Not a bad place. The waitress was very pushy and rushing me to order 2 minutes after I sat down. Got another waitress and she was awesome. Food was decent, pulled chicken and vegetables with a cream sauce on biscuits.

Waitress was nice and friendly, but the food wasn't very good!

Stopped on 2 trips through and had the bacon double cheeseburger - excellent both times. Friendly waitresses. Great service.

I'm not sure why people complain about everything? I thinking that people just love to I suppose. I was laid over here in salina tonight and yes I drive a truck. But I have noticed that some of the other chains were not well established in the minds of others. Well I agreed.. But this one is , or while I was there, in perfect attitude! Walk in was greeted happily. Salad bar was chilled. Recommendation on chicken penne was very well in doubt a great choice. All saying is I have no complaints here folks!. Ps one more star is too perfect! Lol

The important thing to remember is that you're at a truck stop in the middle of Kansas. With this knowledge you should absolutely NOT order any kind of sea food. Stick with what fat truckers love... I.e. chicken fried steak, bacon, eggs, pot roast etc. It's hearty, heavy, and loaded with salt. But remember... you're in the middle of Kansas.

The food is overpriced and not fit to eat. No one in our group was able to finish the garbage they served us. The salad bar looked really sketchy as well. It's hard to say which was worse, the food or the slow service. Everyone in the place was rude. The "kids eat free" advertisement is no longer honored. They said that they ran out of kids menus, so they weren't offering free kids meals.

We're not from this area so we didn't know it when we walked in for breakfast this morning, but the Iron Skillet has only been open for five days. Since it's brand-spankin' new, they still seem a little rough around the edges--servers are inexperienced and the whole staff seems a bit uncomfortable, but these are things that should easily be worked out. We had the breakfast buffet which was pretty good even though we're not really "buffet folks". There's also a lunch buffet and a full menu of American cuisine including breakfast foods, burgers, steaks and even liver and onions. And, since it's adjacent to and part of the Petro fuel complex, there's a U-shaped counter that's just for professional drivers. This place is an okay stop right off of I-70 for a quick bite.

BEWARE!! Went in for a after bars meal and ended up waiting nearly 45 minutes for our food at a time that there were only a handful of customers. I had steak and eggs. Steak was cooked right but was most like steak flavored chewing gum, scrambled eggs were a but runny, home fries were a bit raw. Coffee was awful. My friend ordered 4 eggs scrambled but only got enough for maybe 2 and told the waitress about it, she claimed that it just looks that way. Next day, I feel sick and find myself keeping a close distance to the bathroom. To sum it up, terrible (first time ever of having a complaint about any restaurant)

Told us to sit any where and then waited for 20 min to ever give our drink order, but once a new waitress came in she took our order right away and brought us our drinks, she was more disappointed about our wait then we were and was very friendly. We had the buffet and it was great. Fried chicken, meatloaf, real mash potatoes and more. Over all it was a good dinner.

Do yourself a favor and drive a few blocks to DECENT food! We decided to stop in since it was so close to the hotels in the area. Bad choice....bad, bad choice. The menu had the typical diner selections. I was pretty sure that the salad bar and a burger were safe - WRONG. The salad bar was disgusting - I pulled a moldy strawberry out and showed it to the waitress. She said, "oh well, that happens". I sent my burger back uneaten as it was so hard it clanked on the plate. The entire table behind us sent their order back as well. The waitress just laughed and said it happens all the time, but her husband is the cook so she wasn't going to upset him (well, similar words were used but you get the point).

Had a great breakfast! The chicken fried steak is one of the best I ever ate. Friendly, courteous service too.

We were told to sit anywhere after having to ask if we wait or sit. We sat down with our two children under 2. Waited 15 minutes while being passed by several times with still no menus. I finally got up and asked for our menus and the waitress said "let me see if I can scrounge up some crayons". Took another 15 minutes to have our drinks and food ordered. After already waiting 30 mins for just the basics we waited another 40 MINUTES for our food. Which were quite simple sandwiches, kids Mac n cheese (which was boxed) and a side of mashed potatoes. The food was not worth the wait and when she brought our food we had to ask her to go get us silverware. We had to wait to eat our food until we received our utensils. Absolutely the most insane wait times. We got their at 7:20(ish) and didn't get out of their until 10pm. There was maybe 10 people in the restaurant so I was confused. The ONLY good thing is that when checking out the cashier saw my husband was active duty military and courteously gave us military discount with out us asking and thanked him for his service. Luckily this was just a traveling through stop.

My family and I were staying at the La Quinta and we're looking for a non fast food type place to eat so we took a chance on the Iron Skillet. Since we were traveling with our dogs my family stayed in the hotel while I went to order food for takeout. Staff: they were very nice and accommodating. It always seems like a hassle to order take out and have to check to make sure everything is good before leaving. There were a few issues, like a side was missing, and I had to remind them about getting some sauce to go. But they were very nice in resolving those minor issues. I also forgot to order drinks to go before leaving and the manager gave them to me on the house. That was very much appreciated. Food: my wife got the sirloin steak with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. The steak was good. It's the kind of steak you expect to get at a diner. It was tender enough to cut with plastic utensils. I ordered the pepper steak over rice. I wasn't completely dissatisfied but I wish I would have gotten the sirloin as well. It looked nothing like the picture, instead of small cuts of steak it was more like pieces of roast, like a bunch of "threads". I figured I'd give it a chance anyway. Again, I should have gone with a sirloin.
