have been heavy. It was tossed in the trash within 1 minute of me leaving table. Honestly doubtful that I will return here. Pegah's it is...

Wow! What a great surprise to have stumbled upon this place! My boyfriend had the Biscuits Ben-Yay--who does that?--biscuits cooked like french toast and covered in paeans and caramel? Delicious! I had the Alamo, a stuffed breakfast burrito. The food was flavorful and came out very fast. The service was extraordinary; our young server was really friendly and attentive. The friendly, helpful manager stopped by twice, once before we ordered and again after we finished eating. He made the rounds to make sure everyone in the place was enjoying their meal, etc. You just don't see that often enough. Very impressed! We'll be back, for sure!

I have been back a few times with the family and still enjoy it. There can be long waits on the weekends but it's a good place for groups because of their large table and booths. My favorite dish there has become the chicken fried steak with gravy and eggs. I used to live in Texas and ate a lot of chicken fried steak, and this is the best I've ever had. Really tender steak and just the right amount of breading. I don't love the coffee because it's pretty bitter, but not undrinkable.

  • Cristi S.

Food was kind of bland. service was just ok. I had a quesadilla. It was alright. Haven't been back, but not opposed to it. I think you're better off ordering breakfast food at this joint. It has a diner atmosphere and feeling. Not particularly eye catching. Food was cheap and I got plenty of it.

We went in today for lunch. The food was good, but the service on behalf of the manager was terrible. While we were waiting for our food a waitress spilled a tray of water glasses and milk on top of my head. I was drenched and the table was drenched. We moved tables and got our food. At the end we get our bill. The manager took off 25%. Now I was still soaked shirt shorts shoes and socks. That's the best t hey could do. As we were walking out several of the other patrons told us they can't believe they made us pay at all. Seriously 5 glasses of water and milk spilled on my head. The waitress apologized, but the manager was pretty useless . We will not be going back anytime soon. The biscuits were good.

Very good food and a lot of it! The Country Benedict platter is amazing. I will be back next time I'm in town.

I would not recommend this restaurant due to finding a hair in my food and the manager acted like I put it there myself to keep from paying for it. The waitress was very non-caring also. The man sitting behind my husband and I had to send his eggs back because they were burnt. Most of the food they put out is frozen or not cooked properly. It's horrible.

One of my favorite breakfast spots when in the KC area. The Mayberry is my favorite. I don't like biscuits much but theirs are to die for! Their sausage gravy is fantastic. Highly recommend this joint.

Big Biscuit? I was expecting a HUGE cinnamon roll sized biscuit but it's a normal biscuit size. Regardless, the biscuits were moist and really good. It was the highlight of the meal. The service needs a lot of work. The hostess was very anxious to get people seated. She was in the way of the person busing the tables. I appreciate she wants to get us to the table but please let the other person do their job. As for the actual table service, our server was nice enough but not terribly attentive. I ordered my usual corned beef hash with country potatoes and a biscuit. The eggs were incredibly salty but cooked as I ordered. The country potatoes were cooked but without seasonings....just crispy potato chunks. The corned beef hash was canned but tasty once I added table side Louisiana hot sauce. I was thankful for a full bottle at the table. All in all, it's a fine breakfast place if you're in the area. Also, warning...it is annoyingly brightly lit. The light was so bright I had to maneuver my menu around to avoid the glare on my glasses. Perhaps I had an off visit. But the biscuit did not save the rest of my meal and the service I had.

One of the better experiences when it comes to breakfast diners. Clean place, friendly staff, decent food with nice portions. It's pretty standard food, but they do a good job.

  • Tom C.

Breakfast was very good, I had the Omelet Ranchero and our daughter the dollar pancakes. What stole the show was the Santa Fe burger, excellent! Couple of cheeses, bacon and jalapeños it was amazing. So, bottom line, don't overlook the burgers!

Customer services is lacking a little bite for every time I have went here I have always gotten the same flavors in food! Food is always spot on with how it's suppose to be!

This place has amazing good. The sticky biscuit is one if the best things I have ever had. Their breakfast potatoes are excellent. Great service too! Highly recommend it!

  • Lisa P.

You know how, at a lot of places, when you order an omelet the ingredients are either sparse or clustered in the center, with empty egg around the outside? Yeah, well, that is NOT how it is at The Big Biscuit! The ingredients were plentiful and distributed throughout the omelet, so I went on eating long after I was full, because I couldn't let it go to waste! My husband got the biscuits & gravy and was very impressed as well. And the service was EXCELLENT! We will definitely go back here.

    (4)
  • Lynne M.

I had a good breakfast - omelette was good, hash browns and salsa were good, biscuit was quite good. Very large portions (2 meals for me). I also got a loaded sticky biscuit, which is somewhere between a biscuit texture and coffee cake topping - delicious!

  • Igor C.

I've been on a chicken fried steak for breakfast binge. I've been trying all places close to me, I guess I should make a list. So far this is the best overall. Steak, potatoes, two eggs and a biscuit. I like the option that they ask if you want gravy on the steak potatoes or both.

  • DB R.

Always good food and good service for the amount of people that walk through the doors on a daily basis - this place is great for weekend breakfast's and when you have company in town. Obviously - being a popular place, there is always a wait, but they move pretty quickly and you are seated within about 15 minutes of arrival. We haven't had a bad thing on the menu - it's all good. Typical breakfast style food and a few specialties that are hard to beat!

  • Chad S.

This place is too bright ... way too bright. Fortunately, this was not a morning I was looking to have my longtime standby of biscuits & gravy to rescue me from the depths of too many adult beverages the night before, because this place is lit up brighter than a locked down prison yard. Overall the food was decent breakfast fare. There isn't anything overly "big" about the biscuits, but they'll do. The hashbrowns were crisp but unseasoned and the coffee was full. So will I go back to The Big Biscuit? Perhaps. But definitely not hungover.

Breakfast is one of those meals that I am ready for anytime of the day and/or night. Tooling down Shawnee Mission Parkway, I see a small flag like sign stating " Breakfast". I didn't know that a Big Biscuit had went in where CiCi's Pizza had been. Being a former east sider, I knew about the Biscuit on 40 Highway in Independence, but had never thought about going till I saw it featured on "Check Please". So I was thrilled I could try the place without the cross town journey. Decor is down to earth, with an obvious Kansas flair..Pictures on the wall are all wheat fields, barns, windmills and old Johnson county snapshots of things gone by. Menu is 80% breakfast related, with a sandwich, lunch item and salad page on the backpage. But I was there for the breakfast experience, so I didn't browse the menu too much. Pancakes, waffles, omelets, scramble skillets, and of course biscuits and gravy. My southern heritage was elated that the offered grits on the side...I haven't had good girts since my last trip to Carolina. I ordered the Country Benedict, which was was an open-face biscuit with sausage patties, scrambled eggs, smothered in gravy. Country style potato chunks, too My cholesterol jumped just looking at the platter that hit the table. Grits in a small bowl to accompany. My Co-diner got the "Big Breakfast" that included 2 pancakes, 2 sausage pattys, 2 bacon strips, 2 eggs, and hash browns, Pancakes were plate size, a meal by themselves. We both agreed that the scrambled eggs must be a liquid variety, and gravy seemed to be a mix. The best things we encountered here was the pancakes, and the country potatoes, fried with a bit of seasoning. Everything else seemed to be....well....institutionalized. By that I mean what you might get at a hospital or school cafeteria. The grits that I was so excited about, I'm sure came from an instant envelope. My biscuit was a little hard around the edges like it had matured. Sausage was dry and had a little too much red pepper flakes inside. Service was on the money, our waitress made several revisits and kept our coffee urn filled. I was a little underwhelmed with our food. It was filling and edible, but a revisit is probably unlikely.

Pretty hearty breakfast with generous portions. Reasonably.priced. I had the country fried steak while my daughter had biscuits and gravy. I recommend this place if you are in the KC area.

I was told by someone that this place was much better than First Watch so I took the chance. They didn't even come close. It's lit so brightly that it gave me a headache. The eggs were oily, the sausage was burnt, the biscuits they're lauded for tasted like something from a generic grocery store brand. You're not missing anything here.

3/1/12 edit: I've been converted. My first time here was not at all indicative of the norm. Their biscuits and gravy are still to die for and I'm still not a fan of their waffles/pancakes with fruit but I'd order any of their egg dishes any day of the week. The wait is considerably longer (but often worth it) on weekends when more people are out and about for breakfast but if you manage to get in during the week the service is fantastic and usually very friendly. I would recommend this to anyone who loves good, hearty breakfast foods but don't go on a weekend if you're starving or don't want to have to wait, try to get in on a weekday. Food: Their biscuits and gravy were very very good. The biscuit was fresh and fluffy and the gravy to biscuit ratio was spot on in my book. The rest of the meal was decent, on par with what I'd expect from a mom and pop breakfast place but I expected a little more from them since they're a chain restaurant. My waffle was cooked well but the fruit on top was sparse and some of it was still almost frozen which was not what I'd anticipated. My boyfriend's hunk of ham was huge and well done and the hash browns were just edible. Service: Don't expect to get in and our of here quickly on a weekend morning. My boyfriend and I waited about half an hour for a table and spent a considerable amount of time waiting for food and our for our check when our meal was finished. They were extremely busy but it felt like they could have used some more wait staff to expedite the process. My coffee was often empty and by the time my food came I was starving. Our waitress was nice enough but very curt and obviously in a hurry. Overall: A decent breakfast, one I'm planning to give another try, but nothing you couldn't get at IHOP.

Gotta say this place has about the best biscuits and gravy you can find at a restaurant. The rest of the items on the menu are good sized and taste great. I love a place I can ask for hash browns crispy and they show up perfect! It doesn't get 5 stars because as typical with a place like this a couple can't walk out with a dish each and a cup of joe and tip for under 20 bucks.

  • Erin B.

There were a variety of menu choices. The food had good portion sizes. The food was fresh, hot and flavorful. The service was great. So glad it's conveniently located in Shawnee, Kansas.

  • Laurel S.

Went there for a group lunch. It was fine. I will say that the sticky biscuit was amazing but they only had one left at lunch time so we had to share. The omelet was good. The potatoes were super crispy and I'm not usually a fan of breakfast potatoes. I would go again but I'm not a big fan of breakfast food in general so only if other people wanted to.

  • Tom R.

Food's good but proportions are too large. I wish they would offer smaller proportions without a long explanation (half-order this and hold that) and then the manager has to price it for the waitress. 'BIG'ger is not always better.

  • Veronica H.

We had a good experience. There was a wait for tables, but me and my partner were sat immediately at the bar/counter. Our server was friendly and our food came out quickly. It wasn't as hot as I would have expected, but it wasn't cold either. It is a bit weird that they make pigs in a blanket by wrapping 2 sausage links in a full size pancake instead of wrapping single links in smaller pancakes, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall good.

Alas, I have the need to update my review after the last few visits. My most recent visit was definitely the most disappointing. Average food, and bad service. I'm not sure what part of "I'd like some more water please" she didn't understand while looking straight at me after asking if I needed anything else, but apparently she had more important things to stand around and talk about, than to get my refill. Sorry, but one glass of water (warm, at that) doesn't cut it for even the most basic meals anywhere. Between that, and the NERVE that I apparently had to request a PEPPER shaker when she delivered my meal was too much. None of the tables had pepper on them; whose problem should that be? NOT the customer's! It doesn't need to be *perfect* every time I'm there, but customers should never be treated rudely or as an imposition. Service is everything, especially in a town with thousands of places to eat, and several of those APPRECIATE the business. Sigh. At least at Le Peep, I can sit outside and enjoy the good weather if the server is being rude and ignoring customers. The host at least gave some semblance of caring.

I've been a couple of times now. It's a nice, roomy restaurant. The food has been great each time. This time I had the Mayberry and substituted the potatoes for grits. It was awesome! I typically stay away from breakfast places, but this one is good. I'll have to try it for lunch sometime too.

  • Jennifer T.

This was my firsts time to try it and I really enjoyed it. I had the corn beef hash and thought it was tasty. Next time I will get a biscuit and sausage gravy because they were awesome! The waiter was friendly and attentive and we were offered refills on drinks and to go drinks when we paid our bill. Good start to a much needed breakfast place in the west side of town. Hope they keep it up!

I love biscuits (and gravy). I saw the big red sign that said, "The Big Biscuit," and I knew I had to try this place. I had never heard of the restaurant before, but it is a chain from the Missouri side serving breakfast and lunch. It has a diner feel to it, but in a much cleaner, better laid out way. When you walk in, they have very cool black and whites of the turn of the century happenings in the area. I thought it was a nice touch. The menu is decent sized for having breakfast and lunch only, with so many omelet and pancakes options, I felt excited. I ordered their ever popular half order of biscuits and gravy and my fiance and I shared a side of fruit. The biscuit was delicious. It tasted homemade, buttery, and flaky. It was indeed a big biscuit. The gravy was just OK to me. It didn't wow me at all, but it was still decent. Not only did it not taste homemade, it was not spicy at all. And there were not actual chunks of sausage in it at all. It kind of reminded me of a powdered version that you can make at home. So the sauce wasn't very saucy. The other issue I had was with the fruit bowl. It had strawberries, bananas, grapes, and blueberries. All were pretty good, except the blueberries. They were obviously frozen blueberries because they had a mighty tough outer layer on them. If you are going to serve fruit, please serve fresh fruit. Just saying, I don't feel like paying $4 for a side of fruit if it's not even fresh. Overall, I give four stars for service, friendliness, speed of service, and decent food. I would say it's much better than First Watch, but they need to up their gravy in a hurry.

The menu for this placed looked like a scratch breakfast menu on crack! We were eager to check it out. Don't waste your time - this place is an insult. If it were just the food I'd channel my inner sage, give constructive criticism and compliment the hospitality in some form but this place failed on every level. The hostess could not answer any of our questions adequately. The service was atrocious Management was ineffective. The food was a huge disappointment: The biscuit is mediocre at best and in need of buttermilk and salt. They serve cheap fatty bacon The sausage gravy tasted like store bought gravy and no discernible sausage. My eggs were overcooked, my guest's eggs were undercooked and all the food was cold...yes cold-not even warm-except for the plain oversized bowl of unimaginative grits. We let the server know about the eggs & cold food and she looked at us like we were from Mars and said she'd get the manager. The assistant manager eagerly stated that he completely understood and was "going to make it right." He sent a sticky bun to the table. OK, here's that inner sage-I feel compassion for the staff of this restaurant. It's clear that management has failed these poor kids. From the hostess, the cook(s), the servers and the assistant manager its clear that these most likely well intentioned employees have been grossly shorted the most basic hospitality training.

Stopped here around 10 am on Saturday. The place was very busy, but we got seated within 10 minutes or so. Lot's of choices on the menu with breakfast served all day. I had to try the biscuits and gravy and the wife had the big breakfast which has eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes (hash browns or home fries) and two pancakes. Our food came out pretty quickly as well. The biscuits and gravy were OK, but I like a little more pepper in my gravy to give it some bite. The pancakes were light and fluffy. My wife got a biscuit on the side and it was very light an fluffy as well. Almost too light as it tended to fall apart when you put butter and jelly on it. Service was very good and the food was A-OK. If I was in the area again I'd stop here, but I probably won't go out of my way to come back.

The food is okay, honestly not that impressed. We had to wait over an hour to get our food because our waitress forgot to put in our order in AND THEN when she acted "put out" to bring our food. Simple concept I tell u what I want and you go get it. Not a hard job. Should of saved the 16 dollars and went to McDonalds... If you want spend your entire morning here then come to this restaurant...

Great breakfast place! Good amount for your money & it tastes wonderful. Really enjoyed the breakfast burrito, the only drawback was that it was a little greasy.

Been here twice now. Crazy busy both times and have had to wait @ least 20 min to be seated. They are a higher price point for breakfast than the avg place. If you get scramblers or the french toast worth it. Omelets are nothing special. Service has been just avg, they are definately in the weeds so wait time for drinks, food, etc is common. Ambience, somewhat cold. Owner is great and always there. Worth a try if you have time to wait and you like scramblers

It's very average at best but nothing I crave or get silly about taking people too. I have been four times now and truthfully, IHOP puts together a better breakfast to taste. The service is always annoyingly good which I truly appreciate but I don't like the wait staff who literally put on a a show with a false behavior, I see right through that act. I wish it rocked but when given a choice, I will head down the road to First Watch or find me a Waffle House.

update after my 2nd visit; Waitress wasn't rude...but not friendly either, i guess she seemed like she just didn't care and was counting down the time till she went home. Would you like a refill? well i did want a refill but you ignored me during my meal so asking me when you bring the check doesn't really help much. miss....miss....waitress....waitress....oh i guess i'm invisible. The omlett was great, the sticky biscuit was bad, barely warmer than room temp The biscuit well they were busy so i guess they were rushing cause it was undercooked and just fell apart when you touched it. sum it up Omlet - A+ Desert - C- Biscuit - F (kinda funny since the name is "BIG BISCUIT" and they serve small biscuits and under cook them (by the way, their gravy is nasty) Service - F- i wish there was a grade lower but there isn't. the service was so terrible and the employees don't care 1 bit about customers. I usually tip 20% and tipped 25% last visit here!!! This trip i didn't bother tipping, i figure the waitress didn't bother paying attention to us at all so she probably didn't notice the lack of tip either since it wasn't displayed on her phone which was all she seemed to pay attention too over there in the corner. Read through the other reviews, bad service reported all over them.....does the owner or manager of this restaurant read these? your food is good enough to bring people in, but your service is driving us away!!! Read my original review, i had a good waitress and i loved the place!!! 3 stars cause the omlet was great, but wow it should probably be 2 stars

Best breakfast around. The wait staff is top notch and the wait after ordering is short. Excellent cooks ensure your satisfaction and the menu is very comprehensive. No other place comes close IMHO.

Service is friendly and prompt. Always with hot coffee. I always get the benedict breakfast. If you love biscuits, over eazy eggs, country potatoes and sausage patties then imagine all that covered in creamy gravy and you are in heaven. You will love this place.

So, we came in and two employees were up front talking negatively about what-I can't remember. They finished the "blah blah blahing " before greeting us. We were sat right away. I went to use the restroom. When I returned, our waters were already on the table. The menu seemed fine, avg. price was around $8 a plate. I choose a feta cheese and spinach omelette . Then.....we waited and waited and waited, menus folded at the side of the table. Another server finally made eye contact so I asked, "Could you tell our server we're ready to order?" Another minute went by and this really sad woman came out. I felt that something horrible had happened to her life...like a death. She should not have been at work....but hey, as anyone who has ever been a server knows: leave your troubles at the time clock....you are welcome to pick them back up when you clock out. We were sooooo hungry. Food presentation was precise; reminded me of "cookie cutter cookies". There was some feta cheese sprinkled on top of my pre-fab eggs. The potatoes bites clearly were out of a frozen package. The spinach was fresh, and sparse. After our meal, the MOST ADORABLE manager happenstanced by our table asking how we liked it. I explained that this Feta and spinach omelette was a disappointing experience . He squatted down to listen to me with concern explaining that 1 ounce in and 1 ounce on top was the Feta rule. I told him the cook must have missed the cheese completely on the inside. He thanked me for my feedback saying his cooks had been working there a number of years and there was no excuse for this. He went right back to the kitchen, as the doors were closing, I heard him telling them what this customer shared. He was not messing around. Did I mention his sparkling eyes and nice smile? ........oh yes, back to reality....I'm thinking if I had shared with him, the snarky remarks about the blah blah blahing when we walked in and/or his very sad waitress ...he'd have taken all that and corrected it too. We probably won't go back because feta cheese there or not....it was just too pre-fabricated for our desires. ......but the manager on duty was refreshing!

Don't go to the mo. Big biscut and expect the same thing here. Portions are much smaller here and the flavor is not as good. Better than most joco spots but if you have never been to the one on 40 highway you dont know what you are missing. After bring this to the mangement attention i was told i was lying and they were all made the same. I will not go back.
