Great food. The brunch lunch on Sundays us the best!

Whether it's a family celebration or a business luncheon, Granite City has a spectacular menu selection !!! The Sunday brunch is great, too !!! If you visit the Olathe location, ask for Jeremiah or Christian ... They are 2 of my favorite servers !!!

I took my mom and brother's family here this most recent Sunday night (3/29). The 5 of us (4 adults and a car seat) fit nicely in one of their booths. It was a nice atmosphere and you could watch the game going on - but it didn't overwhelm the conversation. My mom and I both had their cheeseburger, and the others had a sandwich. I liked my cheeseburger - the freshly-baked and grilled bun was spectacular - and the fries were fine - they have the very thin type. They had a huge selection of stuff on their menu and while we didn't order any alcoholic drinks this visit, it looked like they had a fine selection. What was nice to me was that we were able to get out of there for under $50 for the 4 of us including our drink, tax, and tip.

Love this place. Flat bread pizza's and quesadillas are great.

I've hit up the 119th location of Granite City and have been pretty pleased. It's a little established as the other corporate competitors are but this Granite felt different to me. Each time the bartender and waiters/waitresses have been extremely nice. The sandwiches are pretty good and the beers come in a nice cold glass. I was looking for a hefeweizen (which seem hard to come by in some spots around KC) and John was happy that I asked for it. Upon asking, our northwest connection was made and I continued to have a great night.

We dined here on a Friday evening at about 8 p.m., which in my mind isn't terribly late, but the suburban crowd had died down considerably and the atmosphere felt like 10 p.m., not 8... a bit disorienting. We were at Granite City with family, so a table of 4 adults and one infant. The server expanded the table when we sat down, which made the distance between us seem expansive. A bit too expansive, in a way that I felt like my Dad was a mile away. Not the warmest dining experience, and kinda tough to maintain a good conversational flow. Our servers were friendly and the atmosphere was otherwise pretty nice. The menu here is like a book, if you are looking for variety, you will find it here. The beers, brewed on site, were ok. I was pretty excited to get my hands on a fresh beer, but the light variety I had was pretty flavorless. The food was ok as well. I had a portabella burger with fries, which was good, but nothing special. The fam seemed to feel the same way, all of us had good food, but nothing to write home about. I didn't realize that this was part of a 30+ Midwestern chain, so maybe the blandness of the restaurant can be attributed to the corporate nature of this place. Our experience wasn't bad, but this is the type of restaurant that embodies what I think of when I see the 2-star phrase, "Meh, I've experienced better."

I have been wanting to check this place out for a while, but it was just...ok. The service was really great, and the atmosphere is nice too. But, the food was VERY average, and had a bit of a salty/prepared flavor. And pricey... We ended up spending $40 on lunch, but we did get an app which was $10! Oh well, it was my hubby's b-day so we "splurged". So, our appetizer was the artichoke dip with crostini bread. This was fairly good. I had the southwestern chicken salad and the french onion soup. The salad was average but the soup was not good at all. Just kind of tasteless and brothy. I do want to try the beer, will have to go back for that.

OK...I've resisted downgrading my views on GCFB in writing, but tonight I'm forced to. I've been a 'fan' since their first location in St. Cloud MN. I knew one of the founders and was a patron of his previous brewery. We have history. Although I've had many experiences in many of their locations, let's limit this review to the Olathe GCFB. Tonight I didn't want a lot of food and on previous visits I experienced fairly respectable Reuben sandwich platters, but have in the past, had to seemingly fight with the kitchen to get anything other than a tepid limp side of fries. Complain to the server, send them back, get them right... Oh, we'd send them back to the kitchen and argue with the staff that these had been pre-fried and kept under a 'heat lamp' and ask that they be re-made freshly and served crisp. When our complaining brought out results the fries were indeed wonderful. Never really had a problem with the Reuben. The bar servers seem to think quite well of themselves. And tend to favor one side of the bar, so pay attention to where they hang out... Tonight I went in, not wanting a full meal as I was alone, I ordered the Chicken Tenders app. While the description didn't warn me in advance, they (3 thin strips) arrived on a bed of--yes--limp tepid fried. The tenders were crisp and flavorful--all three strips of them, but the fries took me back to past visits. I didn't argue with my server, Anna, as she had already dis-allowed/ignored my request for ketchup for my fries. (Thank you to the random server who obtained a bottle for me after I'd asked Anna some time before.) Oh well, sorry things haven't gotten better. The only advantage is that it's close to home...See you M U C H later...

I honestly don't know why the reviews aren't that great for this place. The food is always good, as is the service. Brunch, lunch, and dinner, whatever you are going, I always end up having a good time. They have good late happy hour specials and I'd recommend the BBQ flat bread pizza and the Idaho nachos (with a side of granite city dip).

Stopped in at the Granite City in Olathe last Saturday afternoon for lunch while trying to kill some time before I could check into my hotel. I'd been to one other Granite City location before, so I figured that it would be a good choice. Sure enough, this Granite City was a winner as well. I sat in the bar area, where several college football games were on the flatscreen TVs facing the bar. I had a couple of "The Northern" lagers with an "Overlake" sandwich, chips, and a great cup of chicken noodle soup. The food (and beer) really hit the spot and I don't think you'd go wrong with anything on GC's menu. Between the food, the good service, and the comfortable ambience, I'm glad that I stopped in and would heartily recommend any Granite City for lunch or dinner.

I came here a few weeks ago for a work dinner with about 15 people. The service was proficent, we asked lots of questions and the server actually had suggestions and an opinion. I like that. Don't tell me everything is good unless there are only a few things on the menu. We ordered several flatbreads as appetizers and they were all really good. I would probably order that as my meal next time. I'm not a huge beer drinker, but I had their wheat beer and it was good. Everyone at the table seemed to be enjoying the beer. I was the only chick. I had the salmon which was decent but nothing special. It did make me laugh that each entree has a recommended beer. Trying to do the wine thing. I would definitely come back. This would be a nice place to go with our family. Lot's of different choices and a laid back atmosphere.

I'm wavering between two and three stars. Food was okay but nothing spectacular. The bacon cheeseburger had real bacon so that helps. I was with a group an ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and ice water. I never got ketchup or mustard and had to ask three times to get water. Usually they bring water if you want it or not. I'll give them three stars and chalk it up to a bad day for the server. But it will be a while before I go back.

My first time here and not quite what i suspected. Chelsea our server was great! I had the cuban sandwich with an oatmeal stout, yummy. My gf had the classic cheeseburger with their american lager. We also dabbled in their chips/salsa which were good but not $8 good. Im not a fan of places that only sell their type of beer. No bud light or miller lite or any kind of craft beer, not my scene. It was a good first try and last.

The service here was excellent. The staff was so attentive and friendly. We started with Idaho Nachos. I've had better cheese fries and these were not warm enough. There was unmelted cheese in parts. I had the Maple Pepper Bacon Tomato Flatbread and it was so delicious. The bacon was a nice combination of slightly sweet and peppery. Jeremy had a Bedda Chedda Bacon Burger and said it was alright but messy. I only feel like giving it 3 stars though because there are better places to eat. We don't drink so we go to breweries for the food. This was al right but higher priced for what it was. Our bill for two with an appetizer usually comes to about $33 at most places, this one was $44.

I like the atmosphere here and the service has always been great, I just don't like the food. I don't know what the deal is. I loved it when they first opened but now I'm not feeling it. I've been here a couple times in the past 6 months and I've had the shrimp tacos and bruschetta salad, I didn't like any of it. It wasn't terrible it just wasn't that good. I want to like this place. :(

This place is great, every time I've been here the food was delicious, hot and fresh. Chicken tortilla soup on Thursdays is so good I haven't had any better than this place. The menu changes between locations, overall a great place to eat take your family and have some great beer and relax.

This was the first time I've eaten at a Granite City, and I'll be back. All my food was pretty good, but the spinach artichoke dip alone will make me put this on my Outlook calendar as a regularly occurring event. I'm not even a fan of spin dip, but theirs is outstanding. It tastes very fresh and they add a dollop of some fresh tomato concoction to the top that brings amazing flavor. They also serve it with a deliciously seasoned flat bread instead of chips (boring) or pita (barf). Their beer cheddar soup is very smooth and delicious as well. Only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars is the fries that came with my meal were not hot and sort of tough. Service was good, ambience is nice.

I have been to Granite City several times but my boyfriend had never been there so we decided to go after I got off work. The staff was incredibly nice and very concerned with making sure we were happy. The beer I chose was the light beer ( can't remember name) and Scott had the oat meal stout. I loved mine and It was very flavorful! I had a cheese burger which was awesome! I like a simple burger where you can taste the beef. It was really good. Nice place good food and great service!

Lunch with co-workers. Decent menu and prices, but they forgot one meal and the rest of the table had finished by the time his burger arrived. No apology from the server, no manager involvement, and no changes made to the bill. Always had mixed service when I've dined here and it seems to be declining.

I was here 2 weeks ago. Food was delish and the service deserved 5 stars. Tonight is my son's birthday so we were thrilled that he wanted to come here. Half of our table was sticky and the other half was just plain dirty. I still had to clean my own table with a sticky and dirty rag. I'm still waiting to hear from the waitress or the manager how they'll make our visit her a great one. So disappointed. We've been waiting for our food for about 20 minutes and we only saw our waitress once because we tracked her down.

I love GC! I used to work there, so I can tell you 1st hand that nearly everything is made fresh and the back of house is always kept clean. The management is meticulous about everything staying clean, food temperature being extra safe, expiration dates always being safe, etc. Not to mention the Bloody Mary's are perfectly spicy with a little horseradish kick and the bruchetta salad, shrimp tacos and Sunday brunch are reason enough to keep me coming back. If you are looking for a local brunch spot, definitely give their buffet a shot...and don't miss the fresh made scones, cheesy hashbrowns or thick cut bacon. Yumm!

Didn't have a bad experience here... they let us make reservations short notice, but were strict about it.. has to be more than 8 people. They let us try beer samples. I didn't find any to be delicious, but the Northern was tolerable. They were also kinda slow about bringing those out. They let 2 of us split a dinner and presented it on two plates very special like. We each got a pickle! I just expected them to bring a big plate of food and a lil empty plate for sharing. It doesn't take much to woo me, folks. Chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. Was supposed to come with honey mustard, but never was brought out. Wrap was pretty standard and sweet potato fries are just by default good. Friend had salmon and said it was actually quite good. I didn't hear anyone complaining about the food, so I think that's a good sign. (good) These guys helped us out in a pinch. Since our previous plans fell through. Waiter was nice and we were seated promptly. Oh, their side walk wasn't cleared. It had layers of ice and snow from 2 days prior. Not cool. Bathrooms are kinda dumpy too.

We had not eaten at the Olathe restaurant in over 13 years. We were seated quickly. The waiter was good. The appetizer (Idaho nachos) came quickly and were very good. When our entres came, both my wife's fries and mine were cold. Not Luke warm. Cold. We sent them back and received replacements after we were almost finished with our main dish. My wife's fish (she ordered fish & chips) wasn't very hot either but she was hungry and ate them. It also took 3 attempts to get apple juice. We told the waiter about our issues and he sent the manager over. The mgr was very nice and comped my wife's meal. The place wasn't busy - on a Saturday night. There's no reason for food that cold to come out of the kitchen.

I used to really love this place! The past few times I've visited, I felt like my food was some overpriced frozen dinner and not the quality that I used to expect. The service is excellent here though.

Never heard of it, but thought I would give it a try - BARRAMUNDI - great fish. This was my first experience with Granite City. Great staff, acknowledgement of being first timers by management is a nice touch. Didn't feel like brewery, though obviously it is. Not too expensive and the food is very good. I would recommend it, and look forward to returning myself.

I just came back from brunch. The food quality was horrible. There were about 10 choices for food (salad, French toast, bacon, etc) , egg benedictine and meat station. You could order omelet also. Only grape and cantelop were availabe for fruit. Egg benedictine was over done and it the egg was made ahead and kept in a warmer. I ordered omelet which was also over cooked. No yogurt, cereal, juice, or oatmeal. For $15 per person, there are much better options.

It's been five years since I've been here. It was just ok then and it's just ok to me now. I guess I'm just very picky on food. I took my mom to lunch today and her prime rib very extremely fatty, yes prime rib is fatty but not this bad. I had a bruschetta salad, it was ok. We were supposed to receive a cup of soup a head of time before our food and it was delivered one right after the other. Not sure what happened or if it was just the service I was not happy with. We were never checked on, not once. I had to bring up the fact the sandwich was not that great. Manager was amazing and took care of it. We never expected the meal to be taken care of, but it worked out. I still do not recommend the prime rib sandwich or the bruschetta salad, unless you love balsamic; a ton of it. At this time I can not say if I will return or not. Im sure there are other good meals they offer but with my current experience I'm saying no. Thank you manager for getting involved an caring, that was the best part. That could be a good reason for return....with a different server.

While visiting the Kansas City area for an interview I made it a point to spend the little free time I had trying to sample local beer. My gracious guide took me to Granite City to quell my thirst. I didn't have any food here but the Brewery part of the name provided me with a flight of eight different beers to sample. While each tasting glass was only 3 or 4 ounces, it was more than enough to give me a good idea of the beers made here. I particularly liked their Pale Ale and IPA as well as the fantastic Stout. There's beers for almost any pallet, even those used to pedestrian American lagers. And the really nice part? It was only $5 for the whole flight. Now for the small downside: we sat at the bar at the end opposite the door and had to practically flag down the bartender any time I needed something or had a question. To be honest, I felt rather ignored. Just because I'm at the end of the bar is no excuse for lackluster service.

I was visiting my relatives in the Shawnee area. I've been to a Granite City Food & Brewery in the past with them for Sunday brunch which was pretty good and plentiful. But this time, I went here with them for dinner. I ordered the fish and chips which was OK, but what I really liked from here was the oatmeal stout. The beer is really worth noting. The entrees seem to be more than plentiful since my relatives took some leftovers at home. The staff is really nice as well. I had a nice dining experience here with my relatives.

I've only visited Granite City during its weekend brunch, and it is a very solid weekend brunch. As you make your way through the line you can pick from a plethora of normal brunch items. The soups are almost always top notch (they'll switch between beer cheese, chicken tortilla, chicken and rice and most recently I've seen a tomato basil,) biscuits and gravy, a southwesternish scrambled eggs (they're good,) BACON, some differnt pasta dishes and super cheesy hash browns. Once you make it through the gauntlet there are a couple of stations where you can order eggs benedict, waffles and cut a good cut of beef (Lately the beef has been a little fatty. I don't mind this, but take heed if you do.) Yes, you can go through as many times as you wish, but I would recommend pacing yourself.

I went with some friends for Thanksgiving day lunch. The line was short and the service was great. The line for the buffet was short as well. However they were out of about three different things as I was going through the line so it made my trip through take longer than it might have. The buffet had a great selection and it was hard not to over eat. Three of the four desserts the people at my table tried were not very good. The brownie was especially hard and dry.

So I have an obsession.. Chicken Bruschetta Salad and that insane good bread that comes with it. Not a bleu cheese fan, so always nix that, but otherwise, best menu item. Always had pretty good service, only once have I not been impressed with the food (the chicken just had this odd.. way-to-chickeny-flavor) but love this place.

Expensive for what you get. Tasteless for what you pay.

If you think this is a brew pub you would be incorrect. They ferment beer at this location, but the mashing in and brewing occur at another facility. Beer is very inconsistent in taste. One time it is watery and somewhat flat tasting, and on your next visit it tastes like beer should taste. Food quality is adequate, nothing really stands out as exceptional except for the firecracker shrimp and shrimp tacos. They are very spicy and tasty. I'd like to rate it higher, but the beer quality must be consistent and they need to step up the food to the next level.

Their Sunday brunch needs an overhaul, at least based on today's experience. No vegetables except for soggy salads. I waited to get prime rib, then when it was my turn, a woman walked up next to me and proceeded to ask the server lots of questions, which he chose to answer instead of serve me who had been waiting in line patiently. They ran out of food and plates multiple times. My eggs benedict was completely cooked instead of runny. I am sorry this was my experience because I have had good meals here. But they need to revamp the brunch to make it good again.

Went there with the family. Had a horrible experience. The waiter was too busy with too many table and basically ignored us. food was good but it took almost 30-40 min to come out. We were not ever given bread.. BAD!!!

If you are planning to go here for lunch during the work week - DON'T. We thought we scored by finding a restaurant with hardly anyone in it during the lunch rush. We found out about two hours later why no one was there during lunch. There is no way you will make it out of here in less than hour. Not only did it take forever to get our bill, drinks, etc. For being one of three tables in the restaurant it took close to an hour to get our meals alone. The food was good and had larger portions. Even the lunch portions were huge. I fell in love with the tortilla soup though and recommend it if you like thicker, cheesy soup. The beer was, of course, very good. I recommend trying one if you go. The beer and soup got the three stars. I would go back if my co-workers wanted to but probably not choose this on my own.

I enjoy the variety of food here, though love their grilled Asian chicken salad so typically that's what I eat. The wait staff is hit and miss, but mostly a hit. The atmosphere is typical for this type of establishment. Have gone in for the Sunday brunch several times, but each time I'm somewhat disappointed as the food doesn't taste very fresh.

Since it is a chain, I expected Granite City to offer predictable and satisfying service on a recent visit to the Kansas City area. Unfortunately, I was vastly disappointed with the Granite City in Olathe. In order to keep my review short and concise, I will summarize my gripes with this place via an easy to follow "bullet point" approach: -At 9 pm, the place was absolutely dead and the lights were turned all the way up (uninviting atmosphere) -Although the bar was dead, it was nearly impossible to get prompt service from the bar tender -When she finally did help us, I found her to be rude... -Their beer tasted like soap and gave me an instant headache I will not be returning.

Ambience - Superb! This place has a great feel to it.. u feel happy and feel like having fun the minute u walk in! Service - Excellent! The servers helped us with our questions immediately and knew what they were talking about! Also, the recommendations they had were very helpful! Food - I had ordered the Cajun Pasta and OMG! It was not just awesome,.. it was foodgasmic awesome! For desserts, I had a key lime pie and it was amazing!

Ok, so I have only been here once, and it was for Sunday brunch. And let me just say, I was in heaven. They served a buffet style brunch with seriously everything you could dream of. They had pancakes. eggs, ham, french toast, bacon, sausage, has browns, fresh fruit, omelets galore, and so on. I was very impressed. My friends and I thought we had barged in on some special occasion, come to find out they do it every Sunday! Amazing! I will definitely return for another brunch one day. Also, of course we had to have bloody mary's...and they were awesome. I was not disappointed about any of it. I am not sure how there lunch and dinner fares, but there brunch gets two thumbs up from this girl.

I have to admit that when Granite City first popped up I was excited that a brewery was close to my house. That being said, the following reasons are for the so-so review. The building is very nicely done. It is a beautiful restaurant most definitely. When you walk in, you feel like you are in Johnson county as the atmosphere is safe. Safe meaning, it's very generic but also clean and nice looking. I have tried their brunch a while ago (before I was a Yelper) and it was very impressive. What I remember most was the eggs benedict bar and the omelet station. The chef's prepared anything you wanted in an omelet/eggs benedict. I also remember they had some killer cinnamon rolls. We went there for dinner yesterday and I ordered the Two Pull which is a combo of their two most popular beers. I think it was the bock and the amber... don't remember exactly. It was fair tasting. It was very generic once again. I ordered the portabella melt and I ended up having it taken off the ticket because it was really bad. The menu description excited me so much I just had to order it and per some previous yelp reviews, I wanted to try it. Basically, it was a portabella mushroom (one of my fav veggies) with arugula, spinach, roasted red peppers, and a vinaigrette dressing on a ciabatta bun. That sounds scrumptious to me. It came out with so much dressing on it, the bun was soaked through the bottom and I ended up eating only half of it with my fork and knife. Icky. I couldn't even taste the portabella. The manager apologized and took it off the tab, but I was disappointed big time. I will most likely return to try something different, but they better bring their A game next time, or I'll have to put the proverbial smack down on someone.

Though I've been here over a dozen times (mostly just for drinks), I hadn't visited in over six months. Tonight, I went for dinner and drinks. I started with the ale and cheddar soup, which I always like. Croutons are a nice change from typical crackers. I couldn't decide between the tilapia and the portabella sandwich, so I asked for the server's recommendation. He suggested the portabella melt. Yum! All the deep flavors of the grill permeated the 'shrooms and commingled beautifully with the vinaigrette dressing. It was flavor explosion. One drawback: I felt the portabellas were too salty. I've been drinking water nonstop since I finished my meal. I also remember their mojitos being better. Too sweet and not limey enough tonight. I squeezed out the remaining juice from the lime wedge left in my glass and that made it slightly better. Beers aren't my thing, so I can't comment on those, but the server was good. There's one particular host that I really dislike here. His absence tonight added to my satisfaction with this visit!

My husband and I went here for lunch today and I was quite surprised at how good it was. I had the luncheon size Bruschetta Salad and the Northern Ale and Cheddar Soup. Both were VERY good. That's one of the best salads I've had in a while. My husband had the luncheon prime rib sandwich with kettle chips and a Cesar salad. He said it was really good as well. We ordered a beer sampler and ended up buying a growler. The growler can be refilled on Tues & Thurs for $6.95. That's a great price. The food was reasonably priced as well. We will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this place.

Dined there/ here w/ husband over the weekend. No wait at 6pm is ah-mAzing. I love a platter with huge pieces of broccoli. Food was good, I dig the mix drinks & my husband loves their selection of beer. Been there/ here for "Girls Night Out". Yummy apps and again great mixture of drinks ;)

We've been there several times in the last 2 weeks. So happy to finally find a place with good cold beer, good food and good service. Haven't had a bad experience yet, in fact tonight was great! Food has been excellent with new specials tonight. Looking forward to more visits.

The food is a bit pricey, but you can certainly tell this chain started in Minnesota. The customer service is tip notch, and the food is always very tasty! Also, as a brewer, I enjoy that the guys who brewed the beer in the back are often there to tend bar. I can tell they take pride in their product.

Have been coming to Granite City for literally years and the last few times have had mediocre service at best- bar wait staff appears unmotivated and uninspired and it shows in their service. Seems the entire establishment is long in the tooth and very complacent. Too bad, because their beer and food is good.

OK, so lets break this down by category: Food - very good. A bit expensive, but I've honestly never felt ripped off here. They do lack significantly on anything that could remotely be construed as "healthy", but there are ways to get around it...an example - for salads, ask for the dressing on the side otherwise it will be drenched. For pasta's, try to avoid the cheese or anything with oil or it might come with slightly too much of either. You can also get anything with chicken grilled instead of fried (well, minus the wings I think). Beer - oh...it's OK. Not that great, but it's not that expensive either. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you can get a pitcher (that's 60 oz.) for $6. Try feeling ripped off at that price... Service - always very, very friendly. Efficient too! Overall - it's a good place. I like it. I started going because it is close to my house, and I kept going because the staff was always friendly and the beer was cold and cheap.

I've given this place several tries and it just doesn't get better than three stars. They have a large menu with big salads, pasta, sandwiches, some fish, chicken and even steak (which leaves a lot to be desired). So It's a nice place if you want a lot of options. They have brunch on Sundays and no lunch prices. Unfortunately the service here has been slow EVERY visit. I'm talking like consistently slow and poor five times. We had to ask for everything: refills, silverware, napkins and our check. It takes a long time to eat there even with a small group when the restaurant is only half full. It's bad. The food itself is pretty decent. I've had several of the salads and they are big enough to share. The bruschetta salad is my favorite. I've also had the grilled salmon with veggies and it was alright. Ultimately though I don't think I'll be suggesting the place any more because of the bad service and the food is just okay, not making up for what the service lacks.

All of the food I have tried there is good. This includes their burgers, pastas, and flatbread pizzas. They also give you a lot of food. However, the food takes a while. The food consistantly takes about half an hour or more to get to our table from the time we order it.

So we had just moved here from CA, and since it was my hubby's bday he said he wanted to check this place out. Kinda reminds me of BJ's in CA, really good beer, and delicious entrees! We had the pretzel appetizer, and oooohh let me tell you it was so yummy! However if you want a more cheesy dip, you just have to ask for it, the dip it comes with is like 1/2 cheesy, not as cheesy as I had hoped, but nonetheless delicious! He had a 'Bock' brew, and I had a patron margarita, and wow that was soooo good, not many places I've been to can make a good margarita to my liking, but this was good, except for when I spilt part of it. He had the rib eye, which was cooked just as he had asked, and I had the chicken cesar salad which was so huge i have lunch and dinner tomorrow! Then because I told them it was his birthday they brought a huge fresh baked cookie with ice cream! AWESOME! I love freshly baked chocolate chip cookies! Will definately have to go back and try the brunch I keep hearing so much about!

Food is pretty good. Service has been lacking the last few times I went. The menu is pretty limited. There aren't many options for those trying to watch their weight. The beer is good. Ask for the their beer sampler to try all of their signature brews. The deserts are delicious. The prices are on the high side and I noticed that they recently raised their prices (probably due to rising food costs). They changed their reservation policy recently and they only take reservations for large groups (I think it's 20 or more).

I'll tell you the hold that Granite City has over me: bacon. They have the best darn bacon I've ever tasted and it's featured prominently each Sunday in the restaurant's expansive all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. Granite City is a moderately priced brewery located in the heart of Olathe's 119th Street entertainment district. The area is chain heavy, but Granite City stands out among its chain cohorts as the area's only brewery. It's been ages since I've eaten dinner at the restaurant, but for two June Sunday's in a row my husband and I enjoyed brunch. Service at the restaurant on both occasions has been excellent; during buffet service our beverage glasses were never less than half full. Our server even brought out a sample of their summer ale - a sample at 10 a.m. works for me. We've been limiting our carbs and, admittedly, it was somewhat difficult on this breakfast bar. I mean, I can't complain about eating the GC bacon (seriously, I declare: the best bacon on the planet), sausage and prime rib. We had some delicious fresh strawberries and Caesar salad (sans croutons). On Father's Day Sunday the buffet was expanded further and we decided to branch out and try a few carby items (don't judge, it WAS a holiday). I did not especially enjoy the biscuits and gravy - full of sausage and, I think, pimentos. I could've done without the pimentos, but it was certainly a unique take on B&G. I did, however, enjoy my indulgence in the cheesy potato casserole. The restaurant it clean, the front of the house staff is accurate with their time estimates, the food is fresh and replenished on the buffet often. Will I go back? Sure, but my waistline can't afford to go to the all-you-can eat breakfast buffet too often, so it will be a long while.

Great experience. Went for late Friday night dinner and was glad to see they were open till 1 am. Two other places we checked were already closed. The misses and I both had one of the home brews, very good. I had island tuna. Cooked nicely - not overdone. She had Korean tacos. Very good too - I had to try a bite of course. Waitress and staff were super nice. Nice decor, good music, not too loud. All around good experience.

We had the brunch on Sunday. The service was good and the food was good but not exceptional. The prime rib was pretty good. There were some little things that could have made the experience better. On our first trip through the buffet line, the hash browns, bacon were empty plus there was no syrup for the French toast. It did not appear that they were checking the buffet line frequently enough to see what needed replenishing. Those items did get restocked with the exception of the syrup. Not a totally bad experience but I expected a little moe for the money.

This place was horrible! Let's see...a "brew pub" should at least have "decent" beer. WRONG! The stout was as flat and tasteless as five day old beer. There was even less body. If this is what they call a stout, then there is no help. The food was well below average. My Blacked Chicken Linguini tasted like they jerkied the chicken, then blackened it on the asphalt outside on this 100 degree day...and for a moment, I thought the Linguini sauce was butter, but that was all of the GALLONS of oil they used to "flavor" the sauce. My sister's hamburger could have doubled as a chock-block for a vehicle with no brakes...AND they screwed the order up! What they call "fries" are actually "shoestring potatoes...simply put a horrible experience, not to be repeated...I warned you!

The food at Granite City is unbelievable, I went recently and I was blown away. The atmosphere is big, clean and dark. Does that make sense? Spacious, neutral colors and not a lot of bright light. This vast brew house is a huge restaurant and when I was there, it was pretty empty, making it seem even bigger. The service was attentive and very friendly, the food was the crown jewel however. We started with the waffle fries, aided by a mysterious dipping sauce that was absolute perfection. Trying to manage a healthy meal after French fries, I followed up with a chicken sandwich. The chicken was full of flavor and very moist. It almost melted in my mouth and did not need cheese, or any sauce to hold it up. It simply had the standard lettuce, tomato, onion dressing and it was more than ample. I did not have any beer, but I was told the house brews are delicious, and with any brewery, you can order a sampler of all their brews.

I hate this place with a huge passion. No other wannabe brewery within a 300 mile radius is as pathetic and crappy as this place. The ONLY saving grace is their waffle fries, which for a lack of better word, are quite heavenly. But waffle fries ain't going to get you anywhere in life when your staff doesn't have a clue. The burgers here are truly comical. Dry, flavorless, and helpless. The ciabatta bun that the beef is thrown on is also pretty stuff and lacking in flavor. Nobody likes to eat a burger on stiff bread. On a separate visit (Because It's pretty difficult for me to be so bitter about a brewery) I had the chop salad with chicken and was again blown away by it's disgusting demeanor. The Italian vinaigrette could have been the highlight of the dish, but unfortunately the salad was baptised in the dressing. When you fork a piece of lettuce and so much dressing falls off the thing that you can put the drippings on six other salads, you know someone in the back was overzealous. So that brings me to the staff. A waiter that was totally unapologetic about the salad sat there and made excuses as to why he was not going to get me another salad. Only after speaking to a manager was the issue addressed. And as you can imagine, my overall opinion of this place was cemented despite the salad coming back MUCH more appetising than before.

Good food and drink in a nice decor. Kind of similar to the Upstream (Omaha). Same kind of food, decor and they also have their own brewery. I have been to the one in Olathe, KS, Lincoln and the one here in Omaha. All of them have great service and food. The penne with sausage and sweet peppers is fantastic. Also for dessert you HAVE to try the chocolate cake. I don't even like chocolate that much, but this cake is awesome. It comes with this whiskey butter sauce served warm on it.... Ahhh... They have two sizes, small and large. The small is enough for 2 people to fill up on. I haven't seen the large one but I would imagine it would be enough for a whole table. They also have their own beer which is great. They have a mug club that you can join for $20. When I joined they had a special for Mondays to join for half off. Plus when you join you get a free beer. So it didn't cost me much. But with your lifetime, any Granite City membership you get 10% all your meals and get points toward free gift cards. I also believe you get double points for beer. The beer is pretty cheap, I think it is $3.25 for a 24oz. mug. They always have 4 different beers on tap and then a specialty beer which changes month to month. For two, lunch will run you about $25 and for dinner around $40. *I know when the one in Olathe opened it had some issues with the liquor license. This had been all cleared up by the time I had visited.

The atmosphere and staff were great. Fairly prompt service and seated right away on a Saturday night. That's about where the good part ends. I ordered the NY strip, and substituted their "truffle fries" for broccoli. Steak was ordered medium, but I'm pretty sure it was still moving. The only part of the plate that was actually hot when it arrived was the hashbrown dish that's included. The steak was NOT what I had expected from this place, very tasteless. It was lukewarm at best. Their shoestring truffle fries tasted like fries from Steak & Shake, which actually would have been better because at least they'd have been warm. On the brighter side, the Caesar Salad was pretty good. I will most likely not return to the 119th location in Olathe. The food just doesn't justify the price. Seems more like an overpriced Applebees to me.

You want horrible service? Then pick Granite. You want unreliable service? Please go to Granite. If you like waiting 30 minutes for a drink. Don't forget to bring your friends to Granite. If you like lazy waitresses. Please make sure you you grab a bite to eat at Granite. Have I convinced you yet about going to Granite? Go at your own risk. Expect the worst so if they do their job then be excited because you got l lucky!

I love granite city. Their beers are great, especially the seasonal oktoberfest. If you visit a lot, the mug club is totally worth it. The idaho nachos with the granite city dip are a must-have, as are the garlic mashed potatoes. For entrees I usually stick with a sandwich or wrap, mostly because I'm stuffed from the appetizers already. Sunday brunch is ridiculously good as well. This is a go-to restaurant for me and my wife.

Be careful because on certain days the service is down right horrible and rude! We have been going about once a week and occasionally go for happy hour, but we will now find a new place instead.

We sat at the bar. The bartenders introduced themselves right away and explained all the beers and drink specials. I loved the Irish red ale. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had appitizers with our drinks. Really good. The best part was the food. My wife ordered BBQ Salmon (Special of the day) and I had New york strip. They were awesome. The fish was really good. My steak was prepared exactly how I had asked (Medium, pink all the way through with warm red center). and oh! not to forget the cheesy grated potato....ymmm ymmm ymmm...The manager came by a couple of times and asked us everything was good and the bartenders were just AWESOME!! Thank you JD and Aaron. You guys ROCK!!!

I hadn't been to Granite City in a while and was in Olathe so my friend and I stopped in for a late lunch. I'm not sure if it was the time of day or what, but the server was not really in the mood to work. At one point I started to ask her a question and she walked away. hmm. The food was good (we got the pretzel appetizer and ordered a buffalo chicken salad that is not longer on the menu). Not 100% sure charged us correctly (she corrected it once and wasn't worth the second question). Was bummed since I'd had good experiences in the past.

Nom! The portabello melt is great! So flavorful. The tomato basil pizza is... OK. But make sure you speak up when you order- I ordered Malbec and the waitress came back with an Amberbock... lol.

My parents had dined here several times when in KC and several other friends had raved about it, so Danielle and I opted out of our usual Sunday fare--taco Via and decided to try it out. It, being a brewery, forced me to order a beer:) I ordered a boring lady beer--raspberry wheat, but it was served really cold and it was really good. The food was impressive. I ordered a special non-menu item, shrimp and scallop ravioli. The dish was superb. The shrimp were huge and the cream sauce was not too heavy, but still indulgent. I owed Danielle for something so the tab was mine, and our bill with tip was like 65 bucks. It was really good though, but I am not sure it made a big enough impression for me to go back. Not that it wasn't good, but there are so many other restaurants that stick out more and are less expensive.

They advertise, "generous portions at reasonable prices". It is a lie. For $12.99 you will get 3 tiny slivers of tasteless pork. I would rather have gone to Applebees and eaten a hunk of steak for that price.

This evening my wife and I went there for dinner. I ordered a Bedda Chedda Bacon Cheeseburger. I ate almost half of it and look at this. A waiter walks by and sees me pulling a long piece of hair out of it. I was so grossed out I told them to take that crap back. And I was not hungry at all. Manager came by and ask if I wanted anything else. I just said we wanted our check and then was ignored for 30 more minutes. Screw this place.

(5)Simon S.

(2)Kristen S.

(2)Kelsey C.
(5)Richard K.
been here a few times and it is always a good time. I love the beer they make and the blue cheese cheeseburger is awesome.
(4)Ed S.
(4)Beth B.
(3)Paul M.
(3)Scott M.
(4)Laurel C.
(3)Phon W.
(2)Michal K.
This place is great, every time I've been here the food was delicious, hot and fresh. Chicken tortilla soup on Thursdays is so good I haven't had any better than this place. The menu changes between locations, overall a great place to eat take your family and have some great beer and relax.
(5)Victoria H.
(4)Denise M.
(4)Kari R.
Lunch with co-workers. Decent menu and prices, but they forgot one meal and the rest of the table had finished by the time his burger arrived. No apology from the server, no manager involvement, and no changes made to the bill. Always had mixed service when I've dined here and it seems to be declining.
(2)Ian C.
Nice layout and menu. Unattentive to the point of being rude bar service. If service is low on your list of priorities its ok
(2)Marilyn C.
(2)Jessica C.
Yumm!
(5)Marie F.
(3)Gregg S.
(3)Elise M.
I used to really love this place! The past few times I've visited, I felt like my food was some overpriced frozen dinner and not the quality that I used to expect. The service is excellent here though.
(2)Angela T.
(5)Shaytoonballa B.
(1)Amanda T.

Fun in Fargo drink and Stuffed pork chops were very good. But Mediterranean chicken was dry.

(4)Beth K.
Had a small problem while dining and it was totally taken care of and more . Love love the brunch. Will always go back and so should you.
(4)Romain C.

(5)Jordan A.

(3)Joel H.

(4)ME E.

(5)Mike S.

(3)Kev L.

(4)Ryan S.
(2)Alicia H.
(1)Shane D.
(4)D P.
Be careful because on certain days the service is down right horrible and rude! We have been going about once a week and occasionally go for happy hour, but we will now find a new place instead.
(1)Keyoor M.
(5)Jodi D.
(2)Stephanie S.
Nom! The portabello melt is great! So flavorful. The tomato basil pizza is... OK. But make sure you speak up when you order- I ordered Malbec and the waitress came back with an Amberbock... lol.
(4)Kristen B.
(3)Doug R.
Yuck. Went once. Never again. Just was ordinary and high priced.
(1)Anil P.
They advertise, "generous portions at reasonable prices". It is a lie. For $12.99 you will get 3 tiny slivers of tasteless pork. I would rather have gone to Applebees and eaten a hunk of steak for that price.
(1)Charles D.
