Even though the streets were covered in ice & snow, Shawn & I decided to have breakfast at First Watch. What a fantastic way, to start the day (even if it was almost noon! LOL) Our waitress, Karamie, was totally awesome! Our previous visit, the waiter we had was rather odd ("hey, my name is *can't remember*, & it's my birthday!" What??? LOL) Karamie was very attentive, & on the game! I always like to give daily specials a try ... the Cinnabon pancake, with scrambled eggs & bacon, was the perfect antidote for a snowy morning. Coffee & OJ were spot on. A perfect breakfast. Now, if they could get a liquor license, & have Bloody Marys on tap, woah!!!!!! :-)

Tasty breakfast, good service and nice deals. I usually avoid First Watch simply because I am not usually up on Sundays in time to beat the church crowd rush that equals extremely long waits. This weekend we were up bright and early and arrived at First Watch around 8am. Our timing was perfect, it was busy but not too busy. We got a comfy booth and our waitress was kind and attentive. I loved the Key West Crepeggs that I ordered (save the large amount of butter pre-added to my english muffin by the kitchen staff) and my husband liked his banana-waffle special. We were offered drinks for the road by the waitress (a nice perk) and our bill came out to a very low $11 due to having a free birthday entree. Definitely sign up for their mailing list in order to score that deal around your birthday.

The food is fresh and good, staff is friendly, and fast service. I like all of their dishes the healthy ones, French toast, bacon, eggs, omelets, sandwiches, cheeseburgers, salads. I can't complain, something for everyone.

My husband and I stopped in this morning since we were hungry and not sure what else was around. I have eaten at another First Watch in Olathe, Kansas over maybe 5 years ago and noticed the menu to be totally revamped. The push for healthier eating is commendable; however, the food was only palatable for what we ate fore breakfast. I ordered the Swiss cheese omelet which I asked for extra cheese in place of the onions. The omelet was bland tasting, and overkill on the mushrooms. The best thing on my plate was the potatoes, and even these were a bit dry. My husband had the pancakes since he was not impressed with anything on the menu, and he said they were okay tasting; however, it stated it is hard to screw up pancakes. We would recommend this place for those looking wanting fresh, healthier alternatives to eating. It just wasn't to our liking. Service was very good. Hostess was very attentive and friendly. Food was served hot and she made sure we needed for nothing. This place does serve assorted creamers for the coffee; which, I was elated since the coffee was a bit strong. Overall, for the price I was disappointed to say the least, and this will be the last time we eat at this place.

I have never had a bad experience here. The bacon onion hash is delicious I usually add on a piece of French toast! Fat girl problems. If I'm there for lunch I go with the BLTE with tomato basil soup YUM!! Food and service all around GREAT!

Better to cook breakfast at home. The people are very nice but the food is so basic so not really worth it.

This is a chain restaurant and I usually don't frequent chain restaurants in Kansas City. After all, why would you when there are so many great locally-owned restaurants? Ahh, but I digress. This First Watch is pretty close to home, the breakfast items at the First Watch chain are fairly diverse and reasonably-priced, so they're not a bad choice if they're handy and you're hungry. This particular restaurant has a nice area out back where you can eat outside which is a major plus. Today, the hubby and I stopped here for some breakfast while running some errands. We had a 2-for-1 coupon, so our tasty breakfast, served quickly by a friendly waitress while we dined outside was less than 15 bucks including a nice tip. What a steal!
(4)Alex B.
I came here twice with an out-of-town guest, since it was near her hotel. Both dishes (breakfast burrito and a breakfast scamble, I forgot the exact names) were really good, but for someone from southern California they were a little bland. Better with tons of hot sauce. Plus, it's cheap and you get a lot for your money. The service was great; we never wanted for anything and even paying the bill went remarkably quickly on a semi-busy weekday morning. I would definitely come back here to try their lunch dishes.
(3)Grace B.
Food is excellent. They are very accommodating about substitutions. Only complaint is with the water service and taste. One day we had to ask multiple times for a pitcher and today it was getting a water glass. Water has a chlorine taste which I can't get down so I stick to coffee.

A national chain of little restaurants with hole-in-the-wall locations that give the impression that they're a local institution. It's breakfast and lunch, relatively simple stuff. Their menu is broken up into Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch options. They have a good selection of omelettes, some tasty pancakes, and waffles. They're only unique offering would be their awkwardly-named "Crepeggs", which is pretty much what it sounds like: a crepe mixed with eggs. Sort of an omelette/crepe mashup, if you will. Their Chickichanga is famously bomb-diggity-yo-yo, as is the Bubba's Benny. Also! They have an outdoor patio which is great on warm mornings and early afternoons. All in all, its always a solid breakfast experience, and a fresher alternative to IHOP, Denny's, etc.
(3)Ken L.
There are several First Watch's around, but this is the one I've been to the most. This used to be my first choice for breakfast before I discovered Eggtc. Pretty basic. Good breakfast food at good prices. It really boils down to that. Weekends sometimes have a short wait. Free coffee available while you wait.
(4)MIchael C.
Great breakfast! lets bring back the hash browns though, not a fan of breakfast potatoes! just dont let your kid play by the back door and opn/shut it cuz the old tall bald guy will really take offense!
(4)Jack M.
I have been here twice. The first time it was absolutely horrible, the food was disgusting and the service was close to the worst I have ever had. The second time the food was cold but they were kind enough to remake it for me though even remade it wasn't very warm. The service the second time was decent but nothing worth bragging about. Overall I'd still choose denny's over this place.

This is my very first Yelp Review so I'm gonna start with the First Meal of the day...BREAKFAST ï¼¼(^o^)ï¼ So I've noticed nearly all the First Watch locations receive a 4 star review...but I find it almost appalling the 95th location doesn't get a 5 star rating!! I'm gonna be straight with everyone here..I'm a local chef so I'm not gonna BS anyone..does First Watch provide the most amazing culinary experience ever....I leave that up to you...but in my opinion what they do do, they do VERY WELL and have seemed to master consistency throughout their various cozy and convenient locations.. But this is a review of the 95th location...and what sets them apart you may ask?? If I had to sum it up in just a few words... TRUE HOSPITALITY EXCELLENCE!!! My last visit to the 95th store was just a few weeks ago. My cousin was getting married and I had family from out of town that was hungry for a nice breakfast joint. So naturally I suggested First Watch 95th! My lil sister Sammy, our parents and our cousin Danielle and her husband Matt from Michigan all met up before our busy day of wedding celebrations and the like to devour pancakes, bacon n' eggs, massive amounts of coffee and my personal First Watch favorite and Eggsclusive the Chickichanga! Now I said I wasn't gonna BS ya...I'll keep it real...a long time friend of mine is the Assistant GM there...we met a long time ago in a galaxy far far away...called Olive Garden in Olathe...where we started our hospitality endeavors before moving on to the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel working and honing our culinary skills and close friendship... Years later now we still remain close friends and I'll always support him like he's supported me...and that means taking the bad with the good and keeping each other accountable if need be..Fortunately though this review is one of praise and encouragement! Ever wonder why the 95th store is the bomb? Has that living room feel to it that perhaps the others stores lack? It's because you literally just walked into their home! And ur their guests and whatever it takes to bring a smile to ur face and start ur day off right...Bryan and his entire staff will go above and beyond to do every time you visit. In short they bring hospitality back to the Hospitality Industry... Now let's admit folks..as consumers and patrons we see things differently...we have a tendency to criticize and perhaps rightfully so...after all...we're paying our hard earned money for goods and services right? Should we expect anything less than excellence ? But often times what we don't see is the bustling kitchen line in a frenzy..almost in complete panic desperately trying to keep up with the constant bombardment of our demands...and the one man who comes alongside his staff, dawns a magic apron and jumps in on the line to lend a helping hand in that most desperate hour of need... When was the last time your manager jumped in and helped you out at work? ...When was the last time you heard the words "hey let me give you hand with that!" or "great job everyone! Let me know if there's anything I can do for ya! Keep up the great work!" That's an everyday reality for those who work alongside Bryan at the 95th First Watch.. And let me tell you from the viewpoint of one who gets a sneak peek from time to time behind the scenes and has managed people and kitchens that's the exact kinda Excellence in Attitude that spills its way out into the dining room...onto our plates..into every cup of coffee we sip..every smile we receive and is the single most important and defining catalyst of our dining experience that is unfortunately more and more hard to find! Yes...that morning spent having breakfast with my family was special..and yes...Bryan did take a moment out of his hectic schedule to come over and introduce himself to my family and share a lil bit about First Watch and the menu...But shortly after he returned to work alongside his family and team bringing quite possibly your family that very same EXCELLENCE in experience! And this review is of the whole store...not just Bryan!! If you were to ask Bryan or try to praise him he'd just outrightly say..."I've got an excellent crew! It's because of them I can stand and do what I do!" So from the bottom of my heart and empty coffee cup I salute you First Watch 95th...and Bryan too! (-_^)/...and formally say THANK YOU for every Awesome Experience of Excellence you've provided me, my friends and family , and the countless other satisfied FirstWatchFolks that get to share their special moment in your living room! Salute!!

I am going 4 on this one! I save 5 stars for perfection and must eats! Great breakfast, staff is awesome! Love the Club sandwich with Turkey, bacon avocado! My tip is order full sandwich with soup because the half and soup is almost same price. This sandwich is BIG and tasty! All the breakfasts are very good.
(4)Jennifer D.
I've been a fan of First Watch for a long time. Their food is delicious and the staff are always friendly. They do get busy so get there early or be prepared to wait.
(4)Anthony R.
The eggs in this Benedict were well beyond poached. The waitress was quick to take notice and had the cook make a few more eggs that were poached correctly. Got a side of fruit instead of potatoes, and the bowl only had one bad piece of melon. Their OJ was fresh and tasty! Probably won't come back as they didn't pass the litmus test for a good breakfast IMO.

headed here for lunch today to celebrate my 2-year-old's birthday with a friend and her daughter. we were seated in a nice private-ish area so we wouldn't disturb/distract the other customers. our server was very patient with us and all of our requests/needs for our kids. she got their food out pretty quickly so they could start enjoying their lunch. ours arrived shortly after. I got the half sandwich/salad combo that was even better than I was anticipating (I usually get the same thing and went out of my comfort zone!) we had a nice, relaxing lunch and our server was helpful and patient. this might be my favorite first watch location now!
(4)Stephen H.
Yes, First Watch is a nationwide chain, but did you know it started here? They focus on breakfast and lunch and are closed by two. They focus on fast service, having an internal rule to have food to your table from within 10 minutes of the first time the server comes to your table. Friendly, overly attentive wait staff and dependably good food.
(4)Kay L.
Good, reliable breakfast place. You know they are going to be slammed during the Sunday brunch slot, but the wait is generally pretty short anyway because their service is so fast. Nice selection of hot teas (since I'm not a coffee drinker) and the eggs are actually served over easy when requested that way. The "Bubba's Benny" is the best of both worlds -- eggs served over biscuits & sausage a la benedict, but with sausage gravy instead of the hollandaise. It probably isn't doing my cholesterol levels any good, but it sure is yummy.
(4)Ryan A.
I don't hate First Watch, but I don't really see what's so great about it, either. Food is pretty standard, and First Watch is yet another participant in the ongoing movement away from hash browns and toward "brunch potatoes" or "breakfast potatoes" which appears to be sweeping hash browns under the rug. I swear, if this continues I'm starting a Save the Hash Browns charity. Standard Benny is... standard, I guess. Average. Not enough acid in the Hollandaise, but there pretty much never is. I avoid the omelets entirely, they just don't look very good, but the Sonoran fritatta is actually pretty ok. Bubba's Benny is decent. I've heard good things about the French toast but haven't tried it. I usually only end up here at someone else's suggestion, and it's always perfectly fine. Prices are reasonable, service is typically pretty good. Still, wouldn't go out of my way.
(3)Bill M.
Got seated instantly @ 8:30 on a Sunday. Host & waitress were great. Gonna try the veggie omlet this time; wife is getting her usual fresh fruit crepes. Food was served reasonably fast & hot. Omelet was good, but could have used some more cheese. Crepe was great, and had different fruit from the college location.

After a few breakfast fails on the drive to KC, from Seattle, it was refreshing to have a nice start to my first day here. This is a local chain apparently, and the food, portions and service were indicative of a well-oiled brunch machine. I ordered the Bubba's Bennie which arrived piping hot, with fresh fluffy biscuits and two near perfect sunny-side up eggs, just the way I like it. The waitress was very personable and helpful. Hopefully this chain stays local and doesn't sway from what's made them successful and reputable, great food and exceptional service!
