Of all the Starbucks I've been to in Kansas City, this location is only 1 of 2 Starbucks that does not smell like burnt coffee. My biggest pet-peeve about the Starbucks chain in general is that whenever you leave, your clothes smell like burnt coffee and the smell lingers all day. This location smelled clean and fresh. I appreciate this a lot! This Starbucks is actually pretty large. There is a ton of seating and the area is very spacious. My passion iced tea was delivered quickly and their bathroom were clean. I left happy and smelling great!

Fast and friendly. Easy walk from the Sprint campus and plenty of seating for meetings.

No drive thru. Large interior, many electric outlets, comfortable seating (the couch inside this store makes it 5-star!) and very respectable service. I go to a Starbucks every day so I experience many of them - this is my favorite in the KCMO area.

I'm not down this way very often but spent a good hour catching up with an old friend here some time ago and found it to be a great spot.

Open early! I was born with the unfortunate affliction called "morning person". On Sunday mornings when my favorite local roaster isn't open until 7AM this is my coffee shop of choice. The staff here is friendly and can handle a crowd pretty proficiently. Their Pike Place Roast has tasted fresh brewed each time. They have all the baked goods and breakfast sandwich offerings as the stand alone stores. TIP: On snowy days the steep Eastern driveway can be slippery. Use the West entrance by Whole Foods where it's flat.

In particular I love this Starbucks. The drinks are high quality and the staff very efficient. It's an excellent place for a short business meeting. In warm weather you can sit outside. Many other local coffee shops offer very spotty quality. And the local coffee shops seem to go in and out of business on a regular basis. By contrast you always know what to expect from Starbucks.

This SBUX is enormous. And apparently it used to be even bigger. The cashier told me it used to be twice as big until the walled it off on one side. Cool. I guess. Maybe they could try to stuff more employees in it so I could actually get my drink in a timely manner. Anyway, after the small talk I ordered a tall soy latte. Since there was only one employee working (it was about 7PM) and two people were in line, I waited for my latte for about 7 minutes (which is unacceptable according to the SBUX Corporate Code). After she put her fingers in my cup (I hate that!) to hand it to the invisible barista, she set it on the counter where it sat and, had I been in Seattle where I normally reside, mold would have formed inside the cup. After staring at her for a bit she finally came over and pushed a button or two. A standard soy latte was the result. Yay.

I asked the girl with the glasses to fill out the cup with espresso shots. She gave me with half the cup empty. When I confronted her that it was half empty and she told me she can't give me more espresso shots than that with an attitude. I'm going to contact the corporate to find out why.

This is a large Starbucks. No drivethru. I think all Starbucks are the same, aren't they? Give or take some square footage you walk into Starbucks you see the cookie cutter, chic, laid back coffee shop. Mixed coffees are excellent. I've become a fan of the black iced tea, unsweetened of course.
