I have friends that rave about Go Chicken Go, so when I found myself just a couple blocks away at lunchtime, I had to try it. Eh, it was decently good, but nothing to write home about. It's guilty-pleasure food, I don't even want to think about the calories! Chicken is tender and juicy, with a nice crispy crust; it has that KFC-esque pressure-cooker taste. The roll was ordinary, and the mashed potatoes came with a yellow gravy, which was different & would have been pretty good except for the extreme salt. The restaurant itself is an utter dump, but the drive-thru is fast. Don't make a special trip, though, it's not all that.

Placed a large order for a party and they were very accomodating. Fed 50 people for $240. Included 120 pieces of chicken. Chicken strips. Gizzards. Rolls. Mashed potatoes and gravy. Baked beans. Breasts and legs were great. Their crust on the chicken was tasty. Sides were great.

Was very disappointed with everything we ordered. Nothing was fresh. The chicken wings were small and seemed like they had been sitting for a long time and then just put in the microwave. The fries seemed to be McDonalds fries that they had purchased earlier in the day and we're just warmed up. The gizzards and livers were cooked in bad grease. The Sweet Potato Pie was just a packaged Sara Lee pie. Very disappointing and we definitely will not be back.

Love this store. Its my go-to place when I need a taste of Mississippi. Gizzards are great!

Finally found myself at the Olathe location! When I lived in KCK in the late 90's I was a frequent visitor at the locations there. Since moving back to the KC area a couple years ago, I have stopped at both KC locations several times. I wish there was close to me! I found this location to be the same as the other two, which is one reason I love Go Chicken Go. You always know that to expect. The gizzards are pretty much what we go for. Almost the best ever. Not over breaded. Tender (as a gizzard can be). Sometimes we get the livers: Yum! Not dry or over cooked like a lot of places. Sometimes I just order chicken. I love that you can order a 9 piece and pick mixed, mixed w/o wings, all dark, or all white. Everything I have ever ordered has been hot and fresh! So many of my friends LOVE the rolls, which are basically cheap tear apart rolls that have been split and buttered. Not a huge fan, but others truly dig them. I can't say that any of the sides stand out to me...which is why I rarely get them. The G Sauce is interesting. If you like it, you can get extra in a little condiment cup. If you love it, you can buy a bottle of it to take home. The drive through was great. Like the other locations, they never rush you to order. Like the other locations, the customer service was wonderful. If there is a Go Chicken Go nearby, I will continue to stop to get gizzards and/or chicken even if it is just to take home and eat on through the week.

My "strip snack" included two large, delicious, chicken strips. The white meat was moist and tasty, while the crust was very good, and reminded me of KFC original recipe. The mashed potatoes and roll were just acceptable, while the honey mustard dipping sauce was very good. I found the service to be friendly, and very helpful. I was offered free samples of chicken liver, gizzards, and the new mac and cheese when I mentioned this was my first visit. The restaurant interior was clean, without any background music.

Not worth the calories for the price, proportions and quality. The mashed potatoes are good, but they come in a very small container.

I didn't grow up in Olathe, but a friend who did highly recommended Go Chicken Go to me. I've never been disappointed. It is hands down way better than KFC, and if you are looking for local fast food fried chicken, you can't go wrong here. The chicken has always been tasty, crunchy, hot, and fresh. Their gravy is unique and delicious as well.

I was raised on chicken livers and gizzards (lizards and gizzards) from Go Chicken Go. This is my favorite chicken dive. The chicken is moist, the mashed and gravy are delicious, the warm buttered rolls are divine. Go Chicken Go is a gift from God. Will I go back? Ab-so-lutely! I'm already there in my heart.

We had to stand there for 15 minutes before anybody noticed we were in the restaurant. And when we finally did order and get our food the chicken was very raw. I am never going back to them again.

Let's face it peeps - it's fast food. BUT - THE BEST CHICKEN LIVERS IN KC. Hands down. My sister from Chicago agrees, and we are chicken liver aficiondos. The "G-Sauce" served with them has a delicious heat, the perfect complement to these crunchy, salty delights. The sides? Meh - get the livers!

I wind up eating the gizzards and hot sauce every time I go. Chicken is good too.

I found myself only 4 blocks away from this place today. I knew I shouldn't "go", but it has been years so I couldn't resist. I always get their Chicken Livers (which are awesome with their G Sauce) so I had never tried the fried chicken. The crust is different than others. It's not too thick but it's nice and crunchy and covers the surface well. They gave me a thigh and a breast. The thigh was perfect but the breast was very thick and a little dry on the inside. The mashed potatoes and gravy are quite tasty with the potatoes being what you expect from a fried chicken chain. The gravy is different in that it is a yellow gravy. It's good. My son says that neon-yellow gravy is what they serve in his high school and he eats it. That's saying alot, I thought he hated gravy. The rolls are pretty awesome. A nice soft, buttered roll. Not a biscuit, which to me is for breakfast, but a dinner roll.

Stopped here for carry out several times. I think the price is kind of high and the pieces of chicken are kind of small, but the DW likes it. The chicken is very tasty and nice and crunchy though. No complaints there. I also like how their rolls come already buttered. Is it my favorite chicken place, no. But, I'd definitely pick Go Chicken Go over KFC any day.

What can I say??? If you are on a 2000 calorie diet then you've come to the right place. You can get all 2000 in one shot right here. 1999 if you get water to drink... Lol! You gotta love this place because the chicken is just off da hook. It is a different taste all together. It's not like popeyes or churches or kfc. They put a different kind of crack in this chicken and sprinkle it with diamonds. Especially the gizzards (Lord have mercy) I have to be careful not to eat a pound by myself. Ooooh and the dinner rolls are delicious and melt in your mouth. As far as the mashed potatoes go, they have to be some of the best instant potatoes I have ever tasted because the gravy will make you slap the fool out of somebody ya heard. So come on down and get some of this crack, I mean chicken. Oh and if you are worried about your calorie diet, don't worry there are more than enough here to get you by.

Love the one off of Troost and this one too. Probably not the cleanest place but the food is sure good. Hint: Order via Drive-Thru
